Alien Weaponry on tour alongside Gojira and Employed To Serve in 2022

International metal stars Alien Weaponry today release their highly anticipated second album Tangaroa via Napalm Records.

Order Tangaroa here: https://smarturl.it/Tangaroa-NPR

The band also release their new single/video 'Hatupatu', which you can view here: https://youtu.be/xvioybLgSMo

Performed entirely in the indigenous language of te reo Māori, the story behind this track is not only legendary in the band's culture but is also written about one of the de Jong brothers' ancestors. Journey alongside Hatupatu in the new music video as he escapes the dangerous clutches of the fabled witch of the forest, the evil bird-woman Kurangaituku.

Alien Weaponry drummer Henry de Jong says: "The story of Hatupatu is one Lewis and I grew up with – our father was the first person to tell us as children. Having a family connection with it only made creating a song more intriguing for us. Traditionally, Māori legends were passed down through families by re-telling them, not by having them written down in books. It only makes sense for us to be re-telling this story as our tūpuna (ancestors) did for generations. We cannot wait to share with the rest of the world."

Since releasing their acclaimed debut (2018), the New Zealanders’ kinetic presence and sound – combining elements of thrash and groove metal with lyrics in the native indigenous language, te reo Māori — has attracted throngs of fans and media supporters across the globe. As with their 2018 single 'Kai Tangata' – which has amassed more than 10 million views on YouTube and claimed the number-one spot on SiriusXM Liquid Metal’s “Devil’s Dozen” for 13 consecutive weeks – much of Tangaroa is immersed in the historical stories and cultural heritage of the Māori people.

In addition, Tangaroa details stories of personal struggle and growth, as well as crucial environmentalism topics.

Having achieved past and present tours and festivals with the likes of Slayer, Black Label Society and Gojira, and being hailed the “future of metal” by esteemed magazine Metal Hammer (UK) and voted by Revolver Magazine (US) fans as “one of the bands most likely to break out in 2021”, Alien Weaponry are poised to dominate with Tangaroa. The album coalesces Alien Weaponry's growing maturation with an undisturbed songwriting process, resulting in their most inspired, honest and informed material yet.

In addition to lyrics written in te reo Māori, many tracks feature traditional instruments, called taonga puoro, providing the tracks their own warrior-like attitude. Rhythmic, dynamic album opener 'Titokowaru' begins with determined rowing chants and depicts the tale of a famous war chief that challenged the colonial government in New Zealand and led a rebel army, backed by quick riffage and driving drums. Following standout 'Hatupatu', inspired by the harrowing, legendary tale of a de Jong ancestor facing off with a witch, is carried by frenzied guitars, spirited chanting and tribal-like percussion. While Alien Weaponry sourced inspiration from their culture and environmental surroundings while writing most of Tangaroa, the band also looked inward – drawing vision for other portions of the album from within. The album dives into some of their most effecting personal experiences, with English-language songs like the pensive 'Unforgiving' about facing self-loathing and insecurity, and the swirling, charging 'Buried Underground' detailing the aftershocks of drug abuse.

Accented by personal touches like its entrancing album art originally conceptualized from drawings by Lewis de Jong, Tangaroa is a massive next step for a band on the rise, encompassing all of the elements that make Alien Weaponry heavy metal’s most authentic rising stars.

Henry de Jong says about Tangaroa:
“The album is tied together with the message of ‘Tangaroa’ - the whole album is more a snapshot of the band’s brains during the writing process. We have also written songs that are about some of our first tūpuna (ancestors) who were here in Āotearoa (New Zealand). Hatupatu, who is very famous in Māori history, as well as Īhenga, who named a number of places in Āotearoa during his travels.”

Lewis de Jong adds about the album’s artwork and thematic details:
“The album is named after the track ‘Tangaroa’, and we went with this theme on the artwork. The album is drawn from some new experiences we've had as well as some ancient Māori tales. I think we have stepped things up from the last album.”

Bassist Tūranga Morgan-Edmonds also adds:
"This album's use of even more traditional Māori sounds and styles is a very exciting step forward for us."

About Sleep Token:

Beneath the Sleep Token banner lies the unique, broad-based vision of one individual – anonymous, silent, masked, armed with a staggering vocal range, a deft touch on the keyboards, plus a live approach that is never less than fully engaged. The UK underground entity only known as Sleep Token, fronted by Vessel, began the Sundowning ritual on 20th June 2019 with ‘The Night Does Not Belong To God’. Sleep Token began to release their ‘offerings’ bi-weekly, released Thursdays at Sundown BST with accompanying visualisers. Each offering had its own emblem, establishing the Sleep Token universe on the debut album Sundowning. This 18th June, 2021, the cycle begins again but born anew. The new album, This Place Will Become Your Tomb, pushes the boundaries of Sleep Token's sound into new avenues of blurring genres while still retaining the signature sound.

Resolve release video for new single 'Surrender'
Resolve -New 2021 (to use).jpg

'Surrender' due for release 17th September 2021

Debut album Between Me and The Machine out 26th November 2021 via Arising Empire

Resolve have released a video for their striking new single 'Surrender', due for release on 17th September 2021. The track is another taste of their forthcoming debut album Between Me and The Machine, out on 26th November 2021 via Arising Empire.

Check out the video for 'Surrender' here: https://youtu.be/qFE2FMwEKJs

Pre-order Between Me and The Machine here: https://resolve.lnk.to/bmatm

The band comment on 'Surrender':

"'Surrender' is an emotional one. It’s a song that can speak to every musician with self-confidence issues (so every musician, period?). It tackles this feeling of sometimes wanting to quit, but also looking back and realising how much you’ve actually accomplished, and how senseless it would be to throw it all away. You never know what may happen tomorrow, and there’s already so much time and effort that has been put into Resolve that we just cannot imagine giving it up any time soon. I’m sure a lot of people can relate to this feeling.

"This track is probably the most vocal-driven out of the album, so rather than shooting our usual music video, we decided to change it up and do a live vocal performance of Anthony singing from the top of a mountain. We're really happy with the result, it really showcases his incredible vocal abilities as well as the beautiful Alps that we’re lucky enough to live close by."

'Surrender' follows previous singles 'Emerald Skies', 'Beautiful Hell' and 'Seasick Sailor', which have had strong support on Alex Baker's Kerrang! Radio Fresh Blood show.

Resolve are a band that have been savouring every second of their journey so far and biding their time - observing, learning, building - and making sure that every single aspect of how they’ve wanted the band to function was fully realised before delivering it to the world.

Starting their journey back in 2016 after their previous projects parted ways and their intentions set on this being their forever band, vocalist Anthony Diliberto, bassist Robin Mariat and drummer Nathan Mariat have spent the last half a decade tinkering with the formula that feels the most suited to them. Making their first mark in 2017 with debut EP Reverie, before following with standalone single ‘Carmela’ in 2018, it wasn’t until 2019 that they felt truly at home in their sound.

That was in the form of Pendulum, a collection of three songs that not only represented the beautifully bludgeoning and densely expansive sound that was resting in the back of their heads, but also found them appearing on Spotify’s New Core, New Metal Tracks and Kickass Metal playlists.

When looking out for each other and soul searching feels more crucial than ever before, Resolve have put together a record that transcends borders altogether. They've created a universe littered with as much darkness as light and as much hardship as hope. Between Me and The Machine feels like just the beginning of a truly spectacular voyage to the stratosphere, but right now, it is the sound of a band making the most brutally honest and beautifully human music they can.

Resolve will support LANDMVRKS on their upcoming UK/European tour, joined by Glassbone.

Deeds Of Flesh announced for Hellfest 2022; unveil classic line-up
Deeds-of-Flesh-2021.jpg

Long-standing drummer Mike Hamilton returns; Jacoby Kingston returns to bass/vocals

New album Nucleus out now via Unique Leader Records

Technical death metal pioneers Deeds Of Flesh unveil a classic line-up, with the return of long-time drummer Mike Hamilton. Mike's drumming style has been a huge staple in shaping the band's sound and laying the blueprint for the future of technical death metal.

The band comment: "We want to thank Darren Cesca for all of his hard work on our most recent release, Nucleus. That album would not sound the way it does without his stamp on it. Darren is one of the most professional and skilled death metal drummers out there today and we guarantee you'll be seeing him continue to push the envelope for the genre and drumming as a whole. We're very proud to have Darren as a part of the Deeds legacy and wish him all the best and a future of success!"

This news follows the recent announcement that Deeds Of Flesh will return to the stage at next year's HellFest Open Air in Clisson, France.

The band continue: "Although we wish we could be hitting the stage with our brother Erik Lindmark, we feel going forward it would be best to retain the classic Deeds line-up as much as possible."

Jacoby Kingston will return to bass and vocal duties as he has done during his entire tenure with Deeds. Ivan Munguia will make the move from bass over to 2nd guitar, an easy transition given his recent guitar work live and in the studio with Continuum.

Going forward, Deeds of Flesh are:
Jacoby Kingston - Bass/Vocals
Craig Peters - Lead Guitar
Ivan Munguia - Guitar
Michael Hamilton - Drums

Mike Hamilton commented: "I am very excited to return to my rightful home as drummer of Deeds OF Flesh. I thought the opportunity of performing live with Deeds of Flesh would never present itself after the unfortunate passing of our brother Erik. I am honored and stoked to be reunited with my incredibly talented brothers Jacoby, Craig and Ivan and look forward to performing at Hellfest 2022 as well as writing new material for future releases!!!!!"

Jacoby commented: "Though I am saddened that Erik won't be with us, I feel honored to regain bass and vocal duties and am excited to be jamming once more! 2022 is going to be an amazing year for the band and we look forward to crushing skulls once again."

After a 14-year hiatus from playing live shows, Deeds Of Flesh are super excited to get back out there and play for the fans once again at HellFest 2022, so get ready.

Craig and Ivan are proud to announce that they are now endorsed by Ormsby Guitars. Craig and Ivan will be playing Ormsby's exclusively, both live and in the studio. Craig is currently playing an RC-One in a killer Orange Marblizer finish. Ivan is playing a DC GTR in Max Blak as well as a Metal X in a Red Dead finish. More info here: https://www.ormsbyguitars.com.

New album, Nucleus, is out now via Unique Leader and features guest performances from Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus, Gorguts and more, paying tribute to the band's late guitarist and founder, Erik Lindmark.

This follows previous singles 'Heir to None', 'Shroud' and the band's first single 'Wilt', which featured David Simonich from Signs Of The Swarm. Watch the 'Wilt' video here: https://youtu.be/hJ9HHX7bksI

Alongside their counterparts in Abigail Williams and Winds of Plague, TBP were the first out the gates in terms of bringing a symphonic, melody driven black metal influence into modern deathcore, setting the benchmark in 2008 with their genre melding debut In Waking : Divinity.

Fusing Unearth Oncoming Storm era style breakdowns with Dimmu Borgir flair reminiscent of Puritannical era, then adding the syncopated attack of the likes of Decapitated, TBP had unknowingly created a sound that would be imitated by many to come. TBP are the true originators of modern blackened deathcore and have returned to claim their crowns.

Their fourth album Labyrinthian is a majestic and nightmare fuelled journey deep into blackened death metal done how it's supposed to be. Featuring guest vocals from David John Simonich (Signs of the Swarm), Jamie Graham (Viscera) & a monumental mix and master from Dave Otero (Cattle Decapitation, Rivers of Nihil)

Jinjer's Wallflowers album hits the charts worldwide
shot 2 press release.png

Wallflowers out now via Napalm Records, purchase here

Additional dates for 2021 EU headline tour announced

Ukrainian modern metal giants Jinjer released Wallflowers, one of the most anticipated metal albums of the year on 27th August, and are already breaking the charts worldwide with the game-changing fourth offering.

The successor of their critically acclaimed third album Macro, Wallflowers is currently ranked at #7 on the German charts – marking their highest position in Germany so far – in addition to entering at #5 on the official UK Rock & Metal Album Charts. Plus, the band entered both the US Billboard Top New Artist Albums chart and Canada’s Hard Music Albums chart at #1, in addition to landing at #2 on the US Current Hard Music Albums chart and scoring several other top positions.

Wallflowers has also gone on to gather numerous top spots in several other international territories. See all chart entries of this modern metal manifestation below.

unnamed.jpg

Bassist Eugene Abdukhanov commented on the new album: “Growing creatively has always been a major goal for us. The day Jinjer stops reaching for new musical horizons will be our last day as a band. We could have churned out what our peers expected us to do, or produce ‘Pisces’ clones without end, but we’ve never done that and we never will. Instead, we wrote an album whose level of emotions range from the fiercest aggression we’ve ever had, to the most intricate melodies and melancholic vibes you could ever get from our music. We decided to rip apart all possible stylistic boundaries without regard to financial success or competing with our previous albums. Wallflowers is a different kind of album musically and visually. It’s about our identity as a band, as individuals and a clear statement that we are different from most artists… and that it is OK to do your own thing.”

“... one of the finest – and most important – metal releases of 2021." - Kerrang UK

"Simultaneously mesmeric and ear-splittingly apocalyptic" - Metal Hammer UK

"Jinjer position themselves as one of the most outspoken metal bands on the planet" - Distorted Sound UK

“With WALLFLOWERS, the Ukrainian band, who musically buzz around somewhere between metalcore, djent, groove and death metal, goes to the next level.” - Metal Hammer DE

"Jinjer present probably one of their most important albums" - metal.de DE

“Jinjer’s most aggressive and melancholy album to date” - Revolver US

“Wallflowers is a progressive masterpiece that further cements the fact that Jinjer are one of most exciting acts in the current metal scene.” - New Noise US

“Never mind the hype, Jinjer are obviously brilliant, and Wallflowers is an ambitious and creatively honest modern metal record that we can all believe in.” - Blabbermouth US

“This band continues to impress and they deserve all the praise that they can get.” - Banger TV US/CA

Since announcing Wallflowers, the band have graced numerous renowned international magazine covers, booked the biggest stories, sold out countless tour dates and their first two new singles, 'Vortex' and 'Mediator', both cracked the multi-million stream mark in no time. The new album not only presents a methodical and premeditated next step in the band's already imposing career, but moreover, it mirrors the personal adversities they’ve faced due to the worldwide events of the last year. Wallflowers is not only an upgrade to the progressive groove metal sound that all Jinjer fans crave, but also a sonic pressure cooker of technical musicianship, emotional fury and an intense soundtrack befitting the harrowing state of the world today. Hailing from the conflict-ridden Ukrainian region of Donetsk but now calling Kiev their home base, Jinjer truly do not mince words – or riffs – on Wallflowers.

Wallflowers Tracklisting:01 - Call Me a Symbol 02 - Colossus 03 - Vortex 04 - Disclosure! 05 - Copycat 06 - Pearls and Swine 07 - Sleep of the Righteous 08 - Wallflower 09 - Dead Hands Feel No Pain 10 - As I Boil Ice 11 - Mediator

Jinjer's exceptional precision of modern metal paired with tough as nails attitude has earned them a fiercely loyal, rabid fanbase and massive critical acclaim, making them one of the most talked about bands today and garnering them many sold out performances across the globe. Driven by their unmatched work ethic, as soon as they were able, Jinjer took to the road in Europe to perform safely and adhering to strict local regulations, providing diehard fans with a much needed oasis during lockdown. In early 2021, as society reached for a light at the end of the tunnel, the band moved forward, announcing plans for international fall 2021 headline tour dates that, within weeks of announcement, already began to sell out. In support of their masterful latest full-length album, Wallflowers, Jinjer have just announced additional dates for their EU tour, starting 16th September, supported by French metallers Hypno5e and Ukrainian Metalcore unit Space Of Variations.

'Sick Dog' streaming now; Downer Part.1 out 24th November via Out Of Line

New death / industrial / all-round brutal metal band ten56. fronted by Aaron Matts (ex Betraying the Martyrs) have unveiled their third single / video 'Sick Dog' and announced the release of debut EP Downer Part. 1 on 25th November via Out Of Line Music.

Vocalist Aaron Matts comments about the band’s debut EP and the decision to couple this new track with the announcement: "It was definitely a conscious decision to unravel and release the three singles in this order, just to show people that we’re not a one-trick pony."

He adds: "It’s honestly been the most enjoyable time I’ve personally had when writing and recording music. Downer Part.1 is a six-track, and it’s supposed to sound bloody horrible!"

The EP "Downer Part.1" offers an insight of what’s to follow from ten56. and proves that producing a steady flow of tracks represents the band at that moment, rather than sitting on a twelve-track for a couple of years. Plus "I have absolutely no patience generally speaking," Aaron laughs.

ten56. deliver a new level of uncomfortably heavy on their EP Downer Part.1 and unleash their gut-wrenching sound in six tracks that are sure to leave listeners in a state of despair. This is filth like you've never heard before.

On the formation of ten56. and upcoming plans, Aaron stated: "We've been working on this silently for over a year and have a lot of surprises all backed up and ready to go; I can confidently say that no matter what people's first impressions of our first single may be, they should not be hasty to form an opinion until they have heard the whole upcoming record, each single is going to be a shock to the system, that I am sure of! As for the guys in the band, it's been a help being in the game for over ten years, it started with Arnaud, then together we hand-picked from our close friends who we knew would be the perfect fit, and f*ck me we lucked out, everyone is so sick." ten56. is fronted by Aaron Matts with members of Novelists FR, Kadinja, and Uneven Structure.
