Greyhaven release chilling new single 'ORNAMENTS FROM THE WELL'

Progressive post-hardcore quartet Greyhaven have released their chilling new single 'ORNAMENTS FROM THE WELL'. The track is taken from their upcoming album This Bright And Beautiful World, due for release on 15th April 2022 via Rude Records (UK/EU) / Equal Vision Records (RoW).

'ORNAMENTS FROM THE WELL' highlights a continued shift into a new era of the band, evoking a mix of anguished alt-rock and post-hardcore, punctuated by moments of raw brutality. The new song is the tenth and final track of the album, and a fitting conclusion to the band's most emotive release yet. Serpentine riffs permeate the song, building a sinister tension that helps the band's distinct melodic sensibilities shine. The lyrics are stark and brooding, adding a palpable sense of darkness to the track that is punctuated by a swirling accompany visualiser.

Vocalist Brent Mills comments on the song's theme:

"Last song on the record. First and only song I had finished lyrics for when we left for the studio. I didn’t realize it would set the tone for the record as far as the theme goes, but this song really showed me where I was and what to lean into when writing the rest of the songs. The song is purely about depression and sinking headfirst into what feels like endless hell. I really didn’t think I could keep going at the time, but somehow here I am and that’s where this song comes from.”

With two records under their belt (Cult America and Empty Black), Greyhaven utilised their classic chaotic energy when writing This Bright and Beautiful World. Written in five different locations, the band wanted all of their ideas to present themselves once they entered the studio with producer Will Putney at Graphic Nature Audio. Taking pride in simply being “four guys who like to play music”, Greyhaven left with a diverse set of 10 songs that dive into themes of frustration, depression, the inability to fully express yourself and appreciating the darker parts of life, even though that may seem impossible at times.

Conjurer announce new album, Páthos, and stream new single/video

Páthos due 1st July via Nuclear Blast

'It Dwells' single streaming now

The future of British metal lies in safe hands with Conjurer, who today have announced their long-awaited new album Páthos, which will be released 1st July via Nuclear Blast.

Conjurer continue their journey as the country’s most exciting young metal band with the incredible new album. Celebrating the news, the Midlands quartet have also streamed the first single from Páthos, the mighty 'It Dwells'.

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/mjzFuNeAwNQ

Pre-order Páthos and stream 'It Dwells' here: https://conjurer.bfan.link/it-dwells.ema

A triumphant return from Conjurer following their world-renowned 2018 debut Mire, Páthos is a band flexing their creative muscles, deepening their approach and thought, and expanding their sound.

Bassist Conor Marshall comments: "Excited to finally be able to share the album with everyone! I’m sure this is the same for every band trying to release an album during the pandemic but it feels like we’ve been holding on to it for so long, so it’s nice for it to not be my problem any more and to be able to actually talk about it!"

Opener ‘It Dwells’ is the perfect introduction – earth-shatteringly heavy, unconventional, uniquely beautiful, and instantly recognisable as Conjurer. The track is centred on the contradictions of the emotion of ‘fear’ – that fear can be comfortable and constant, haunting and crushing. It builds to a point of breaking – the need to end fear battling against your will to go on. The repeated screams ‘I’ll have peace’ are an ambivalent declaration of defiance – give in, or fight, either way fear is gone.

Of the single, guitarist/vocalist Dan Nightingale states: "I think 'It Dwells' is a good introduction to the sound of the record, from the musical influences to the lyrics and how we’ve drawn from what’s been going on in our lives, it’s one of our most personal outings for sure. It’s nice to have been able to step up our game with the music videos for this album as well. Good album. Top track. Boss man."

Páthos is not an album for the half-hearted or faint-hearted. Elements of Sumac, Gojira, old Mastodon and Oathbreaker, the new record is a multi-layered beast – sludge, death, doom, black metal and hardcore influences clash and collide throughout, all masterfully finished by Will Putney’s exquisite mix and master.

The fifty-minute runtime of Páthos is not without its moments of the sublime, with post-metal nods to Conjurer and Pijn’s acclaimed Curse These Metal Hands project throughout. That a band can be at once so triumphantly beautiful and gut-punchingly heavy is testament to Conjurer’s quality, and a surefire sign of their future longevity at the top of Britain’s heavy music scene.

Conjurer’s debut full-length Mire (2018) was released to a storm of attention from across the metal world, garnering significant acclaim from Metal Hammer UK, Kerrang!, BBC R1, NME, Visions Mag (DE), MetalSucks, Metal Injection, Loudwire and many more. Recipients of award nominations (Kerrang!, Heavy Music Awards, Metal Hammer’s Golden Gods) and countless albums of the year lists, Mire is a stunning listen, capturing the attitude of a young band who already know exactly who they are.

Hailed as one of the metal world’s most devastating, thrilling experiences, Conjurer are a band never content to rest. Following Mire’s release in 2018 the quartet soon toured Europe for the first time, appeared at multiple UK festivals, and support of doom titans Conan and Will Haven.

In the following years the band have toured the US twice, supporting Rivers of Nihil (stopping to record an Audiotree session along the way), and then Voivod, with Revocation. 2019 also saw Conjurer’s debut Download Festival appearance, thrilling a packed-out Dogtooth stage, and the release of the joyous collaborative project with Pijn, titled Curse These Metal Hands.

It was only at the end of 2019 that Conjurer closed out their triumphant Mire cycle, with a sold-out UK run – their debut headline tour. Using the COVID-19 pandemic to record and craft Páthos, Conjurer returned to the live setting performing at the Download Pilot 2021 and Bloodstock 2021 mainstages.

blacktoothed announce new album JULI & release video for new single 'Pulse'

JULI due for release 29th July 2022 via Arising Empire

German rock quartet blacktoothed have announced their new album JULI, due for release on 29th July 2022 via Arising Empire. The band have also unveiled their new single 'Pulse', which features guest vocals from Kassim Auale (ex-Alazka).

Check out the video for 'Pulse' here: https://youtu.be/Hxu2u-QZ7tM

Pre-order/pre-save JULI here: https://arisingempire.com/juli

blacktoothed's most personal single to date, 'Pulse' explores sleepless nights, depression and anxiety at its lowest. “'Pulse' was the perfect single long before we knew we were even writing an album”, vocalist Hendrik comments. The single also includes the only vocal feature on JULI, as Matti explains: “Working with Kassim felt like the perfect choice, considering just the soul and heart he puts into his voice, so we love the way it vibes with the whole story of the song.”

Produced by Annisokay guitarist Cristoph Wieczorek and Julian Breucker at Sawdust Recordings studio, JULI is blacktoothed narrowing their style. “Recording JULI was a funny three-way experience, involving three different recording sessions over the course of two years, changing band members, finally getting the flow in our songwriting process and, of course, lots of bad jokes and food with our producing team (cheers!) - to sum it up, we might finally know what we are doing musically,” David, Matti and Hendrik recall.

“With JULI, our main concern is to create awareness that we carry a lot of potential to change the lives of our loved ones for the worse, but at the same time recognise how we might be able to help those affected.”

blacktoothed stand out from the crowd, combining an array of stylistic elements from a variety of genres. JULI is characterised by the band's unique combination of striking rock, filigree guitar work and catchy pop-hooks, with a hint of 80's inspiration.

Despite the inspiring and motivating times during their songwriting and recording process, blacktoothed long to be back on stage, as soon as the global pandemic allows. The band have previously performed at Impericon Festival and shared stages with Annisokay, Bad Omens, Hands Like Houses, Polaris, Thundermother, Acres and many more.

THUMPER release new single 'Fear Of Art'

Taken from their debut album, Delusions of Grandeur,
out Friday 18th March 2022 via EMMS

Irish noise-pop / alt-rock sextet THUMPER have released their stunning new single 'Fear Of Art'.

Stream here: https://orcd.co/j4a8pjo

Watch the vivid, sprawling 6-minute epic here: https://youtu.be/-V-a3PuiGVk

'Fear of Art' is the fourth song released from THUMPER's forthcoming debut album Delusions of Grandeur, following singles Ad Nauseam, The Loser, and Overbite. A rampagingly infectious listen, the new single is classic THUMPER - self-aware, wry, maximalist and instantly alluring.

Frontman Oisín Leahy Furlong comments: "It’s about self-image, and your capacity to change. To reach beyond your comfort zone, and become a ‘better’ person. The two verses represent the two sides of your brain, one pragmatic and one a dreamer. The chorus is a third entity laughing at the prospect of the whole thing, that the struggle will never mean as much to anyone else as it does to you."

Of the epic video Oisín Leahy Furlong comments: "'Fear of Art' is the final single to be released before we unveil our whole debut record, so we knew we wanted to make something special to go with it. This music video is the culmination of months of planning and a huge two-day shoot - our most expansive video yet.

"We enlisted the help of The Collective, a Dublin based production company responsible for genre-bending videos for
Fontaines DC, Just Mustard, Denise Chaila and more. We collaborated with writer/director Jade de Robles Rossdale to create a treatment. The video involves a dysfunctional family reunion, complete with extramarital affairs, drug use, food fights, and even total vehicular destruction (recalling the Delusions of Grandeur album cover)."

Pre-order Delusions of Grandeur here: https://orcd.co/j4a8pjo

Over the last two years the Dublin six-piece have been developing their sound and building an increasingly passionate fanbase. With a line up of two drummers and three guitarists, THUMPER’s maximalist wall of sound has long since set them apart in the booming Dublin music scene, and has them “punching like heavyweights alongside Fontaines DC and The Murder Capital” (Chris Hawkins, BBC Radio 6).

Delusions of Grandeur reveals THUMPER’s trademark penchant for saccharine melody and unabashed hooks, all the while set against their signature psych-drenched rumble. This harsh juxtaposition of sweet and caustic is where THUMPER thrive.

While Delusions of Grandeur features plenty of homages to classic alt rock such as Weezer, Pixies or The Dandy Warhols, it is also steeped in the influence of contemporaries such as Viagra Boys, King Gizzard, Shame and even Idles at their most psychedelic. At other points the sheer bombastic nature of its production recalls Irish psych alumni My Bloody Valentine on Loveless, or no wave veterans Sonic Youth on Daydream Nation.

Nowhere is this bombastic recording process more apparent than on the record's final act – the 20-minute 'Overbite' Suite consisting of three songs recorded and performed as one long piece - this epic attempt at pushing past the mould of what a ‘song’ can be, in part justified by the album’s title.

Delusions of Grandeur however is not just a statement of musical intent. The LP's title refers to a struggle of self image, internal and external, and the existential maintenance that all of this implies. Frontman Leahy Furlong’s visceral and surreal lyrics obsess over the search for the ‘authentic self’ in a medium so steeped in pretentiousness.

This central tension mirrors and challenges the chaos of light and dark in the music itself, as the record continuously swings from light hearted to brutal, keeping the listener hooked the entire time.

While THUMPER remain 'Cult heroes' (Clash Magazine) in Ireland, the six-piece band are no stranger to international touring. They've already completed 3 extensive UK tours, a European tour, supported Fangclub, and appeared at festivals such as Groningen's Eurosonic Festival ('My highlight of Eurosonic. Epic! Such a massive, massive sound' Abbie McCarthy, BBC Radio 1), and Hamburg's Mucke Bei Dei Fische.

This volume of touring is no mean feat for a band who are only now releasing their first LP, but THUMPER are not resting on their laurels. 2022 will see THUMPER head to Reeperbahn Festival and Iceland Airwaves, amongst many others.

THUMPER will be touring their record throughout this year, performing across the UK, Europe, and North America.

Dates as follows:

15th March: The Victoria, Dalston (album launch show)
18th March: Collins Barracks, Dublin (supporting Damien Dempsey)
19th March: Grand Social, Dublin
13th May: The Great Escape, Brighton

Of the addition of Leprous, co-organiser Ash Cook comments: "Leprous are a band that can’t really be compared to anyone else when you take into account their discography. Each album is often described by critics as original as they modify their sound to include slightly more metal, alternative, indie, folk elements with each release.

With
Einar Solberg’s unique voice, and his ability to play keys and synths at the same time, it almost hasn’t mattered what the rest of the band does at the same time. Album after album, it just comes together.

2019’s Pitfalls was an album that showed their most progressive side yet, and after missing that tour, it will be great to see material from that and their newest album, Aphelion being performed live at
RADAR, as well as hopefully some of their heavier numbers too."

Radar Festival 2022 will again have musician masterclasses, fantastic food, and more surprises - held in the renovated venue of Casino, Guildford.

With their mixture of international talent and confirmed homegrown success, Radar Festival position themselves as champions of forward-thinking guitar-led music. Launched in 2019 to acclaim, with performances from Animals As Leaders, Agent FrescoRolo Tomassi and more, the new festival is already making a claim as one of the UK's most exciting progressive music events.

The self-titled debut album is produced by David Radahd-Jones (Heaven’s Basement, The Fallen State, The Cruel Knives, Death Blooms), and upon its release, will be accompanied by a UK tour.

On the new album, the band comment:
“Our self-titled debut album is a commentary on the world we currently live in, tackling issues such as abuse and bullying, war mongering for financial gain, poverty, greed, fake news, unjust and deceitful political misgivings, election fraud, human rights abuses and climate change concerns. But the message of the album is one of positivity and empowerment. There are a lot of inequities in this world, but people can and do get strength and take control, through challenging and standing up to abusers, politicians and general wrong doers.”

Eastbourne/Brighton based Amongst Liars formed in early 2020 and play a unique blend of energetic, modern rock, taking influences from bands and artists such as Audioslave, Royal Blood, Rage Against the Machine, Bring Me The Horizon, Slaves, Jack White, Biffy Clyro, Shinedown, Cleopatrick and Queens of the Stoneage. Lyrically the band speak about modern life, tackling issues such as mental health, homelessness, fake news and government failings.

To date they have released six extremely well received singles amassing over 200k Spotify streams, as well as strong video views across all platforms, widespread support and plays from BBC Introducing, Kerrang!, Primordial and countless national and local radio stations. Future Palace release video for new single 'Flames'

New album Run out 10th June 2022 via Arising Empire

German post-hardcore trio Future Palace have released a video for their new single 'Flames'. The track is another glimpse into their upcoming sophomore album Run, due for release on 10th June 2022 via Arising Empire.

Check out the video for 'Flames': https://youtu.be/Mhm7QVGmUng

Pre-order Run in various formats here: https://futurepalace.lnk.to/run

'Flames' is a bitter look into a dark past, mirroring the pain with a razor-sharp note, before shaking off the demons in the epochal chorus. Future Palace pull out all of the stops to embody this complex network of emotions.

The fresh heaviness that Future Palace have displayed on their recent singles gains a whole new dimension in 'Flames'. The most brutal death and metalcore elements crash against throbbing 808 beats, often reminiscent of trap structures. Future Palace are making a statement: If you want to process agonising experiences, you have to go through every aspect of emotion.

Maria comments:

"'Flames' is one of our most powerful and aggressive songs. Instrumentally as well as
vocally, we have tried out a multitude of new stylistic means here. In terms of content,
the song looks back on my often painful past. Like its predecessors,
however, it conveys the will to fight and hope.“

Once again, Future Palace teamed up with Pavel Trebukhin (Imminence, Novelists FR) to shoot the impressive music video for 'Flames'. The accompanying visuals for previous singles 'Paradise' and 'Heads Up' didn't skimp on imagery, but the new video is perhaps the most elaborate visualisation that Future Palace have ever released.

One of the most aspiring post-hardcore acts in Germany, Future Palace signed to Arising Empire to release their debut album Escape in 2020, which garnered several million streams across streaming platforms.

Future Palace's sophomore album Run was produced by Julian Breucker (Beyond The Black) and mixed/mastered by Annisokay guitarist Christoph Wieczorek. Run explores the aftermath of a toxic relationship, how the struggle with your own salvation is only the beginning, even after escaping from a dramatic situation. Blending the rawness of Holding Absence, Spiritbox and While She Sleeps with the irresistible, sweeping sounds of Bring Me The Horizon and PVRIS, the visually stunning and vulnerable record sets these painful processes to atmospheric post-hardcore, portraying the ups and downs of emotion.

Future Palace are currently on tour across Europe with Annisokay, ahead of their first ever headline tour across Germany in spring 2022. Full dates here: https://future-palace.com/#tourdates

Frontman and bandleader Joel Holmqvist commented "The new single 'Transcendent' is a little bit different compared to the other songs we've released so far. It has some extended clean vocals in it and was really fun to write. I hope people will enjoy it and the fact that we are trying out some different style of songs, while trying to stick to the AVIANA sound, which is something you can expect from the whole album."

On the album, he continues: "There is an album coming in August, finally. But I never wanted to have people sit around and wait for new AVIANA music. Instead I've been working continuously to try and get new stuff out there for the fans. You should consider this album more of an "Collection of Singles" rather than something else. There will be new songs on the album which haven't been released yet, but also songs that we've already put out since 2021 will be on the album."

Previous single 'Obsession' released in January made it into the headlines, placing the band at the number one spot on Spotify's biggest Metalcore playlist New Core and later on also featured on the Top Of The Core playlist on the same platform. Being picked up by all major digital streaming platforms such as Apple Music, Amazon Music, Youtube Music and Deezer affirms the band as one of the most important their scene.

Dogma: Mysterious melodic metal cult of nuns sign to MNRK Heavy

'Father I Have Sinned' video featuring befouled priest streaming now

Mysterious melodic metal cult, Dogma, have joined the MNRK Heavy roster, and unveiled a blasphemously compelling new video for the track 'Father I Have Sinned.'

Watch the video to 'Father I Have Sinned' here: https://youtu.be/ya69LUa1E_w

Stream here: https://ffm.to/dogma_ihavesinned

Shrouded in mystery, draped in black cloaks and corpse paint, this dark force known as Dogma has risen. The four enigmatic nuns behind the hook-heavy, classic, power-inspired melodic metal use their music to propagate a powerfully anti-dogmatic idea of free thought.

Their debut single, 'Father I Have Sinned,' serves as the group’s official introduction to the world. The track’s stadium-ready riffs and anthemic choruses are in stark contrast to the group’s unearthly, gothic appearance. Is Dogma a cult? A sect? Whatever they may be, they are here to take over.

“We are united but free,” notes the collective. “We want to detach people from dogmas and useless norms, which only anchor the life of each one instead of giving freedom. We do not preach anarchism, we preach true liberation. Nuns follow a god. They live without enjoyment and claim to abstain from sexual encounters. We subvert the iconography of nuns because they represent the exact opposite of what we preach. They are not free. Like many characters in the human race, they deprive themselves of the richness of a full life.”

Dogma beckons like a mythological siren calling all travellers adrift on the seas of conformity. Dogma is whatever the forces of nature demand — four women united by melody, ideology, and chaos, sharpening hard rock and metal into weapons.

They possess an unapologetic reverence for human nature and independence. Dogma adopts the monikers of powerful feminine entities - Lilith, Lamia, Nixe, Abrahel – embraced by diverse, ancient cultures. They draw upon legend to refashion the empty modern world, against the cruel rule of superstition. Wielding creative passion, empowered sensuality, and freedom, Dogma stands in opposition to ignorance, institutions, dominion, and all suffocating limitations.

As a nun represents abstinence and repression, Dogma champions unbridled desire and freedom, with theatricality as timeless as Kiss or Alice Cooper, and music as timely as The Pretty Reckless or In This Moment, Dogma subverts all expectations with delicious vocal hooks, conceptually-driven storytelling, and hard-charging heavy metal/hard rock anthems armed with big riffs and rhythm.

For Dogma, true blasphemy is to deny one’s self. They take furious aim at religious hypocrites and oppressive systems, summoning a cult of like-minded iconoclasts with songs of joyous rebellion. Sexuality without compulsion, speaking out without fear: Dogma implores listeners to abandon the false reality of modern culture (with its deceitful posturing) and reclaim themselves. Dogma demands nothing less than your full attention.
