LANDMVRKS formed in 2014 in Marseille, France, and are now comprised of Florent Salfati on vocals, Rudy Purkart on bass guitar, Nicolas Exposito and Paul C. Wilson on guitars, with Kévin D’Agostino on drums.

The band spent two years writing and recording material and playing local shows, building their reputation within the French metalcore scene with a series of singles. In May 2016, LANDMVRKS self-released their debut album Hollow, which was produced entirely by Salfati and Exposito. Following the release of Hollow the band ventured on tours throughout Europe, enticing new fans with their modern metalcore style, peppered with hardcore riffs and catchy choruses. The record also landed them slots on big festivals, strengthening their reputation even further.

In 2018 LANDMVRKS signed a record deal with Arising Empire, releasing their second studio album Fantasy. Continuing to build their name with their own fresh take on metalcore, LANDMVRKS went on to travel the world, playing in Japan, embarking on several headline tours and supporting While She Sleeps and Stray From The Path on a UK/European tour.

Last year they returned with a vengeance, fresher and heavier than before with their new album Lost In The Waves. Their heaviest and most organic album to date with an uncompromising, distinctive style - this is LANDMVRKS in their purest form.

Australian alt. group Triple One acoustic live version of 'Come Over' hit

Australian four-piece Triple One have released a live acoustic version of their new hit 'COME OVER', featuring Matt Mason of rock trio DMA'S.

Watch here: https://youtu.be/6cTe89dyTNw

'COME OVER' has garnered over a million streams across all platforms since its release and has broken the top 40 in Shazam AU Top 200.

Watch the original video for 'COME OVER' here: https://youtu.be/E9rI7OFMEao

While Triple One have earned notoriety for their slapstick humour and boorish punchlines, 'COME OVER' sees them delve into the introspective artistry that has evolved triumphantly since their first single. The song combines Triple One's raw storytelling with more abstract references, describing "a situation where you're stuck in a loop of bad habits in a relationship, and not really being aware of that until it's too late. Ultimately, you have to know when to move on; but we often choose what we want, rather than what's actually good for us." What results is an intimate listen that highlights the group's intensely relatable songwriting, reaching a die-hard fanbase that stretches across Australia and well into Europe.

Sonically, 'COME OVER' is a tender statement that still captivates listeners with grandiose flair. Having shared a studio next door to longtime friend Matt Mason of DMAs, he offers the gleaming, nostalgic guitar riffs that open 'COME OVER', building gradually into one of Lil Dijon's most anthemic, stadium-sized hooks: "I wish I knew your hands like I knew I used to/Between my fingers, run through your hair/And it's the same mistakes we making in motion/Pretend you know this, I can't pretend." Producer Billy Gunns continues to effortlessly fuse the hip-hop and alternative worlds that Triple One have long dominated, placing Mason's riffs alongside trap-flavoured 808s and furious drums that foreshadow the song's most momentous drops. Rappers Marty Bugatti and Obi Ill Terrors trade poignant verses describing their own fleeting joys and inner turmoil, giving 'Come Over' a distinctly greyscale finish.

‘COME OVER’ arrives alongside an avant-garde visual accompaniment directed by Marty Bugatti, and is a sardonic take on consumption, hedonism, and fast lifestyles, showcasing the group’s trademark humour and style. Marty Bugatti explains further, “I thought it would be interesting to take the very emotive/introspective song and juxtapose it against a typical pop/rap music video. The song touches on lost love and the monotonous cycle of living in excess and bad habits, whereas the video glorifies material possession. I wanted it to feel like some hotshot director that knew nothing about Triple One came in and said "This is how we make a pop/rap music video" without paying much attention to the actual song itself or the message behind it.”

The group have also announced their Come Over Tour, a 10-date run that brings the transcendent Triple One live show to Australia’s sweatiest underground venues, showcasing a mix of new material and old favourites. These will be the group’s most special and intimate shows yet, before their next project catapults them into the stratosphere.

'COME OVER' follows Triple One's recent single 'BLOOD RAVE', which recently garnered an inaugural J Award nomination for ‘Australian Music Video of the Year’. The single was added to national radio rotation, as well as earning the group a cover spot on Spotify's The Hybrid playlist. In 2020, Triple One released their debut album Panic Force which debuted at #1 on the ARIA Hip-Hop charts, followed by a sold-out national tour. Their 2019 breakout single 'Butter' has been certified Gold in Australia, while the group have become one of the country's most ferocious live acts, playing at the landmark events including Falls Festival, Listen Out, and this year's virtual Splendour XR.

Triple One are impossible to categorise, and even harder to ignore. Brash bars come courtesy of rappers Marty Bugatti and Obi Ill Terrors, melodic hooks by Lil Dijon float in paranormal fashion while greyscale production is expertly crafted by Billy GunnsTriple One are a sonic experiment between hard, soft, and all the textures in between.

Triple One's early cult singles 'Doozy' and 'Overflow' scored millions of views and streams internationally, but 2019 was the year that Triple One broke into Australia's consciousness: their singles 'Showoff', 'Tarlo' and 'Valentine Kid' were added to high rotation on triple j, and they were also profiled by Complex, GQ and Highsnobiety. Their 2019 single 'Butter' also dominated radio airwaves and led to the group's debut UK/European tour and five sold-out shows across Australia. 'Butter' was later certified Gold in Australia.

In 2020, Triple One released their debut album Panic Force which debuted at #1 on the ARIA hip-hop charts, and #8 on the ARIA album charts. It was also crowned the triple j 'Feature Album of the Week'. Onstage is where Triple One truly state their case. Having earned a notorious live reputation through relentless gigging across Australia, 2021 saw the band sell out their Panic Force Tour nationally in the midst of difficult pandemic circumstances. The release of 'BLOOD RAVE' and 'COME OVER' heralds the exciting next chapter for Triple One.

Hold Tight expands: Seth Werkheiser joins as freelance email marketing executive

Hello!

At Hold Tight we pride ourselves on always offering our clients the best range of approaches to music media and marketing. Being ahead of the curve enough that the curve is a mere blip over our shoulders.

The music media landscape – especially with the last couple of years of tumult – is ever-changing. An ever-changing landscape means you need to adapt and adopt new approaches or risk falling behind.

Over the last couple of years we’ve developed a variety of flexible offerings, including approaching newer media (YouTube reactionaries, Twitch streamers) and building our digital marketing wing – headed up by our legendary Darren Gosling.

The next natural step was to build email marketing into our marketing operation, so allow me to introduce the lovely Seth Werkheiser, who’s joined us as a freelance email marketing executive.

Seth might already be a known face to some of you. He’s been writing about music since 2001 and co-founded Noisecreep in 2008. He’s behind the commendable Metal Bandcamp Gift Club and – along with Hold Tight – works with MNRK Heavy (formerly eOne Heavy), and leading US PR agencies.

You’ll be hearing plenty more about this and other subjects over the next wee while – including why we advocate email marketing for basically all our clients who take their fanbase seriously – but for now,

Extinction A.D. stream politically charged new single '1992'

US metal band Extinction A.D. have unveiled their politically charged new single '1992', taken from the upcoming album, Culture of Violence, due 18th March via Unique Leader.

Watch the lyric video to '1992' here: https://youtu.be/_Fh_GDyKsGw

Vocalist / guitarist Rick Jimenez commented: "1992 - I was 12 years old in 1992 and the weight of the events that took place in America were heavy. Throughout the last decade and into this one, I've gone back and drawn parallels between what's happened in our recent history and what's happening now all while viewing things now through the eyes of an adult. This song is a pummeller both musically and thematically and will hopefully open some eyes about the problem with not learning from the past."

Pre-order Culture of Violence here: https://orcd.co/cultureofviolence

On the new record, Extinction A.D. comment: "Culture Of Violence is the album we've been in the process of creating since 2015. This is the record where we can firmly say with confidence, 'This is what XAD is all about!' The recording and releasing process has always been behind our songwriting by a few years, so the previous material was outdated to us before we even went in to record it. On this album, we moulded ideas for years as well as the fact that we never stopped writing, so everything is fresh and capturing us in this moment. Musically, lyrically, thematically and visually, this record is a heavy experience and a savage interpretation of what we've all witnessed and experienced over the past few years."

'1992' follows previous single, 'Mastic' watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ko-VnaXE01g

Formed in 2013 in Long Island US, Extinction A.D. are an intense metal band with modern power and frenetic energy. The band have released two full-lengths and an EP, and have shared stages with the likes of Obituary, Thy Art is Murder, Havok, Municipal Waste, Testament, Suicidal Tendencies, Exodus Kvelerta, Harm’s Way and more.

So many different worlds shaped this band; from writers like Alan Moore and George Orwell; lyricists like Wreak Havoc and Chuck D; to directors like Tarantino and John Carpenter. But musically, Extinction A.D. hook up a tube of early 90s era of metal into their veins. Not just bands like Machine Head and Pantera, but the often overlooked 90s offerings from Testament, Sepultura and Slayer.

Thrashing just as hard as their predecessors, the band also break their surroundings down and deliver some heavy as hell riotous mosh; hitting that all-important sweet spot mixture of 80s thrash, 90s extreme metal and New York hardcore, all encompassed into their new LP.

Extinction A.D will tour the USA 18th January - 20th February with Cattle Decapitation, The Last Ten Seconds of Life and Creeping Death, and follow that with a headline run with Rhythm of Fear.

The news follows Cro-Mags' most recent release, their 2020 EP, released 9th April 2021 via Arising Empire.

The soundtrack to one of the most turbulent years on record, 2020 is 20 minutes and 20 seconds, and plays as a time-capsule look into the burning dumpster fire of that year.

Cro-Mags were scheduled to go on tour in support of their previous album In The Beginning in the summer of 2020, booked solid throughout Europe, UK, Japan and South America. All was set to kick-off with a show at Webster Hall (NYC) with Body Count on 15th March - when suddenly the Coronavirus quarantine went into effect, and the year of madness began. In response, Cro-Mags pivoted, performing one of the very first live stream shows, “The Quarantine Show”, from the historic (and now defunct) SIR Studios in Manhattan's Chelsea neighbourhood.

As Flanagan recounts, “(Drummer) G-Man was stuck in New York for seven months because of the travel ban, so we started writing songs, and as soon as we were able to get into the studio we started tracking.” Recorded at Steve Zing's (Sam Hain, Danzig) newly launched Trick or Treat Studio, they brought back Arthur Rizk who produced In The Beginning.

Rocky George managed to get out of NYC before the lockdown in March and tracked his guitars in Los Angeles. Guitarist Gabby Abularach remained in Guatemala during the travel ban and decided that both personally and professionally he was in need of a change and to move in ‘a different direction.’

Aware of the quarantine and travel ban, Cro-Mags asked long-time friend Joseph Affe (M.O.D, Maximum Penalty, Harley's War) to play "The Quarantine Show". Joe had just toured Europe and the UK with CRO-MAGS in late 2019 when Rocky couldn't make the trip. Harley had played with Joe on and off since 2003 in different projects and it was a perfect fit, so Cro-Mags brought Affe on to do the EP. After all the years, playing the entire catalogue and having so recently filled in for both Rocky and Gabby, it was seamless.

Cro-Mags founder Harley Flanagan explains, “Just by coincidence we recorded 20 minutes and 16 seconds of music, so we simply added a few seconds of real-world chaos. The album cover is meant to look like a calendar - seven squares across, with one picture from 2020 per day. Inside the booklet there are 12 pictures, one for each month of 2020; and the back is a shot of something I have never seen before in my life - a totally empty New York City. Coronavirus, quarantine, empty streets, brutality, burning buildings, violence and destruction: 2020 is a year none of us will ever forget.”

2020 tracklist:
1 - Age Of Quarantine
2 - 2020
3 - Life On Earth
4 - Violence and Destruction
5 - Chaos In The Streets
6 - Cro-Fusion

“Fast punk and thrashy breakdowns” - DECIBEL

Breathe Atlantis release video for new single 'Break The Silence'

Metalcore quartet Breathe Atlantis have released a video for their new single 'Break The Silence'. The track is the fifth glimpse into the band's upcoming album Overdrive, due for release on 18th March via Arising Empire.

Once again, Breathe Atlantis deliver a singalong earworm with 'Break The Silence', as vocalist Nico Schiesewitz bursts with pure emotion and energy.

Guitarist Jan Euler comments:

"In 'Break The Silence' we mercilessly reckon with our past. For us, the song is a catharsis of all the things inside of us that have held us back too many times, and it's a turning point from stagnation and passivity. In the past we often got in our own way trying to express ourselves and we also let too many people tell us what to do. This has come to an end and the brutality and rawness of the song shows the inner struggle to finally break away from all the bad habits and speak for ourselves."

Overdrive is available to pre-order in various formats here: https://arisingempire.com/overdrive

Featuring 'Break The Silence', as well as previous singles ‘Changes’ (feat. Eskimo Callboy’s Nico Sallah), ‘Earthquake’, ‘Savior’ (feat. Imminence’s Eddie Berg) and title track ‘Overdrive’, Breathe Atlantis display a maturity on their new record that will no doubt skyrocket them to success. Working with producer Andy Posdziech (Any Given Day, Caliban, Nasty), the four-piece brought their true identity to the surface and wrapped it in a modern, aggressive sound.

The first new material since their 2019 album Soulmade, Overdrive is two years in the making and packed with bigger, heavier riffs and driving, forceful drums. Schiesewitz's relentless, bone-grinding shouts will send shivers down your spine, until the stadium-ready choruses hit you right in the gut.

Author & Punisher releases new video 'Incinerator' on album release day

San Diego-based outfit Author & Punisher has unveiled a video to 'Incinerator', taken from the new album, Krüller, out today (11th February) via Relapse Records.

Watch the video to 'Incinerator' here: https://youtu.be/VDPyZw31yZc

“’Incinerator’ is about outrage and urgency. The world is actually on fire,” offers Tristan Shone. “We are dealing with extreme conditions of a warming climate yet face brutal resistance by those who want to deflect our rage towards each other for their profit. Special thanks to director Ansel Wallenfang and DP James Rexroad who worked tirelessly to translate this rage into a visual adventure/nightmare.”

Shone, speaking about the album, adds:Krüller is an album that reflects on massive failures of our past/present and tries to imagine how we will descend into a post societal future where we support and conserve rather than destroy.”

Shone began work on Krüller after returning from his opening slot with Tool across the U.S., Australia, and New Zealand, before being cut short due to the March 2020 lockdowns. "Melody has been and is still a part of my sound," says Shone. "I've always bathed them in a lot of reverb, delay, and distortion, though. This time around, I was bothered by the wall of distortion I had created. I wanted a little more clarity. I wanted to refine the sound. I wanted to step back from my own show and analyze it a bit. I had all these competing distortions that I wanted to streamline. I like contrast and wanted the vocals to be immediately noticeable. There's something about mixing punishing drones and rumble with a mellow thing on top that I really like on Krüller.”

Three previous singles - Blacksmith, Drone Carrying Dread and Maiden Star - have showcased the new avenues Shone is taking his music. Consequence said 'Drone Carrying Dread' is “one of the prettiest A&P tracks to date, though no less sonically powerful,” Metal Injection noted the music’s “massive industrial percussion, floating synths and dreamy guitars,” and Revolver succinctly dubbed the collection “emotional machine music.”

On Krüller, Line Of Best Fit described it as "a raging and recoiling sonic purge" and Metal Hammer stated that it's "inventively bleak industrial metal".

Part of the Krüller revamp included refining the machines that have become synonymous with Author & Punisher. As a result, Shone is also launching a bespoke audio gear company called Drone Machines to coincide with the release of Krüller. The gear company launch follows nearly two decades of Author & Punisher honing in on his craft - meticulously inventing, machining, experimenting, and creating custom musical instruments for his incredible live performances and recordings.

Krüller is available now (https://orcd.co/authorandpunisher-kruller) with the 52-minute collection available on a selection of limited-edition vinyl variants, that tie into the colour palette of the album artwork, CD, cassette and digitally.

Author & Punisher have added several U.S. tour dates while simultaneously moving the forthcoming European headlining tour to Spring. The planned U.K. / EU dates have been cancelled. An overseas Fall trek with Perturbator and Health begins on 6th October.

Author & Punisher formed in January 2004 as the brainchild of mechanical engineer, artist and sculptor Tristan Shone. It's melodic and modern fucking heavy music! Our upcoming EP (due late Spring) is all about that heaviness. The lyrical content is depicting an individual’s inner struggles with our self-destructive behaviors, toxic surroundings, substance abuse or any other negative influences.

"We can assure you, that this is our best music video yet and the songs hectic madness is greatly reflected by our performances throughout the clip. We had so much fun shooting it and every time we can go out together and play it's an opportunity to go totally mad and let the steam out. That's what's most enjoyable for us and this video perfectly captured our raw energy and strong live performance.

“This also marks our first official release with our new label, Seek and Strike. This is an amazing partnership with like-minded people who share the same goals as we do. We’re most looking forward to touring and playing live shows again. Sharing our love for music with our fans in person is what it’s all about because music exists to connect with people.

"We love extreme music and ‘Parasite’ is our tribute to all the genres we love and on the other hand, it's something completely new that we felt was missing in today's scene. We make music that we would love to go see live and mosh-pit to. It's our most sincere form of expressing our love to heavy music and paying back the community that shaped us.

Alt-rock quartet El Moono release new video 'Requiem'

Alternative quartet El Moono have released the startling new video for their track 'Requiem'.

'Requiem' is taken from the band's acclaimed new EP Temple Corrupted, out now via Lockjaw Records.

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/jcjMS4PPr3Q

In the words of the band: "'Requiem' was a lockdown demo started by Jamie in the wake of hearing about a family member's health diagnosis, and when shared with the band, Zac started writing the lyrics. Inspired by Jamie's family and Zac's own experiences with loved ones' health struggles, the lyrics explore the fragility of life, and how we as humans turn to ritualistic superstitions to give answers to the things we can’t comprehend, like loss and death.

"This song is a real call to arms, and we've already seen an emotive reaction from our fans when we play it live. It's been a journey to see such a positive response from the song's dark origins."

Order Temple Corrupted here: https://elmoono.lnk.to/templecorrupted

The EP – a raucous mix of Deftones, Thrice, Black Peaks, and Phoxjaw – marks a new era for the band. It follows heavy pre-Covid touring around the UK and Europe with Black Peaks, Phoxjaw, Haggard Cat and Press to Meco, and fully showcases El Moono’s expansive tastes and approach.

Influences of rock, hardcore, post-hardcore, sludge, grunge and metal, the band's off-kilter and oftentimes mind-bending riffs, emotive songs and expressive lyricism combine to create a sound that’s difficult to pigeonhole.

A band unafraid to experiment sonically, El Moono tracked their EP in an ancient church, and notably features the piano used during Adele's Glastonbury performance.

Temple Corrupted is a concept EP, focused on depression and anxiety, and how societal corruption affects individual mental health. Listen out, for example, for track five, 'Miseria', which directly tackles the first-person experience of self-loathing. The song brings attention to the staggering statistics around suicide, and what might happen in future if our attitudes toward mental health remain the same.

'White Gold' tackles issues around institutionalised segregation of race and the injustices ethnic minorities face, fronting up to how the UK is an ‘ignorant empire’. Unafraid to confront serious events, their track 'Requiem' was inspired by watching a loved one waste away due to illness – a direct nod to guitarist Jamie’s father’s diagnosis of chronic cancer at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic.

A band fully committed to their message and to change, drummer Chris runs a clothing brand, ‘Over Your Head’ donating profit portions to mental health charities.

‘White Gold’ gained the attention of legendary artist Dan Hillier, who lent his stunning artwork for the cover. El Moono are the third band Dan has worked with after fellow Brighton-based heavyweights Royal Blood and Architects.

A reflection on the fragility of life, Temple Corrupted is a fearsome and impassioned EP from a highly promising group.
