LOCATIONS, the Brooklyn hard rock duo, return with their exhilarating new single 'Man of God'.

For the 15 years that Tom Whidden and Niko Rummell have known each other, they’ve been making music in one form or another, and LOCATIONS are their most recent musical project.
Formed in 2017, the duo's name is derived from Tom and Niko's shared day job. The two-piece work as film and television scouts and, over years of experience, have come to share effortless musical chemistry.
LOCATIONS are a collaboration of different world-views and how it can be seen eye to eye. On guitar and vocals, Niko is the king of calculated, creative riffs, while Tom offers drums and vocals that are equally spirited. Elements of Jack White, The Black Keys, and Royal Blood combine to powerful effect, and you can't help but rock out - and 'Man of God' being the best, most recent example.
Having created a unique sound that fuses elements of punk rock, pop, hard and garage rock, LOCATIONS pack an arsenal of talent. Their playfulness seamlessly seeps into their music, a brilliant side effect of a friendship founded on making music together.

Original metalcore pioneers MISERY SIGNALS have revealed the video for their new single 'Sunlifter', celebrating the release of their new album Ultraviolet which is released today (7th August 2020) via Basick Records. Ultraviolet marks their first full-length release in seven years, and first with founding vocalist Jesse Zaraska since their 2004 debut, Of Malice and the Magnum Heart.
Check out the video for 'Sunlifter' here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9IslD1BZ2w
Guitarist Ryan Morgan comments on the track:
"There is a lot of playing back and forth between the drums and the strings. There is a rhythm theme throughout the whole song, and when it disappears from the guitars, my brother keeps it pulsing on the kick drum. He's such an impressive drummer on a technical level and obviously he has great moments of flash, but I don't know if people realize the amount of deep writing Branden is doing. I think a lot of people miss layers of details he's putting in. It's one of my favorite things about the band, and 'Sunlifter' is a great example of it. There are fully formed riffs on the drums, it's like the drumming for the song could stand alone as its own complete song."

The most effective, connective and inspired creative expression often comes from those who've abandoned all aspirations beyond the art for the art's sake. At a time when the vast majority of the so-called “scene” is obsessed with careerist goals, popularity and time-tested formulas, MISERY SIGNALS have reemerged from self-imposed hibernation to once again remake the rules and reassert the inherent power of true passion. Over fifteen years since their initial formation, the Midwestern musical collective remains driven by determination, resilience and the urgent need to share their work with their enduringly diehard supporters.
MISERY SIGNALS' 2014 reunion tour, celebrating the ten year anniversary of their debut album Of Malice and the Magnum Heart, sparked a flame among the original members. Despite facing initial challenges, the band ultimately felt healed by the experience of reuniting, and following their Yesterday Is Everything documentary they set to work on their new album. Marking the return of all founding members, Ryan Morgan (guitar), Branden Morgan (drums), Jesse Zaraska (vocals), Stu Ross (guitar) and Kyle Johnson (bass), the band spent the last few years writing and recording one of their finest releases yet and a true return to form, drawing on a resuscitated storm of creativity and camaraderie not witnessed since Of Malice and the Magnum Heart.
"Jesse has this really clear voice, and even in his most vicious screaming the vulnerability gets through first,” says Morgan. “People will hear the record and there won't be any need for decoding the emotional content. 'Sunlifter' was the first song we wrote for the record and it set the tone thematically for the lyrics on the album, which came to be about ambition and striving and all the parts of ourselves that are in contradiction with each other."
Zaraska comments on the lyrical direction of the album, "It is a record that purveys a much greater sense of hope than those that preceded it, and I think that as older individuals this was important from the onset of the process. I tried to create a MISERY SIGNALS record that was lyrically more positive than the previous outings, something that I could get behind as a father. Though there still exists a fair amount of tension and darkness, there shines a great amount more light."
MISERY SIGNALS are the type of group who inspire questions about time signatures and musical gear rather than hairstyles or love lives. Their combination of progressive, technical and atmospheric riffage with melodic prowess, impassioned frenzy and unhinged rock 'n' roll edge helped define part of the New Wave Of American Heavy Metal, a sub-genre that includes the commercially successful likes of All That Remains, Killswitch Engage and Lamb Of God. The transcendent experimentalism of Deftones, the mind-bending pulse of Meshuggah, the power of seminal metalcore masters Shai Hulud, and the adventurously dynamic engagement of “thinking man's metal” band Cave In all exist within the unique blueprint MISERY SIGNALS have pioneered for themselves.
The fact that MISERY SIGNALS have thrived on tours with peers ranging from Between The Buried And Me and The Dillinger Escape Plan to Norma Jean and Emmure speaks volumes as to the band’s singularly broad appeal. Leaders and not followers, innovators and not imitators, MISERY SIGNALS have built a catalogue of stunningly complete sounding albums, including Absent Light (2013), Controller (2008), Mirrors (2006) and Of Malice and the Magnum Heart (2004). MISERY SIGNALS still deliver their boundary pushing music, continuing to fly the flags for authenticity, audience/band communal experience, old-school DIY ethics and impressively unwavering artistic bravery.

THE HIRSCH EFFEKT share their new single / video 'Deklaration', taken from the band's 5th studio album Kollaps, out now via Long Branch Records.
Listen / watch 'Deklaration' here: https://youtu.be/qarZxknKfQg
The band comment: ""Many of the riffs in 'Dekalration' were written by Moritz. Funnily, all three members in the band have different opinions on how hard it's to master the playability of the song. The rhythmic pattern for the Meshuggah-esque part that can be heard shortly before the second chorus already existed already way back when writing Eskapist. It never made it on the album though. The lyrics were written partially in April of last year but only finished much later due to creative interruptions. Some of the lyrics had to be reformed and rewritten because of complications that came along with the usage of quotes and the rightful way of dealing with the subject."
Deklaration follows singles 'Torka', 'Bilen' and 'Noja'.
The trio’s fifth album Kollaps encounters everyday madness with elaborate counterpoints and ludicrous lyric lines. Following the release of last album Eskapist (2017), which charted #21 on the German album charts, and formidable shows at Wacken Open Air, Full Force Festival and as recent headliners at the renowned Euroblast Festival, THE HIRSCH EFFEKT have now spawned their new ogre.
Kollaps is available as a Box-Set, CD/LP+T-Shirt Bundle, CD, 2LP, stream and download. Purchase the album here: thehirscheffekt.lnk.to/kollaps
THE HIRSCH EFFEKT are:
Moritz Schmidt (Drums)

Each honest, heavy, and heartfelt song draws upon his most formative experiences – including his work as a firefighter and the events he witnessed in the line of duty.
From 2014’s 25-minute odyssey 'Stem' (during which no single section is repeated), to the hard-hitting video for his 2015 single 'If We Make It', and 2016’s widely respected LP Transition, MAXI CURNOW's compositional, technical, emotional, and in-studio skills have combined to create an all-encompassing experience, a synergy between intelligent messages, precisely chosen tones, and impactful visuals.
Following the global online success of 'Far Gone', a collaboration with YouTube guitar guru Rabea Massaad (Toska, Dorje), MAXI CURNOW has proven himself ready to emerge onto the global stage. 'Tar & Honey' finds him fully prepared to step once more into the spotlight as a solo artist, to find out what the future has in store.

BITCH FALCON are a name you will not forget, and a band who will not let you forget them. The acclaimed dream-grunge three-piece have announced their debut LP, Staring At Clocks, to be released 6th November via Small Pond Records (Clt Drp, Wild Cat Strike).

The news follows the release of BITCH FALCON's new single 'Gaslight'.

Slightly grungy, slightly dreamy, the rockers have made great waves over the last few years, with acclaim from Dublin Inquirer, Irish Times, The Guardian, Paste Magazine and many more. The trio have played with Girl Band, Fontaines DC, Torche, Black Peaks, Pussy Riot and display touches of St Vincent, 2:54, My Bloody Valentine, The Pixies and Bjork all in one scintillating package.
BITCH FALCON were formed by frontwoman Lizzie Fitzpatrick in Dublin in 2014, and are mainstays of the festival circuit in both Ireland and abroad (packing out rooms in the US, Canada and Europe). Since these freshman days, the lineup has galvanised around the rhythm section of Barry O'Sullivan on Bass and Nigel Kenny on Drums.
From the early days of their first single, 'Wolfstooth' to their most recent release 'Damp Breath', an evolution in sound can be heard as the group perfect and refine their raw, fuzz-laced offerings over six singles and one EP.
There are few things conventional about BITCH FALCON, a band for whom otherworldly is a very fitting adjective - at least on record. The trio's live show must be seen to get a true appreciation for what this band can do, from the high-pitched wails and infinite feedback of Lizzie's guitar and soaring vocals, to the interplay between shattering bass and thunderous drums - there is very little left of any stage untouched. It's a rare group who manage to be so ethereal and devastatingly heavy simultaneously - but then again, BITCH FALCON are an unforgettable name.
Artwork was created by Lizzie Fitzpatrick; mixed by Grammy-nominated engineer Alex Newport (At The Drive In, The Mars Volta, Death Cab for Cutie, The Melvins, Frank Turner) and mastered by Magnus Lindberg.

DARK, (Roopam Garg), is an experimental composer and guitar player who has already carved his own territory of futurism and innovation in music.
Today he releases DARK's debut track ‘Empty Phemonena’ which can be streamed here: save.dark.co/empty
Roopam has also released a video of the track’s highly experimental frenetic section, which gives a taster of his inventive and experimental approach to the instrument: https://youtu.be/QXLzKJYYhAo
Drawing inspiration from numerous strains of human inquiry - architecture, geometry, nature, philosophy, and meditation - DARK’s approach to music reflects the restless and ceaselessly pursuing nature of consciousness.
DARK can be described as the coming together of two opposing worlds - the world of real, organic and tactile signals of the guitar, and the world of abstract, supple ambient soundscapes.
The merging of these two worlds presents music that can best be described through a cloud of sensations and aesthetics: ambient. abstract. drone. experimental. existential. minimal. noise. textures. avant-garde. industrial. surreal. lo-fi. spaces. atmospheres. pulses. organic. fluid. electronic. tape. stillness. meditation. anxiety. sleep. dissonant. introspective. progressive. light. dark.
The music of DARK is less about harmonic content and more about experience. It serves as a lens in which to look at the world through - to change one’s relationship with the internal and external.
Roopam commented “I want my music to integrate with conscious experience. I want the music to almost disappear and permeate the environment.”
Berklee Alumnus Roopam Garg has been turning the heads of musical elites with his unique approach to the guitar and resulting compositions throughout the latter part of the 2010s. Guitar World regards Roopam and his collaborators as "masters of weaving together songs that are simple yet complex, melodic yet highly technical" . Roopam has also joined the exclusive group of virtuoso guitarists endorsed by Tosin Abasi's Abasi Concepts guitar company.
With a clear vision of his own musical evolution, Roopam Garg is set to be one of the most innovative forces of the 2020s with DARK.

Following the worldwide success of initial singles 'Beyond Us', 'Voyage' & 'Bolero', Australia's breathtaking prog rock outfit GLASS OCEAN release their stellar 4th single 'Almaida' from their debut album, The Remnants of Losing Yourself in Someone Else, out 21st August via Wild Thing Records.

Vocalist Tobias Atkins says of the track "Lost in malevolence and spite, sometimes we have travelled too far down a dark road for the light to turn us back. Sometimes, a taste of our own medicine is enough to wake us from the living dead into life. A taste of where our ideals could take us if we dare travel any further down this road. Feeding monsters make them grow until they're all that's left. It feels like nothing can turn you back at this point. Still, making friends with the dark will help you understand it. How it dwells inside you, feeds on your fear and insecurity. But it does not have to control you."
The Remnants of Losing Yourself in Someone Else draws you into the waves of vocalist Tobias Atkins' heartfelt storytelling, which is escorted by trance-inducing heavy grooves, clouds of futuristic synth layers, and far-reaching, punchy guitars. Produced, mixed and mastered by Chris Blancato (Northlane), GLASS OCEAN's new record also showcases the continued collaboration with ex-founding member Nic Pettersen (Northlane) who co-wrote album tracks 'Voyage', 'A Dream From Which I May Not Wake', 'Soul Slumber', 'Divide', 'Pride', and 'Almaida'. Swaying smoothly between genres and influences, the record ushers the listener through the compelling emotions and energy of Tobias Atkins’ personal narrative and magnetising vocal performances.

RADAR FESTIVAL organisers comment:
"I’m not sure it will come as a huge surprise that in light of the current global situation we are postponing RADAR Festival 2020, but we held on as long as we could, whilst constantly evaluating the ever evolving situation. The UK Government is pushing steadily to re-open the country, but we just did not feel it was safe to put our event on.
"Gigs should be packed, in sweaty rooms, people jumping up and down losing their minds to their favourite bands and as it stands we would probably have to seriously reduce our capacity and re-book without any international acts.
"However, looking forward with positivity to 2021, we have launched a crowdfunder - where we will be giving 20% of funds raised to our 2019 crew - with many great rewards (and some to be added!) and we have managed to retain 95% of our lineup with two to be added at a later date.
"2020 sucks, but let’s make 2021 a banger!"
RADAR Festival is held in Guildford, Surrey, on 30-31st July 2021.
With their mixture of international talent and confirmed homegrown success, RADAR Festival position themselves as champions of forward-thinking guitar-led music. Launched in 2019 to acclaim, with performances from Animals As Leaders, Agent Fresco, Rolo Tomassi and more, the new festival is already making a claim as one of the UK's most exciting progressive music events.
