Danish heavyweights CABAL have released their new self-titled single from their forthcoming new LP, Drag Me Down, released 3rd April on Long Branch Records.

The single, featuring Jamie Hails of Polaris, can be seen here: https://youtu.be/tVsCqQrhNWU

Pre-order: https://cabal.lnk.to/DragMeDown

CABAL about the song:

"'Drag Me Down' is the title track of our sophomore album and deals with the subject of willingly letting the life you have chosen for yourself destroy you. It’s an immensely heavy and sinister song and it features an amazing guest performance by rising Australian metalcore stars Polaris’ Jamie Hails."

Drag Me Down also contains guest vocals of Matt Heafy (Trivium) Kim Song Sternkopf (Møl) and will be available as exclusive bundles, LP, CD and digital. Beyond this, the band's acclaimed debut album Mark Of Rot will be released on vinyl for the first time on 3rd April.

CABAL will be touring the USA for the first time with IngestedThe Last Ten Seconds Of Life and others, on the DECADE OF HUMAN SUFFERING III Tour.

CABAL are one of the most brutal and promising heavy acts hailing from Denmark, creating a visceral and doom-laden atmosphere throughout both their music and visual expression. The production is crystal clear, whilst the songs draw inspiration from black and death metal to djent, hardcore and more.

Since the release of their debut LP Mark Of Rot (2018) the band have made a name for themselves in both Denmark and the rest of the world by playing renowned festivals like Copenhell, Roskilde Festival, Euroblast Festival and Complexity Fest as well as touring Europe, Japan and North America.

CABAL are now ready with their second full-length: Drag Me Down is a dark descent into a personal hell brought to life by crushing instrumentals, an oppressive atmosphere and dark personal lyrics delivered with a relentless intensity, while still leaving room for experimentation and expansion of CABAL’s signature sound.

Add to this guest appearances from metal titans Trivium’s Matt Heafy, rising metalcore stars Polaris’ Jamie Hails and Denmark’s Blackgaze darlings Møl’s Kim Song Sternkopf and there is no doubt that this a release worth keeping your eyes and ears peeled for.

Cosmic Thrill Seekers, the new record from Albany punk rock band PRINCE DADDY & THE HYENA, is many things. It is an odyssey of epic, The Monitor-esque proportions, a great, galloping sonic roadtrip across space and time and Albany, boomeranging around a horn of punk, pop, indie, garage rock, and orchestral, Queen-style arrangements and theatrics; it is an exploration of the fall-out after an acid trip, manic self-destruction, bottoming-out and recovering, and then slipping again; it is a candid, acute documentation of front person Kory Gregory’s cyclical mental health states as told through three acts and 14 songs/chapters; it is an existential presentation of eternal return theory, a victory via surrender to impermanence; and perhaps most of all, it is about Dorothy Gale and The Wizard Of Oz.

There are three acts in Cosmic Thrill Seekers, each exploring a stage in Gregory’s mental health. “I remember watching the Wizard of Oz one time, and noticing some weird kind of parallels between the cyclical nature of my mental health and that movie,” he says. “My mental health rotates and jumps from one stage to the next, and then repeats itself.” The closing moments of Cosmic Thrill Seekers reflect this, as the outro to the last track, “The Wacky Misadventures of the Passenger,” morphs into the first muted notes of opener “I Lost My Life.”

Doom Metal Trio GODTHRYMM Featuring Former Members Of My Dying Bride, Anathema, Stream Album in Full Ahead of Release
Godthrymm_Promo-14 copy.jpg

British Doom metal trio GODTHRYMM have lifted the veil on their staggeringly mournful debut album Reflections, streaming it in full ahead of it's release this week on 14 February via Profound Lore.

Listen here: https://youtu.be/5qBOTf6cMT8
Pre-order the album here: https://profoundlorerecords.bandcamp.com/album/reflections

GODTHRYMM, featuring vocalist/guitarist Hamish Glencross (ex-My Dying Bride, Vallenfyre, Solstice), drummer Shaun Taylor-Steels (ex-My Dying Bride, Anathema), and bassist Bob Crolla, arrive with riffs as gargantuan as the pedigree behind their band members.

Vocalist and guitarist Hamish Glencross comments: "I’m equal parts excited and nervous for the release of this album. We’ve invested our hearts and souls into this with no small amount of hard work. We’re incredibly proud and thankful to those who have helped us along the way. Cheers!"

Adds bass player Bob Crolla: “I’m super proud to be a part of this project. I can’t wait for people to hear the album and then to get out and play it live.”

And drummer Shaun 'Winter' Taylor-Steels: “Oh! It's heavier than a thousand anvils!”

Forged in 2017 by Glencross, GODTHRYMM sees the respected UK metal luminary return to his doom metal roots, creating the music he was known to help forge with Solstice on the legendary New Dark Age album and especially with the heralded My Dying Bride from the 2000 – 2014 time period. Further adding to the GODTHRYMM pedigree is drummer Shaun Taylor-Steels who, after some lineup refining following the band’s A Grand Reclamation debut EP, became the core of GODTHRYMM. In the months to follow, the pair recorded the colossal Reflections full-length. Upon its completion, Glencross and Taylor-Steels added bassist Bob Crolla to the fold making GODTHRYMM a true power trio of doom.

Recorded and mixed by Nathan Bailey and featuring artwork and design by Brian D’Agosta of Gostworks Art (VallenfyreWar//Plague), Reflections is the result of Glencross taking GODTHRYMM into darker, more melancholic, and towering realms. Through Glencross’ soaring passionate vocals complimenting his powerful riffs along with Taylor-Steels’ thunderous percussion giving the rhythm section that immense and glorious tone, Reflections is a testament to the glory days of the genre while simultaneously making its statement as a new force of modern day doom metal to behold.

To mark the release GODTHRYMM play their album launch show on February 22 at The Unicorn, Camden, London with support from Consecration and Gods of Hellfire. Tickets for the album launch are available for purchase here: https://www.wegottickets.com/event/493756/

Instrumental post-metal quartet TELEPATHY release new video
Telepathy by Tina Korhonen 1resize.jpg

Instrumental post-metal quartet TELEPATHY have released the video for their single 'Pariah', taken from their anticipated third full-length record, Burn Embrace, due 27th March via Svart Records.

Watch the video for 'Pariah', premiered on Decibel, here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEJeOMAwjSo

Pre-order the record: https://orcd.co/telepathy-pariah

The band comment: "We’re very happy to share ‘Pariah’ as the first taste of our new album Burn Embrace. Feeling like an outsider looking in is something that everyone goes through at some point in life and this became a recurring theme whilst being holed up in the middle of nowhere during the whole writing process for Burn Embrace,” says the band. “It’s also a metaphor for the way we see ourselves as a band. It’s always been tough to pigeonhole us, and whilst sometimes that has felt like a curse, it’s ultimately what we consider our greatest strength.

“‘Pariah’ tells the story of a person who has given up the comforts of a traditional life, and lost their connection to the modern world,” they add. “Haunted by the memory of those they left behind, the character contemplates on the struggle of not being accepted in the eyes of society.

“The video was made in various locations around the UK by our own Piotr and Albert Turek, with help from our former bassist Krystian.”

TELEPATHY formed in 2012, the product of three Polish brothers (PiotrAlbert, and Krystian Turek) and one English guitarist (Richard Powley), later joined by bassist Teddy James Driscoll. The quintet's second and most recent LP, Tempest (Spring 2017) was released to rave reviews globally, including Metal Hammer, Kerrang!, The Quietus, Visions, Metal Hammer DE, and more.

TELEPATHY played over 125 shows in support of Tempest over eight tours, and performed at acclaimed festivals, including RoadburnArcTanGentDesertfest London, and more. Support tours with Solstafir and Saint Vitus have the newer quintet marked as one of the most revered and talked-about groups in the instrumental post-metal scene.

Burn Embrace will look to carry this legacy and then some - a scintillating mix of sludge, post-black, doom, and blackened metal from a band fully worthy of their praise.

Watch the band live:

22.03 Colchester, Arts Centre
26.03 London, The Black Heart
27.03 Coventry, The Arches
28.03 Manchester, Riffolution Festival

CORDYCEPS release new single/video 'Parasitic Degenerate'
image lo res.jpg

Las Vegas brutal death metal masters CORDYCEPS have unveiled a video for their crushing new track 'Parasitic Degenerate', taken from their debut full length Betrayal, released 10th April via Unique Leader.

Check out 'Parasitic Degenerate' here: https://youtu.be/QvL0FcfldpY

Called "the new sound of terror" and "one of brutal death's most exciting new forces" by Black Dahlia Murder vocalist Trevor Strnad in his Obituarist column, CORDYCEPS have upped their devastating slamming heaviness and masterful technicality with their new effort. The 10 track album was recorded by Kirk Moll at The Alamo Recording Studio in Las Vegas, NV as well as Ryan Wechta at Alchemy Lab StudioBetrayal was mastered by Troy McCosker (Ne Obliviscaris) with artwork being provided by Santiago Francisco Jaramillo.

The band commented: "This album is the representation of the place the mind can go when confronted with the challenges of depression and anger."

Pre-order Betrayal here: https://www.indiemerch.com/uniqueleader

Formed in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2014 with a vision of pure death metal extremity, CORDYCEPS spent their first two years in existence perfecting their sound, with the long hours of writing and methodical practice honing the group into a mature, cohesive unit before they entered the national stage. Their patience yielded the group’s debut EP Black Blood Butchery – an unmercifully devastating and relentlessly technical slab of audible violence, which was released on New Standard Elite Records in 2017.

The EP quickly garnered attention with Black Dahlia Murder vocalist Trevor Strnad writing in his Obituarist column “Black Blood Butchery is a veritable festival of blazing technicality and musical prowess. This is thinking man’s brutal death metal in every way.” With momentum quickly building CORDYCEPS embarked on a busy touring schedule which saw them perform at Chicago Domination Fest, Los Angeles Extinction Fest, Violent and Defiant Fest, and a successful tour alongside Cerebral Incubation.

The group caught the attention of Unique Leader in 2018 and began working on their debut full-length. After a line-up change and long, emotionally intense writing process the group is ready to unleash their finest work yet: Betrayal. With BetrayalCORDYCEPS have elevated themselves into the pantheon of brutal death metal.

AZUSA (The Dillinger Escape Plan, Extol, Sea + Air members and more) stream new single
Pictures by Simon Skreddernes (4) resize.jpg

AZUSA, the avant-metal group formed of members of The Dillinger Escape PlanExtolSea + Air and more, have released 'Monument', the second single from their forthcoming LP, Loop Of Yesterdays, released 10th April via Indie Recordings / Solid State Records

Premiered via Revolver, the 'propulsive and dynamic' single can be streamed here:
https://azusa.ffm.to/monument

Pre-order the record: http://bit.ly/2u2ZYju
Pre-save: https://azusa.ffm.to/album

In the words of the band, "'Monument' is a mid-tempo banger about false idols, hypocrisy, and the shortcomings of faith systems as a one-size-fits-all recipe for the 'correct' ways of living."

Loop Of Yesterdays is the follow-up to 2018's critically acclaimed Heavy Yoke. Although equally broad in scope, Loop Of Yesterdays finds the band with more to say but less to prove, achieving a more aerodynamic and accessible approach to their intricate sense of song-writing and inherently technical style. Expanding on ideas first presented on 2018’s album Heavy YokeAZUSA seek to captivate audiences with their unique blend of melodic-thrash, jazz-fusion, hardcore and early 90’s riff pop sensibilities. This is accompanied by lyrics which assertively confront coming of age struggles, like loss, grief, memories and estrangement. Bassist Liam Wilson says, “Heavy Yoke was the initial impact, Loop Of Yesterdays is the aftermath.”

“The line “cannot lose myself in a loop of yesterdays” was inspired by an eerie dream I had and became a recurring reminder for me. I had been out of focus for a long time that I wanted to get back to reality, to the present.” says vocalist Eleni Zafiriadou

Anxious to continue where they left off, the band found themselves returning to drummer and producer-engineer David Husvik’s Hawk Studios in Oslo, Norway to record Loop Of Yesterdays, which was masterminded by long-time collaborators David Husvik and guitarist Christer Espevoll, and recorded in a series of marathon sessions that started before their previous album even left the pressing plant. The band once again called upon Nick Terry (Serena Maneesh, Kvelertak, Turbonegro) to achieve their ideal mix, a highly polished balance of punch and aggression, giving mastering engineer Jens Bogren (Opeth, At The Gates, Between The Buried And Me) a pitch he could knock out of the park. Intrigued by his ability to exist comfortably in both the jazz and metal world, the band reached out to world-class guitarist Alex Skolnick (Testament) to contribute a shredding guest solo on the track 'Detach'. The album artwork was provided by internationally acclaimed German artist Klaus Rinke from his work titled “Um mich herum - Wasser holen, Wasser bringen, Wasser schütten”.

Loop of Yesterdays will be released via Solid State Records in North America and Asia, and via Indie Recordings in the rest of the world on 10th April.

AZUSA are:

Liam Wilson - Bass
Eleni Zafiriadou - Vocals

All-star quintet IMONOLITH release new single 'Dig' ahead of debut album & UK/Euro tour
Imonolith 2020 (Photo by Erich Saide).jpg

Canadian metal powerhouse IMONOLITH have unveiled their third single ‘Dig’, from their highly anticipated debut album State of Being, due out 27th March.

‘Dig’ is available on the following links:
YouTube: https://youtu.be/wqn7hTEOgJ4
Stream/Download: https://lnk.to/Imonolith_dig

With the release of their two previous singles 'Instinct' and ‘Hollow’, IMONOLITH have been receiving worldwide praise that has garnered them a massive amount of streams and attention from the media. Their debut album also includes two very special guest performances from Jens Kidman (Meshuggah) and Swedish vocalist Johannes Eckerström.

‘Dig’ happens to be one of the band's favourite songs on the album. It has a hypnotic pulse throughout, crushing guitar riffs and some well delivered heavy vocals from Jon Howard.

“Lyrically the song is about people who ruin their relationships with others, through their poor decisions. The point lyrically is that you can move on from this type of person, learn a lesson from the situation, let go of the negativity involved and let them deal with the shit show they’ve created. In the end, these people dig their own ‘relationship' graves by burning bridges with others in their lives.” says drummer Ryan ‘RVP’ Van Poederooyen.

IMONOLITH features drummer Ryan ‘RVP’ Van Poederooyen (Devin Townsend Project) guitarist Brian ‘Beav’ Wadell (Devin Townsend Project)Jon Howard (Threat Signal), guitarist Kai Huppunen (Methods of Mayhem, Noise Therapy) and Scott Whalen (Econoline Crush). A collective of heavy-hitting players at the top of their game.

The forthcoming full length State of Being features 10 hook-laden, riff-heavy tracks including 'Hollow', the debut single that made big waves for IMONOLITH straight out of the gate, racking up 216K Spotify streams in 2019. Having spent much of 2019 writing, arranging, recording and fine-tuning State of Being, the band worked incredibly hard to achieve their goal - to make an engaging heavy metal album.

RVP adds: “We spent a lot of time making this record. We wanted it to be done the way we envisioned it. We didn’t cut any corners, from the songwriting right up to the album production and artwork. It’s a debut album that we’re very proud of and excited for the world to hear.”

Their debut album State of Being will be released on March 27th and is available for pre-order/pre-save here: https://lnk.to/stateofbeing
