Juno Award-winning rockers Billy Talent have announced their new album Crisis Of Faith, due for release on 21st January 2022 via Spinefarm Records. The band have also joined forces with Rivers Cuomo of Weezer for their new single 'End of Me'.

'End Of Me' is the latest new music from the band, following a string of recent hits that include hit singles 'Reckless Paradise' and 'I Beg to Differ (This Will Get Better)', along with the anthemic prog-inspired 'Forgiveness I + II.'

Check out the lyric video for 'End of Me (featuring Rivers Cuomo)' here: https://youtu.be/5HyE20RC8iY

Of the new single, the band say: "This is a full circle moment for us. We've admired and have been fans of Weezer since the Blue Album until now. Before we had a title, this song was originally called 'Hendrix+Weezer' so it only felt right to ask Rivers to sing on it. The song encompasses the essence of 90's alt-rock which was a hugely impactful and influential time for our band. We’re proud of the song and very happy to have Rivers be a part of it."

Billy Talent's new ten-track LP, Crisis Of Faith, was produced entirely by the band’s guitarist and main songwriter, Juno-nominated producer Ian D’Sa, in the band’s Toronto studio, and was mixed by the legendary Chris Lord-Alge. Those who pre-order Crisis Of Faith will have the opportunity to win a one-of-a-kind Player Series Fender Stratocaster modelled after Ian’s own Strat. Find out more here: https://billytalent.lnk.to/CrisisOfFaith

Crisis Of Faith will be released digitally, on CD and vinyl LP, alongside a special limited-edition deluxe vinyl package. A multi-channel Dolby Atmos mix of the album will also be available digitally. Pre-order/pre-save Crisis Of Faith here: https://billytalent.lnk.to/CrisisOfFaith

Billy Talent are one of Canada’s most successful bands. They have sold nearly one million albums in Canada alone and nearly three million albums internationally. They have won seven Juno Awards and have been nominated 23 times, including three nods for their most recent studio album Afraid of Heights (Group of the Year, Rock Album of the Year, and Ian D’Sa for Producer of the Year). They have also been nominated for 32 MMVA Awards – taking the prize home 10 times. In 2018, the group was honoured with the Legends of Live Special Achievement Award, presented by Canadian Music Week. Most recently, Billy Talent have launched the Billy Talent Charitable Trust to give more back to the organisations that the band supports.

Folk-prog artist Dikajee releases new video 'Gloomy Flowers Blooming' ft. Faun's Fiona Rüggeberg
unnamed - 2021-09-10T100311.034.jpg

The hauntingly brilliant folk-prog artist Dikajee has revealed a new video for her track 'Gloomy Flowers Blooming', featuring Faun's Fiona Rüggeberg, taken from her unique debut full-length album Forget~Me~Nots, out now.

Watch here: https://youtu.be/GxJ250XzEA4

Pre-order Forget~Me~Nots here: dikajee.com

The artist comments: "'Gloomy Flowers Blooming' is probably the most epic and the most "really progressive" song from the album. It is a trilogy that describes the process of surviving a grief experience. Whether it is the loss of loved ones, painful parting, or disappointment in life's ideals. The three parts "The Sunset", "Rise all in silver", and "Gloomy Flowers Blooming" are like my own musical stages of going through dark times. As a songwriter, I am happy that the song turned out to be both epic and intimate at the same time. The special shine of the song is Fiona Rüggeberg (FAUN, Tvinna); her bagpipe solo brings a breathtaking both Celtic folk (that I adore) and blues flare to the song. I am so happy to have Fiona on that song, she is an amazing musician with limitless talent. 'Gloomy Flowers Blooming' is a hail to everyone who is managing to reach the bottom, push off and rise all in silver, gloomy but stronger!"

Such an esoteric, worldly approach is truly typical of this brilliant artist, and an album recorded throughout Europe, and with a truly international cadre and calibre of musician. Recording and producing in Norway, Portugal, Germany, France, Latvia, Russia, Forget~Me~Nots features guest appearances from Faun’s Fiona Rüggeberg (bagpipes), Klone’s Guillaume Bernard (guitars), Erik Truffaz's Artis Orubs (drums) and Amber Foil’s João Filipe (guitars) among others.

The international, collaborative outlook pays dividends across a record that showcases the best of folk, minimalist electronic, neo-baroque, neo-classical and truly inventive progressive rock. Above all else shines through Dikajee’s voice, a once-in-a-generation talent that recalls the best of Bjork and Kate Bush. Musically, shades of Steven Wilson, Nightwish, and Gentle Giant shine through.

Across Forget~Me~Nots Dikajee’s gloriously imaginative ethos is heard again and again. Track Four, ‘River Rite’, is a self-described “pagan ritual” song, which plays on the dual parables of the energy of floral wreaths, and of the wiseman by the river. The closing track, ‘Something Mystique’ is an exploration of the state of loss, and involved the visiting of more than ten abandoned grand estates of the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries.

An artist who previously toured Germany and Switzerland, opened for Yann Tiersen, Recoil (Depeche Mode’s Alan Wilder), and Nils Petter Molvær; and placed in Prog Magazine’s Top Unsigned Bands, Dikajee will deservedly have a bright and illustrious future.

Punk rock quintet zebrahead have released a video for their new single 'A Long Way Down'. The video documents their recent visit to the UK, including their performance at Slam Dunk Festival. The band have also announced their new EP III, due for release on 26th November 2021.

Check out the video for 'A Long Way Down' here: https://youtu.be/-tt2JHaoR7I

Stream 'A Long Way Down' here: https://listen.lt/ZebraheadALongWayDown

"We have been blending hip-hop and pop-punk for nearly 25 years and it’s amazing to see how big that genre is now. 'A Long Way Down' is a perfect combination of heart-breaking melody and high energy rap,” says bassist Ben Osmundson.

Vocalist/rapper Ali Tabatabaee adds: “'A Long Way Down' is about being stuck in a toxic relationship because you feel like you don’t deserve better. You settle for what’s in front of you rather than go for what will truly make you happy.”

Vocalist/guitarist Adrian Estella chimes in, “even though the feelings might be there, it's best to walk away and find your true counterpart.”

The rebellious spirit, unyielding work ethic, and all-around good time is alive and well for the Orange County, CA-based punk-inspired rock outfit. Hitting the ground running with their new singer and guitarist Adrien Estrella, zebrahead have just returned from the Slam Dunk Festival and are putting the finishing touches on their forthcoming EP III.

Punk rock mainstays zebrahead are vocalist/rapper Ali Tabatabaee, vocalist/guitarist Adrian Estrella, bassist Ben Osmundson, drummer Ed Udhus, and guitarist Dan Palmer. In July, the band debuted their single 'Lay Me To Rest', their first to feature newly recruited Estrella.

Starting with the release of theYellow EP on indie label Dr. Dream in 1998, the buzz began and zebrahead signed to major label Columbia before releasing their full-length debut, Waste Of My Mind. Their second album Playmate Of The Year hit in mid-2000 to rave reviews, of which the album's infectious title track garnered airplay on some of the planet's biggest alternative stations.

Stupid Fat Americans EP was released as a Japanese exclusive the next year. The band spent the summer of 2006 on the Vans Warped Tour, and Broadcast To The World was released, an album that went gold in Japan in just a month. In 2008 the band released Phoenix, and Panty Raid followed in 2009, followed by Get Nice in 2011, and Call Your Friends in 2013.

Throughout all that life threw at them, zebrahead’s touring raged on and the band continued to bring their explosive live show to festivals like Reading and Leeds, Download, Southside, Rock AM Ring/Park, Summersonic, Punkspring, Fuji Rock, Groezrock, Pukkelpop, SlamDunk, Sonisphere, Hurricane, Greenfield, NovaRock, Area 4 and Highfield, to name a few.

Since their incarnation zebrahead has shared highs and lows, sold over two million albums to date, survived label changes, and earned a Grammy nomination from a collaboration with Motörhead. As they get set to once again bring their distinctive fun-filled sound to the masses with a new member, new music and lots of touring, the future is bright for the band and their worldwide family of fans and friends.

Finnish melodeath sextet Bloodred Hourglass release new video / single & announce album
unnamed - 2021-09-09T142721.714.jpg

Finnish melodic death metallers Bloodred Hourglass have released new single 'Kings & Queens', the fourth taster of the band's upcoming album Your Highness, out 22nd October via Out Of Line Music.

Stream / Purchase 'Kings & Queens' here: https://bloodredhourglass.lnk.to/KingsAndQueens

The video to 'Kings & Queens' dives into the Agatha Christie-like classic detective story while a roaring modern metal song beats as a soundtrack for the treacherous theme.

”We wanted a more story like approach for this one and our friend from Entertainment Company Tuoni Studios accepted to bring his murder mystery concept to life with a music video format. Since we had a suitable track ready to fit the theme, it all came together nicely. The song itself is a bit darker, yet groovy banger with a big chorus, where classic melodeath elements meet more industrial atmosphere”, comments the songwriter and guitarist Eero Silvonen.

Your Highness is available for pre-order in CD and LP formats, as well as a limited deluxe edition boxset, here https://bloodredhourglass.lnk.to/YourHighness and www.brhg.net

Blood Command stream new single 'The End is Her'
unnamed - 2021-09-09T141953.537.jpg

Blood Command have released their brilliant new single 'The End is Her', the second glimpse of the band's new vocalist, Nikki Brumen (ex-Pagan).

Stream here: https://orcd.co/theendisher

Blood Command mastermind Yngve Andersen comments: “'The End is Her” is for the losers, for the wallflowers and for the people who never quite fit in. It’s a song about feeling so invisible that no matter how loud you scream, no one will hear you. For anyone who burns so brightly but nobody else sees even a flicker of the flame.

I wrote the lyrics at time when I was feeling weak and alone but used this darkness as ammo to become stronger. You never know what is going on in someone’s mind or what they are capable of, so I want this song to remind people to never underestimate the outcasts. That we have the ability to use the doubt of others to ignite something inside of us - to strike a match and light the world on fire.

It felt right to release this track next, as this was the first song I showed
Nikki when I first asked her to join the band. I knew she could scream, but I’d never heard her actually sing, so I gave her this song to record and send back to me, just to make sure she was the right fit. I was actually playing a show when she sent the demo back and let’s just say, I partied really hard that night. It was a dream come true.

We’ve shown the heavier side of the new era of
Blood Command with A Villain’s Monologue. Now it’s time to shake it up with 'The End is Her' - quintessential Death Pop, this is the anthem for anyone who has ever thought it won’t get better but has found solace in realising they aren’t the only one who is suffering."

The self-described death pop band are a one-of-a-kind proposition. Hardcore meets metal meets pop meets punk, Blood Command have previously been called 'one of the world's best kept secrets' by Rock Sound, achieved one of the Albums of the Year in Kerrang!, and applauded by Metal Hammer, among others.

Blood Command have previously toured with Biffy Clyro, Kvelertak, Rolo Tomassi, and Skindred, following the release of their acclaimed EP Return of the Arsonist, the conceptual successor to 2011's Hand Us The Alphamale EP. The band have also shared the stage with Refused, Tragedy, Comeback Kid, and Gallows, and have played Download Festival, The Great Escape, 2000trees and Roskilde festivals, among others. Now with celebrated UK label Hassle Records and with Nikki at the front, Blood Command's power and prestige only rises higher.

Australian alt. group Triple One share salacious new single 'BLOOD RAVE'
unnamed - 2021-09-09T100011.570.jpg

Australian four-piece Triple One introduce 'BLOOD RAVE', the first new track since their chart-topping 2020 debut album Panic Force.

Stream 'BLOOD RAVE' and watch the stunning, striking, video here: https://ffm.to/bloodrave111

The genre-bending alt hip-hop group, Triple One, are riding high ten months after releasing their debut album to critical acclaim and the #1 spot on the ARIA hip-hop charts. The anthemic new track, 'BLOOD RAVE', was co-produced with Melbourne’s Lucianblomkamp (6lack, Mallrat), and the video was created in collaboration with Western Sydney visual artist Serwah Attafuah (Charli XCX, Nike).

The world has been constantly changing and challenging in these last ten months since Panic Force, but the Sydney group have been hard at work throughout it all, including playing to sold-out crowds on a national tour, garnering praise from Rolling Stone, NME, GQ and more. The foursome’s debut blended hip-hop with punk, pop and beyond, but ‘BLOOD RAVE’ is something new—and it marks a sharp shift in a new direction. The smoky, almost industrial production set a gripping scene, snaking its way beneath the understated and seductive opening lyrics. Soon, it breaks out with huge, soaring vocals which dramatically intertwine with gritty, revealing rhymes.

“The song touches on pleasure and the consequences of chasing pleasure,” vocalist Marty Bugatti says. “Indulging in temptation, lust and the areas in between. It’s about being in a constant cycle of chasing expedient joy and putting off responsibilities to be dealt with later. And then, when it’s time to deal with the consequences, it’s often too late.”

To him, the song is all about the “constant paradox of the different forces in your life guiding decisions and your ultimate fate”. It’s a paradox felt not only through the lyrics, but the intense, dynamic production itself. There’s a lesson to be learned in it all, too. “People say live in the moment, who cares, be free,” Marty says. “But if you don’t have foresight in your life you turn stagnant and wander around aimlessly. If you’re in it you can’t see it.”

The accompanying video is every bit as suggestive as the song itself, with Serwah Attafuah’s signature futuristic 3D visuals evoking a hypnotic, remarkably surreal landscape. “My aim was to create a surreal and sexy feminine universe in which the Triple One characters are lost,” she explains. “Visually, I didn’t want it to be just a loose conceptual piece, so making it as literal as possible was pretty important to me. It’s always a pleasure to collaborate with Triple One, they definitely put a tonne of thought into all their visual elements and always come through with the hardest concepts.”

Triple One are impossible to categorise, and even harder to ignore. Brash bars come courtesy of rappers Marty Bugatti and Obi Ill Terrors, melodic hooks by Lil Dijon float in paranormal fashion while greyscale production is expertly crafted by Billy GunnsTriple One are a sonic experiment between hard, soft, and all the textures in between.

Triple One's early cult singles 'Doozy' and 'Overflow' scored millions of views and streams internationally, but 2019 was the year that Triple One broke into Australia's consciousness: their singles 'Showoff', 'Tarlo' and 'Valentine Kid' were added to high rotation on triple j, and they were also profiled by Complex, GQ and Highsnobiety. Their 2019 single 'Butter' also dominated radio airwaves and led to the group's debut UK/European tour and five sold-out shows across Australia. 'Butter' was later certified Gold in Australia.

In 2020, Triple One released their debut album Panic Force which debuted at #1 on the ARIA hip-hop charts, and #8 on the ARIA album charts. It was also crowned the triple j 'Feature Album of the Week'. Onstage is where Triple One truly state their case. Having earned a notorious live reputation through relentless gigging across Australia, 2021 saw the band sell out their Panic Force Tour nationally in the midst of difficult pandemic circumstances. The release of 'BLOOD RAVE' heralds the exciting next chapter for Triple One.

Nu-punk rockers Cherie Amour share new single and announce EP

Baltimore-based nu-punk band Cherie Amour have announced their debut EP, Internal Discussions, set for release 1st October on Rude Records / Equal Vision Records. The band have also shared their new single and video, 'A Beautiful Mess, A Perfect Disaster' to coincide with the announcement.

Vocalist Trey Miller commented on the single: "'A Beautiful Mess, A Perfect Disaster' is about a very specific situation in my life that never really got resolved. From a music standpoint, it was one of the more difficult songs for me to do. I just couldn’t come up with melodies for a long time and I came up with the final idea for the song a couple of days before recording it. I love how poppy the song is and it’s possibly my favorite hook that we’ve written."

Composed of Trey Miller (vocals), Casey Reid (guitar), Brendan Willis (guitar) and Ronnie Sherman (drums), Cherie Amour are out to carve their own path in the alternative music scene. Tossing aside their worries of being pigeon-holed into one particular genre, they have embraced the self-proclaimed title of “nu-punk”. Taking influence from a plethora of artists such as Linkin Park, MGK, Bring Me the Horizon, Don Broco, and Dance Gavin Dance, the band expertly craft genre-blending sounds into each track they create. Having already gained a rapidly growing fanbase from previous singles 'Burn' and 'Orlando', Cherie Amour are reeling to break boundaries with the release of Internal Discussions and solidify 2021 as their year.

Synthwave originator Dynatron returns with new single, animated video and album
unnamed - 2021-09-07T151830.636.jpg

Danish synthwave pioneer Dynatron has released new single 'Origins' with a stunning animated video, taken from his upcoming album of the same name, set for release 15th October via Blood Music.

Watch the video to 'Origins' here: https://youtu.be/PSzNvha6MpM

Pre-order Origins here: http://www.blood-music.com/store

The video was animated by the French pixel artist Kryssalian; each frame was drawn by hand, and it took six months to create. The production was a collaboration between Kryssalian and Blood Music.

Dynatron comments: "The title track 'Origins' is about the journey to find and discover our roots. Kryssalian did an amazing job portraying this visually, and I'm very excited to release this video to the world."

A trailblazer in off-world soundscapes, meticulously crafting the soundtrack to eternal space exploration and interplanetary discovery, Dynatron returns after a five-year hiatus with his long- and highly-awaited third album Origins.

The artist's most personal work to date, Origins is a quest for meaning through the infinite chaos, a meditation on loneliness and the painstaking search for hope. During the past decade, the synthwave scene has risen, splintered, and sub-splintered; but Dynatron remains anchored as one of its true, original voices. Building upon the cinematic atmosphere of his previous work – exploring a large variety of vintage analogue synthesisers – Origins is the perfect throwback to the genre's origins. Retro, ethereal, and passionate.

The album touches upon synthwave's foundations while expanding Dynatron's scope through a wider range of musical instrumentation.

“I wanted to explore orchestral sound, giving the album a more human feel. I used choir and strings on multiple occasions, mixing them against synth flourishes to create a supernatural aura,” says Dynatron's mastermind Jeppe Hasseriis.

Origins follows 2015's ground-breaking second album, Aeternus, and its creation took Dynatron on a five-year exploration into the abyss of self-discovery. The album was never meant to be personal, but through its creation, Hasseriis realised the astronauts stranded in darkness mirrored his own personal struggles. The only way out was through hope.
