Belgian math metallers BEAR announce new album via Basick Records

Belgian math metal aficionados BEAR have revealed details for their third full-length album '/// ' set for release on 7 April 2017 via Basick Records.

The band have unveiled a short teaser for their first single ‘Masks’, which should give viewers a perfectly adequate and mouth-watering sense for the relentless chaos that '/// ' will bring.

Watch the teaser video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8GC5x5-CsN4&feature=youtu.be

'///' is BEAR’s most evocative and vitriolic album to date, comprising of eleven blistering tracks of crushingly heavy rhythms, distorted harmonies and demonic growls. Bearing resemblance to tech metal forerunners Meshuggah and the no-nonsense aggression of The Dillinger Escape PlanBEAR have a stylistic quality to them and this album is the exact embodiment of that.

Comments guitarist Leander Verheyen Tsjakalov, "This album will burst out of your chest, kill your whole crew and then have tea with your mom on Sunday. It's still BEAR. It's still everything you want from us and more. It's still aggressive as hell but we've added some more groove and melody to rest your weary ears once in a while."

After releasing their last album Noumenon in 2013, the band spent considerable time on the road throughout the UK and Europe, including appearances at UK Tech-Metal FestivalEuroblast and Groezrock.

'///' is released on April 7th via Basick Records. Pre orders will be available shortly.

HOMETRUTHS announce 'Open Your Eyes' EP & reveal video for 'Feral'

Mancunian musical activists HOMETRUTHS have announced details of their debut EP Open Your Eyes, due for release on the 3rd March 2017 via CI Records.

The hardcore/metal outfit have also released a video for the first single from the EP, titled 'Feral'. Check it out here:

The band garnered initial attention in December by posting defaced images of their most despised icons (including Donald Trump and Nigel Farage) in 20 UK cities with the hashtag #OpenYourEyes, generating curiousity across social media. Watch them in action here:

Open Your Eyes is a to-the-point statement of intent, as frontman Gaz Davies explains:

"The purpose of the record is to educate and enlighten people to what is going on in the world. Far too often people choose to turn a blind eye to these issues but with such a direct, in your face message people will find it hard to remain ignorant. People need to wake up."

Born out of five friends’ collective anger and frustration at the state of the world, HOMETRUTHS play passionate groove-laden hardcore, with a strong message of social change. Musically they could be likened to contemporaries While She Sleeps, Sylar and Stray From The Path, but also nod to hardcore masters Madball and Biohazard, and with an added technical flair, their sound is as fresh as their passion is raw.

It's time to take a step back and listen to some HOMETRUTHS.
