The Fever Kings
' debut single 'Drown', released 7th April,  served as an introduction for this brand new band to the UK alternative rock scene. The track has most notably received support from Primordial Radio, Total Rock Radio and The Moshville Times so far.

On 'Resist', the band comment: "This song is about mental health. It's about struggling to control your own thoughts and constantly trying to run away from them, despite never being able to escape as they're inside your head. The only way you can escape is by following your heart and pushing for what you truly desire, to create your own happiness despite the world around you creating as much friction as possible in order to stop you."

Hailing from the North East of England, alternative rock four-piece The Fever Kings were born out of the brutal COVID lockdowns, and the burning desire that Jack, Chris, Alex and Thomas felt to get back to music after long months of social hibernation. Since January 2022, the band have been writing music to serve the soul, carrying influences from Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro, Jimmy Eat World and Lifehouse through their tasteful sense of melody, and their incredibly dynamic energy.

With just a handful of shows under their belt, the quartet have seen a phenomenal response to their music. After selling out their debut live performance, The Fever Kings have truly created a buzz around the North East. 2023 will see the band releasing their first singles and touring the UK in support.

Finnish extreme metal quartet Assemble The Chariots share new single 'Galactic Order'

Finland’s Assemble The Chariots return with their brand new single 'Galactic Order', via Seek & Strike. Picking up right where their last release 'Empress' left off, the new extreme metal epic sees the band innovatively pushing the boundaries of the genre. Assemble The Chariots are currently working on a full-length album; 'Galactic Order' is the first taste of things to come from the Finnish quartet.

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/vFoC7Nlf9b8

Stream the song here: https://linktr.ee/assemblethechariots

Guitarist Kevin Apostol comments: "The creation of ‘Galactic Order' was based on my writing for the concept of our upcoming full-length album. The main goal was to support the concept and create the appropriate phase and tonality for the song. This approach could be best compared to composing a film score. With its hard hitting modern production, cinematic atmosphere and high intensity composition, ‘Galactic Order’ is probably the most intense song we’ve ever released."

On the breathtaking music video, he states: “The video needed to be as high quality and grandiose as the musical production, which Riivata Visuals delivered. Every track on this upcoming album challenges musical boundaries and we’re pushing ourselves to the limit to create something extraordinary!"

Assemble the Chariots are an extreme metal band from southern Finland formed in 2008. Their sound is a unique combination of harsh blackened riffs, earth-shattering blast beats, magnificent orchestrals and terror-inducing vocals.

Over the last decade, the band have performed at numerous festivals and shared the stage with Suicide Silence, Ihsahn and many others. In 2020, Assemble The Chariots signed a worldwide record deal with Seek & Strike. Their long-awaited, colossal full-length album is currently in the making.

Metallic hardcore quintet Ithaca announce one-off performance of They Fear Us in full

Acclaimed UK metallic hardcore troupe Ithaca will perform their globally-lauded new album, They Fear Us, in full on 25th November at London's The Dome.

A Very Special Evening With Ithaca, for one night only, promises to be a theatrical and spectacular performance of They Fear Us in its entirety.

Tickets are on-sale from 9am, 12th May, via: https://ffm.link/aneveningwithithaca

Order They Fear Us here: https://orcd.co/theyfearus

The performance will feature special guests Susie Wedderburn (brass), Hannah Ashman (woodwind, keyboards), Calum Muir (keyboards), and Yansé Cooper (guest vocals), with more TBA.

Ithaca comment: "We can’t tell you how much it means to be able to bring the full aesthetic and sonic vision of this album to life. This won’t just be They Fear Us from start to finish, but They Fear Us as it’s meant to be. This will be a truly unique show in the life of this band, do not miss it."

Ithaca are one of the most exciting and vital voices in the UK heavy scene currently. Formed out of a mutual love of metallic hardcore but despair at its lack of ambition, Ithaca exist to challenge everything you thought a band that makes heavy music should look and sound like.

A glitter-covered nailbomb, Ithaca seamlessly blend the brutality of Relapse Records metalcore with blackgaze, 90s industrial metal, 70s prog and even tinges of 80s power pop. Their influences stretch beyond the musical - this album comes with a clear vision and aesthetic: drawing from members’ different ancestral heritage, queer/non-conforming identities and iconic figures in avant-garde, new wave and post-punk culture.

Their second album They Fear Us is the sound of a band healing from trauma - standing in their own, unapologetic voice. Furious and wildly inventive while also being more coherent and accessible, this album introduces Ithaca to a wider audience than they’ve ever had before. In the words of the band: ‘those who oppose us; your sins will catch up to you. You will fear us’.

Ithaca's 2019 lauded debut The Language of Injury was followed by their early 2020 tour with Grammy-nominated indie-rock band Big Thief, starting at London’s Hammersmith Apollo.

Press support from The Guardian, Pitchfork, BBC R1, Metal Hammer, Kerrang!, Rock Sound, Revolver, Decibel, BrooklynVegan, and performances with Bleeding Through, Jamie Lenman, Anaal Nathrakh, The Number Twelve Looks Like You, at Boomtown Fair and ArcTanGent Festival position Ithaca as a great hope in the future of new UK music. Ithaca have also appeared on Ed Gamble’s Spotify podcast ‘Lifers’, Sky News and BBC3.

Haunt the Woods reveal acoustic version of new single 'Fever Dream'

English alternative rock quartet Haunt the Woods have released an acoustic version of their stunningly evocative new single 'Fever Dream' (Spinefarm).

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/Z-dP9oTd238

Watch the video for the original version of 'Fever Dream' here: https://youtu.be/2VpERm3HJhc

Haunt the Woods' Jonathan Stafford (vocals/guitar) comments: "'Fever Dream', arranged as an acoustic track and performed at Middle Farm Studio. Always a special experience recording to tape in the Middle Farm Live Room, something charming about the honesty and flaws of a single unedited take, you can almost hear the floorboards creak."

The new version of the single comes ahead of Haunt the Woods' performance at The Great Escape today, 11th May. Watch them at Prince Albert, 11.30pm: https://www.greatescapefestival.com/artists/haunt-the-woods

With elements as disparate as Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, The Mars Volta, Queen and beyond, Haunt the Woods are a curiously unique band.

In the deepest reaches of the English countryside there is a sublime sound emanating from the landscape, and its name is Haunt the Woods. Timely and yet oddly timeless, this surprisingly youthful quartet span musical decades and worlds.

Recently signed with Spinefarm, it won't be long before you hear plenty more from these musical mavericks, and with good reason. Formed in the hinterlands between Plymouth, Devon, and Cornwall, Haunt the Woods deftly interweave alt rock, folk, prog and pop with an epic level of pomp and poetic elegance that suggests a far longer tenure than their young years suggest. There are tips of the hat to Queen and Muse, Jeff Buckley and Radiohead, and a sprinkled-in tinge of Beatles-loving pop sensibility and Manchester Orchestra-esque poignancy: Haunt the Woods have that rare ability to conjure legacy while creating a bold sound that is newly their own.

With two warmly received EPs and a debut album, Opaque (2020) which was released in 2020, the stage has been set for their overdue introduction to the world, which begins with their stunning new single 'Fever Dream'. Cinematic in scope, operatic in texture - it's a fitting illustration of the band's prowess and talent.

Jun 03: Scorrier The Great Estate
Jul 05: Cheltenham 2000trees

Danny Estrin (Vocals, Keytar)
A keytar wielding, songwriting powerhouse who is a lawyer by day and a rockstar by night. Not only is Danny an award-winning lawyer, but his multilingual abilities are an asset to Voyager’s live shows all around the world, allowing the band to connect on a deeper level with their international audience, mesmerised by his ‘80s vocal timbre.

Simone Dow (Guitars)
A firecracker of a guitarist whose chronic pain condition only drives her further to succeed. An advocate of migraine awareness, the 7-string guitarist shreds and brings an energy to the stage unmatched by anyone else in the scene.

Scott Kay (Guitars)
Scott’s technical proficiency and energy perfectly compliment his sister in shred, syncopating their efforts on stage and providing a twin attack on guitars. Scott’s philosophical approach to music shines through in his performance, executing a deep and meaningful energy to every live show.

Alex Canion (Bass)
The face of bass, and a killer vocalist to boot. Alex is a force of nature and connects with all his peers on stage in a way that brings a dynamic that is hard to rival in any band. Providing epic moments in the songs alongside a rhythmic foundation, Alex’s personality brings an eccentric and expressive outpour to Voyager’s shows.

The most bombastic drummer you’ll ever see. Leading the charge with impact and momentum, Ash’s drumming is indefatigable. Not only is he a master of his craft, but he also specialises in another craft topic, beer.

Polar announce new line-up and European tour with Atilla and Born Of Osiris

UK post-hardcore stalwarts Polar are excited to announce their new line up and that they will join Attila and Born Of Osiris on their upcoming EU tour.

Vocalist and founder member Adam Woodford (Woody) has appointed a group of well seasoned players, ready to take the band to the next level, both with touring new album Everywhere, Everything   but also with new material. Woody is joined by guitarists Simon Richardson, Bruno Consani, Bassist Stefan Whiting (ex As Lions) and drummer Bradley Hanson.

They replace guitarist Fabian Lomas, bassist Gav Thane and bassist Noah See, who recently left the band.

Woody has released the following statement:

"Hello, it's Woody,

"It’s with great sadness and heavy heart that I have to announce the departure of
Fabain Lomas, Gav Thane and Noah See.

"When finishing our last tour in 2020 and going into the pandemic and creating our record
Everywhere Everything, we felt the heavy strain of being in a band through the hardest time in our lifetime. Over this time we kept optimistic, but with the ever changing world we had a very rough journey to where we are today, and we have agreed to part ways with each other. I can’t thank them enough for their time and love they dedicated over many years, to go back as far as starting the band with Fabain in a car park in Guildford. As hard as these decisons have come, I greet their decisons with respect and wish them the best with all their future endeavours.

"For me I don’t feel I am at point where I wanted to call it a day and however fearful I am of the unknown, deep down I believe I have more to give to
Polar.

"I have made the brave steps forward with the idea of bringing a fresh perspective to
Polar and I am very happy to welcome Simon Richardson (guitar), Bruno Consani (guitar), Stefan Whiting (Bass), Bradley Hanson (drums). With meeting them and discussing the future plans for Polar, I felt with each of them a connection and shared energy. They are what Polar needs to have a future and the future is very bright. We have very strong positive plans for Polar, this is the dawn of a new era.

"We understand you deserve nothing more than the best from us and that’s what we will deliver, make sure you are ready for July. Its going to be one hell of a ride!

"Thank you for all your continuous love and support through these hard times,

"Long Live
Polar"
