Seattle’s Filth Is Eternal will release their new album Impossible World on 17th March via MNRK Heavy. Rooted in punk’s immediacy while fusing hardcore intensity with sharpened melody that reaches into grunge and alternative rock, the LP marks a sonic turning point for the band. Lis pushes their vocal delivery into new territory, weaving melody and harmony through moments of raw force and clean restraint. Collaborations on Impossible World highlight Filth Is Eternal’s adventurous spirit as the LP boasts features from Fall Out Boy’s Joe Trohman, Baroness’s Gina Gleason, and Blood BrothersJohnny Whitney.

The world Filth Is Eternal is confronting on their new album is no longer theoretical. Systems are breaking in real time, cruelty is policy, and collapse feels baked into the everyday. Today they share the final single ahead of the LP, 'Hellfire', which stands as a blistering anti-authoritarian rallying cry. The band state, “Hellfire is committing yourself to fighting for a better world at all costs.”

Filth Is Eternal previously shared the singles 'Stay Melted' and 'Long Way', both lauded by the likes of Stereogum, Alternative Press, Brooklyn Vegan, Revolver, and others.

Following their acclaimed 2023 release Find Out, Impossible World emerged from a landscape of relentless gentrification, runaway technology, and creeping authoritarianism. Across the 12 tracks the band grapple with a present that already feels dystopian. But instead of surrendering to despair, they charge ahead with defiance, exploring urgent questions about survival, humanity, and resistance in a world being reshaped without consent.

Reborn in 2020, Filth is Eternal was inspired by the raw, impulsive ethos of punk. The band built a reputation for their frenetic live shows played in DIY venues across the country. FIE has always been about staying energized. "When everything looks stacked against us, that’s when we lean in, get louder, and find a way through," vocalist Lis Di Angelo says. Joined by guitarist Brian McClelland, bassist Logan Miller and drummer Josh Pehrson, FIE has opened for FinchBlood Brothers, Baroness, and Botch, among others, all the while staying true to their steadfast commitment to staying a DIY project. “Community means everything to us. We love working with independent venues and supporting local bands. That's the beautiful thing about punk, everyone jumps in to help each other out, and no matter where you are in the world you can find your friends.”

Despite some of its heavier subject matter, Impossible World has many soaring moments  - dashes of light that overwhelm the senses and give fans a sense of possibility amidst the toils of contemporary living. That ebullient optimism resonates throughout the record, with Lis' voice cutting through melancholia as a beacon lighting what's to come. In hard times the future can feel finite, unreal, but Impossible World reminds us that art has the radical potential to enliven us as we wait out the darkest hours.
