Los Angeles, California's Nekrogoblikon are melodic hard rock pranksters who deploy gnarly death metal earworms filled with crafty hooks, claw-pumping choruses, lightning-fast riffs, and over the top, EDM-style keyboard flourishes. With their ostentatious goblin hypeman John Goblikon, the band takes cues from hyperbolic horror-metal enthusiasts like GWAR, Finntroll, and Dethklok, while maintaining an affable, self-referential sense of humour. The group's early outings, like 2007's Goblin Island, were largely low-fidelity affairs, but by the early 2010s, Nekrogoblikon were operating at a far higher technical level, and employing a rotating cast of talented players.

Founded in 2006, Nekrogoblikon self-produced their debut album, the relatively lo-fi Goblin Island, in a basement. The LP was released in 2007, and an expanded line-up was quickly assembled to help flesh out the fledgling group's audacious live shows. The more technically proficient Stench arrived in 2011, and included the single 'No One Survives' — the video written and directed by Brandon Dermer (Panic At The Disco, Every Time I Die, Diplo, Dillon Francis) became a viral hit, and landed the band festival slots at Download Festival in the UK and Rock Im Park/Rock Am Ring in Germany. The Power EP was issued the following year, and in 2014 the band joined Limp Bizkit on the Kerrang! Tour. In 2015 they released the concept LP Heavy Meta via their own Mystery Box label, and in 2018, Nekrogoblikon issued their fourth studio long-player, Welcome to Bonkers, which was followed by extensive touring including performing on the entirety of the final cross-country Vans Warped Tour and Summer Slaughter. In between touring stints, the band (along with Brandon Dermer and writer/actor Dave Rispoli) released three seasons of RIGHT NOW, a comedic talk show starring band mascot John Goblikon. The series features a wide array of high profile guests including comedian Bobby Lee, The Used, Keith Buckley from Every Time I Die, Wes Borland from Limp Bizkit, and Joe Trohman from Fallout Boy.

JINJER unveil drum playthrough for 'Copycat'

New album Wallflowers out now via Napalm Records

Jinjer drummer Vlad Ulasevich has released a brand new drum playthrough for the track 'Copycat'. The song is taken from Jinjer's latest and most successful album yet, Wallflowers (2021 Napalm Records), which hit the top of the charts all around the globe upon release and was met with stellar critical acclaim.

Watch the drum play-through of 'Copycat' here: https://youtu.be/YFwvnRtrmj0

The 'Copycat' playthrough video was directed by Kadim Tarasov of Mriya Productions and filmed at the LED cave “One” location in Kyiv. It marks the first in a three part drum playthrough series to be released. Originally planned to be unveiled in late February, the band and label decided to delay the video release due to the unexpected breakout of war in the band’s home country on 24th February 2022.

After wading through nearly two years of the pandemic, Jinjer released their most in-demand studio album, Wallflowers, in the summer of 2021. In addition to several other top spots, the band landed at #7 on the German charts, #5 on the official UK Rock & Metal album charts, #1 on both the US Billboard Top New Artist Album charts and Canadian Hard Music album charts, and #2 on the US Hard Music album charts.

The Ukrainian four-piece played a short but successful European summer festival and club tour, and ended 2021 with a sold-out North American tour, making them one of the few bands that managed to grow organically during such tough times.

Purchase Wallflowers here: https://smarturl.it/Wallflowers-NPR

Although they were forced to cancel a North American tour with Slipknot as well as a Latin American headline tour due to the war in Ukraine, Jinjer called upon their fans to help raise funds for their countrymen and women by releasing two special donation T-Shirt designs that can be bought here: https://linktr.ee/JinjerOfficialMERCH

Jinjer are slated to play festivals throughout Europe this summer and hope to not only once again spread their music to as many people as possible but to also act as ambassadors of Ukraine to make sure that the situation back home is not forgotten.

Swedish tech-death masters Soreption share intense new single/video 'The Artificial North'

Jord due 10th June via Unique Leader

Swedish titans of technical death metal, Soreption, have shared their intense new single and video 'The Artificial North'. The second track to be taken from forthcoming album Jord is set for release on 10th June via Unique Leader Records.

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/0CS_TDabluo
Pre-order Jord here: https://orcd.co/soreptionjord

The video, which was directed, filmed and edited by Anton Alfredsson with video footage of Ian Waye filmed by Renee Robyn, premiered at the official Unique Leader Youtube channel.

On the new single, vocalist Fredrik Söderberg explains: "The concept of the song, in short, is about the extremes we go to for survival. How we slowly but surely become more digital than organic. At the end of it all, we become what we feared from the start. In the video we follow a man trapped in this rapidly evolving artificial north."

A triumph of a record, Jord sees Soreption at their most streamlined and potent, demonstrating so viscerally why they previously drew rave reviews globally with Engineering the Void (2014) and Monument of the End (2018).

The band comments: “Our main focus, as it has been in every album since the beginning, is to write death metal with a blend of technicality and groove. The goal is to raise those two elements’ more and more for every release. Finding that balance keeping the music interesting is important aspects when we write.”

Jord is an album of the highest skill by masters of their craft. Thirty minutes of brutal riffing and inspired songwriting goes by in a flash as Soreption stake their claim at the head of the modern tech-death wave. Never a band to shy away from a groove, the record continues the aggression-and-melody mix that has become the Swedish band’s calling card.

When establishing the concept of Jord the band focused on the concept of fragments of reality after the end of the world by way of an apocalypse. Jord is also the first album in Soreption’s repertoire where the lyrics are directed more towards fiction, whereas previously the band have commented on current or near-future world affairs.

Jord is mixed and mastered by Buster Odeholm (Born Of Osiris, Humanity's Last Breath, Vildhjarta, Hacktivist) at Odenholm Audio and featuring artwork by Caelan Stokkerman who handled artistic duties on their previous releases. Synths and Effects were arranged by James Carey with Drums and Vocals Recorded by Roger Bergsten at Nevo Studios.

Jord also features guest guitar solos from Ian Waye (Thanopraxia), Stefan Nordlander (ex-Soreption Live), Johan Andersson (Dråp), John Matos (Abiotic), Malcom Pugh (Inferi), Joe Haley (Psycroptic), Gottfrid Norberg Waxin (Independant), Dean Lamb & Tobi Morelli (Archspire).

Formed in 2005 in Sundsvall, Sweden, technical metal masters Soreption are known for their razor-sharp technical riffs, schizophrenic time signatures topped with catchy chugging grooves and intense vocals. From this they have created their signature sound, not yet replicated by any other modern band, and with a strong following to back.

The band’s debut full-length Deterioration Of Minds brought major attention to the band as a formidable force in the genre. Deterioration Of Minds was released by Ninetone Records in 2010 and was re-released by Unique Leader Records in 2014; their punishing follow-up album Engineering the Void was released February 2014 (also on Unique Leader Records) to critical acclaim worldwide.

Soreption only grew from there – 2015 saw them tour with Cryptopsy, Origin, and Cannibal Corpse. Following their touring success the band signed with Sumerian Records and in 2018 released their mighty Monument of the End LP.

With the world shuttered from a worldwide pandemic, Soreption took their chance to refocus their tech machine and create an album that is the natural continuation of Monument of the End.

On the new single, the band explain: "'Kingdom' is a good taste of the artistic direction Glassbone is taking. A hectic but also heavy song that mashes up all of our influences, going from melodic choruses to tortured verses."

'Kingdom' serves as a great taster of the EP and introduction to this menacingly violent band, who have mastered a metallic mix of hardcore conviction, deathcore brutality and nu-metal quirkiness with an industrial sheen. Having only just formed in 2021, Glassbone instantly gained attention from fans and industry alike and have quickly become of this year's hottest underground prospects.

Glassbone are currently on a UK/EU tour supporting French heavyweights Landmvrks, Resolve and fellow newcomers ten56.. The package hits the UK in May, dates below.

The band comment on the tour: "We’re very pleased to join what is, for us, one of the most exciting European metalcore tours. We love how all the bands execute a different vision of the genre, and we’re so happy to be part of this great line up for our first tour!"

UK dates (full tour dates in poster below):

24.05.2022 - Manchester, Rebellion

The band will also appear at Hellfest Open Air 2022.

Glassbone formed in Paris early 2021 with the objective to create cold, dark metalcore. The band made a huge entrance with debut single 'Deep Blue Sea' and turned even more heads with follow-up track 'Misery'. Glassbone promise to solidify their future further with stunning new EP Spirals.

Death metal legends Jungle Rot release ritualistic new video 'Genocidal Imperium'

New album A Call to Arms out now via Unique Leader

Death metal legends Jungle Rot have shared a ritualistic new video for 'Genocidal Imperium', the third single to be taken from their new album A Call to Arms, which is out now via Unique Leader

Watch the 'Genocidal Imperium' video here: https://youtu.be/tXdP39Lo-Vo

Stream and order A Call To Arms here: http://orcd.co/acalltoarms

For a band who’ve existed now for over 25 years, Jungle Rot are still hitting their prime with their savage new album.

Once again co-produced by Chris Djuricic and the band, A Call to Arms was mixed and mastered by Dan Swanö. It’s the band’s newest record since their acclaimed self-titled 2018 release, praised by Loudwire, Decibel, Revolver, Metal Hammer and a host of celebrated publications.

Forever looking to push death metal groove with attitude, Jungle Rot are highly regarded globally. Jaded death metal purists looking for fresh kills need to add the band to their must-listen list – not just A Call to Arms but the band’s impressive and extensive back catalogue, including their 2013 reissue of their classic 1995 Skin The Living.

Shots firing overhead, out of breath, thankful to be alive, an exhausted, courageous soldier takes cover in a nearby trench. Overcome with tragedy, the cadet looks down to carefully remove his worn down combat boots to discover his feet numb and blue, knocking him back with an overwhelming smell of decay and gangrene. This phenomenon is known as “jungle rot”. With a little imagination, visualise this horrifyingly grotesque predicament as it would be in heavy metal form - teeming with despair, brutality, darkness and volatility.  The sinister picture you have just painted comes to life in four-piece death metal act Jungle Rot, who has been triumphantly destroying the metal scene since 1994.

Hailing from Kenosha, Wisconsin, Jungle Rot has steadily collected fans by the thousands since their 1995 demo release Skin The Living. Critics, blown away by their chillingly explosive live shows, rewarded the band with stellar reviews and were offered their first record deal with Pulverized Records. Through new representation, the men released their first full-length project, Slaughter The Weak (1998) and were greeted by a tremendous amount of support from both the metal community and critics everywhere. Responding to a flood of new fans, the band rearranged their line-up, adapted their sound, produced new material, and began to dominate the Midwest tour circuit.

The following decade saw the band sign with Olympic Records in 2001, releasing Dead and Buried, and then in 2009 signing with Napalm Records, and their What Horrors Await LP.

The band have toured relentlessly across the world, including with Deicide, EntombedVaderCattle Decapitation and many more. Inspired and motivated by their fans’ continued support, Jungle Rot went on to release the 2011 Kill on Command and eighth studio album Terror Regime (2013).

Now signed to the mighty Unique Leader, the veterans make no sign of wavering or slowing down with the legendary brand of old-school thrash, death, and crossover crust punk.

Post-hardcore outfit New Habits release new single 'Poor Old Me' featuring Charlie Rolfe (As Everything Unfolds)

Inspiring new post-hardcore troupe New Habits have revealed their single 'Poor Old Me', featuring Charlie Rolfe of As Everything Unfolds.

Watch 'Poor Old Me' here: https://youtu.be/NbQXGPweebY

Stream: https://linktr.ee/newhabitsband

'Poor Old Me' is a song about self-destruction, another introspective look at the state of the human condition.

Combining elements of Bring Me The Horizon, Currents, Spiritbox and Underoath, New Habits are already being marked as a new band to watch through the quality of their songwriting and the immediacy of their approach.

Starting in 2020, everything New Habits have created focuses on this attitude - taking negative viewpoints and turning them positive; moving from problem-oriented lyrics to solution-oriented lyrics.

New Habits are fully DIY, managed and self-produced at will, featuring members of Chelsea Grin and I Am Haunted. Their collective life experiences make New Habits an important, real, new voice - experiences that echo throughout the band's music.

Members of New Habits have variously dealt with depressive episodes, existential crisis, drug dependence, anxiety, family bereavement and relapse - all events that could easily lead to nihilism and cynicism. Instead, the band focuses on overturning and overcoming these moments - an attitude that will surely resonate with those looking for hope in their hurt.

Their new single ‘Poor Old Me' (featuring Charlie Rolfe of As Everything Unfolds) is a powerful perspective on someone caught in the vicious cycle of self-sabotage. Blending together the band’s gritty instrumentals, Charlie and Aaron’s raucous screams, and intensely nuanced melodies from both Charlie and Zach, the song also leverages very raw and real lyricism to create a beautifully tragic piece of music. Listeners who have experienced self-sabotage personally or within others will surely find something strong to connect with throughout this single.

Lake Malice push the boundaries of alternative metal with new single 'Magic Square'

'Magic Square' out now alongside horror movie inspired music video

Fresh off a tour supporting Hacktivist, and having played with some of the UK’s best new heavy talent, including Death Blooms and InVisions, Brighton duo Lake Malice are primed to make their own indelible mark on the scene with their thunderous, soundclashing new single ‘Magic Square’.

The gut-punching track is out today with an accompanying horror movie inspired music video, starring vocalist Alice Guala in a bloody lead role. Guitarist Blake Cornwall (the other half of Lake Malice) brings the crucially original, invigorating riffs.

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/LsVY-Q7GVZ8

Stream/purchase 'Magic Square' here: https://lnk.to/LM-MagicSquare

Alice says of the new track: “The lyrics are a dark, yet ironic, take on the rise of true crime documentaries that unfurled during the pandemic, and the intricate duality of human nature in feeling entertained and horrified at the same time.”

‘Magic Square’ was recorded with Bruce Rintoul (Twin Atlantic, Vukovi) earlier this year and explores Lake Malice's ongoing fascination with the idea of mixing nu-metal, hip hop, electronic and dream-pop elements, inspired by artists such as System Of A Down, Grimes, and Enter Shikari. Lake Malice are ready to drag alternative metal, moshing and screaming, to the next step of its evolution.

In Search Of Sun unveil new single/video 'Make Me Crazy'

London alt-rockers are back with their second huge single of 2022

London alt-rockers In Search Of Sun have unveiled new single / video 'Make Me Crazy', the band's second single release of 2022 and another huge anthem packed full of infectious hooks and raw emotion.

Once again directed by vocalist Adam Leader, watch the video here: https://youtu.be/jr4PzIdduTs

Stream here on Spotify

Adam comments on the single: "This song is about being stuck in a loop of self-doubt and paranoia. Often, what holds us back from being the best version of ourselves, is in fact our own restrictions, our mind and the daily personal battles within. We spend our time and energy on self-loathing and criticism, never feeling good enough to reach the heights that we only dream of reaching - it’s this self-inflicting toxicity that stops us from being the best possible version of ourselves that we so deserve."

'Make Me Crazy' follows the band's stunning returning single ‘The Fire I Play With'. Released in March, watch the video here: https://youtu.be/X7N3W3P8Jcs

Over the band’s career, In Search Of Sun have evolved and honed their songwriting skills to a point where irresistible hooks and infectious melodies became so second nature, they naturally fell into much more ‘pop’ territory. Previous album Virgin Funk Mother had already seen the band expand their range from a rock band into a more eclectic space,  but their stunning cover of ‘The Hills’ by the Weeknd was a huge indicator of the band’s pop destiny.

The impact of COVID - cancelled tours, ruined plans and financial strains - inspired In Search Of Sun to go for broke and follow their true calling and write whatever they want to write, with no concern with tailoring to scenes or markets. The result is a new energised sound that is so infectious and hook laden that the band are guaranteed to turn many heads in 2022. ‘Make Me Crazy’ is the second of a series of singles the band will release across the year, with a new record planned for 2023.

On the band’s evolution Adam continues: “We spent the best part of a decade with this idea that it would be wrong or too risky to branch out musically into genres leaning towards the pop end of the spectrum - even though we’ve always dabbled in it here and there, we never fully embraced it.
These songs we have coming out over the year are the result of us finally finding our feet through personal hardships and a world stopping pandemic.

"We have gained a collective clarity, picking up where we left off with the single 'Rhythm' back in 2020 - we have new music that we feel really pushes the poppier elements to the forefront of our sound and it’s a natural progression to us as a band - something we’ve always wanted to do but we were forever at a crossroads with the idea due to our own fears.

"The pandemic forced us to take stock and deal with some deeper questions and our musical direction was a big part of that whole process; in a way, the songs gave us the confidence to take ownership of being labelled a pop-metal band which has been subtly hinted at in the past. We can now wear that badge with pride.“

More information on In Search Of Sun:

In Search Of Sun are a five piece Alternative Rock band hailing from London. Since the band’s inception, the quintet have been crafting a fine-tuned and energetic live show. Following a high octane set at Hammerfest 2013 in North Wales, they have played sold out shows at The Borderline, Camden Barfly and Relentless Garage in London, and have shared the stage with countless awesome bands throughout the UK, including long established acts such as Twelve Foot Ninja, Bullet For My Valentine, Funeral For a Friend and US rockers Pop Evil. They concluded 2015 by supporting Billboard chart toppers Nothing More across the UK.

Following the release of their debut album The World Is Yours in 2014, In Search Of Sun were recently included in VH1's "15 Metal bands you should be listening to in 2015", and album singles 'Draw The Line' and 'The World Is Yours' have earned their place on the Kerrang Radio and Scuzz TV playlists.

The band released their critically acclaimed second album Virgin Funk Mother, in 2017 through Spinefarm Records which was mixed by Nolly Getgood from Periphery. The single ‘Elevation’ received UK and US support from Kerrang, Revolver magazine and the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show, and the video has amassed over 1.1 million views across their social media platforms.

In Search Of Sun made their major festival debut in 2016 when they appeared at the UK’s legendary Download event, getting a great turn-out and response. Touring and gigging with the likes of Twelve Foot Ninja and Nothing More has helped to garner massive praise for both their energetic live performance and their dynamic sound, which refuses to play the genre game and can best be described as a “breath of fresh air”.

2022 sees the band return with a new and refined sound and big plans ahead, more news soon.
