With Burn In Many Mirrors, the band’s third LP, Wode deliver their most expansive, darkest and best work to date - an album that’s every bit as oblique in its approach to black metal as its title suggests. Featuring six new tracks that span forty minutes of meticulously summoned infernal ferocity, Wode are yet again set to scorch the landscape and drape it in the foul reek of death’s fog.

Coming almost four years after the release of their critically acclaimed album Servants of the Countercosmos by the legendary Avantgarde Music, Wode have grown in scope and sound. With the flashes of heavy and death metal glimpsed on previous albums their multifarious third album contains some of the band’s hardest and heaviest material summoning the wild spirit of black metal’s evil-most progenitors whilst fusing it with their special brand of madness that earned the band a devastating reputation on tours which have included Wolves in the Throne Room and Winterfylleth. 

Featuring cover artwork by Santiago Caruso (Star Gazer), Burn In Many Mirrors was recorded between March and August 2020 by Joe Clayton at NØ Studio, and mastered by Magnus Lindberg (Cult Of Luna).

Comments vocalist/guitarist Steven Dobb: "The song is about wanting to disappear, change your identity, escape and become someone else entirely. The wanting and willingness to do anything to not have to live with crushing anxiety and hopelessness. The fear of knowing no matter how far you run there is no escape from yourself."

The video is a chaotic, painful and violent journey of self discovery. Filmed on location throughout London by producer Ben Ogunbiyi, it sees the the main characters running away from themselves and each other.  The one thing that ties them together is the roll of the dice, representing the fragility of life, one giant game of chance. 

Dobb continues,"There is something deeply personal about the video for me. I’ve struggled for years with my mental health and substance abuse. Having to wake up each day and white knuckle your way through until it’s time to sleep again. That shit is exhausting and even on the days you defeat whatever it is that haunts you, it's still there. You can feel it on your skin and in the dark recesses of your subconscious. It never leaves."

New album A Disconnect is a bleak, intense masterpiece that attempts to find reconciliation of personal trauma and pain, creating a distinctive area where spaciousness can be heavy and contact is always uncomfortable.

The result is an album that presents a dichotomy of softness/harshness with an earnestness that never relents over the course of ten tracks, but becomes transformative with repeated listens. Brimming with emotion and at times ethereal wonder, Steven Dobb’s vocals are extraordinarily impassioned and present whilst Lorna Blundell’s drums offer relentless dexterity with a wild, dirty earthiness. With each track comes the chance of an emotive journey to the extremes of existence, there’s a real push-pull between each musical element as Sam Jones’ razor riffs explode like fireworks, flooding the room with light whilst Charlie Seisay’s driving bass underpins each vast soundscape. Shades of Deftones, Nirvana and Chelsea Wolfe combine on a dynamic LP that terrifies, haunts and inspires all at once, a key element of why The Hyena Kill continue to sound exciting and alive.

Scottish quartet FROM SORROW TO SERENITY have released their new single, 'Red Mist'. It's the second single taken from their forthcoming EP Trifecta, to be released 23rd April 2021 via Long Branch Records.

"Unlike previous releases, 'Red Mist' started as a song title before we wrote any instrumentation or lyrics for it," says guitarist Steven Jones. He adds: "Based on the title alone, we knew the song had to be our heaviest yet. Something sporadic and intense which ebbs and flows, and we ended up with a song that almost mimics each emotional phase when 'seeing red' - culminating in a fit of rage. It was a new challenge for us and in the end, we couldn't be happier with the final result. The song also includes a full orchestral accompaniment throughout its duration and is the most we've experimented with synth. With 'Red Mist' we were keen to expand on the sound we had already created for ourselves, and I believe we've achieved that."

The new EP follows on from the band's previous LP Reclaim, released March 2019 via Long Branch Records.

Having unveiled their new and improved sound with stand-alone single 'Golden Age' in 2017, FROM SORROW TO SERENITY followed up with relentless touring - including sold out UK tours with Jinjer and Heart of a Coward respectively - before announcing their signing to Long Branch Records and premiering the first single from Reclaim in February 2018.

LANDMVRKS formed in 2014 in Marseille, France, and are now comprised of Florent Salfati on vocals, Rudy Purkart on bass guitar, Nicolas Exposito and Paul C. Wilson on guitars, with Kévin D’Agostino on drums.

The band spent two years writing and recording material and playing local shows, building their reputation within the French metalcore scene with a series of singles. In May 2016, LANDMVRKS self-released their debut album Hollow, which was produced entirely by Salfati and Exposito. Following the release of Hollow the band ventured on tours throughout Europe, enticing new fans with their modern metalcore style, peppered with hardcore riffs and catchy choruses. The record also landed them slots on big festivals, strengthening their reputation even further.

In 2018 LANDMVRKS signed a record deal with Arising Empire, releasing their second studio album Fantasy. Continuing to build their name with their own fresh take on metalcore, LANDMVRKS went on to travel the world, playing in Japan, embarking on several headline tours and supporting While She Sleeps and Stray From The Path on a UK/European tour.

While they were out on the road LANDMVRKS focused on writing brand new material, which showcases a powerful new direction from the French band, one that is more mature, melodic, and deeper than before.

LANDMVRKS' UK/European tour has been postponed to October/November 2021 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and European restrictions. The date in Nuremberg has been moved to Schweinfurt - tickets will be refunded and cannot be transferred to the new show.

Fronted by ex-Tardive Dyskinesia vocalist Manthos Stergiou, CALYCES are a new force on the Greek metal scene.

The soon-to-be-released Impulse to Soar blends prog metal in the way it was shaped through the 00’s, with the finest elements of classic progressive rock from the 70’s, but all with a very 2020 twist. Low-tuned heavy riffs meld with a barrage of polyrhythmic attacks, atmospheric passages, and full-on groove, melody, and energy. A scintillating and invigorating first step on to the scene; a record that will add to the collections of all supporters of modern-age Mastodon, Alice In Chains, Intronaut, King Crimson, Baroness, Tool, Gojira. 

Additional flair and artistry was provided by Jørgen Munkeby (Shining) with a saxophone solo on 'Unfair Labour' and of Chrysa Tsaltampasi (Spineless, Bella Fuzz) with vocals on 'Beyond Sight'. Mastered by Grammy award-winning engineer, Alan Douches (Mastodon, Kvelertak, The Dillinger Escape Plan etc) Impulse to Soar was recorded in various studios around Athens with these carefully selected collaborators in order to achieve the band's desired natural, organic sound. Human substance intertwines with artistic complexity to create a thrilling and exhilaratingly impressive debut full-length.

A new vehicle has formed; a metaphor for rebirth and new shape of life. Calyces - the sepals that form a protective layer around a budding flower - is a fitting name for this most exquisite and yet powerful of groups. Forming in 2018, the quartet are made up of well-known Greek musicians, beyond Manthos: Alexis Stavropoulos (drums), Giannis Golfis (guitar) and Stelios Tragos (bass), all of them already key members in the bands Insect Radio and Revenge Of The Giant Face.

The stunning artwork for Impulse to Soar was painted by Maria Stergiou, the vocalist's sister.
