In Search Of Sun unveil new single/video 'Make Me Crazy'

London alt-rockers are back with their second huge single of 2022

London alt-rockers In Search Of Sun have unveiled new single / video 'Make Me Crazy', the band's second single release of 2022 and another huge anthem packed full of infectious hooks and raw emotion.

Once again directed by vocalist Adam Leader, watch the video here: https://youtu.be/jr4PzIdduTs

Stream here on Spotify

Adam comments on the single: "This song is about being stuck in a loop of self-doubt and paranoia. Often, what holds us back from being the best version of ourselves, is in fact our own restrictions, our mind and the daily personal battles within. We spend our time and energy on self-loathing and criticism, never feeling good enough to reach the heights that we only dream of reaching - it’s this self-inflicting toxicity that stops us from being the best possible version of ourselves that we so deserve."

'Make Me Crazy' follows the band's stunning returning single ‘The Fire I Play With'. Released in March, watch the video here: https://youtu.be/X7N3W3P8Jcs

Over the band’s career, In Search Of Sun have evolved and honed their songwriting skills to a point where irresistible hooks and infectious melodies became so second nature, they naturally fell into much more ‘pop’ territory. Previous album Virgin Funk Mother had already seen the band expand their range from a rock band into a more eclectic space,  but their stunning cover of ‘The Hills’ by the Weeknd was a huge indicator of the band’s pop destiny.

The impact of COVID - cancelled tours, ruined plans and financial strains - inspired In Search Of Sun to go for broke and follow their true calling and write whatever they want to write, with no concern with tailoring to scenes or markets. The result is a new energised sound that is so infectious and hook laden that the band are guaranteed to turn many heads in 2022. ‘Make Me Crazy’ is the second of a series of singles the band will release across the year, with a new record planned for 2023.

On the band’s evolution Adam continues: “We spent the best part of a decade with this idea that it would be wrong or too risky to branch out musically into genres leaning towards the pop end of the spectrum - even though we’ve always dabbled in it here and there, we never fully embraced it.
These songs we have coming out over the year are the result of us finally finding our feet through personal hardships and a world stopping pandemic.

"We have gained a collective clarity, picking up where we left off with the single 'Rhythm' back in 2020 - we have new music that we feel really pushes the poppier elements to the forefront of our sound and it’s a natural progression to us as a band - something we’ve always wanted to do but we were forever at a crossroads with the idea due to our own fears.

"The pandemic forced us to take stock and deal with some deeper questions and our musical direction was a big part of that whole process; in a way, the songs gave us the confidence to take ownership of being labelled a pop-metal band which has been subtly hinted at in the past. We can now wear that badge with pride.“

More information on In Search Of Sun:

In Search Of Sun are a five piece Alternative Rock band hailing from London. Since the band’s inception, the quintet have been crafting a fine-tuned and energetic live show. Following a high octane set at Hammerfest 2013 in North Wales, they have played sold out shows at The Borderline, Camden Barfly and Relentless Garage in London, and have shared the stage with countless awesome bands throughout the UK, including long established acts such as Twelve Foot Ninja, Bullet For My Valentine, Funeral For a Friend and US rockers Pop Evil. They concluded 2015 by supporting Billboard chart toppers Nothing More across the UK.

Following the release of their debut album The World Is Yours in 2014, In Search Of Sun were recently included in VH1's "15 Metal bands you should be listening to in 2015", and album singles 'Draw The Line' and 'The World Is Yours' have earned their place on the Kerrang Radio and Scuzz TV playlists.

The band released their critically acclaimed second album Virgin Funk Mother, in 2017 through Spinefarm Records which was mixed by Nolly Getgood from Periphery. The single ‘Elevation’ received UK and US support from Kerrang, Revolver magazine and the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show, and the video has amassed over 1.1 million views across their social media platforms.

In Search Of Sun made their major festival debut in 2016 when they appeared at the UK’s legendary Download event, getting a great turn-out and response. Touring and gigging with the likes of Twelve Foot Ninja and Nothing More has helped to garner massive praise for both their energetic live performance and their dynamic sound, which refuses to play the genre game and can best be described as a “breath of fresh air”.

2022 sees the band return with a new and refined sound and big plans ahead, more news soon.

Swedish symphonic metallers Tungsten release video for new single 'On the Sea'

Bliss LP due for release 17th June via Arising Empire

Swedish symphonic metal quartet Tungsten have revealed a video for 'On the Sea', the new single from their third album Bliss, due for release 17th June via Arising Empire.

Check out the video for 'On the Sea': https://youtu.be/8Uq8ihiOhas

'On the Sea' bears a strong sing-a-long chorus, as vocalist Mike Andersson explains: "I found it almost impossible to get rid of this song. It’s been playing over and over in my head for many sleepless nights. To me, this is a good sign of a good song. The melody and the lyrics have a bit of a sad undertone, as it's about reaching for your dreams about joy and happiness."

Pre-order Bliss here: https://tungsten.lnk.to/bliss

The quartet's third offering is their heaviest and darkest album to date, with the typical ingredients that define Tungsten's music also breaking new ground and exploring fresh territories. The hooklines are stronger and more dynamic, with lyrics taking a darker turn whilst still focusing on relatable themes.

Andersson goes on to expand: "It all came naturally. Creating and recording this album truly put us in touch with the feeling of bliss. Nick and Karl, who wrote the music, have really shown their skills and musical talents. Bliss explores new musical ideas but is still based in the genre that we established in the band from the beginning."

Bliss was recorded at Harm Studios, Trelleborg (Sweden). Nick Johansson once again took care of the mixing, mastering and production duties with the albums artwork taken care of by Andreas Marschall.

Bassist Karl Johansson states: "We really hope that Bliss will reach an even broader fanbase than before. So much pain, sweat and love has been put into this album so we're truly excited to introduce Bliss to the world".

Anders Johansson agrees; "This album might be one of the hardest ones I've had to record. Nick is close to a perfectionist at the production helm, so if I can find something that has been good about the pandemic it might be the fact I could spend many more hours in the drum studio just to practise and develop my technique".

Tungsten reemerge onto the live scene in 2022 and are already confirmed for Sabaton Open Air in August.

Tungsten were formed in 2016 when drummer Anders Johansson (Hammerfall, Yngwie J. Malmsteen’s Rising Force, Manowar) asked his sons Nick Johansson (guitars) and Karl Johansson (bass) if they were interested in starting a brand new band with him.

Tungsten's music has become synonymous with melodies, industrial power metal, and hints of Northern Folk music. Tungsten's first album, We Will Rise, was released in September 2019 with the track 'The Fairies Dance' close to passing 3 million streams on Spotify alone.

A year later, in November 2020, Tungsten released their second album, called Tundra. The song 'King of Shadows' was chosen as the first single, and has since gone on to become an anthem for Tungsten when performing live on stage.

LostAlone release new single 'Punchline Punched Back'

New album confirmed for later this year

Band supporting My Chemical Romance on upcoming reunion shows

Hyper-melodic, epic rock trio LostAlone have released their new single 'Punchline Punched Back', out now via Dharma Records. The band have also confirmed a new album is on the way later this year.

Check out 'Punchline Punched Back' here: https://youtu.be/KZXVH7dauGY

'Punchline Punched Back' was recorded during the first COVID-19 lockdown, while vocalist Steven Battelle was shielding in isolation. The band virtually teamed up with producer Greg Wells (Deftones/Twenty One Pilots/The Greatest Showman/In The Heights/Adele), who they had worked with previously, to mix the single.

Battelle explains: "I was dealing with some major toxicity and this song was a way of exorcising myself from it. Feeling like I was recusing myself from life and spending too much time in fantasy - hence the reference to Rekall, the virtual vacation centre in Total Recall (the Arnie version)."

'Punchline Punched Back' follows LostAlone's comeback single, 'The Last Drop Of Forever', which marked the band's first new music since their 2014 album Shapes of Screams

Check out 'The Last Drop Of Forever' here: https://ffm.to/lastdropofforever

The trio surprised fans with their return in March - eight years since they originally split. They announced their comeback alongside news of supporting My Chemical Romance at three shows in May.

On supporting My Chemical RomanceBattelle says: "We’ve always had such a kinship between our bands, so I was over the moon when they asked us to join them for some of these huge shows. My Chemical Romance fans are some of the most passionate and welcoming audiences I’ve ever played to, so I’m excited to meet them again."

Battelle comments on the band's return: "The three of us are buzzing to be back making music again together. I didn’t realise until recently that a part of me had been lying dormant these last few years, but now - without wanting to pre-empt the future - I feel like I’ve that part of me back for good."

LostAlone will play a sold-out hometown headline show tonight (13th May) in Derby, which precedes their shows with My Chemical Romance

'Alone' out now via Arising Empire

Post-hardcore/metalcore quartet Awake The Dreamer return with their brand new single 'Alone', out now via Arising Empire. Starting a new chapter, 'Alone' is a stellar comeback from one of the most promising bands in Sweden.

Guitarist Alexander Backman comments:

"We've been taking time off to really focus on merging the new sound of our band, as well as keeping the parts that will always be what Awake The Dreamer is all about. We are super excited to present 'Alone' as the first release in the new era of the band."

Formed through childhood and high school friendships in 2015, Stockholm-based quartet Awake The Dreamer released their Grow EP the following year, leading to tours in Europe and Asia alongside bands including Ice Nine Kills, Northlane, Adept and Crystal Lake.

In 2019, Awake The Dreamer released their debut album Damaged Souls via Arising Empire. The 10-track release featured guest appearances from Adept's Robert Ljung ('Vigilant') and Crystal Lake's Ryo Kinoshita in ('Atmosphere').

Bassist/vocalist Benjamin Turesson adds:

"Being a small band that didn't even have an album out by the time we had toured Europe and Asia finally caught up to us, then the pandemic hit. Like that wasn't enough, unfortunately we had former members leave the band, so it became natural for us to just start from scratch in order to redevelop a new sound. A sound which we are really happy and proud of. It feels great to start releasing music again and we are really excited to be back."

Indie-rock band All Get Out release new single 'AA Almanac'

New album Kodak out 3rd June 2022 via Rude Records/Equal Vision Records

Indie-rock quartet All Get Out have released their new single 'AA Almanac'. The track is another glimpse into the band's upcoming album Kodak, due for release on 3rd June 2022 via Rude Records (UK/EU) / Equal Vision Records (ROW). A blistering journey that finds All Get Out at home in their loud, raucous sound, 'AA Almanac' continues to explore the album’s themes of small town life, while integrating Southern rock aesthetics.

Check out 'AA Almanac' here: https://youtu.be/Dki4dTkJtsE

Stream/purchase 'AA Almanac' here: https://allgetout.lnk.to/AAalmanac

All Get Out's first full-length offering since 2018's No Bouquet, Kodak is an album centred around the concept of small town living in America and how they — along with its people who stay behind — continue to remain frozen in time.

As much as you can try, you can never fully run away from who you are, because it'll always be part of who you are. It's in your soul, your heart, your essence. That sense of resigned futility is something that All Get Out have captured on their touching new album, Kodak.

Formed in Charleston, SC in 2007, frontman Nathan Hussey is the only original member left in the band, joined by guitarist Kyle Samuel, drummer Dominic Nastasi and bassist James Gibson. And while Hussey and Nastasi really fleshed out the demos between them before recording the bulk of the songs in May 2021, a conscious decision was made this time around to also incorporate the same kind of approach Hussey had taken with the two solo albums he’s released.

“We wanted to make a record where I got my voice, as the writer, heard first – and then we tacked on everything else,” Hussey says. “It’s means this is more of a songwritery record, and that’s on purpose.” It’s a method that suits the introspective nature of the record perfectly.

Having uprooted from South Carolina to Texas, Hussey recently found himself moving back to his home state. He says that’s not the reason why the theme of the record is centred around the idea of small American towns like Sumter – and everything good and bad that they represent – but they’re nevertheless infused with his experiences and memories of them.

“A lot of the record came out to be about growing up in small towns that don’t move,” explains Hussey. “There are these little American towns that just haven’t evolved, and that’s on purpose — the way Bubba still has a Confederate flag on his pickup truck, or how friends and members of my family have perpetuated the small town thing of having kids at 18 and doing drugs. It’s just this cycle that keeps happening.”

Throughout the course of these 10 tracks, Hussey immerses himself in the history of his home state, and in a weird, ironic way, it’s here – back at the start but while trying to get away from it – that he found both himself and the closest manifestation of what he’s always wanted All Get Out to be. As such, it’s fitting that, with final song 'Know Your Tell', Kodak ends where it began — in a car, with nothing answered and nowhere to go but both forward and back at the same time. And just like a photograph, it’s a physical snapshot of the past that also exists now, in the moment.

“This album is either who I am or where I came from or a combination of both,” says Hussey. “I’m very slow to evolve, and that’s part of the record as well. Not to get too meta, but it takes me a long time in life to get there sometimes. I don’t know if I manage to reconcile my past with my present, but it’s definitely been brought to attention – and that’s what was so important about this record.”

All Get Out will embark on a US tour supporting Motion City Soundtrack in June and July - dates can be found below.

Deathbringer release new single 'A Place To Exist'

'A Place to Exist' video streaming now

IT album due for release 15th July via Unique Leader Records

Progressive death metal pioneers Deathbringer have unveiled their latest single 'A Place To Exist', taken from their upcoming album IT, due for release on 15th July via Unique Leader Records.

Watch the music video to 'A Place To Exist' here: https://youtu.be/eD8CssjohXY

On the new track, guitarist and songwriter Artyom Serdyuk states: "We are very excited to present our next single to you, 'A Place To Exist'. The main character of the song is a misanthrope who is disappointed in life, faith and everything that surrounds him. He is witnessing the devourment of our reality by a certain dark entity which in his eyes becomes his redeemer and gives him a new hope. He welcomes this abyss becoming a preacher of the new life which he believes is going to come after the destruction of our world.

"Musically this track is a transition between our debut album and our new creation, melodiousness and brutality merge together; there is enough technicality, time signatures and tempo changes, growls and scream vocals. Outro solo is performed by one of our special guests on the album –
Mariusz “Thrufel” Domaradzki (Masachist, ex-Yattering, ex-Azarath)."

On the video, Artyom continues: Just like with our previous single 'Inevitability' the video for this one was directed by iconic studio Grupa 13 from Poland, which is known for their work with Behemoth, Kreator, Arch Enemy, Decapitated, Dark Funeral, Samael and many others. The band footage was filmed by Marcin Halerz GFX, who worked with Decapitated, Hate, Kampfar, Nordjevel, etc. This is a continuation of the story you’ve seen in 'Inevitability' video, both clips have a common concept which in its own individual way portrays the darkness, hopelessness and desperation depicted in our forthcoming album IT."

This follows previous single 'Inevitability (IT's Whip)', watch the video here: https://youtu.be/7ldYnx_RedE

Formed in 2002 by guitarist Artyom Serdyuk, Deathbringer have toured across the globe sharing stages with Behemoth, Hate, Parricide, Dead Infection, and many more. Their debut album, Homo Divisis, came in 2007 and subsequently saw the band embark on their first European headline tour the following year to rave reviews.

IT emerges as the band's sophomore record which initially began in 2013, but due to health issues, personal lives, and a global pandemic, had to be postponed. Now, with guest appearances from Bobby Koelble (Death), Tommy Talamanca (Sadist), and Mariusz Domaradzki (Masachist, Yattering, Azarath), IT will finally see the light of day.

French hardcore quartet The Amsterdam Red Light District (TARLD) stream new single 'Threatened Generation'

Trapped LP to be released 20th May

Highly-rated French melodic hardcore quartet, The Amsterdam Red Light District (TARLD), have revealed their brand new single 'Threatened Generation'. The opening track is taken from their upcoming full-length release, Trapped, and will be released 20th May.

Watch the music video for 'Threatened Generation' here: https://youtu.be/C0jLaY7T9kQ

Guitarist Maxime Comby explains:

"'Threatened Generation' is a catchy and powerful track that highlights how we are all part of a threatened generation. It's time to move the lines and become aware of the things that bring chaos to our lives; industry stakeholders, crooked governments, media misinformation. We are threatened, but we (the people) are not fooled: you cannot teach what you never learned!"

On the new single, which also includes Yukina from Japanese metal band HANABIE on guest vocals, the band comment:

"This song is written from a kid's point of view growing up in today's society. He sees and knows that he will evolve in a difficult world, and feels threatened and wants to find solutions. We're facing more and more difficulties moving forward together on this planet, and our actions have terrible consequences for future generations."

'Threatened Generation' follows TARLD's searing previous singles 'Trapped', 'Happy Ending' and 'Good Intentions', featuring Drew York from Stray From The Path. View here: https://youtu.be/hfPHU6ABfCU

A bastion of righteous anger in their home country, TARLD are widely-regarded following the release of the debut Gone For a While and their second LP Sapere Aude. Hailing from Lyon, the band are first and foremost a live band; a frenzied tour-de-force of melodic energy. Influenced by bands such as Refused, Fever 333, Raised Fist and their collaborators in Stray From The Path, TARLD have shared the stage with many big names in the punk scene, touring Europe and Japan and performing at Hellfest, Jera on Air, Resurrection Festival, Groezrock and many more.

Primarily inspired by Enlightenment values, TARLD's music advocates liberty, progress, tolerance and fraternity. The band now return with their thumping new record Trapped, which features Drew York, Yukina from Japanese metalcore band Hanabie, and Mat Bastard from acclaimed French rock band Skip the Use.

Signs of the Swarm unveil remix version of 'Dreaming Desecration'

Absolvere album out now via Unique Leader

US modern deathcore heavyweights Signs of the Swarm have unveiled a remix version of their track 'Dreaming Desecration', taken from their new album Absolvere, out now via Unique Leader.

The video for the track, mixed by Federico Ascari, can be watched here: https://youtu.be/CBuYRf5xryk
[Viewer discretion is advised; contains references to drug addiction, substance abuse, and domestic violence.]

Commenting on the new single, the band state:
“Inspired by artists Deftones and Northlane, we are proud to present Federico Ascari’s remix of 'Dreaming Desecration' featuring our long time friend Meredith Henderson of VCTMS!

With this release, we would like to acknowledge that this will be our last release with
Unique Leader Records. After six beautiful years together, we thank you for treating us as if we were family. We will treasure our experiences and friendships through the rest of our lives. We wish the best as we push forward.

To every end, there is a new beginning.
Stay tuned!”

Get Absolvere here: https://orcd.co/absolvere

This follows previous singles 'Hymns Ov Invocation', 'Death Whistle' and 'Hollow Prison' featuring Alex Erian of Despised Icon.

On fourth LP Absolvere, Signs of the Swarm are bleak without being blackened, smashing without being slam, and downtempo as a choice rather than a stylistic confine. They contrast that with some of the most brutal moments in their seven-year career, with riffs more punishing than pensive and a rhythm section that frames them in creatively cacophonic ways. Above it all, they’re utilising vocalist David Simonich's monstrous range in a much fuller capacity than on his debut, 2019’s Vital Deprivation. That transitional album found the band experimenting to re-find their footing. Though the addition of guitarist Jeff Russo could suggest growing pains, they sound more confident than ever with Simonich’s former Improvidence bandmate sliding right in.

Simonich roars about the real (loved ones struggling with addiction, submitting one’s self wholly to art despite negativity swirling about) and the surreal; he or his characters beg for the release of death only to be denied. The album's finishing touch is Ben Duerr (Shadow of Intent) and Alex Erian (Despised Icon) joining the band for guest vocals.

On the album, Bobby Crow continues: Absolvere makes good on the musicality we were striving for on Vital Deprivation and combines it with the eerie atmosphere and brutality on our first two albums. We added a myriad of new sounds, techniques and vocal styles as we collectively composed each song from the ground-up.”

Proven as a major force on the stage, Signs of the Swarm have toured with the likes of Aborted, Lorna Shore, Shadow of Intent, Brand of Sacrifice, Ingested, Disentomb, Traitors and more. US and European tours soon to be announced, more news soon.
