New album Zero and Below out 4th March via MNRK Heavy

'Chemical Godz' video streaming now

New Orleans, Louisiana sludge metal pioneers Crowbar will release their long awaited new full-length, Zero And Below,on 4th March via MNRK Heavy. In celebration, the band have unveiled the record’s artwork, tracklisting, and first single/video, 'Chemical Godz', premiered via Revolver.

Watch the video to 'Chemical Godz' here: https://youtu.be/EneeLfh7A0Y

Crowbar songs are unapologetic emotional outpourings, with a bare-knuckle resolve alongside its soul-searching vulnerability, reliably delivered with crushing heaviness. Zero And Below, which cements the band’s dense catalogue exactly one dozen studio albums deep, is the most unforgivably doomy Crowbar record since their 1998 landmark effort, Odd Fellows Rest.

Produced, mixed, and mastered by Duane Simoneaux at OCD Recording And Production in Metairie, Louisiana, Zero And Below is reverently old-school, counterbalanced by a resonant melodicism that’s stunningly mature. Songs like 'Chemical Godz,' 'Bleeding From Every Hole,' and 'It’s Always Worth The Gain' demonstrate what Crowbar does better than any other band: powerful, evocative, and crushingly heavy music. Celebrating a recent 30th anniversary, Crowbar is led by one of the most beloved figures in heavy metal, riff overlord Kirk Windstein, whose menacing bellow and smooth drawl put resilient, unrepentant strength behind even the most sombre odes to suffering.

Comments Windstein of first single, 'Chemical Godz,' “We are all so excited to release the song and video for ‘Chemical Godz!’ It’s been nearly two years since the album was completed. It was such a sad time for so many people going through the Covid-19 epidemic and we felt it wasn’t a good time to release any new material. Get ready because the heavy is coming! We hope y’all enjoy the song and video. Stay safe out there!”

Adds Revolver, “With a galloping groove and raspy howls from Windstein, ‘Chemical Godz’ resides on the heavier and more upbeat side of Crowbar's mucky sound, but lyrically, this is some bleak stuff…”

Zero And Below will be available on CD, LP, cassette, and digitally. Pre-order here: https://crowbar-zeroandbelow.com

In conjunction with the release of Zero And Below, Crowbar will join Sepultura and Sacred Reich for the North America Cuadra Tour 2022. Initially scheduled as a 2020 run, the journey kicks off 4th March and runs through April 9th. Additional support will be provided by Art Of Shock.

More info on Crowbar:

The moment you hear it, you know it’s Crowbar. Praised by Pitchfork, VICE, and Metal Hammer. Twice immortalised by MTV’s Beavis and Butt-Head. The group is worshipped by the heartbroken and downtrodden - those who exorcise their demons in smoke-covered riffs of mournful devastation. A genuine band’s band, with a wide-ranging influence across multiple genres, Crowbar “helped draw up the sludge metal blueprints” (Kerrang!). Celebrating a recent 30th anniversary, Crowbar is led by one of the most beloved figures in heavy metal, riff overlord Kirk Windstein. His menacing bellow and smooth drawl put resilient, unrepentant strength behind even the most somber odes to suffering.

Songs like 'Chemical Gods,' 'Bleeding from Every Hole,' and 'It’s Always Worth the Gain' demonstrate what Crowbar does better than any other band: powerful, evocative, and crushingly heavy music.

Gargantuan-sounding career-resurgence slabs Sever the Wicked Hand (2011), Symmetry in Black (2014), and The Serpent Only Lies (2016) sits mightily alongside Crowbar classics like Time Heals Nothing (1995), comprising a robust catalogue worthy of examination, dedication, and repeat listens. Songs like 'Planets Collide,' 'Existence is Punishment,' and 'All I Had (I Gave)' are anthems as demonstrative of the sludge sound as early songs by Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth represent thrash.

Sever the Wicked Hand introduced guitarist Matt Brunson and drummer Tommy Buckley to the Crowbar faithful. Symmetry in Black began a partnership with producer Duane Simoneaux. Rolling Stone named it one of the 20 Best Metal Albums of 2014; Pitchfork praised it as well. Exclaim! honoured The Serpent Only Lies as “another worthy album to add to Crowbar’s influential and highly revered catalogue. Rounded out by bassist Shane Wesley, Crowbar and Simoneaux work their magic repeatedly on Zero and Below. As Metal Hammer astutely observed, Crowbar “exists in a genre of one.”

Progressive deathcore practitioners Enterprise Earth unveil 'Legends Never Die' visualiser

New album The Chosen out 14th January via MNRK Heavy

“...The Chosen is Enterprise Earth’s most-everything record to date: it’s the heaviest, the most vicious, the most technical, and, not for nothing, the catchiest offering in the band’s already-impressive repertoire, and it’s already destined to be one of 2022’s must-hear metal releases.” -- MetalSucks

“It's just riffs, forever until you're part of the ground…” -- Metal Injection

Progressive deathcore practitioners Enterprise Earth will release their anticipated new full-length, The Chosen, on 14th January 2022 via MNRK Heavy and are today unveiling their crushing third single from it, 'Legends Never Die.'

With 'Legends Never Die,' the band’s sprawling, forward-thinking approach to deathcore continues to progress in new directions. Dark and ravenous, the track will immediately resonate with listeners as it pays homage to the band’s older sound and boasts what made their previous record, Luciferous, so brutal.

Notes guitarist Gabe Mangold“For the third single, we wanted to showcase another facet of The Chosen, something that people who really enjoyed the death metal vibes of Luciferous would like. ‘Legends Never Die’ is fierce musically, yet poetic lyrically. Together, we felt we created an 'epic' vibe with this one. Enjoy!”

View the 'Legends Never Die' visualiser here:  https://youtu.be/b3QY4PDWrFw

A masterpiece of monstrous brutality and enveloping ambiance, The Chosen is Enterprise Earth’s heaviest and most diverse effort yet, with shifting attitude, vibe, and desperate aggression stitched throughout its songs. Brooding, thick with atmosphere and groove-driven, old-school death metal with modern flourishes, the music of Enterprise Earth switches gears from earth-shattering breakdowns to sickeningly slow sludge to blast furnace pummeling with seemingly effortless ease. Composition after composition is ominous, ambitious, lurching, and inviting with vocalist Dan Watson on a “me against the world” mission taking on personal struggle, isolation, self-doubt, and alienation like a man possessed, determined to persevere at all costs.

The Chosen was engineered, produced, mixed, and mastered by the band’s Gabe Mangold (now the group’s sole guitarist) save for the drums. Drummer Brandon Zackey tracked his relentlessly jaw-dropping and diverse drum performance with producer Jason Suecof (August Burns Red, Demon Hunter, Death Angel).

The Chosen will be released on CD, LP, cassette, and digitally. Find preordering options here

Dan Nightingale (guitars, vocals)
Conor Marshall (bass)
Jan Krause (drums)

The future of British metal lies in safe hands with Conjurer, who continue their journey as the country’s most exciting young metal band with their signing to Nuclear Blast worldwide.

Conjurer’s debut full-length Mire (2018) was released to a storm of attention from across the metal world, garnering significant acclaim from Metal Hammer UK, Kerrang!, BBC R1, Visions Mag (DE), Metal Obs (FR), MetalSucks, Metal Injection, Loudwire and many more. Recipients of award nominations (Kerrang!, Heavy Music Awards, Metal Hammer’s Golden Gods) and countless albums of the year lists, Mire is a stunning listen, capturing the attitude of a young band who already know exactly who they are.

Hailed as one of the metal world’s most devastating, thrilling experiences, Conjurer are a band never content to rest. Following Mire’s release in 2018 the quartet soon toured Europe for the first time, appeared at multiple UK festivals, and support of doom titans Conan and Will Haven.

In the following years the band have toured the US twice, supporting Rivers of Nihil (stopping to record an Audiotree session along the way), and then Voivod, with Revocation. 2019 also saw Conjurer’s debut Download Festival appearance, thrilling a packed-out Dogtooth stage, and the release of the joyous collaborative project with Pijn, titled Curse These Metal Hands. Later in the year a split EP with Palm Reader was released, containing two cover songs by each band.

It was only at the end of 2019 that Conjurer closed out their triumphant Mire cycle, with a sold-out UK run – their debut headline tour. Despite Covid-19 preventing live appearances for the majority of 2020 the band have unsurprisingly been busy, writing and recording their highly-anticipated second LP.

Blood Command release new video for 'The End is Her'

Featuring new vocalist Nikki Brumen (ex-Pagan)

Blood Command have released a video for their brilliant single 'The End is Her', featuring the band's new vocalist, Nikki Brumen (ex-Pagan).

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/4blcXHQBWWM

Stream here: https://orcd.co/theendisher

The video comes ahead of Blood Command's debut performance with their new frontwoman, at Oslo's Vulkan Arena on 16th December. The show will be a triumphant end to a difficult two years for the band, who've spent the time entirely separated by the gulf of distance and pandemic.

Nikki Brumen comments: "Finally, being in Norway has exceeded any expectation that I ever had. I knew it would be a life changing and surreal experience but I never imagined my time here would be this incredible. The moment that I stepped off the plane (after 26 hours in transit!) I instantly felt at home. When I saw Yngve waiting at the arrival gate, I burst into tears, it was so overwhelming to meet someone after almost two years of working on the band from opposite sides of the globe, and for him to be even cooler than I could have imagined. I have been blown away and so grateful by how welcoming everyone has been, especially my band mates, who are all the nicest and most funny people. We have been working our asses off to make sure our first show is going to blow people’s minds! Being on stage is where we all belong and I have so much love for Blood Command’s music, that I will put everything I have into our live shows. Having waited this long to play live together, and having been separated for so long, has given us all even more drive to make this show the best live Blood Command performance ever!"

The self-described death pop band are a one-of-a-kind proposition. Hardcore meets metal meets pop meets punk, Blood Command have previously been called 'one of the world's best kept secrets' by Rock Sound, achieved one of the Albums of the Year in Kerrang!, and applauded by Metal Hammer, among others.

Blood Command have previously toured with Biffy Clyro, Kvelertak, Rolo Tomassi, and Skindred, following the release of their acclaimed EP Return of the Arsonist, the conceptual successor to 2011's Hand Us The Alphamale EP. The band have also shared the stage with Refused, Tragedy, Comeback Kid, and Gallows, and have played Download Festival, The Great Escape, 2000trees and Roskilde festivals, among others. Now with celebrated UK label Hassle Records and with Nikki at the front, Blood Command's power and prestige only rises higher.

Alt-rock quartet El Moono release new single and announce EP

'Final Execution' out now via Lockjaw Records

Temple Corrupted EP to be released 4th February

Alternative quartet El Moono have released their haunting new single 'Final Execution', with unique visuals created by Jack Zhang (prior credits include Dua Lipa & Elton John's 'Cold Heart'). 'Final Execution' is another tantalising glimpse of the band's new EP Temple Corrupted, which will be released 4th February via Lockjaw Records.

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/MNdJlgKLGfA

Pre-order the EP here: https://elmoono.lnk.to/templecorrupted

The EP – a raucous mix of Deftones, Thrice, Black Peaks, and Phoxjaw – marks a new era for the band. It follows heavy pre-Covid touring around the UK and Europe with Black Peaks, Phoxjaw, Haggard Cat and Press to Meco, and fully showcases El Moono’s expansive tastes and approach.

Influences of rock, hardcore, post-hardcore, sludge, grunge and metal, the band's off-kilter and oftentimes mind-bending riffs, emotive songs and expressive lyricism combine to create a sound that’s difficult to pigeonhole.

A band unafraid to experiment sonically, El Moono tracked their EP in an ancient church, and notably features the piano used during Adele's Glastonbury performance.

Temple Corrupted is a concept EP, focused on depression and anxiety, and how societal corruption affects individual mental health. Listen out, for example, for track five, 'Miseria', which directly tackles the first-person experience of self-loathing. The song brings attention to the staggering statistics around suicide, and what might happen in future if our attitudes toward mental health remain the same.

'White Gold' tackles issues around institutionalised segregation of race and the injustices ethnic minorities face, fronting up to how the UK is an ‘ignorant empire’. Unafraid to confront serious events, their track 'Requiem' was inspired by watching a loved one waste away due to illness – a direct nod to guitarist Jamie’s father’s diagnosis of chronic cancer at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.

A band fully committed to their message and to change, drummer Chris runs a clothing brand, ‘Over Your Head’ donating profit portions to mental health charities.

‘White Gold’ gained the attention of legendary artist Dan Hillier, who lent his stunning artwork for the cover. El Moono are the third band Dan has worked with after fellow Brighton-based heavyweights Royal Blood and Architects.

A reflection on the fragility of life, Temple Corrupted is a fearsome and impassioned EP from a highly promising group.

Author & Punisher announces new album and streams single / video

'Drone Carrying Dread' video streaming now; Krüller album out 11th February via Relapse

UK/ EU tour announced for February / March 2022

Author & Punisher, the alias for visionary San Diego musician-meets-mechanical engineer Tristan Shone, returns with the melody-laden new album, Krüller, out 11th February via Relapse Records, featuring a suite of upgraded machines, a distilled vocal process and a handful of guest players including Tool’s Danny Carey and Justin Chancellor.

A taste of the eagerly-awaited record arrives with new single 'Drone Carrying Dread,' and the accompanying, graphically-saturated video. Watch it here: https://youtu.be/5BrAAXCbUXE

The clip was directed by Monte Legaspi and features illustrations from album cover artist Zlatko Mitev.

“’Drone Carrying Dread’ was the first song I wrote on Krüller,” explains Shone of the album that thematically was inspired by Octavia E. Butler’s Parable series. “I had just gotten home from the final tour of the Beastland album cycle and I spent a couple weeks updating my overall tones with a nice balance of sub, saw/synth and tube amp. This track was basically the one where it all clicked and I had these chords that resonated just right, shaking the entire warehouse. It's a simple but raw progression that was ripe for the addition of melodic guitars, as well as synthesizer programming from myself and co-producer Jason Begin (Vytear). Lyrically, it's about escape and survival, as the events that were unfolding in 2020 were prophesied by the books I was reading throughout the year.”

Shone began work on Krüller after returning from his opening slot with Tool across the U.S., Australia, and New Zealand, before being cut short due to the March 2020 lockdowns. "Melody has been and is still a part of my sound," says Shone. "I've always bathed them in a lot of reverb, delay, and distortion, though. This time around, I was bothered by the wall of distortion I had created. I wanted a little more clarity. I wanted to refine the sound. I wanted to step back from my own show and analyze it a bit. I had all these competing distortions that I wanted to streamline. I like contrast and wanted the vocals to be immediately noticeable. There's something about mixing punishing drones and rumble with a mellow thing on top that I really like on Krüller.” Shone’s digitised snarls rightfully had their place on earlier tracks like 'Doppler,' 'Terrorbird,' and 'Nihil Strength,' but contrasting mellow vocals atop Author & Punisher’s unparallelled heft made dynamic sense. Indeed, with Shone’s singing on songs like 'Drone Carrying Dread,' 'Maiden Star,' and the exceptional translation of Portishead hit 'Glory Box,' Author & Punisher have projected an air of uncertainty around the steely, often slow-motion grind.

Part of the Krüller revamp included refining the machines that have become synonymous with Author & Punisher. As a result, Shone is also launching a bespoke audio gear company called Drone Machines to coincide with the release of Krüller. The gear company launch follows nearly two decades of Author & Punisher honing in on his craft - meticulously inventing, machining, experimenting, and creating custom musical instruments for his incredible live performances and recordings.

Krüller pre-orders are available now with the 8-song, 52 minute collection available on a selection of limited-edition vinyl variants that tie into the colour palette of the album artwork, CD, cassette and digitally.

Author & Punisher formed in January 2004 as the brainchild of mechanical engineer, artist and sculptor Tristan Shone. Swiss bleak death metallers Near Death Condition announce new album and release single

Ascent from the Mundane album out 12th February via Unique Leader Records

Swiss bleak death metal band Near Death Condition return with single 'The Bridal Chamber', and have announced new album Ascent from the Mundane, due out on 12th February via Unique Leader.

Pre-order Ascent from the Mundane here: orcd.co/ascentfromthemundane

This is Near Death Condition's first new music since 2014's full-length Evolving Towards Extinction.

On the new single, the band comment: “The Universe consists of elements that don’t go without its opposite: light and darkness, the masculine and the feminine, the infinitely large and the infinitely small, the good and the evil. Every thing needs its opposite to exist. And 'The Bridal Chamber', through the metaphor of the twin souls painfully separated from birth in search of the other with the nostalgia of this lost unity, is a hymn to the union of these opposites that can turn ignorance into wisdom.”

On the album Ascent from the Mundane, they continue: "With references to Gnosticism, Ascent from the Mundane is a hymn to the spark of light trapped in the darkness of the world of matter that every human being is made of and is inspired by an introspection, a spiritual journey towards the deepest being, a connection in mindfulness with the darkest side of oneself to let the brightest side shine out. Imbued with darkness and light, the contrast between crawling-in-the-mire rhythmic parts topped with unhinged vocals and otherworldly cosmic lead guitars makes this album an attempt to remind that nothing is completely dark even when it sometimes seems to during the hardest times in life, and that light can only be revealed within darkness.”

Party-slam legends Party Cannon nod to their influences with new single / video

'I Believe in Dani Filth' streaming now

New album Volumes of Vomit out 14th January via Gore House Productions

Scottish party-slam legends (and stuff of nightmares) Party Cannon are a band that never run out of ideas. Selling themselves as conceptually idiotic, musically gifted, legends of partying, and the band with the best logo in death metal, Party Cannon pay less-than-subtle homage to their influences with new single 'I Believe in Dani Filth'.

Watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QW8M_a3XzfQ

Pre-order Volumes Of Vomit here: https://orcd.co/partycannon-volumesofvomit

Commenting on the music video, Cradle of Filth fanatic, Dani Filth number-one fan, and bassist Clankenstein states, “We are going where no slamming death metal band has gone before - the 16-bit realm. Party Slam has been challenged and only one man is capable of defeating us, clearly that man is Dani Filth. Like most unremarkable men in their late twenties, we are obsessed with old school video games and feel we've managed to work that into our music in a cool and unique way with this video. The video was animated by our good friends Bailey Junior and Colin MacGregor Make Over at Scapegoat.TV and is laden with Easter eggs and Party Slam lore."

Continuing on the inspiration of the song, Clankenstein explains, "This track is one of the most intense songs we have ever written and definitely showcases our love for early 2000s brutal death metal with lots of nods (read: plagiarised riffs) to bands like Deeds of FleshGorgasm and Disavowed while still cramming in as many horrendous noises and IQ-lowering slam riffs as possible. Expect relentless blasting, pinch harmonics, and sounds no human should ever even consider making."

Forthcoming album Volumes Of Vomit offers up nine chunks of IQ-lowering, slamming sickness, mass-gaining gym riffs, irresponsibly fast blastbeats, and the swampiest gutturals known to mankind and in true Party Cannon over-the-top style, is not your normal death metal album. This is fully fledged party slam at its most unhinged.

Produced by Jörg Uken (Defeated SanitySinisterAnvilDespondency) at Soundlodge Studios, Volumes Of Vomit delivers the most brutal sound of the band’s career. Raw, live and crushing, you’ll feel like you’re actually in the room with these terrible people - who brought in their well-known guttural friends Ross Sewage (Exhumed), Don Campan (Waking The Cadaver) and Andrew Lomastro (Cerebral Incubation) to assist in the madness.

The album cover and sleeve collages were handled by Jan Grotle of FLUIDS and Cochino Art.

Hailing from Dunfermline, Scotland and signed to Gore House ProductionsParty Cannon have subjected a large portion of the planet to their partying having frequently toured the UK, Europe, North America and Asia. Making waves since their inception in 2010, their debut EP Partied In Half is now considered an iconic release within the slam death metal scene.

Famously, Party Cannon's multicolour party balloon not only stands out against frosty-branched-logo-bands wherever it appears on gig posters, but regularly pops up globally. Make no mistake, Party Cannon know how to stand out.

Party Cannon are:

Stony 'Stony' – Vocals
Mike 'Exceptional Body Hair' – Guitars
Craig 'Shreddy Krueger' – Guitars
Chris 'Clankenstein' – Bass
Martin 'Count Blastula' - Drums

Bitter Branches comment on the new single:
"Power is yours to give to yourself, and yours to take away. Not alleging it ’s easy - or that bad actors won’t try to take it from you - but don’t just give it away. Real freedom and power come from ditching your crutches, facing your fears, and from letting go of what other people think. Comparison is the thief of joy."

'Solo Trip' is a slow burning tune that emphasises the band's caustic post-hardcore inspired style and clever song-writing approach. Equal parts anguished and angular, the track builds on a powerful crescendo of atonal guitar riffs supported by a crushing groove that will satisfy the punk rockers as much as it will the metalheads, all accompanied by a sinister animated visualizer.

The album will also be available as a limited edition red/white vinyl variant available for pre-order through BrooklynVegan. Comprised of Tim Singer (DeadguyKiss It GoodbyeNo Escape), guitarists Matt Ryan (Calvary) and Kevin Sommerville (Lighten Up!) along with drummer Jeff Tirabassi (Walleye), the band have added the inimitable talents of Dan Yemin (LifetimeKid DynamitePaint It Black) to their monstrous live machine following the departure of bassist Brian Kantorek. The group continue to push the boundaries of their genre to give the listener something special - an exploration of the musical pedigree the groups legendary lineup has honed throughout years of touring and recording.

About Bitter Branches
While it would be easy to rely on storied musical resumes and just relive past glories, Philadelphia’s Bitter Branches have taken a decidedly opposite approach. Consisting of members of Deadguy, No Escape, Calvary, Walleye, The Curse, Lighten Up! and more, the band step away from the sounds of the past to further explore the possibilities of punk and hardcore. Their songs speak to the thoughtful frustration gained from years of experiencing first-hand exactly how the world does and oftentimes doesn’t work; and from seeing both peers and heroes fade slowly into comfortable obscurity. Rather than hopeful daydreams, Bitter Branches offer a refreshingly honest observation of society, with scrapes and scars on full display.

Musically, the band has little interest in conforming to the sound of the moment, instead building upon skills honed over years of touring and performing to create something that is unquestionably greater than the sum of the individual parts. Mix in a year of cancelled shows replaced with focused practice and writing, and you have a whole new album before you can say coronavirus. Your Neighbors Are Failures will take you on a rollercoaster of crushing lows and effervescent highs - delivering a tour de force of thunderous songs and more thrills than a summer blockbuster.

Hold Tight!
