New album Family The Smiling Thrush out now via Ripple Music

"It could potentially change the game entirely. A monster of a record!" 9/10 - Metal Hammer
Wonderfully trippy,..dextrous prog” - 4/5 Kerrang
“A reptilian tail whip of harmony, symmetry and total self-alignment.” - 8/10 – Decibel Magazine
"Like a multi-megaton King Crimson, fun, challenging and titanically heavy" - 8/10 Classic Rock Magazine
"One of the best bands of the past decade.." - Metal Injection
"One of Britain’s finest bands. Family The Smiling Thrush, is destined to be one of 2021’s biggest releases." - At The Barrier

British heavy-prog band Boss Keloid have announced a short run of UK dates in May culminating with their appearance at Portals Festival on 15th May in London. Fresh from an onslaught of 'album of the year' accolades at the end of last year, the band will be touring their critically acclaimed album Family The Smiling Thrush with special guests Our Man In The Bronze Age.

Comments vocalist Alex Hurst, "We are very excited to be heading back out on the road on this short run in May that finishes off with the amazing Portals Festival at the Boston Music Rooms in London. Performing our music to a live audience and seeing the joy it brings is something we love and cherish the opportunity to do. Joining us on the first three dates will be the magnificent Our Man In The Bronze Age."

Boss Keloid will bring their gargantuan sounds to:

May 12 – Trillians , Newcastle
May 13 – The Parish, Huddersfield
May 14 – The Jericho Tavern, Oxford
May 15 - Boston Music Room, London (Portals Festival) *

*Boss Keloid only

In 2021 the band released their worldwide critically acclaimed fifth album Family The Smiling Thrush via Ripple Music. Perhaps Boss Keloid's most ambitious album yet, it demonstrates their biggest transformation to date. Entering a new realm which leans more towards the grandeur of monumental prog-rock whilst still embracing their metal edge, the album is a true masterclass in versatility. Seven towering tracks of emotional energy, psychedelic grooves and riff-oriented guitar work combine with the signature melodic yet passionate style that vocalist Alex Hurst has been tweaking and perfecting since their debut, Angular Beef Lesson, in 2010.

Produced and mastered by Chris Fielding at the legendary Foel Studios in Wales, the band entered the studio with a focus on gaining a clearer, more open sounding recording than ever before. The end result is a typically Boss Keloid gargantuan soundscape, littered with spacious jams and sticky grooves which twist and turn in euphonic harmony. Family The Smiling Thrush is their most attention-grabbing effort to date and only further cements their status as one of this era's most interesting and vital bands.

Lyrically throughout Family The Smiling Thrush Boss Keloid explore the notion of the collective being greater than the individual, embracing all flaws and the strengths of each. Each song burrows deeply into areas such as community, communication, family, personal growth, mindfulness and positive inner reflection, inviting the listener to not only join but truly revel in the journey of being alive.

Paul Swarbrick | Guitar
Alex Hurst | Vocals and Guitar
Ste Arands | Drums
Liam Pendlebury-Green | Bass

Thrash trio Misfire release blistering first single 'Fractured'; announce debut album

Debut album Sympathy For The Ignorant out 1st April via MNRK Heavy

Chicago-based thrash trio and recent MNRK Heavy signees Misfire will release their Sympathy For The Ignorant debut full-length on 1st April.  In advance of the record’s release, the band have unveiled a video for first single, 'Fractured'.

Premiered via Decibel Magazine, watch the new video here: https://youtu.be/VP2DCGNd8rI
Pre-order Sympathy For The Ignorant here: https://misfire.lnk.to/sympathyfortheignorant

Notes drummer James Nicademus of the track, “Featured as the first song of the album, ‘Fractured’ unearths the feelings of uncertainty and dread we were faced with in 2020. Inspired by the current state of the world, it delves into the madness that is the pandemic. The song poses the question, ‘What’s left of who we are?,’ as we are left with humanity divided and fractured. The album has a common theme revolving around situations that many people have gone through or will go through. We’re all going through this shit right now so this is our take on it: ‘No matter what you believe, we are fractured, divided, diseased.’ We are looking forward to sharing it with the world!”

Misfire makes old-school flavoured thrash metal devastation with the kind of bombastic firepower that could wake the dead. In the tradition of classic metal trios like VenomMotörhead, and Raven, Misfire makes more noise than bands twice their size, producing song after song of unrelenting fury. It’s music that could have arrived in the thrash golden age of 1986, when bands like MetallicaMegadethSlayerDark Angel, and Sodom delivered vital records. And yet Misfire is forward-thinking, injecting modern metal mastery into their brew for a powerful, timeless sound.

Created in a small studio and engineered by bassist/vocalist Sean Coogan, the debut album for Misfire is free from click-tracks and other unnecessary frills, projecting the purity of what three musicians raised on Pantera and the Big 4 sound like in a room together. Sympathy For The Ignorant is heavy, confident, and filled with the kind of earworm thrash metal riffs that sends aspiring players to the guitar store.

“The album is a sonically badass version of what you’ll hear live. It’s real, no fake shit,” drummer Nicademus says. “It’s very much a throwback to the way things used to be recorded. Like, just turn the shit on, press record, layer some stuff in after that, put some words on top of it, mix it, and it’s done.”

Armed with the attitude and songs to follow in the footsteps of SlayerMetallica, and Lamb Of God, the three men of Misfire are heavy metal lifers. “I started playing drums when I was eleven, and ever since, it’s all I talk about,” says Nicademus“Jay and I started jamming together at ages twelve and thirteen.”

In just a short couple of years, Misfire quickly shared the stage with thrash legends Sacred Reich and modern throwback bands like Iron Reagan and Warbringer. As long-running tastemakers Metal Crypt wrote in a review of Sympathy For The Ignorant“these fellows are ready for the big leagues.”

“Whatever happens, we’re going to be here for a long time because we can’t live without doing this shit,” Nicademus declares. “All we want is to make records, tour, and have a good time doing it.”

Misfire is poised to give the world a much-needed dose of Windy City whiplash. Get ready.

Misfire are:

Jay Johnson – vocals/guitar
Sean Coogan – vocals/bass
James Nicademus – drums

Blood Command announce new album Praise Armageddonism and stream new single

Praise Armageddonism due 1st July via Hassle Records

'Nuns, Guns & Cowboys' streaming now

Blood Command have announced their long-awaited new album, Praise Armageddonism, due 1st July via Hassle Records.

The acclaimed death-pop group have also released their new single 'Nuns, Guns & Cowboys', which you can stream here: https://orcd.co/bc_nuns_guns_cowboys

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/0E_T2aZAA5Y

Pre-order Praise Armageddonism here: https://smarturl.it/Praise_Armageddonism

In the words of Blood Command: "'Nuns, Guns and Cowboys' is a song about feeling empowered to believe in what you want. It’s a bit of a ‘f*ck you’ to anyone who might ridicule others for believing in something that may help them get out of bed in the morning. It should be no one else’s business nor should anyone judge someone for something they believe in.

"Because the album was originally written and recorded with our previous singer, which is now almost three years ago, it feels like the biggest relief being able to finally release it. Recording with
Nikki did breathe new life into the record but we are all still so keen to get it out to the world as it’s been a very long journey to get to this point.

"Finally having
Nikki in Norway (after having waited for over a year and a half since she joined the band!) has been nothing less than a dream for all of us. From the moment that she stepped foot on Bergen soil, we both knew we had made the right decision. We clicked instantly, it honestly feels like we have been best friends for years. Even the first band practice was better than any of us could have imagined and everyone in Blood Command agrees that we couldn’t find a better fit if we tried!"

Of the video, the band comment: "It has been an amazing experience being able to finally be able to create a music video together, now that we are all in Norway. While it was an interesting process creating music videos and finding ways to do band photos on opposite sides of the globe, it has been so much easier and much more rewarding being able to create something as a group in the same room. We had the best time on set, we filmed the video in a nightclub in the middle of Bergen because we wanted to do something that really contrasted with the heaviness of the song, which goes perfectly with our death-pop style. The video was shot by cinematographer and director David Alreak, who had so many clever and unique ideas and was so easy to work with!"

Recorded over three years, and re-recorded with their new vocalist Nikki Brumen (ex-Pagan), Praise Armageddonism is Blood Command at their best yet. A one-of-a-kind proposition, the death-pop group combine blistering riffs, a hardcore attitude, and pop sensibility to create truly scintillating, invigorating music. Previously called 'one of the world's best kept secrets' by Rock Sound, achieved one of the Albums of the Year in Kerrang!, and applauded by Metal Hammer, Blood Command have stepped up even further with their new album, with Nikki Brumen fiercely leading the way.

Blood Command have previously toured with Biffy Clyro, Kvelertak, Rolo Tomassi, and Skindred, following the release of their acclaimed EP Return of the Arsonist, the conceptual successor to 2011's Hand Us The Alphamale EP. The band have also shared the stage with Refused, Tragedy, Comeback Kid, and Gallows, and have played Download Festival, The Great Escape, 2000trees and Roskilde festivals, among others. Now with celebrated UK label Hassle Records and with Nikki at the front, Blood Command's power and prestige only rises higher.

The band spent two years writing and recording material and playing local shows, building their reputation within the French metalcore scene with a series of singles. In May 2016, LANDMVRKS self-released their debut album Hollow, which was produced entirely by Salfati and Exposito. Following the release of Hollow the band ventured on tours throughout Europe, enticing new fans with their modern metalcore style, peppered with hardcore riffs and catchy choruses. The record also landed them slots on big festivals, strengthening their reputation even further.

In 2018 LANDMVRKS signed a record deal with Arising Empire, releasing their second studio album Fantasy. Continuing to build their name with their own fresh take on metalcore, LANDMVRKS went on to travel the world, playing in Japan, embarking on several headline tours and supporting While She Sleeps and Stray From The Path on a UK/European tour.

Last year they returned with a vengeance, fresher and heavier than before with their new album Lost In The Waves. Their heaviest and most organic album to date with an uncompromising, distinctive style - this is LANDMVRKS in their purest form.

Swiss bleak death metallers Near Death Condition release new single & play-through video

'Nothing From Naught' streaming now

Ascent from the Mundane album out 11th February via Unique Leader Records

Swiss bleak death metal band Near Death Condition have released their new single / play-through video 'Nothing From Naught', the second taken from new album Ascent from the Mundane, due out on 11th February via Unique Leader.

Watch the play-through video for 'Nothing From Naught' here: https://youtu.be/aaWLNF7jRTk

Pre-order Ascent from the Mundane here: orcd.co/ascentfromthemundane

This is Near Death Condition's first new music since 2014's full-length Evolving Towards Extinction.

On the album Ascent from the Mundane, they continue: "With references to Gnosticism, Ascent from the Mundane is a hymn to the spark of light trapped in the darkness of the world of matter that every human being is made of and is inspired by an introspection, a spiritual journey towards the deepest being, a connection in mindfulness with the darkest side of oneself to let the brightest side shine out. Imbued with darkness and light, the contrast between crawling-in-the-mire rhythmic parts topped with unhinged vocals and otherworldly cosmic lead guitars makes this album an attempt to remind that nothing is completely dark even when it sometimes seems to during the hardest times in life, and that light can only be revealed within darkness.”

Breathe Atlantis release video for new single 'Changes' ft. Eskimo Callboy's Nico Sallach

'Changes' streaming now via Arising Empire

German quartet Breathe Atlantis are making the metalcore scene shake with their brand new single 'Changes', featuring a guest appearance from Eskimo Callboy's Nico Sallach, out now via Arising Empire.

Check out the video for 'Changes' here: https://youtu.be/F39IqXCVG7I

Stream/purchase 'Changes' here: https://breatheatlantis.lnk.to/changes

Guitarist Jan Euler explains: "'Changes' was a single candidate for us from the beginning, it shows that we have matured in songwriting and perfectly reflects our new sound. That fact we convinced Nico Sallach to take part in the song was of course the cherry on the cake. We've been friends for years and have been on tour together quite often during the To The Rats And Wolves era. I love Nico's voice and it fits wonderfully to the mood and message of 'Changes'".

'Changes' follows Breathe Atlantis' previous singles 'Overdrive', 'Savior' and most recently 'Earthquake', which featured Imminence's Eddie Berg. The band have also confirmed a new album is on the way - stay tuned for more details soon.

Euler concludes: "We now know where our journey with Breathe Atlantis is going. The album is done and will be out next spring. We still have some musical surprises up our sleeve and I believe it will be our strongest, most honest album yet."

Breathe Atlantis have previously played shows with Sum 41, Memphis May Fire, Attila, Bury Tomorrow, Crossfaith and Slaves, toured Europe supporting the likes of Any Given Day, To The Rats And Wolves and Imminence, and played top slots at German festivals.

Irish alt.stoner trio The Last Vinci reveal new single and announce new album

The Revolution is Made Together released 4th March

'Falling from a Mountain of Joy' streaming now

Irish alt.stoner trio The Last Vinci have revealed their new single 'Falling from a Mountain of Joy', taken from their forthcoming LP The Revolution is Made Together, due 4th March via Narrow Door Records.

Watch: https://youtu.be/_w9VxBzcv9E
Stream: https://linktr.ee/thelastvinci

The Last Vinci, from Cork, Ireland, are led by Alex Vinci. Despite the pandemic impacting all music-makers across the globe, The Last Vinci have been working nonstop since the beginning of 2020.

'Falling from a Mountain of Joy' is another glimpse of the band's new material, having entered the studio in April 2021 with Liverpool producer Tom Peters (Alpha Male Tea Party, Bicurious, God Alone). The track centres on that missing piece in our heart - despite that, when we have everything we need, we keep falling from a mountain of joy, and we don't know why.

The Last Vinci and Alex Vinci are well-known for their punishing low frequencies through a three amps set-up and their “give-all-you-have” energetic attitude, larger-then-life stage presence.

Their debut self-titled album was released in 2014, and swiftly followed by The Last Vinci - Live from the Studio, a full live performance recorded at Station Studios, Dublin. The albums were supported by an extensive tour around Ireland, Italy, the UK, Switzerland, and Eastern Europe.

The Last Vinci then released their 2019 EP The World, Enda Kenny, the Devil, the Vegans and all the Millennials shit on Narrow Door Records, again successfully touring across Europe. Aiming to immediately return to the studio, the band's plans were interrupted by the pandemic. Not content to rest, The Last Vinci ended up building The Narrow Studio, a space that became key to working on their new material throughout Covid-19.

German metalcore powerhouse Annisokay, led by vocalist and producer Chris Wieczorek (Sawdust Recording), have released the remastered version of 'Good Stories (2022)'. The track is taken from the band's upcoming special edition of their hit album Aurora (Special Edition), due for release 4th February 2022 via Arising Empire.

Aurora (Special Edition) will be available in CD formats and limited coloured vinyl options, holding three absolute classics remastered with 'Coma Blue', 'Good Stories' and their Japanese bonus track 'Parallel Universe' that has never been released worldwide, together with a full live set that now includes fresh line up with new frontman Rudi Schwarzer.

Annisokay reinvented themselves on their fifth studio album Aurora, which was released earlier this year via Arising Empire and entered at #18 in the official German album charts. The album was the first to feature the band's new frontman and heavy vocalist Rudi Schwarzer - a long-time friend of the band - who stepped into the role in late 2019. Once again guitarist/clean vocalist Christoph Wieczorek oversaw production duties on the album, which is full of heavy riffs, driving percussion, melodic, goosebump-inducing cleans and aggressive shouts. The quartet is completed by drummer Nico Vaeen and bassist Norbert Rose.

Formed in 2007, Annisokay are at the forefront of German metal with their cutting edge sound, which has earned them huge success at home and has seen them breakthrough internationally. The four-piece have embarked on successful tours throughout Europe, the UK, Japan and the USA, including several headline shows in Belarus, Russia and Ukraine, a US run with I Set My Friends On Fire, two sold-out shows in Russia supporting Parkway Drive, and, more recently, the Xmas Bash Tour with Emil Bulls, which marked Schwarzer's first tour with the band.

Annisokay’s first three studio albums were released through Long Branch Records/SPV, all of which charted in the Top 100 Official German Album Charts. In 2018, the band signed to Arising Empire to release their fourth studio album Arms, which reached #26 in the German charts. In January 2021, Annisokay released their most recent album Aurora, which charted at #18 - their highest German chart entry to date.

Annisokay will embark on a European headline tour in 2022, with support from Future Palace and Set Your Sails.
