Slay Duggee & Animal Schoolbus collaborate on new single
unnamed (11).png

The UK's number one metal band for kids Slay Duggee have released a music video for their latest song 'Round and Round', which features brutal vocals from nine year old Princess Beast from father/daughter grindcore project from Connecticut, US, Animal Schoolbus.

Watch the video to 'Round & Round' here: https://youtu.be/3JdD061g7uE

This hardcore version of a classic circle-based nursery rhyme will appear on an upcoming Slay Duggee EP later in 2021.

Black Shuck of Slay Duggee commented “It’s been a full year with no moshing. Metal gigs are starting again and kids will need a brutal circle pit anthem. Princess Beast’s voice is the ultimate pit starter.”

Princess Beast of Animal Schoolbus commented “I’ve never been in a circle pit but I reeeally reeeeeally want to. I do martial arts and I bet that would help. Cartwheels and spin hook kicks are my favorite.”

Ricky Bow Wow of Slay Duggee commented “I think we took moshing and circle pits for granted. Luckily as dogs we have built in pit trainers… our tails. But humans don’t have that luxury and no natural circle pit ability… luckily we’ve just realised this new song that gives step by step instructions… ’ROUND AND ROUND’. Hopefully this is going to get people up and pitting, and ready for our next gigs. Our next plan is to upgrade the Circle Pit to a full blown rock n roll cyclone”

Princess Beast concluded “It was fun to do a song with Slay Duggee. I got to see the video and it’s really cool. The kids at school aren’t going to believe it.”

Backing vocals are provided by Andy Baz of classic Essex hardcore band Raiden.

Slay Duggee will be teaching kids about moshing and circle pits with My First Metal Gig live shows:

2nd October - Craufurd Arms, Milton Keynes, UK
3rd October - Esquires, Bedford, UK
21st November - Colchester Arts Centre, UK
4th December - Picturedrome, Northampton, UK
5th December - The Venue, Southend-on-sea, UK

Going to Grammy’s House 2021 by Animal Schoolbus will be released on 30th April on Lawnmowerjetpack Records. Including the single 'I Can Do One-Handed Cartwheels'. Pre-order here.

Slay Duggee are on a mission to give kids their first taste of metal. The five heavy metal dogs from Essex transform saccharine kids’ songs, TV theme tunes and nursery ear-worms into full power hardcore songs. Only 48 hours after forming in early 2018, Steve Lamacq played their single ‘Stick’ on BBC Radio 6 Music and dubbed Slay Duggee as the "Lords of Toddler Metal."

Fuelled by a viral cover of ‘Baby Shark’, the Essex band have had over 40 million video views online and have given thousands of kids their first taste of live hardcore at their My First Metal Gig shows.

Slay Duggee have previously collaborated with rock gods such as TesseracT guitarist James Monteith, and Nekrogoblikon vocalist and songwriter Nicky “Scorpion” Calonne with their cover of The Lego Movie’s 'Everything Is Awesome'. And TesseracT singer Daniel Tompkins on their Christmas single 'Walking In The Air'.

More information on Animal Schoolbus:

Animal Schoolbus are a father/daughter grindcore band from Norwich CT, fronted by 9 year old Princess Beast with music by her Dad, Charlie Sad-Eyes from Crawl Below.

Their first music was recorded when Princess Beast was only two years old.

Kaonashi announce debut album and stream new single
Kaonashi_PR1resize.jpg

US emo mathcore quintet Kaonashi have announced their long-awaited, highly-anticipated debut LP.

Dear Lemon House, You Ruined Me: Senior Year will be released 21st May via Equal Vision Records/Unbeaten Records (USA) and Rude Records (Europe).

Pre-order: https://kaonashi.lnk.to/evening

The album serves as a follow-up to Kaonashi’s 2018 concept EP, Why Did You Do It?, continuing the story of their character Jamie and the people they interact with through Lemon House High. The first glimpse of the album comes with the chaotically impassioned single 'An Evening of Moving Pictures With Scooter Corkle', out now.

Stream: https://kaonashi.lnk.to/evening

Watch: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywqXXtKB9tg

The video for the song, directed by Jesse Korman (The Number Twelve Looks Like You), introduces Jamie, alongside the characters Morgan and Casey, and shows how their personalities intertwine.

On the single, vocalist Peter Rono commented: “When it came time to pick a single, I wanted to choose something that fully explained us as a band. It’s a song about love and the doubt that comes with it. We wrote this song together and I think it really shows, it’s also my first time really singing outside of a chorus. This will be a lot of people’s first impression of Kaonashi and I couldn’t be more proud of it.”

Philadelphia’s Kaonashi want to create change. The quintet — Peter Rono (vocals), Ryan Paolilli (drums), August Axcelson (bass/vocals), Alex Hallquist (guitar/vocals), and Roger Alvarez (guitar) — aspire to generate compassion, understanding, and empathy through art. They understand that music is and has always been a force for bringing people together. They’ve made it their mission to leverage the platform that music provides to change the world around them for the better.

Dear Lemon House, You Ruined Me: Senior Year continues the story-building efforts of Kaonashi’s 2018 EP, Why Did You Do It?, by expanding on the character of Jamie, the androgynous protagonist of the group’s catalogue. As the teen enters their final year of high school, Jamie feels the pressure to succeed and make something of their life. The record follows Jamie through their first day of school, romantic relationship with Casey, and the turmoils that come with being an American teenager.

“We want this record to make people anxious,” says Rono. “We want them to feel a sense of urgency. If they catch themselves thinking that they could do something to change the story of the album, then maybe — just maybe — they will take steps to make a difference in the world around them.”

The heavy storyline on the album is accompanied by an expansive sound, jumping off the band’s self-coined genre of “emo mathcore.” While those math rock driven moments and cathartic lyrics are still prominent, the band adds in elements of post-hardcore, progressive rock, and even an acoustic ballad, making for a diverse listen. The writing process was a collaborative experience as the group locked themselves away in a cabin in Maine for two weeks, later returning back to the state to record with producer Evan Sammons. Among the band’s groove-heavy chaos found throughout Dear Lemon House, You Ruined Me: Senior Year, there is a clear, resounding message that Kaonashi hopes their audience will take to heart: it’s all about listening.

Hail The Sun stream new video 'Misfire' and release album
HTSshot1.jpeg

Californian quartet Hail The Sun have released new single / video 'Misfire', taken from their album, New Age Filth, released 16th April via Rude Records (UK/EU) Equal Vision (NA).

Watch the video to 'Misfire' here: https://youtu.be/xGQYE_epZG4

Purchase New Age Filth here: newagefilth.com and stream here: https://hts.lnk.to/newagefilth

Speaking about the track vocalist and drummer Donovan Melero states, “'Misfire' is about feeling so detached from everyone that even while going through the motions of normal behaviors, it feels like you're watching yourself as an outsider. We often try to validate ourselves in ways we think are necessary.”

'Made Your Mark' follows previous singles 'Made Your Mark', 'Domino' and 'Parasitic Cleanse', giving a taste of the expansive and genre-defying sounds found across New Age Filth.

When Hail The Sun entered the studio to record what would become New Age Filth, they knew they were setting out to make their most collaborative and diverse album yet. The band, consisting of Donovan Melero (vocals/drums), Aric Garcia (guitar), John Stirrat (bass) and Shane Gann (guitar), spent a month living in an apartment attached to producer Kris Crummett’s studio which provided a much different experience from the creation of prior albums.

The ten songs on New Age Filth showcase the band’s post-hardcore roots blended with elements of alternative and progressive rock, proving the band’s ability to be extremely technical in instrumentation while also unleashing some of the catchiest hooks they’ve ever created. The lyrics, penned by Melero, centre around the theme of reflection, weaving through painful and emotional experiences of love, cynicism, and touching on how awful humans can be to one another.

Having sold through nine vinyl variants before the album was released, the anticipation for the record marks a milestone in the band’s career not only from a fan perspective but for the band to share these songs and watch as they take on purpose.

Finnish melodeath sextet Bloodred Hourglass release new single 'Veritas'
Bloodred Hourglass - Photo by Outi Puhakka - Outokuva.jpg

Finnish melodic death metallers BLOODRED HOURGLASS have released new single 'Veritas'. This is the second taster of the band's upcoming new album, which is due for release later this year via Out Of Line Music.

Stream/purchase 'Veritas' here: https://bloodredhourglass.lnk.to/Veritas

The band comment: "When the pre-production of the album was almost finished, Eero (guitar) got the idea of making a song with absolutely no holds barred. All the parts were composed in one rush of inspiration. 'Veritas' carries a ton of intensity with its adrenaline-filled riff and super-fast pace, and it really is a straight-forward raging roller coaster-like nothing we've done before. Lyrically it is very much a temptation-filled fairy tale all gone down too well.”

On the new album, they continue: "We were in a new situation since the song writing responsibility was divided due to member changes after the previous album. Overall, we wanted to create something that's completely new and fresh for us but also maintain the familiar BRHG sound. We're really happy with the results on the final record and it's safe to say the end result is more than we, and hopefully all of you, even expected."

Check out the video for previous single 'Drag Me The Rain' here: https://youtu.be/kEba9KgIBcw

BLOODRED HOURGLASS' new album is expected to be a melodic death metal rollercoaster, with an epic feel and a very modern approach.

"Musically it's the most diverse BRHG album we've created. It contains our slowest song ever but also the most aggressive headbanger too. It's filled with sadness and joy, brutality and catchiness - a perfect melodeath rollercoaster just the way we wanted it to be," states guitarist Lauri Silvonen.

Previous album Godsend saw BLOODRED HOURGLASS climb towards the top of the Finnish metal scene, with their signature blend of melodic death and thrash metal. Stay tuned for more details on the band's upcoming album.

The band comment on the new album:

“This album is about telling stories that are presented through the lens of hindsight, regret and looking back. There are songs that celebrate life when faced with death, and others that speak to the choices we make about how we live our lives. The fear of love, newfound respect for life and the covering up of depression are all subjects that rear their head. The Greatest Mistake Of My Life exercises emotion in many ways, and that was an important thing for us to do, because emotion isn’t rigid – it’s not just love or joy or sadness – it’s a lot of things.”

Greek alt-metal/grunge group ΛΔΛΜ release new single and announce Sun LP
ADAM PROMO PHOTO A 2021resize.jpg

Greece's beguiling quintet ΛΔΛΜ (ADAM) have streamed their new single/video 'Super Silver Haze', and announced the physical release date of their brilliant LP, Sun.

Watch 'Super Silver Haze' here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2MQnenLhIRM

Pre-order here: https://adamwolfpack.bandcamp.com/album/sun
Digital Downloads/Streaming: https://smarturl.it/ubdjzt

ΛΔΛΜ are an esoteric and captivating group, straddling the worlds of grunge, post-rock, alternative metal, psychedelic and stoner rock. They return with Sun, originally released 21 August 2020 but now seeing a physical re-release 4th June 2021 via famed local label Venerate Industries.

Sun is an ode to our star as a grey line on the horizon, the hope and anticipation for better days that may never even come and the spiritual liberation through a psychedelic journey between the macrocosm and the microcosm.

A concept album, Sun’s theme of fatal hope can be heard throughout, not least on the apocalyptically weighty, monolithic closer, ‘Phase #3: Eclipse’, the conclusion of a mighty 3-song saga detailing a psychedelic trip. The protagonist of the LP begins the saga in another plane of consciousness, overviewing all the problems in his life, before moving to ‘Phase #2’, defeat with hope and finally returning to earth with ‘Phase #3’.

This trilogy is an encapsulation of ΛΔΛΜ’s approach – wide-ranging, ambitious, unearthly and grounded all at once; the culmination of seven years of writing.

Bearing elements as disparate as Dopelord, Deftones, Kyuss, Paradise Lost, A Perfect Circle, and Soundgarden, ΛΔΛΜ’s new LP was self-produced with Stelios Efendakis (Gardenbox), recorded at the Haus of ΛΔΛΜ, and mixed and mastered at Ritual Studios, Athens. Since Sun’s digital release it has amassed over 300,000 streams worldwide, and will see further success with its physical re-release.

Panagiotis “Takis” Chaloulakos: Vocals / Guitars
Giannis Fourikis: Guitars / Backing Vocals
Thanos Micropoulos: Keyboards / Slide Guitar / Percussions

Finnish metalcore eccentrics One Morning Left release video for new single 'Creatvres'
One Morning Left press shot.jpg

Finnish metalcore eccentrics One Morning Left return with a retro vengeance with new single 'Creatvres', taken from their forthcoming album Hyperactive, due for release on 21st May 2021 via Arising Empire.

Watch the video for 'Creatvres' here: https://youtu.be/gvlAfxcLb0s

Stream / purchase 'Creatvres' here: https://OneMorningLeft.lnk.to/ruthlessresistance

One Morning Left take a completely new direction on latest single 'Creatvres', a danceable rock song about unity and empowerment. Groovy drum beats, heavy guitars, and bright synths create a solid backdrop for the two vocalists to shine over. "A gem of modern music," as remarked by bassist Miska Sipiläinen.

'Creatvres' is one of poppier tracks in the band’s catalogue. "Can’t wait to see which ice hockey team adopts this as their theme song!”, keyboardist Touko Keippilä adds.

Pre-order Hyperactive here: https://OneMorningLeft.lnk.to/hyperactive

One Morning Left’s fourth album marks their first new material in five years. On Hyperactive the group begin a whole new chapter in their story, drawing inspiration from retro electronic and video game music, as well as 80's hard rock, while staying true to their heavier roots.

Changes are happening not only in the musical style, but also in their line-up. Returning from the cast of 2016’s Metalcore Superstars are frontman Mika Lahti, singer/guitarist Leevi Luoto and drummer Niko Hyttinen. Additional firepower is provided by new faces Tuukka Ojansivu on guitar and Miska Sipiläinen on bass guitar, as well as the return-to-form of keyboard player Touko Keippilä from the band’s original Panda <3 Penguin line-up.

The album shapes up to be the artistic peak of One Morning Left's musical "blood mountain": epic lyrics carried by Luoto’s soaring vocal melodies, contrasted by the distinctive, gritty sound of Lahti, all accompanied by breathtaking keyboard leads, blisteringly fast guitars, masterful bass riffs and feverish drum parts.

With the release of Hyperactive, One Morning Left look to add to their growing global fanbase. Having gathered extensive live performance experience playing countless shows in Finland, touring mainland Europe, Russia, and the Baltics, as well as Iceland and Japan, the group are planning to take their entertaining and energetic live show on the road in the near future.

The band conclude: "Join us on our quest to make the world a bit more epic!"

Founded in 2008 in Vaasa, Finland, One Morning Left are well known for their unique blend of electro, hardcore and metalcore influences as well as their entertaining and energetic live shows where absolutely anything can happen.

One Morning Left have played shows with bands including Amaranthe, Machinae Supremacy, Adept, Protest The Hero, Fear Of Domination, Turmion Kätilöt and We Butter The Bread With Butter. The band have also graced the Finnish festival season, playing renowned festivals like Tuska Open Air and Rockfest.

One Morning Left's debut albumThe Bree-Teenz (2011) reached #30 on Finland's official album charts, and was followed by their sophomore album Our Sceneration at #45 in 2013.

Sydney deathcore quintet To The Grave release crushing new single on album release day
unnamed (97).jpg

Sydney, AUS deathcore quintet To The Grave have released crushing new single 'Kill Shelter', taken from their new, Epilogue, out today via Unique Leader Records.

Premiered via Knotfest, watch the lyric video for 'Kill Shelter' here: https://youtu.be/TbNXPEG7A6w

Stream / purchase Epilogue here: https://orcd.co/epilogue

On the new record, vocalist Dane Evans told Knotfest: "Epilogue has arrived: Chapter 1 starts here. 19 songs spanning the past 2 years of To The Grave, a rollercoaster through honest frustration, desperation and finally hopelessness. Our leap into a void of closure.

"Our aim with this record was to look back on
Global Warning and what it did for us. To celebrate with friends and fans that helped us move mountains and to reach new audiences with a full, definitive collection that demonstrates what that album would look like in an extended format. Some of these new songs were dusted skeletons from years prior brought to life in 2020, others were written in the moment, ignited by both the things we'd lost and the things we'd gained in recent times."

To The Grave's objective has always been to create sonically and thematically heavy music, charged with a grim, confronting message. Featuring their entire self-released debut album Global Warning, plus seven new songs, Epilogue is a huge 19 tracks of intense brutality.

After releasing the No Lives Matter extended play and touring Australia relentlessly with the likes of Alpha Wolf, Justice For The Damned and Gravemind, To The Grave put themselves firmly on the global metal map in 2019 with Global Warning. Closing 2019 as main support for Vulvodynia on their Australian run and opening a show for Cattle Decapitation elevated them further, earning them sold out headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney.

2021 is the year To The Grave take to the global stage. Be ready.

Resolve release video for new single 'Seasick Sailor'
Resolve 2021 Resize.jpg

Resolve have released a video for their brand new single 'Seasick Sailor', out today (16th April 2021) via Arising Empire.

Check out the video for 'Seasick Sailor' here: https://youtu.be/6bqXC_UwlmU

Stream/purchase 'Seasick Sailor' here: https://resolve.lnk.to/seasicksailor

Resolve comment on their new single:

"Lost at sea.

"Little did we know when writing this line, nearly two years ago now, that we were somehow forecasting the shape of the world in 2021. Back then, we were feeling like little sailors who had just embarked on a journey that’s bigger than themselves, that journey being the writing of our debut album.

"But today, it feels like everybody’s lost at sea. Our world has been shattered by an invisible monster, and we’re just drifting away, slowly but surely gathering our strengths to face a still uncertain future.

'"Seasick Sailor' is a story that can probably speak to anyone at some point in their life, and especially now. When life feels like an insurmountable ocean, do you take a deep breathe and dive, or do you turn round?

"Sonically, we’ve never been a band that settles for a formula, and this track is no exception. The song starts off with Anthony’s vocals at their barest, and an upbeat, almost cheerful vibe that doesn’t sound like anything we’ve done in the past. Obviously, it quickly picks up into more familiar heaviness, and what we consider to be our strongest chorus hook yet, but the overall vibe is leaning more towards the rock side on this one for a change.

"From the first demo, we knew that we wanted this song to be the first release for the new era of Resolve. Sure, we could have played it extra safe and release a fast and intense track that sounded like our most successful release yet (2019’s 'Of Silk and Straw'), but we also learned that more often, what pays off and truly resonates with people is being honest, raw and real. And ‘Seasick Sailor' is exactly that."

Discussing the video, they add:

"How do you tell on-screen stories of sailing, ships and thunderstorms without having the budget for a Pirates of the Caribbean sequel? We went for a "say-more-with-less" approach, using a bathtub to symbolise the ocean. From there, the story takes a more personal approach and invites the viewer to see past the initial story, and hopefully feel inspired to let go of fear and take the big jumps in life."

Dipping your toes before jumping in at the deep end is something that will reward you in more ways than you realise. Those extra hours spent wondering, “what if?” will all be worth it when you figure out the best way to make it a reality, rather than pushing too soon and being left to wonder, “what if we had done this differently?”

Resolve are a band that have been savouring every second of their journey so far and biding their time - observing, learning, building - and making sure that every single aspect of how they’ve wanted the band to function was fully realised before delivering it to the world.

Starting their journey back in 2016 after their previous projects parted ways and their intentions set on this being their forever band, vocalist Anthony Diliberto, bassist Robin Mariat and drummer Nathan Mariat have spent the last half a decade tinkering with the formula that feels the most suited to them. Making their first mark in 2017 with debut EP Reverie, before following with standalone single ‘Carmela’ in 2018, it wasn’t until 2019 that they felt truly at home in their sound.

That was in the form of Pendulum, a collection of three songs that not only represented the beautifully bludgeoning and densely expansive sound that was resting in the back of their heads, but also found them appearing on Spotify’s New Core, New Metal Tracks and Kickass Metal playlists.

But now is their time to show you what they have been working on - and it is quite the spectacle.
