New UK heavy group Malice make their mark today with the release of their gargantuan new single 'Flayed Lord', ft. Jessie Powell from Dream State.
Watch the video for 'Flayed Lord' here: https://youtu.be/fS_WsttNeI4
And stream here: https://bfan.link/flayed-lord
Vocalist Josh Davies comments: "Writing 'Flayed Lord' was in a time I was struggling to sleep at night and also finding it hard to cope with certain things that were happening in my life. The Flayed Lord himself is a metaphor for all the bad. The first person character is in denial of this, until the point of self-realisation that he is what he sees and no matter where he goes he will always be followed by the Flayed Lord who represents his trauma. Having my heart on my sleeve is where I become my most vulnerable and I’m proud to have shared this song with Jessie and our fans, thank you for listening and thank you for supporting! We will see you all soon."
'Flayed Lord' is only Malice's third single, following their riproaring debut 'Underneath' and second single 'Abhor'.
Since the release of 'Underneath', Malice's mission statement has been to show no remorse, to crush the observer with the intensity of the audio and visuals on display. 'Abhor' follows suit, leaving no time to dwell or contemplate, with its erratic and pulverising riffs, stampeding drums and an onslaught of versatile vocals that dominate anyone who wishes to observe.
To complete the trio, 'Flayed Lord' has now been unveiled, offered as an end point to the narrative of the previous two singles. With a star feature from Dream State's Jessie Powell, Malice's first three songs are already demanding the attention of UK press and fans alike.
The quintet pull together their years of experience in chaotic music to create an experience that will leave you filled with aggression and unrest.
Malice is fronted by Josh Davies (Monasteries), and backed by Aaron Wright (Monasteries), Jordan Burke, Matt Judd (Grievances), and Jack Foster (Non-Lin).

“This is not a side project. It’s a new touring and recording band, and with Forever We Burn, our debut studio album, we’re showing our love for all things gothic and grand, along with a collective belief that dark music doesn’t have to be confined to the shadows.” – Aaron Stainthorpe
Behold the revelation! Behold the birth of ‘death pop’! High Parasite emerges into the light, unveiling debut album, Forever We Burn, set for release via Candlelight / Spinefarm on 27th September.
Lighting the way is inaugural single, 'Let It Fail', a nihilistic anthem fusing big riffs, choruses and grooves with electronic and industrial influences, whilst the ethereal vocals of Heather Thompson (Tapping The Vein) nod to her previous work with Paradise Lost. This cry of anguish to a world scarred beyond repair is accompanied by a video directed by Shaun Hodson (Loki Films).
Watch ‘Let It Fail’ here: https://youtu.be/YSVDWgu5-Ds
Stream / Pre-order here: https://highparasite.lnk.to/LetItFail
Forever We Burn features 10 new tracks, all produced by Gregor Mackintosh (Paradise Lost), who also adds some signature guitar lines; as a body of work, it both delves into the darker recesses of the human condition and heralds the arrival of a new name and a familiar, formidable voice…
The name (an acknowledgement of mankind as parasite-in-chief) is High Parasite; the voice, that of Aaron Stainthorpe – longstanding frontman with doom metal maestros, My Dying Bride.
As a revered and founding pillar of My Dying Bride, with a legacy spanning over three decades, the spotlight will doubtless focus on Aaron’s distinctive profile, initially at least; pull back the red velvet curtains, however, and another force emerges in the form of bassist / vocalist / songwriter Tombs – a key player in the creation of High Parasite as a livin’, breathin’ entity.
Every song bears the indelible stamp of Stainthorpe and Tombs, their collaboration forming the dark, pulsating core of this five-piece ensemble, fleshed out by Sam Hill (rhythm guitar), Jonny Hunter (lead guitar) and Dan Brown (drums).
Comments Aaron, “The band has been lurking in the shadows, developing, growing, and evolving, and is now ready to unveil its own brand of darkness to the world. Skating the lines between metal, gothic rock and dark synth pop, High Parasite is here, and death pop is born!”
High Parasite will take their realm of dark music to major venues across the UK and Ireland in October and November in support of Cradle Of Filth. Don’t miss the special Halloween performance at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town on 31st October. Check out the full list of dates below.

World-renowned American death metal icons NILE return in 2024 with their highly-anticipated 10th onslaught, The Underworld Awaits Us All, out 23rd August via Napalm Records. Boasting airtight technicality and unrelenting brutality, the new album pushes each member of NILE – founding mastermind/guitarist Karl Sanders, longtime drum master George Kollias, vocalist/guitarists Brian Kingsland and Zach Jeter, and bassist Dan Vadim Von – to their furthest extremes both in artistry and performance.
Once again produced and recorded at Sanders’ own Serpent Headed Studios in Greenville, South Carolina, the band returned to Vile Nilotic Rites engineer Mark Lewis (Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus, Whitechapel) for mixing and mastering.
In celebration of today's announcement, NILE have dropped the album's first new single, 'Chapter for Not Being Hung Upside Down on a Stake in the Underworld and Made to Eat Feces by the Four Apes', alongside a new official music video. Topped by killer screams and gutturals, the track is a winding hacksaw of brutal tech-death injections citing the Egyptian Book of the Dead.
Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/CmwqMQ2g0NQ
Pre-order here: https://lnk.to/NILE-TUAUA/napalmrecords
NILE's Karl Sanders comments on the new track and video: “'Chapter for not being Hung Upside Down' is one of our favourite tracks on the new record. It’s a lot of fun to play, challenging and unpredictable, but with an infectiously brutal, unrestrained vibe that I am very certain will be a blast in the mosh pit during live shows.
"We are super happy to be working with Tom Flynn for the video for this song - he is a visionary with insanely creative ideas and a really cool guy to work with. Very excited for people to see what he has been cooking up with this video."
Facing the planet’s inevitable end with their diehard fans at their side, NILE waste absolutely no time with histrionics on The Underworld Awaits Us All, distilling their trademark Egyptology driven tempest down to its most streamlined essence. Charging into battle as its namesake depicts, 'Stelae of Vultures' makes an immediate impact with dissonant guitar chords and supernatural drumming, teasing the auditory evisceration to come. Topped by impressive screams and gutturals, the track leads into 'Chapter for Not Being Hung Upside Down on a Stake in the Underworld and Made to Eat Feces by the Four Apes', citing the Egyptian Book of the Dead’s 181st chapter. The album’s most succinct track, 'To Strike with Secret Fang', blends low-end punishment with blackened death metal inspiration, before album standouts such as 'Naqada II Enter the Golden Age' and 'Overlords of the Black Earth' breathe new life with thrash and fusion experimentation, as well as real human choirs – adding a raw element to the NILE fold. Each track soars as a technical tour-de-force – featuring career-defining extreme drumming from Kollias, as well as razor-sharp soloing from all three active guitarists and palpable bass exploration. A perfect example of this equation is pinnacle burner 'Under the Curse of the One God', combining sinister atmospherics with breakneck pacing and whirlwind, vicious riff acrobatics.
Throughout the remainder of its 11 pummelling tracks and intricate interludes, NILE masters full-tilt speed and ferocious musicality. 30 years into their heavy reign, The Underworld Awaits Us All proves that NILE is marching onward and undoubtedly upward, bleeding metal for their fandom for as long as the sands of time will allow.
Karl Sanders says about the album:“We are very happy to be sharing with fans Nile’s 10th album. We worked overtime making this record as killer as we could - because we sincerely felt fans deserved our best efforts. The Underworld Awaits us All - and we will see you there."
The Underworld Awaits Us All’s mind-bending art was once again envisioned and created by Michał 'Xaay' Loranc, with reference to the cycle of life and judgment at its end.
NILE recently announced a full European tour for September 2024, followed by a Japan tour in October 2024. The band have been confirmed for Maryland Deathfest 2025, and will make two festival appearances this summer. See below for a full list and stay tuned for more tour announcements coming soon.

Celebrated as one of the hottest rising stars of 80s-styled hard rock, NESTOR have unleashed a lyric video for their latest anthem 'Teenage Rebel'. This high-energy track captures the rebellious spirit of youth and is a great taste of what's to come from their upcoming album, Teenage Rebel, to be released this Friday, 31st May, 2024, via Napalm Records.

While still unreleased, the album is already being highly praised by the press – being dubbed “hard rock elixir of youth” by Metalized (DK), scored 8/10 in Classic Rock (UK) and claiming the #1 spot in the soundchecks of Rock Hard (DE), Rock It! (DE) and Sweden Rock (SE) – among other enthusiastic recognitions of their creative work.
NESTOR comment on their newest single: “The song and the video ‘Teenage Rebel’ is a tribute to the late 80s and to our hometown of Falköping where we grew up. The is song about expressions like ‘Radical’ and ‘Totally Tubular’ and E.T. trying to call home but also about the importance of living for today.”
As one of the hottest newcomers of modern rock music, NESTOR turn back time by gathering millions of streams on Spotify and hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube. They’ve shared stages with the almighty Alice Cooper, greats like Def Leppard and Europe, and were even supporting the legendary KISS in Stockholm on their 2022 stadium tour. Their new album, Teenage Rebel, is a rebellious and energetic onslaught that convinces with enormous hit density while invoking the spirit of youth. Get ready to crank up the volume.
Having formed in 1989 only to fall into hibernation over three long decades, NESTOR emerged stronger than ever in 2021 with their debut album, Kids in a Ghost Town, marking the band's triumphant return to the spotlight and captivating fans with their timeless sound and unmatched energy.
The new album, Teenage Rebel, sets off with a captivating intro-monologue spoken by Danish voice actress Freya Miller, creating a retro, rebellious atmosphere that sets the mood for the album and prepares the stage for the opening track 'We Come Alive' - a true blast of an opener. Rhythmic guitars create an exciting backdrop for the gripping vocals of frontman Tobias Gustavsson, leading towards an incredible guitar solo by guitar hero Jonny Wemmenstedt. The album's title track, 'Teenage Rebel', convinces with tight riffing and an anthem-like chorus honoring the tradition of 80s hard rock. '21' is a wild ride celebrating the ease of youth. NESTOR also prove their ability to shift from big stadium anthems to their emotional side on tracks like 'Caroline', convincing with catchy melody and passionate vocals, while Wemmenstedt demonstrates his insane skills once again as he tops the song with another stunning solo. Touching ballads like 'Last To Know', “Daughter” and 'The One That Got Away' present an even more vulnerable facet, reaching straight for the listener’s heart with yearning lyrics, while tracks like 'Addicted To Your Love' and 'Unchain My Heart' celebrate love, youth and the joy of being naïve.
NESTOR on their new masterpiece: “The album Teenage Rebel takes place in the glory days when we were young, confident and the future was filled with endless possibilities but also how we reflect on these days today. In many ways it’s the sequel to Kids in a Ghost Town and we can’t wait for you to hear it.”

Finnish metalcore/progressive metal hybrid Split Iris have released new single 'Oath', taken from the band's new album, Bloodred Dusk, out 28th June via Seek and Strike. 'Oath' is a dynamic and hard-hitting song that sets the tone for the entire album. This new offering is also a conceptual album that explores a wide range of sonic emotions.
Watch the 'Oath' video here: https://youtu.be/m3hckWQANUw
Split Iris states: “Our new single, ‘Oath,’ is about finding oneself amid complete desperation with seemingly no way out. It is a reflection about everything that went wrong with humanity and how all the things one thought as stable truths collapsed in the view of the storyteller. However, even from the ashes of humanity there is a spark of hope to be found and the storyteller remembers the oath they made in the beginning of their story to never give up. Therefore, the storyteller sets out to find a way out of despair and carry the promise of restoring humanity, even if it would mean the end for them.
"The song has a very important meaning for us, as it carries a message about finding a solution no matter what we’re faced with. This powerful message is reflected musically in the song, and in the album’s story arc it’s a turning point of sorts, which is why the song is an obvious and natural choice to be a lead single as well.
"We're super excited of how the the music video turned out. It complements the song by visually achieving its deep message and its energy with the bands intense and mesmerizing movements and the energetic camera work. The colors and the lighting reflect the mixed feelings of despair and hope, which are the core themes of the song. We and the filming crew feel we really put our souls into the performance and the making of the video, which shows. The video and the song go hand in hand, merging into a complete experience and further deepening the story, taking it to a whole new level.
"Our new album, Bloodred Dusk, is a story of humanity and its looming end. The album reflects on different aspects of humanity’s limits and about its resilience. A common theme throughout the album is hubris as a trait of humanity, and how it blinds us from seeing our limits and our lack of control. Even in the face of total obliteration and in the moments of the deepest despair there is still trust that everything can be fixed. The story arc moves from a sense of stability to losing all hope and giving up, and finally to finding hope even amid complete ruin with seemingly no possible future for humanity. From the deepest moment of despair there is still a spark of hope to be found for a brighter future. But will it be enough? Is it already too late? What will it take to fix humanity’s course? That is the theme and the core thought underlying the story."

Swedish high-energy rock 'n' roll legends THE HELLACOPTERS are very pleased to reveal a brand new single called 'Stay With You' via Nuclear Blast Records, the first new original Hellacopters song since the release of their triumphant, chart-topping comeback album, Eyes Of Oblivion, in April 2022.
Listen to 'Stay With You' here: https://hellacopters.bfan.link/swysg
Watch the music video for 'Stay With You' here: https://youtu.be/O3eU1s7KnA4
Unsurprisingly, 'Stay With You' picks up exactly where the band left off two years ago. It's a no-bullshit action rock stunner that cuts right to the chase and yet again the band has delivered a stylish music video to be released alongside, which was directed and edited by Emil Klinta.
Nicke Andersson (guitars & vocals) commented:
"We’re in the middle of recording our new full-length album which has no date of release just yet. In the meantime we’re very excited about the release of our new single 'Stay With You'. It was originally intended to be included on the upcoming LP but we decided to do a Beatles and release it as stand alone track with a B-side. 'Stay With You' is a straight up minor key rocker and it’s backed with our interpretation of The Cure’s 'Fire In Cairo'. We hope you dig."
'Stay With You' is out today on all streaming platforms.
The song will also be available as a limited 7'' single via Lightning Records. The B-side contains a cover version of 'Fire In Cairo' by THE CURE.
Pre-orders are live NOW at www.lightningrecords.se
THE HELLACOPTERS released their eighth studio album titled Eyes Of Oblivion on April 1st, 2022. It marked the first full-length since the release of their temporary farewell record Head Off in 2008, and was met with massive acclaim from fans and media alike. Charting at #1 in Sweden, #3 in Germany, #6 in Finland, the band celebrated a triumphant return culminating in a show with the mighty Iron Maiden in Gothenburg in July 2022, and gigs with Ghost in Germany in June 2023. In February 2024 their beloved classic album Grande Rock was rereleased on physical formats, featuring a re-worked companion piece with additional guitar, piano and vocal tracks called Grande Rock Revisited.

“If their last album sounded like it wanted to crawl into the corner and die, Deprecipice wants to kill you as swiftly & efficiently as it can.” - Metal Hammer
“...these are songs for when you’re at the end of your rope; when hopeless lyrics and vicious fight riffs make more sense than therapy or promises of better days..." – Decibel
After the resounding success of their highly praised album Deprecipice, the fierce sludgecore band Mastiff have enlisted the help of the Dublin-born, London-based industrial group Tayne to elevate the intensity to new heights on their latest remix release, 'Trapped Inside The Void'. Picture a dark and gritty fusion of a HM-2 guitar pedal, pulsating synths, and rapid-fire drumming reminiscent of Al Jourgensen's signature style, creating a sonic landscape that pushes the boundaries of heaviness and innovation.
Watch the visualiser for 'Trapped Inside The Void' here: https://youtu.be/F8EJ_7-uHag
Order Deprecipice here: https://mastiff.ffm.to/deprecipice.OYD
Comments Mastiff, “We didn’t think it possible that anyone could make Mastiff sound even more abrasive and obnoxious, but it turns out Tayne is even more irresponsible with human hearing than we are!”
The evocative title 'Trapped Inside The Void' was inspired by Mastiff's partnership with the esteemed Nottingham brewery, Black Iris. This collaboration resulted in a robust and flavourful 7.2% NEIPA, brewed with a primary infusion of Citra Cryo hops and enhanced with subsequent dry hop additions of Cashmere and Mosaic Cryo. Check out the beer here.
Adds Tayne, “Mastiff are the purveyors of disgusting music so trying to make them sound heavier was never going to be achievable. We decided to go with a new Beta sequence on this one, we kicked up the “4d3d3d3” and added some “hat wobble” to the track. We are stoked with the results. Hopefully it’s something that people will listen to and say…'now Tayne I can get into'."
From their inception amidst the bleak backdrop of Kingston-upon-Hull in 2013, Mastiff has been unwaveringly dedicated to the pursuit of intensity. The five-piece band seamlessly melds elements of extreme metal, sludge, and hardcore to craft ferociously brutal sonic experiences. Their relentless commitment to innovation ensures that their music remains dynamic, unfiltered, and teeming with raw emotion.
Signing to MNRK Heavy three years ago, Mastiff’s commitment to blunt-force aggression remains untempered. Their 2021 album, Leave Me The Ashes Of The Earth, was described by Blabbermouth’s Dom Lawson as a “horrifying slab of disgust” and “a sustained scream in the face of uncontrollable madness”. Now comes its long-anticipated follow-up: Deprecipice – an album that, somehow, smacks even harder than anything this band have unchained before, produced by longtime collaborator Joe Clayton (Wallowing, Ithaca, Tuskar) at Manchester’s No Studio. The beguiling artwork that runs throughout the album is by Paul Phillips at the award winning True Spilt Milk Designs, another long time collaborator with the band.
Unlike so many of their extreme metal peers right now, though, Mastiff didn’t source this rejuvenated savagery from the anxieties and frustrations of the COVID-19 pandemic. As the lockdowns ended and real life started to resume in 2021 and 2022, Hodge and Lee noticed the spirits of the world around them lifting. Feelings of trauma and isolation were beginning to enter people’s rear-view mirrors – and it was an overcoming that the duo couldn’t relate to. Lee was mourning the loss of his mother, while Hodge realised he was still grieving over the death of his five-day-old son, Isaac, in 2010.
As earnest as it is ferocious, with Deprecipice, Mastiff have made a magnum opus that bleeds with genuine pain.

The band’s most progressive song to date, ‘Will-O'-The-Wisp’, is a beautiful labyrinth of grandiose proportions. An epic tale of many chapters, the song dances through bone-crushing riffs, memorable choruses, and eerie dreamlike sequences. The group are joined by the magical talents of Rohan Sharma (keyboards/programming, I Built The Sky) and Joshua Verco (double bass), forming a barrage of power and force. Additionally, Pranav Roy lends his trombone skills in subtle areas, adding a newfound edge to this monumental track. The Melbourne trio also experimented with a Fender Bass VI guitar for the strumming sections, and a vintage Madeira.
Bassist Toby Peterson-Stewart elaborates, “This song features quite a different sonic sound, when it comes to what we have done in the past, introducing many themes that we haven’t completely explored. This is the first Omnific song to feature a “Guitar”, the Fender Bass VI. It required 6 hands for us to fathom recording a guitar on one of our songs!”
The mythical music video was realised by the acclaimed duo of Jamie McVicker and Declan Blackall (Plini) [The Omnific - ‘Phat Mackerel’, ‘Base Camp’]. Their most expansive feature yet, building an entire visual world made up of dozens of unique virtual environments. McVicker comments, “When the boys first showed us ‘Will-O'-The-Wisp’, we were instantly transported to distant realms, with galloping chorus licks and orb-pondering atmosphere twisting through a near-8-minute runtime leaving us with only one choice. This was a story of wizards three, and The Omnific they would be.” The music video maps a classical fantasy epic, in sync with its sprawling musical arrangement. A darker aesthetic eventuated, inspired by the immersive world of the ‘Lord of the Rings' film series, and the mystical peaks of Skyrim from ‘The Elder Scrolls V’.
The Omnific will be trailblazing their way through Europe & the UK, heading on their first ever summer festival run, alongside their most extensive array of headline shows in Europe to date. They’ll be making highly anticipated debut appearances at festivals; RADAR (UK), Vagos (PT), Brutal Assault (CZ), Arctangent (UK), and Fekete Zaj (HU). Led by their two other-worldly intertwining bassists, Matt Fack & Toby Peterson-Stewart, and backed by flamboyant drummer Jerome Lematua, The Bass Boys will be bringing a full tank of charisma, showmanship, and unbelievable technical performances from down under.
