UK tech-metalcore new comers Eschalon have launched with their debut single 'Helios', along with a stunning music video.

Featuring the legendary Neema Askari of Fell Silent, watch the video directed by Jake Ten here: https://youtu.be/6CTtOftgYSY

Founded in Cambridge by Simon Garrod and Miles TaylorEschalon has been a behind-the-scenes project for many years. Throughout lockdown, the band finished writing multiple bodies of work before recruiting the right members for the job, which eventually saw the culmination of what we know as Eschalon today.

Eschalon started recording with Meyrick De La Fuente of Floodgate Audio in late 2021 to create their all-encompassing auditory and visual onslaught. Mixing dissonance with serenity, Eschalon draw from a wide range of influences, fusing multiple genres to create a dense and chaotic soundscape.

On the new single 'Helios', the band comment: "Burning compassion in the face of shadows. 'Helios' is a fervent testament to the unyielding spirit that reaches out to uplift those grappling with turmoil. The lyrics weave an intricate tapestry of heartfelt altruism, resonating with anyone who's ever extended a hand to someone in need. It's a symphony of devotion, capturing the fiery passion of aiding others while acknowledging the toll it can take. Journeys through cosmic allegories mirror the emotional voyage, as the track kindles a guiding light through the darkest of times."

The first single 'Helios' is also a tribute to one of the pillars of the tech metal community. The band continue: "On November 1st, 2022 we lost our dear friend Karl Riley of Carcer City. Karl had been a supporter of Eschalon for many years, and had introduced us to our vocalist BradBrad was Karl’s best friend, and cared for him until the very end. Karl had become obsessed with number synchronicities and had been telling his friends, family and nurses that the numbers ‘11122’ were important to his life, but that he did not know what they meant. Having predicted the date of his own passing, we felt this was an important date and marked it as a date we should honour as a band. We decided that 1/11/23, a year on from Karl’s passing, we would release Helios in loving memory of Karl Riley, to honour him, and our relationship as a band which he hand a significant hand in forging.

"Karl Riley Forever."

Eschalon recently played their debut live show to a sold-out audience in Cambridge, opening for Vexed. News on more live shows coming soon.

Unprocessed open up about toxic relationships with emotive new single / video ‘Glass’

Boundary pushing quartet Unprocessed have released their new single / video ‘Glass’, taken from their upcoming third album ...and everything in between, set for release on 1st December 2023.

Watch the video for 'Glass' here: https://youtu.be/JyZ27Sw0vIE

Pre-order ...and everything in between here: www.unprocessed.band

The band comment: “‘Glass’ serves as the atmospheric, dark, yet beautiful episode of our album. Starting with a signature Unprocessed tapping harmonic riff, ‘Glass’ delivers upon a story of toxic love and the sacrifices one has to make to sustain this kind of relationship. The lyrics state “Loving you feels like walking on broken glass”. The song travels through a storm and culminates in a hopeful ending with its unexpected mood change. ‘Glass’ is a big ballad that perfectly captures the melodic side of this record, and we can’t wait to hear you sing along with us.”

‘Glass’, the third single taken from the upcoming album, ...and everything in between, is a bold and complex record pushing the boundaries of technical musicianship, song construction, sonic production and more. Inspired by the emotions conjured from life experiences, Unprocessed have channelled their raw visceral power through their musical talent to create this special record. Never before could one have considered a band being likened to artists as extreme as The Dillinger Escape PlanPolyphia and Bring Be The Horizon, yet Unprocessed have done it.

On ... and everything in between, the band are: “Taking all influences and combining them into an ultimate evolution of everything Unprocessed has ever been, while still adding a new flavour and style to the mix. Epic riffs with intricate licks and mind-bending rhythms, brutal breakdowns, epic guitar solos and big and catchy choruses.

...and everything in between can quite literally be described as everything in between the extremes of life. Dealing with anger, sorrow, nostalgia, love and fear the album reflects on the different shades of a personality that everyone is made out of (e.g. there is evil in everyone). “

Be ready for a whole host of surprises on ...and everything in between, including a special guest appearance from recent tour mates Tim Henson and Scott LePage of Polyphia.

The masters of merging guitar-driven and virtuosic flavours of pop, rock and metal - Manuel Gardner FernandesDavid Levy (bass, synths), Christoph Schultz (guitar) and Leon Pfeifer (drums) are back with their most adventurous record yet.

Having toured the world numerous times, sharing stages with the likes of PolyphiaSpiritbox and many more, Unprocessed have established themselves as one of the most exciting live acts today. This album will take Unprocessed on their first consecutive cycle of headline tours through Europe and the USA. Unprocessed have also been announced as support to TesseracT on their upcoming EU & UK Tour in Jan/Feb 2024 with Callous Daoboys opening.

Hailing from the UK, Saint Agnes are all about honest lyrics, intense vocal performances, plus rage-fuelled music intended to give a voice to those closer to the fringe than the centre.

As much gang as band, Saint Agnes seek to empower those who’ve been battered and bruised yet refuse to lie down, and it’s a thread that runs deep within Bloodsuckers – SA’s first album for Spinefarm, the follow-up to 2019’s Welcome To Silvertown, issued on the band’s own label.

In addition to … SilvertownSaint Agnes have released a number of singles, videos and EPs, embarked on headline tours in both the UK and Europe, and appeared at a host of festivals, including Download, 2000trees, Isle of Wight and Kendal Calling.

Saint Agnes
have also made big waves in the gaming world, with the release of Dead Island 2 in April. The game, which features the Saint Agnes song 'And They All Fall Down', has sold over two million copies.

One thing’s for sure, it’s got nothing to do with rule-books or playing it safe…

From the title track (also lead single / video) onwards, Bloodsuckers is a genre-jumping body of work, taking in elements of metal, punk, industrial and grunge, without being bound by any specific style; the 11 tracks here come straight from the source, largely self-produced and mixed (NIN collaborator Sean Beavan lends his mixing and production skills to ‘Follow You’), and this self-contained approach provides an extra emotional weight throughout, with doom trap provocateur and Kerrang! cover artist Mimi Barks further fuelling the chaos on the short, sharp shock that is ‘Body Bag’.

Created in the months following the unexpected and untimely death of Kitty’s mother, Bloodsuckers explores a number of themes, including mental illness, pent-up rage, undying love and, of course, grief; from the trash-metal howl into the night that is ‘Bloodsuckers’ right through to broken ballad, ‘This Is Not The End’, a poignant reflection of Kitty’s still-raw emotions, this is a call to outsiders everywhere…

Concludes Kitty: “Creating this album gave me a reason to get to my feet at a time when I really wasn’t sure if I could. I’ve tried to put everything I’ve been feeling into it, all the pain, the rage, the grief, even the unexpected moments of beauty and belief. I hope it makes you feel less alone. I hope it makes you feel bigger, badder and stronger. We might be damaged but that doesn’t mean we’re worthless. This is a record for the defeated, the crushed. We might be broken but that doesn’t mean we’re not whole. Bloodsuckers forever, Saint Agnes forever.”

This latest anthem is a symphony of powerful vocals, atop a backdrop of driving synths and crushed melodies, and is accompanied by two remixes from Aesthetic Perfection and genCAB. 'Harbour' chaotically and introspectively depicts the characters who make up who we are – displayed in the frantic embodiment of the music video.

British noise merchants Muscle Vest release chaotic new single 'Glue Trap'

London noise-punks Muscle Vest have shared a music video for brand new single 'Glue Trap'. Recorded and mixed by the band's own Charlie Webb (guitar) and mastered by Alan Douches (ConvergeMastodonThe Dillinger Escape Plan), the one-minute and nine-second pandemonium of a track is "An autobiographical spurt of hardcore laying bare one of many perils of renting in the UK", according to vocalist Dave Rogers

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/V5_mT0R8ekU

Stream the song on Spotify: https://spoti.fi/40k18m0

'Glue Trap' is the final piece of a disordered puzzle: Threeeps, the band's debut vinyl release, is due out on 24th November via Prank Monkey Records. As the name indicates, the record is a compilation of Muscle Vest's three EPs released to date, with two additional tracks - 'Glue Trap' and 'God Doesn't Love You'.

On 'Glue Trap', the band comment: "The song was inspired by an event unfortunately experienced by our singer, Dave Rogers. The horrifying discovery of a glue trap set by a previous tenant and left unattended under a kitchen cabinet perfectly summarises the experience of renting in the UK. And as with most summaries, it’s quick. It’s just under 1:10 of thrashing hardcore and duelling feedback that batters the senses and leaves them wanting more."

Formed in late 2018, London noise-punks Muscle Vest carve songs out of chaos. Crawling out from the filth is hard hitting, heavy music about the strain of living through a time where everything seems to get worse every year for everyone. They have released three EPs: Human ResourcesLive Laugh Loathe and Hot Hot Hate, as well as a split single with Struggles With Syntax titled 'God Doesn’t Love You'.

Muscle Vest are known for their blistering, unpredictable live show. This has been honed from years of playing in London, around Southern UK, and from various jaunts around the country (such as the Hot Hot Hate tour which saw them play 10 dates between Bristol and Edinburgh). In August 2023 the band made their international debut in front of a packed house at Supersonic in Paris.

The band’s newest track 'Glue Trap', recorded and mixed by the band’s own Charlie Webb (guitar) and mastered by Alan Douches (ConvergeMastodonThe Dillinger Escape Plan), marks a new era in the band’s development where they have taken production in-house.

Debut vinyl release Threeeps, a compilation of the band's work to date, will be released on 24th November.

Plini announces new Mirage EP; releases first single/video

A warm and exuberant new Plini chapter arrives today, with the talented Australian guitarist and songwriter announcing his brand new EP Mirage due out on 1st December, accompanied by a vibrant new single and music video 'Ember'.

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/716ln-hgxbc
Pre-order Mirage EP here: https://www.plini.co

Armed with the Plini trademarks - sleek, dazzling and refreshing modernity, 'Ember' is an undulating journey of euphoric progressive rock and cascading instrumentals, with long-time collaborators Simon Grove on bass and Chris Allison on drums.

Plini comments: "'Ember' was chosen as the first single because it's probably the most "normal" of the songs (if this sounds surprising, you may want to brace yourself for the EP). And it was an absolute treat to spend a couple of days at Dovecote shooting the music video!"

Hinting at what is to come on his upcoming new EP Mirage, 'Ember' follows on from Plini's recent 2023 single '11 Nights' while also kickstarting an exciting new chapter for the beloved Sydney maestro.

With five new tracks lying in wait on Mirage later this year, a collection which will also feature live strings, piano, oud and a guitar solo from Animals As LeadersTosin Abasi alongside Plini's dexterous performance, there is plenty of sonic reverie still to come as 2023 begins to draw to a close. And with his biggest Australian tour production to date taking place earlier this year, the sky and perhaps even the galaxy is barely the limit for Plini as he ventures into a new creative phase, beckoning you along for the ride.

Plini adds, "Writing for the EP began shortly after the release of Impulse Voices at the end of 2020, while Australia was still in lockdown. The majority of the production was finished by the end of 2021, but once touring resumed, the project had to be put on the shelf for a little while, after deciding that it would be better to give it the attention it deserved than try to finish it in between flights and tours and other commitments. The wait was worth it (at least in my opinion) - couldn't be happier with how it turned out!"

After two years of waiting patiently, Plini sprang back into action in 2022, with back-to-back sold out headline tours of Australia, India and Scandinavia, festival appearances in Australia, UK, Germany and Portugal, and performing in some of Australia’s finest theatres supporting Northlane

Always delivering mind-bending musicality from all angles, Plini has previously released two full length albums, 2016's Handmade Cities and 2020's Impulse Voices, as well as multiple EPs, singles and contributing credits with various other artists. Nominated for Live Guitarist of the Year in 2018 at the National Live Music AwardsPlini has also previously toured alongside Sleep TokenPeriphery and TesseracT.

Tijuana Bibles release new single 'Unknown'

Scottish post-punk quartet Tijuana Bibles have released their new single 'Unknown'. The track is taken from their long-awaited debut album Free Milk, due for release on 8th December via Button Up Records.

Stream 'Unknown' here: https://tijuanabibles.ffm.to/unknown

Pre-order/pre-save Free Milk here: https://tijuanabibles.ffm.to/freemilk

The band comment on the new single:

"'Unknown' is a bittersweet lament about losing a friend, a relationship ending, or growing apart from someone close to you. Reminiscing and wondering if they are still out there, somewhere, and what might've been if things were different - all part of the great unknown."

Tijuana Bibles will celebrate the release of their new album with a special headline show, set to take place on 16th December at Glasgow's King Tut's.

Uproarious, hellacious, all-killer hooks and chaotic dissonance. Tijuana Bibles come careering from the studio with reckless abandon and an immersive new agenda.

The quartet's hotly-anticipated new material is propulsive, volatile and unencumbered by any expectation of what fans may have come to expect.

Twelve warped hymns for the disenchanted generation. Themes of frustration, anxiety and isolation find escape in the dark underbelly of a desolate city. Vulnerable inner moments transform, rewild, taking aim at the political glitterati as melodies violently explode into the abyss. New music for the new world… This is the sound of modern dystopia.

Tipped by Jack Saunders as a Next Wave on BBC Radio 1’s Indie Show, Tijuana Bibles have captivated global airwaves, with support from KEXP (US), KCRW (US), and Mexico’s biggest rock radio station IBERO 90.9, who included their single 'Pariah' in their Top 5 songs of the year.

Anyone that has bore witness to their live shows will attest that Tijuana Bibles' unique alchemy and charisma translates perfectly from the studio into the realm of live performance.

Packing out basement venues from Paris to Poznań, guerrilla gigs on the streets of their travels have punctuated huge festival appearances at Reading & LeedsIsle Of Wight Festival, Spain’s Kutxa Kultur, Germany’s Reeperbahn and Austin, Texas’ SXSW

Acclaimed singles 'Human Touch' and 'Stateless' lit the fuse on Tijuana Bibles' debut album - the anthemic new single 'The Wave' is about to launch it into the stratosphere.

Tijuana Bibles are:

Tony Costello - vocals
Danny Costello - bass
James Brannigan - guitar
Mikey Dornan - drums

Dead Icarus, the new project of former Atreyu lead vocalist and Gold-selling artist Alex Varkatzas, have shared their new single / video 'So I Set Myself On Fire', streaming now via MNRK Heavy.

Check out the video  here: https://youtu.be/gMJARNPifmg

“'So I Set Myself on Fire' is about finding inspiration in darkness," Varkatzas says. "It's about letting your inspiration consume you so fully that it changes you into something else  - a driven, unstoppable force of nature."

Dead Icarus previously shared the videos for the new singles 'The Vultures Circle' and 'Sellout'.

A staple of Ozzfest in the mid-2000s with two gold albums, Atreyu are one of the defining bands of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal, alongside groups like Avenged Sevenfold and Lamb Of God. Metalcore classics like The Curse and A Death-Grip on Yesterday were powered by Alex’s distinctive scream.

The band has officially signed a worldwide deal with MNRK Heavy, with a full-length project slated for Spring 2024.
