With rock solid foundations and a strongly curated team of devoted partners surrounding them, UNEVEN STRUCTURE's forthcoming opus is set to break boundaries and overcome any obstacles that might be thrown along the way, to bring this music to anyone that needs it in their lives.

Catch the band live in the UK this summer at Radar Festival, tickets available here.

Hailing from France, one of the biggest emerging markets and breeding stock for bands within the Metal and Progressive Rock scene, UNEVEN STRUCTURE formed in May 2008 from the willing of Benoit Friedrich and Igor Omodei to finally bring the technically enhanced and progressive music they had been working on for themselves, alive. The sound they were aiming to create was a one of a kind merger of groovy polyrhythmic guitar riffs with huge slick of ambient guitar leads, which with no doubt they accomplished.

In December 2009 they released their first EP with the help from singer Daniel Ädel (Vildhjarta). The EP has obtained great feedback through thousands of downloads through the span of a few days, already allowing the band’s name to spread on the internet in January 2010. Later that year, vocalist Matthieu Romarin joined the band, enriching their sound with his unique, both clean and heavy singing.

The band made their first live performances in Europe in 2010 and released the first album Februus in October 2011 via Basick Records, the British label leading the avant-garde and experimental metal market. After releasing Februus, acclaimed by press and audience unanimously, saluting the creativity and technicality, the band made multiple tours and festival appearances through Europe and Russia with Tech Metal and Prog Rock pioneers such as Protest The Hero, Textures, Animals as Leaders and Tesseract. In 2013 the French metallers released a re-recorded version of their debut EP 8, as a gift to their early fans for being supportive and believing in the project. From then the band continued to tour in multiple countries all across Europe from Portugal to Russia. Accounting more than 100 shows since the release of their first album and some highlight gigs performing at Brutal Assault, Euroblast Festival and a full European tour with Protest The Hero.

From 2013 onward,UNEVEN STRUCTURE worked on the follower ofFebruus. This next step, a full concept album called La Partition, released on April 21st 2017 under the guidance of their new label, Long Branch Records. WithinLa Partitionyou can hear and feel the progress the band made sinceFebruus, their sound now being even more complex and perfectly arranged, catchy and experimental. A perfect combination of the hardness of metal with the elaborate techniques of prog and the atmospheric sounds of ambient.

Following this new chapter, UNEVEN STRUCTURE came back touring Europe, playing over 70 shows in 2017 supporting Textures, Twelve Foot Ninja, as a headliner and making several festival appearances such as Resurrection Festival. But instead of pushing the heavy touring schedule any further, they decided to use such a dense amount of learnt lessons and gained wisdom to clear the table, getting right back into the studio to write their newest album, soberly named Paragon, scheduled to be introduced to the world on 18th October 2019, under Long Branch Records. This album crystallises an age of newfound maturity, a vision  clearer than ever, and the need for Uneven Structure to expose its genuine inner self. With rock solid foundations and an iron handedly curated team of devoted partners surrounding the entity, this upcoming opus is set to break the boundaries and overcome any obstacles that might be thrown on the way, only to be brought to everyone that needs this music in their lives.

From a very early age, most of us are molded by the traditions of our upbringing. While there are undeniable benefits to tradition, often the fear of bucking against the expectations they create prevent us from pursuing our personal truth. Growing up in the deep south, the members of GIDEON spent years letting these mental fences dictate their creative direction. On their aptly titled fifth full-length album, Out of Control, the band is no longer allowing themselves to be put in a box, sonically or topically, to fit what is expected of them. Enhanced by its eclectic array of musical influences, including a heavy dose of 90s and 00s nu metal, clear inflections of outlaw country, and hip hop, Out of Control is a powerful statement of who the members of GIDEON really are and where they come from.

The members of GIDEON - Daniel McWhorter (Vocals), Tyler Riley (Guitar), Jake Smelley (Drums) and Caleb DeRusha (Bass) - have encountered a myriad of cultures while touring the world in support of their music. These opportunities led to the realisation that open-mindedness and acceptance are important aspects of developing your own perspective. As a result, they’ve grown away from their roots as a 'Christian Metalcore' band and through their last three records this transition becomes apparent. On 2014’s Calloused the band offered glimpses into their internal struggle with being a 'Christian' band. By the release of Cold in 2017, they emerged more bitter and aggressive; defiant in the face of expectations. Finally, Out of Control finds the band breaking free of all previous restraints as they craft a diverse record unlike anything they’ve ever released.

JUNIOR reveal wrestler cameo video for new single 'P.Y.D' (ft. ELIJAH)
7.jpg

Welsh rock band JUNIOR have revealed the video for their new single 'P.Y.D', which features guest vocals from Indy pro wrestler ELIJAH. The track is taken from the trio's debut full-length, Beautiful Life, which is set for release on 2nd August.

Continuing the wrestling theme, the video features cameos from wrestlers Adam Cole (WWE NXT), Ali (WWE), Drake Maverick (WWE), Drake Younger (WWE), Jimmy Havoc (All Elite Wrestling), Kassius Ohno (WWE NXT), Marty Scurll (Ring Of Honour), Rhea Ripley (WWE NXT), Rickey Shane Page (CZW King of the Deathmatch), Ruby Riot (WWE), TJ Perkins(WWE/TNA/ROH) and Will Ospreay (New Japan Pro Wrestling).

Check it out here: https://youtu.be/nzcBtJkZH9M

“I’ve said for a while that Independent wrestling is the new punk rock," comments JUNIORvocalist/bassist and WWE wrestler Mark Andrews. "Our new single 'P.Y.D' is about the punk rock, DIY mentality of people in the independent pro wrestling scene. The song and video is a homage to some of the top wrestlers in the world today who came from a scene that celebrated pro wrestling regardless of the gritty, low budget environments it started in. There’s a lot of love and passion in the community centres and bingo halls across the world that showcase their shows, and it's moulded all of the stars who cameo in this video. It also features Indy pro wrestler ELIJAHwho sings some pretty gnarly vocals in the bridge!”

JUNIOR will tour the UK in support of the album next month, dates are as follows:

August
2nd - Cardiff Clwb Ifor Bach
4th - Birmingham Sunflower Lounge
5th - Glasgow Hug & Pint
6th - Manchester Star & Garter
7th - London Club 229
8th - Cheltenham Frog and Fiddle
9th - Sheffield Record Junkee

Pre-order Beautiful Life here: www.musicofjunior.com

The theme of positivity and self-expression underpin JUNIOR's first album and are key to the band's own identity. Beyond this, the band's drummer Si Martin is known for running mental health non-profit Heads Above The Waves, which raises awareness of depression and self-harm in young people.

In addition to Si, JUNIOR's vocalist/bassist is well-known WWE wrestler Mark Andrews who performs weekly on NXT, 205 Live and NXT UK to an audience of millions. Guitarist and co-vocalist Matt Attard writes theme tunes for wrestlers, balancing his time against JUNIOR's increasingly busy schedule.

The band's vital message does not detract from the fact that JUNIOR are, above all else, a fun band. The highly versatile and impressively mature debut brings to mind elements of Blink-182, Biffy Clyro, and Jimmy Eat World, breaking beyond anthemic pop-punk tropes to create a highly irresistible first offering to all fans of modern rock.

In their short history, JUNIOR have already played Download Festival, toured Canada, headlined London's The Dome and received significant support from Rock Sound, Kerrang!, Alt Press and many more.

GENDER ROLES release video for new single 'Hey With Two Whys'
GR Photo.png

Brighton indie punks GENDER ROLES have released a video for their new single ‘Hey With Two Whys’, the second from their debut album, PRANG, which is set for release on 30th August via Big Scary Monsters. The track was championed as Rockest Record on the Radio 1 Rock Show last night, where Daniel P. Carter played it twice.

Check out the video for ‘Hey With Two Whys’ here: https://youtu.be/7tvxXSShJdI

Following previous single 'You Look Like Death', which has seen support from the Radio 1 Rock Show, Huw Stephens, Steve Lamacq, Radio X's John Kennedy, Kerrang! Radio's Alex Baker, Amazing Radio and more, 'Hey With Two Whys' continues to deliver the band's catchy hooks and uplifting melodies, whilst offering a glimpse into their quirky sense of humour.

"This next single ‘Hey With Two Whys’ is one that definitely stood out to all of us when we were recording it, we really love playing it live as well, it seems to be quite a ‘boogie’ tune," explains guitarist/vocalist Tom Bennett. "We spent a few days travelling through Europe and spending any spare time having fun behind a camera. Then we ended up with a video.

Concluding on a thoughtful note, he adds: "Success is on a personal scale and if you stay true to your roots, you’ll always feel like a winner."

GENDER ROLES recently announced their PRANG UK headline tour, check them out on the following dates:

02/10 - Norwich, Open
03/10 – London, Boston Music Room
04/10 – Southampton, Heartbreakers
05/10 – Bristol, Rough Trade
06/10 – Nottingham, Rough Trade
07/10 – Glasgow, Attic
08/10 – Sheffield, Record Junkee
09/10 – Liverpool, Kazimier
10/10 – Cardiff, Clwb Ifor Bach
11/10 – Portsmouth, The Wave Maiden
14/10 - Guildford, Boileroom

Purchase tickets here: http://genderrolesuk.com

The band are also confirmed for the following dates this summer:

20/07 – Birmingham, Flapper Fest
17/08 - ArcTangent Festival

Forming after a chance initial meeting at drummer Jordan Lilford’s Brighton Pride party in 2015, GENDER ROLES, also consisting of guitarist/vocalist Tom Bennett and bassist Jared Tomkins, found that Brighton’s DIY scene was the ideal hub to cut their teeth and allow themselves to grow as a band. The inspiration and ethos they could draw on in those early days has been integral to the act they’ve become.

While the coastal city remains the band’s home, it cannot be said to have contained them. Gigging throughout Europe and the States, packing out tents at festivals such as 2000 Trees, and sharing the stage with heroes from Jamie Lenman to Touche Amore and Pup, GENDER ROLES have built on those early foundations to amass a growing fanbase, drawn to their melodic grunge/punk and dry, candid sense of humour.

Documenting that growth have been the band’s two EPs released so far, 2017’s Planet X-Ray and 2018’s Lazer Rush. While the theme for those EPs was “overcoming the past and looking forward to the future together”, the new, debut album, PRANG, focuses on much more immediate issues, even if it did come from a particularly happy place for GENDER ROLES.

“There was never really a concept discussed until we really started stockpiling a lot of new material. It's really hard to try and express any other thought other than 'everything is great' when everything is actually going great. We were in such a good place as a new band throughout 2017 and 2018 and you can't just sing about being stoked all the time, because it's boring. One of the first songs we wrote for the album, “Always”, is about losing someone very close and it sort of occurred that it's difficult, no matter when it happens in your life. Most problems we face in life are at home, either growing up, raising a family, trying to become one, being alone, whatever it is. The idea grew from there and became the theme of the whole album”.

BEING AS AN OCEAN announce new album and reveal single 'Play Pretend'
Being As An Ocean 2019.png

BEING AS AN OCEAN have released their cinematic new single ‘Play Pretend’. The track is taken from their forthcoming post-apocalyptic, sci-fi masterpiece PROXY: An A.N.I.M.O Story, set for release on 13th September.

Check out the video for 'Play Pretend' here (Warning! This video contains scenes of ritualistic drug use and violence. Viewer discretion is advised): https://youtu.be/XOfTuaFRmPw

Pre-save Proxy: An A.N.I.M.O Story: https://backl.ink/PROXY

‘Play Pretend’ combines huge choruses, anthemic hooks and crushing riffs that are perfectly accompanied by waves of electronic ambience, soundtracking the aftermath of a nuclear World War, which is where our story begins…

PROXY: An A.N.I.M.O. Story is a creative milestone for the band with a body of work that careens between rousing anthems and philosophical wonderment. It packs the personal and thematic punch Joel Quartuccio (vocals) has made his calling card while indulging a new collaborative process which is miles ahead from BAAO’s start.

“As we all grow older, our lust for life and its abundant experiences start to wain as we succumb mentally and emotionally to life’s responsibilities, struggles and obstacles. So often we fixate on the violent tossing and instability that comes from enduring the rapids of life instead of stepping back in our perspective and seeing it instead as a season, another valuable opportunity to strengthen our spirits or souls in a time of reflection and examination, knowing that the storm will indeed pass eventually. If we can continue to have faith in the processes of life and remember that we have lived through hardships before and come out the other side stronger, then we can learn to welcome the challenges, as tools and potential for personal growth. Our strength is found in weakness. This song was an opportunity for us, both as a band and for myself personally, to be reminded of this and resolve, through action, to continue changing our negatives in life into positives." - Joel Quartuccio

Wondrously cinematic, taking both band and audience deeper into an infinitely unfolding saga, PROXY: An A.N.I.M.O. Story is the sound of a reinvigorated entity, ushering in a bold new chapter, free from preconceptions and eagerly embracing the unwritten future. The passion of the band’s formidable past remains a dependable constant, arresting in its urgent delivery and authenticity. The energy pulsing through PROXY flows from the same source that built a dedicated community around BAAO’s first four albums, but it’s scope bigger, somehow both more cerebral and more soulful.

Grammy-nominated producer and collaborator Zakk Cervini (Blink-182, Poppy, Halsey) helped the band to build songs from the ground up, together in the studio, starting with 2018’s 'Alone', which emerged in just twelve hours. This new process carried forward into the making of PROXY. Each song sprang from the collective. Nothing was considered “finished” until everyone shared enthusiasm and satisfaction in the results.

BEING AS AN OCEAN first emerged from the mountainous areas of San Diego County and has since fashioned an immersive experience with every performance, wrenching catharsis from post-hardcore punch and ambient excursions. It’s an approach that commands a crowd from the massive festival stages, to co-headlining with Counterparts, and headlining Europe’s Impericon Never Say Die! tour.

With a steadily building catalogue of moody anthems and textured epics that have earned them over 85 million global streams, BEING AS AN OCEAN is that rare heavy entity that offers a full experience for the head and the heart. Embracing vibe and spirit over precision and safety, BAAO stokes the embers that first drove them to make music into a raging inferno of sound and emotion.

Swedish rock quartet SOLENCE release new single 'Death Do Us Part'
Solence 2019.jpg

SOLENCE, Sweden's promising new export, have released their single 'Death Do Us Part'. The track follows a series of singles including the anthemic 'Empire Of The Sun', which gained support from Alex Baker's Kerrang! Fresh Blood and featured on official Spotify playlists, reaching over 500,000 listeners.

Check out the video for 'Death Do Us Part' here: https://youtu.be/hysb9D1nfLI

Stream/purchase 'Death Do Us Part' here: https://orcd.co/m07oa44

'Death Do Us Part' delivers the epic moments that shone through 'Empire Of The Sun', but takes a darker, theatrical route that showcases the multi-layered talent of the quartet. With hints of new era Bring Me The Horizon, early Panic! At The Disco and Avenged Sevenfold, SOLENCE continue to make a bold statement as they build on their wealth of influences and range of sounds.

In their short time as a band SOLENCE have hit 22+ million streams across all platforms, with 230,000 monthly listeners on Spotify - having featured on official Spotify playlists (New Core, New Metal Tracks, Most Wanted Rock, New Blood, Just Rock!, Release Radar, Nu Jävlar!, Radio, Discover Weekly) - and 61,000 YouTube subscribers, all the more impressive for a band who have a strong DIY ethic and write, produce, mix and release all of their music independently.

The quartet spent two years releasing cover songs, including 'Warriors' by Imagine Dragons and Ed Sheeran hit 'Shape Of You', which built their strong fan base and set the foundations for a series of original singles. The momentum built from the single releases saw the band embark on a month-long European tour throughout Germany, Switzerland, Czech Republic, the Netherlands and Italy.

SOLENCE will release their debut album in late Autumn 2019, with tour plans to follow. More details will be revealed soon.

Scottish death metal band GODEATER announce debut LP, All Flesh Is Grass
IMG_4467-Edit.jpg

One of Scotland's most exciting metal prospects GODEATER have announced their debut full-length, the aptly-titled All Flesh Is Grass, due 27th September.

The technical death metal outfit have also streamed their new single, 'Silent Spring'. Premiered via Metal Injection, you can watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f7SyqNiRkxY

Pre-order the album: http://smarturl.it/allfleshisgrass

Combining devilish technical ability with a vicious sound and vicious critique of the world, the vegetarian and vegan group's debut full-length effort All Flesh Is Grass takes aim at one of Planet Earth's most pressing issues: climate change and its associated effects. This is most apparent in the video for 'Silent Spring', which targets the cruelty of industrial farming.

A mixture of Decapitated, Between the Buried and Me at their heaviest, and The Black Dahlia Murder, GODEATER will invariably draw comparisons also with Cattle Decapitation and Gojira for their outlook. It's no disservice to the band to mention them in the same breath as these more established forebears, as they have the musical ability to match.

Already turning heads with performances at UK Tech-Fest, and alongside Ingested, and Virvum, GODEATER will be playing Damnation Festival this year and touring in October with Harbinger.

GODEATER's previous single 'Exsanguinated' has already received tens of thousands of streams worldwide and have gained the attention of Metal Injection, Metalsucks and Metal Hammer, who said the band "deserve to rise swiftly to the top of the pile".

Multi-dimensional Progressive Force DAN BRIGGS releases debut solo EP Beyond What Is Real via NIGHTMARE SCENARIO project

Multi-dimensional Progressive Force DAN BRIGGS releases debut solo EP Beyond What Is Real via NIGHTMARE SCENARIO project

Between The Buried and Me Bassist debuted solo EP via PROG Magazine

briggs.jpg

Acclaimed American Grammy-nominated musician Dan Briggs (Between The Buried and Me, Trioscapes, Orbs, Nova Collective) has released his stunning debut EP Beyond What Is Real for solo project NIGHTMARE SCENARIO on July 5th, which was written, recorded and produced at his home in North Carolina.

First premiered via Prog Magazine, the EP has an experimentally wide sound palette; a balance of mind-bending musicianship featuring dense arrangements, free-form avant-garde, celestial blasts of analog synths, syncopated rhythms, cinematic soundscapes, improvisation and folk/bluegrass laments and showcases Briggsat his most creative, as a truly multi-dimensional progressive force.

Stretching out across 6 mesmerising songs and clocking in at 21 minutes, Beyond What Is Real is a seamless stream of music that plays out the story of a character on a distant planet losing track of time, reality and what their purpose is.

You can now listen to the album here:

Dan comments: “I feel this is the truest look into my musical background and the things that have made me the musician I am now: from my studies in classical upright bass performance and playing in the pit for musicals, to growing up surrounded by the great music of the 70s. Nightmare is my opportunity to open myself up and explore the sounds that lead me towards the future.”

After top 20 Billboard releases with Between the Buried and Me (top 200 chart) and Trioscapes (Jazz chart), in addition to work with Orbs and Nova Collective, this is Briggs’ first solo release. A full-length album is in the final stages of pre production.

Beyond What Is Real dropped into Earth’s orbit on July 5th via Briggs’ own Hogweed & Fugue Records label and is available to purchase physically via the NIGHTMARE SCENARIO website or digitally via Bandcamp and iTunes

The song 'Incarcerated' depicts how deep the band is willing to go down the personal rabbit hole lyrically, while 'Rapture' and 'Imagine' showcase the true span of the band’s musical spectrum – proving that any metal fan can find something to love on Rapture.

Aaron comments on Rapture: “Rapture for us is a product of each one of our experiences up until this moment; each moment lived on the road, every drop of inspiration picked up along the way. Written musically in the only way we know how, we took each one of our musical tastes and formed it into the ultimate album for ourselves, hoping that it will translate and fall onto the ears of the listeners the same way it falls onto ours. Rapture is a musical journey through each one of our minds, lyrics that come from both the darkest and lightest corners of our souls. We put everything into this one, leaving behind any preconceptions, and what came out the other side is something that we're all so proud of, and we hope that the listener will feel it within themselves also.”
