US progressive metallers Alustrium stream new single 'Join the Dead'
unnamed - 2021-05-13T121602.286.jpg

Progressive death metal quintet Alustrium have revealed their new single/video 'Join the Dead', taken from their highly-anticipated new album A Monument To Silence, out 18th June via Unique Leader Records.

Premiered via Metal Injection, you can watch the video here: https://youtu.be/WNl89eu4BjU

The band comment: "Conceptually, 'Join the Dead' sets the stage for much of the story that is to come throughout A Monument to Silence. It was really important to us that the concept be matched instrumentally and vocally, and the result is a mix of chaos up front and heavier, darker instrumentation later in the song. The lyrics detail feelings of hopelessness and helplessness, as well as the initial consequences of rash decisions made in response. Like the rest of the record, while there is a literal, objective interpretation of the lyrics, we’ve also tried to create something that can be experienced subjectively and be meaningful to anyone."

Emerging from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Alustrium are introducing the world to their unique form of progressive death metal. With intense, technical riffs and soulful ear-bending solos, Alustrium create a unique blend between melody and fierce brutality that sets them apart from the norm. Following up their 2020 EP Insurmountable, their forthcoming concept record A Monument to Silence further pushes the boundaries of contemporary heavy music.

Elements of Between the Buried and Me, Necrophagist, The Haunted, and Black Crown Initiate combine to create a thrilling an exhilarating effect. A melodic, intense, technically-gifted group, A Monument to Silence is an instantly gratifying record, that goes far beyond the already impressive sum of its parts.

In their history, Alustrium have opened for a wealth of similarly-talented bands, including Between the Buried and Me, Rivers of Nihil, Scar Symmetry, Suffocation, Dying Fetus, and Deicide.

The band comment: "'The Scythe' is the fourth in the series of Evil videos. It is one of the most brutal songs from the album. This time we are invoking the spirit of Bonecarver through witchcraft. The video was recorded by RC visuals in April this year in Madrid."

Formerly known as Cannibal Grandpa, the quartet return with their most uncompromisingly brutal record yet, and a new name to represent their reinvention.

Formed in 2014, Bonecarver released their first demos on YouTube and started playing live under the name Cannibal Grandpa. In 2015 they released their first album and played with bands as Rise of The Northstar, Here Comes The Kraken and Resurrection Fest, and embarked on their first European tour in 2017 in France, Belgium and The Netherlands. The same year they released their second album Septum Signa Inferno via Slam Worldwide, with Rok from Within Destruction featuring as a guest for a single 'Mandinga'. In 2017 they played more than 50 shows in Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Poland and Czech Republic, Download Festival in Madrid, DeathFeast in Germany and Fall In The Brawl Festival in the UK.

The quartet have always been fascinated by serial killers and their unique combination of innovative extreme metal styles and murder tales quickly took them to the top of the Spanish death metal underground. They represent Madrid’s brutality at its best. They are determined leaders of modern Spanish extreme metal.

In summer of 2020 they signed a deal with Unique Leader Records and changed their name to Bonecarver. "Sometimes we must destroy standards in order to rebuild. Destroy the ordinary to create extraordinary new start, create a fresh moniker from the ruins."

Bonecarver will appear at Resurrection Festival, Spain, on 4th June 2021, with more dates to be announced.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Arising Empire are excited to welcome Alleviate to their roster, a band that stands for strength that’s hidden deep inside of us all. Alleviate consists of five successful musicians from five different bands in different genres of metal music.

Alleviate formed during the pandemic in 2020, and will launch their first single 'Die For Me' on 21st May. Watch the teaser here: https://youtu.be/XbYlXYNzRPs

The mix of five different perspectives makes Alleviate very special. They combine the best of technical metalcore, deathcore, djent and post hardcore in one powerful and beautiful piece of art. Evolving guitar riffs and heavy breakdowns combined with deathcore vocals and catchy choruses are what makes Alleviate stand out from the crowd. All five musicians are highly accomplished, having proven themselves numerous times in other bands and collectively playing hundreds of shows. As soon as the world returns to normal Alleviate will hit the stage and take over the scene.

Their debut single 'Die For Me' is inspired by personal experiences and reflects on how to find your own strength during the darkest periods of life, and overcome deep depression and anxiety attacks.

The name Alleviate itself represents what the band basically stands for; giving hope and spreading a positive message into the world.

Cold Night For Alligators sign to Arising Empire and announce new single/video 'No Connection'

Danish progressive metal quartet Cold Night For Alligators have announced their signing to Arising Empire. The respected, forward-thinking band have captivated audiences across Europe and even the far east of India with their innovative take on the genre.

The band comment on the signing:

"As soon as we got in contact with Arising Empire, looked at their roster and talked to the guys, we knew it would be a good fit. We’re familiar with and have played with several bands on their roster, their attitude is killer and we can’t wait to work with Tobias, Robin and Michael to let the world hear our new stuff. We believe a lot of new people will find the new stuff enjoyable, and Arising Empire are the right team to help us let them know!"

Cold Night For Alligators have also announced their new single/video 'No Connection', due for release via the label on 21st May 2021.

Having explored dense, technical prog-metal on their two previous full-lengths, upcoming single 'No Connection' shows a more mature band with a cleaner, softer sound, focused on well-crafted, innovative elements with a progressive edge. The clean, minimalist aesthetic of the artwork mirrors 'No Connection', which dials back the heaviness where needed, to allow the songwriting and myriad of creative details shine.

The band discuss their new single and musical direction:

"This whole creative process was a huge jump for us. We agreed that we would listen less to the outside world and just create the coolest stuff the four of us could think of. The result is a softer and more mature sound that really reflects where we are as people and creatively.

"While we’re still a metal band at heart, it’s the least metal we’ve ever been and we love it. It’s proggy, but not weird for the sake of weird.

"The process was very collaborative and helped us really grow as songwriters. We’re a core creative group of four, but worked with really cool outside people on synths, piano, violin and saxophone, because we felt the song needed it and the foundation was strong enough to let others be creative."

Irish post-rock duo Bicurious stream new video, 'Palapalapa'
Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Dublin-based post-rock duo Bicurious have streamed their brilliantly infectious new video 'Palapalapa', which will be released as a single on 14th May.

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/H5RK_7sa5P0

Pre-save the single here: https://distrokid.com/hyperfollow/bicurious/palapalapa-2

The band comment: "Releasing this song is the beginning of a huge step for us. It is charged with personal meaning, and we can't wait to tell people the whole story."

After a number of singles, an EP, and over five million Spotify streams, Bicurious are ready to make 2021 their own.

The band have been hard at work on their debut LP since 2019, and will announce details soon.

A gloriously inventive twopiece, Bicurious stand head and shoulders above the rest of the genre with their brilliant ability to harness melody - hummable hooks buried within mostly instrumental rock. 'Palapalapa' is a glorious example of this - with an instantly catchy tune that guarantees instant repetition.

At once insightful, self-aware, technically proficient but above all immediately accessible, Bicurious are a band with an edge and clear, confident identity. The band are Gavin Purcell (drums) and Taran Plouzané (guitar); a confused, loud, experimental two-piece from Dublin, Ireland and Brest, France. Bicurious’ songs often feature vocal samples from political figures, which aim to bring to light social injustice in Ireland and beyond. The band have built a loyal fanbase through extensive touring and have won over crowds both at home and abroad, establishing themselves as a recognisable force on the European instrumental rock scene.

Known for riff sing-alongs, grooves that open up mosh pits and get heads banging, and the undeniable chemistry between the two remarkable musicians, Bicurious have taken their captivating live show from sweaty private rehearsal rooms to festival stages across Europe for the last four years.

Formed in 2016, Bicurious released their debut singles ‘Sugar Beats’ and ‘T.O.I’ in 2017.
Their debut EP I’m So Confused was crowd-funded by fans through an Indiegogo campaign and a packed-out fundraiser gig in 2017, just a year and a half after the band’s formation. The EP was released in 2018, and the band celebrated the release with a sold-out show in Whelan's, Dublin. The lead single from the EP, ‘Sleep’, has clocked up just under three million streams on Spotify.

In March 2019 the band released the single ‘I Don't Do Drugs, I Just Sweat a Lot.’ They toured the UK and Ireland in support of the release, followed by festival appearances at Knockanstockan, Vantastival, Electric Picnic and more in Summer 2019.

Bicurious embarked on their biggest tour to date in the Winter of 2019, which took them from Ireland to the UK, France and Italy. They are scheduled to appear at ArcTanGent festival (Bristol, UK) and Portals Festival (London, UK) later this year.

Vulvodynia sign to Unique Leader, announce album and unveil lyric video
Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

South African death metal six-piece Vulvodynia have released new single / lyric video 'The Shadowy Descent of Gaia', and announced the release of new album Praenuntius Infiniti, out 17th September via Unique Leader Records.

Watch the lyric video here: https://youtu.be/ZLCwCXb77QA

Pre-order Praenuntius Infiniti here: https://orcd.co/praenuntiusinfiniti

The band comment on signing to Unique Leader: "We're extremely excited to announce signing to the legendary label Unique Leader Records. Joining this label has been a dream for us since the band first started and it feels incredible to be on such an insane roster."

An unending sea of carnage, a God-turned-beast devouring everything within its path, an epic, sprawling tale of the consumption of galaxies and their inhabitants - and the duality of battling deities that takes place to bring the reign of Praenuntius to an end. What does this all mean? Simply put, it means Vulvodynia - South Africa’s premium death metal export - are back with Praenuntius Infiniti, their fourth full-length release and a label signing to boot. Completing the tale established in their critically acclaimed 2015 EP Finis Omnium Ignorantiam, Praenuntius Infiniti is one hour of flesh-melting, bone-busting death metal, infused with slamming elements and spine-shrinking breakdowns that capture the very crux of heavy, intense music. Produced by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy), the band’s Unique Leader Records debut displays Vulvodynia’s continued maturation and incorporation of melodic, technical and hyper aggressive elements into their backbone of brutal slamming death metal, to achieve what stands as their most diverse, engaging and immolating offer to date.

On new album Praenuntius Infiniti, they continue: "This album really takes the Vulvodynia sound to the next level and incorporates some new genre styles that we grew up on such as tech and melodeath. It was an incredible challenge writing and recording this album during a pandemic, but we put our hearts and souls into this release and we're honoured to present an album that we're extremely proud of."

On the concept, the band conclude: "Praenuntius Infiniti tells the story of an interdimensional godlike being and his quest for ultimate power. After being cast out into the abyss by the elder Gods, Praenuntius begins devouring all of the known Multiverse on his journey to divine omnipotence. At the end of our 2015 release Finis Omnium Ignorantiam the earth gets eaten and travels through centuries of darkness down his gullet into the eternal wasteland of galaxies. The heavens are slowly torn asunder as the Gods scramble for a plan to defeat him. Battles rage and drama unfolds as the earth and other planets within his belly try to fight off the ruthless invasion of his spawn. Shall the Gods prevail or shall Praenuntius devour all!?"

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Greece's beguiling quintet ΛΔΛΜ (ADAM) have streamed their new lyric video 'Enter: Oblivion', ahead of the physical release date of their brilliant LP, Sun (4th June, Venerate Industries).

Digital downloads/streaming: https://smarturl.it/ubdjzt

ΛΔΛΜ are an esoteric and captivating group, straddling the worlds of grunge, post-rock, alternative metal, psychedelic and stoner rock. They return with Sun, originally released 21 August 2020 but now seeing a physical re-release 4th June 2021 via famed local label Venerate Industries.

Sun is an ode to our star as a grey line on the horizon, the hope and anticipation for better days that may never even come and the spiritual liberation through a psychedelic journey between the macrocosm and the microcosm.

A concept album, Sun’s theme of fatal hope can be heard throughout, not least on the apocalyptically weighty, monolithic closer, ‘Phase #3: Eclipse’, the conclusion of a mighty 3-song saga detailing a psychedelic trip. The protagonist of the LP begins the saga in another plane of consciousness, overviewing all the problems in his life, before moving to ‘Phase #2’, defeat with hope and finally returning to earth with ‘Phase #3’.

This trilogy is an encapsulation of ΛΔΛΜ’s approach – wide-ranging, ambitious, unearthly and grounded all at once; the culmination of seven years of writing.

Bearing elements as disparate as Dopelord, Deftones, Kyuss, Paradise Lost, A Perfect Circle, and Soundgarden, ΛΔΛΜ’s new LP was self-produced with Stelios Efendakis (Gardenbox), recorded at the Haus of ΛΔΛΜ, and mixed and mastered at Ritual Studios, Athens. Since Sun’s digital release it has amassed over 300,000 streams worldwide, and will see further success with its physical re-release.

Panagiotis “Takis” Chaloulakos: Vocals / Guitars
Giannis Fourikis: Guitars / Backing Vocals
Thanos Micropoulos: Keyboards / Slide Guitar / Percussions
Giorgos Eginitis: Bass
Dimitris Eginitis: Drums

Stöner are Brant Bjork (guitar/vocals), Nick Oliveri (bass/vocals) and Ryan Gut (drums).
From flowing epic jams to all-out punk blasts, by name alone it’s safe to say they know
what they are doing. It ain’t anybody’s first time at the dance, you don’t call your band
Stöner from lack of experience.

Stöner, however straight-ahead their moniker, encompass varied styles and the
songwriting of Bjork and Oliveri – both founders of Kyuss, also Mondo Generator, Ché, Fu
Manchu, Bloodclot
, as well as Oliveri’s position as bassist / vocalist on the most
celebrated Queens Of The Stone Age albums from 1998-04. Atop the classic-style swing
and flow from Gut (also of Bjork’s solo band), Stöner keep it casual and wear the name
as only those who helped create the sound could.

Brant Bjork commented: “One of the first things Nick, Güt and myself wanted to do when we got Stöner together was to get over to the UK and Ireland. Good things come to those who
ROCK. See you all soon.”

Nu-metalcore quintet Seeker release video for new single 'CIAH'
Seeker 2021.jpg

Nu-metalcore quintet Seeker have released a video for their new single 'CIAH', the title-track from their recently released EP Call It A Hatred (out 7th May 2021).

Check out the video for 'CIAH' here: https://youtu.be/MHcnXtYttIQ

Vocalist Jack Tyrell says of the track:

"'CIAH' is about feeling empty and void of sentiment, how I as a person felt and thought of myself on a daily basis. I couldn’t express why I felt the way I did, until I realised I just hated myself. I hated everything and everyone and that was the only spark that drove me at that point. In essence, it’s about coming to terms with your own self-hatred.

"If anyone should take anything from this song, it’s that it’s okay to express yourself. Building walls and feeling empty because of them leaves you worse off than before. It’s scary to feel something new but it shouldn’t hold you back from moving on."

For fans of Northlane, Wage War and Alpha Wolf, Seeker deliver heavy, groovy, technical metal that firmly cements them as ones to watch.

Hailing from Surrey, Seeker is comprised of two sets of brothers and one close friend. Formed in 2019, the band began their steady rise in June 2020 with the release of their debut single 'Deranged', followed by the crushing 'Bite Your Tongue' in 2021.

Seeker have built their live reputation through shows across the UK, including a support slot with Heart Of A Coward. Now the quintet are putting their feet firmly on the pedal, offering an exhilarating taste of things to come with their new EP, Call It A Hatred.
