"‘DON'T HOLD ME DOWN’ is a song about how our love and desires can hold us back from what truly is good for us. Not letting go of relationships, our work habits could make us neglect our loved ones, and substance abuse can lead to self-neglect. All things of this nature is what 'DON'T HOLD ME DOWN' is about.

"We are very proud of this song, the music video is also a great step forward for us as we have always either done them ourselves or had friends to help out. Craig at Digichemistry really helped us bring our idea to life and is a true professional. We hope you enjoy the second taste of our second album which will be out very soon!"

Florence Black [Planet Rock, Best New Band 2022] are award-winning guitarist Tristan Thomas (lead singer/guitar), Jordan Evans (bass/backing vocals) and Perry Davies (drums/backing vocals) from Merthyr Tydfil, in the rock/metal goldmine of the South Wales valleys.

In a year peppered with festival appearances across Europe and the UK, they embarked on their biggest performances yet, with two sold-out stadium shows to 90,000 fans in Frankfurt, opening for German giants Bohse Onkelz. Florence Black were immediately invited back out to join Bohse Onkelz on their completely sold-out arena run of Germany in August and September. The band rounded off their busiest, most successful live year to date with their own largely sold-out WEIGHT OF THE WORLD headline run in October.

Monasteries are well known for their barrage of frenetic aggression and unrivalled intensity. Josh Davies (vocals) states: “We all thought that ’Spiralled Icon' would be the perfect track to release as we drop the full album, as we have taken the fans on a wild rollercoaster of emotions from ‘Alone & Against’ to ‘Heaven Failed Us’ to now ‘Spiralled Icon.' I personally feel this song is by far a heavier and more brutal track than ‘Alone & Against.’ 

"The track is basically talking about how our icons have failed us and we looked up to them for either guidance, inspiration, solace or even some type of closure. Then just be pushed to the curb and treated like garbage, whether that’s coming from your idols (friends, family, musicians, etc) we look up to in the scene, a good percentage of it is smoke and mirrors and nothing is what it seems. I have known the Ingested guys for quite some time now and I asked Jason Evans (vocals) if he wanted to be a part of this release, as I felt his style and technique fit this song in particular. He brought something that I could not deliver with his brutal ass beating throwback surpassing the boundaries of human suffering style delivering it to its fullest potential. This is the song we’re the most proud of and shows the direction we’re headed in. The music video speaks for itself, as it’s abrupt and chaotic, which we love and can’t wait for the fans to be able to hear it.

"Lyrically, a lot of Ominous was written post-Covid and there is so much emotion and meaning behind these songs. I’m personally speaking from my experiences from childhood to becoming an adult. Everyone has put every fibre of their being into these songs, from the fight riffs to the concept and then to the production side making sure that we will be delivering the most anticipated album of 2023. It has been one hell of a journey to bring this album to fruition and it has most certainly been a long time coming for us. People should expect the unexpected, as this album holds something for everyone, whether that goes from clean singing to blast beats to then absolute ass beater fighter riffs. I am grateful for my friends for taking part and delivering some of the most incredible guest spots to date and I’m proud of Slav and Ivan for killing the producing, mix and mastering.

The band comment: "We are thrilled to unveil the first single from our new album. 'Baoyu' discusses bodily trauma through the metaphor of a great drowning flood. The song also expresses the feeling of disconnection from life and others following trauma. 'Despite my birth and rebirth, my beating heart does not let me live'."

Laang 冷 ("cold") are born from an unearthly near-death experience, and the post-traumatic stress suffered by vocalist-guitarist Haitao Yang. The band's music exquisitely explores the pain, misery, and struggle of trauma and recovery - a unique and highly cathartic project.

Laang 冷's musical style combines aggressive and non-canonical black metal riffing with melancholic melodies, tortured vocals performed in Mandarin Chinese, dark orchestras, and traditional erhu & guzheng instrumentation. Haunting and captivating, Laang 冷 provide a highly-charged tormented soundscape - heard throughout the meditative Riluo ("sunset"), with eight new tracks ruminating on death and beyond. 

Although still a relatively new project, Laang 冷's list of achievements so far is impressive. Their debut album Haiyang 海洋 ("ocean") was released in 2019 on Talheim Records, and received the Kaohsiung City National Culture Award, followed by headlining tours through Taiwan and Hong Kong. In 2021 the band released their second album Xinteng 心疼 ("misery"), again on Talheim Records, followed by a headlining North American tour May 2022.

Laang 冷's music has also been featured in several movies and video games, including the Hollywood horror film Antidote (2021), directed by Peter Daskaloff, and the video game Dyslite and Silver Squad.

Frontman Daniel​ Carriere's emotionally charged vocal delivery kickstarts a chain reaction with a head-nodding guitar groove. The melodic bridge bleeds into a skyscraping chorus uplifted by a reminder, “So you better keep your head up”.

'Surrender to failure' delves deep into themes of despair, internal struggle, and self-doubt. The new single evokes a profound portrayal of anguish and desolation, resonating deeply with the internal struggles many individuals endure, which are influenced by external situations and their own inner convictions and anxieties.

Hailing from Colorado Springs, Colorado USA, MOUTH FOR WAR focuses on manifesting crushing breakdowns laced with visceral grooves that echo somber melodies. Of the band’s critically lauded debut LP, Life Cast In Glass, Blabbermouth championed the band’s knack for creating riffs “that will make you want to run through a brick wall,” while Dead Rhetoric praised a “visceral and intense attack that will make you catch your breath,” adding “MOUTH FOR WAR snuggly nestles into that blurry metal and hardcore line that manages to take the best of both worlds and craft an experience that is both memorable and completely destructive.”

Later this week, MOUTH FOR WAR will hit the road for a three-week run supporting No Bragging Rights. The Born Dead Tour commences on 25th August in Chicago, Illinois, runs through 17th September in Nashville, Tennessee, and includes a stop at Born Dead Festival in Albany, New York. Additional support will be provided by Downswing, as well as Mugshot and Your Spirit Dies, on select dates. 

Forged in 2019, MOUTH FOR WAR put out their debut EP An Ear Kept To The Ground and immediately sunk their teeth into the world of touring that was unfortunately cut short by COVID-19. Where the pandemic dragged other bands under, MOUTH FOR WAR used their downtime to formulate their debut LP, Life Cast In Glass, a collection of grieving songs. Released on 1126 Records, Life Cast In Glass helped propel the band’s notoriety and curated their next steps into becoming a national act. The band has since taken on the entire US with bands such as Bodysnatcher, Boundaries, and ZAO, as has shared stages Knocked Loose, Malevolence, and others, playing numerous sold out shows and taking crowds by proverbial storm.
