Finnish industrial metallers Turmion Kätilöt stream new single 'Pulssi'

Finnish industrial metal group TURMION KÄTILÖT have today released their second single ‘Pulssi’ featuring Kasperi Heikkinen from BEAST IN BLACK - another glimpse of their new album Reset (25th October, Nuclear Blast Records). The single coincides with the publication of the band's first autobiography En tahdo unohtaa koskaan (‘I never want to forget’).

MC Raaka Pee comments about 'Pulssi': "You know you're living when you feel your pulse up to your gums. The song arrangement and lyrics were born in one evening without any pre-planning or notes. That night the moon burned my face. This time, the song was kept really simple. I wanted to include a riff that I would have been able to play as a 14 year old. Sort of like 'Smoke On The Water' for many youngsters at the time when they first tried playing the guitar. For me that was the 90s and you can hear that kind of middle school riffing in Pulssi. Works damn well I think! Give it a try yourself!"

He continues about Reset"I would say that Reset is like a bastard son or daughter of previous records - with tasty new spices added to the whole thing. It has everything you could ever want from us and more. One of the special twist of this album is the vocal parts: the fierce screams are counterbalanced by a huge melodiousness - often at the same time."

About TURMION KÄTILÖT:

TURMION KÄTILÖT, the Finnish-singing industrial and electronic metal band hailing from the barren wastelands of Savo, are rapidly becoming a new favourite among open-minded metal fans in the mid-2020s. The odds of their rise to prominence are nothing short of great. Known for their ecstatic and theatrical concerts, TURMION KÄTILÖT invites you to dive into their twisted world of "disco metal." The current line-up features singers MC Raaka Pee and Shag-U, guitarist Bobby Undertaker, bassist Master Bates, keyboardist RunQ, and drummer DQ. Since the early 2000s, this vivid sextet has been delivering a unique blend of electrifying heavy music, characterised by its peculiar, perverted, and catchy style. Their journey includes numerous sold-out concerts, gold and platinum records, and Emma nominations (Finland's equivalent to the Grammys).

TURMION KÄTILÖT's depraved disco ball has also shone beyond Finland. Many fans remember their legendary European tour with PAIN in 2011. In the 2020s, their fame continued to grow, highlighted by their selection as the opening band for NIGHTWISH's sold-out European arena tour in 2022. Now, TURMION KÄTILÖT are ready to unveil their latest creation: Reset. Founding member and main songwriter MC Raaka Pee explains, "Reset is simply the perfect name for our new studio album. For us, Reset is more about taking advantage of everything we've learned over two decades and then adding new nuances to our metallic disco vortex." With twenty years and ten studio albums behind them, TURMION KÄTILÖT continue to push their boundaries. "We have relentlessly raised our own bar with every record," says the band. "Reset is our best album to date, and we simply couldn't be more satisfied."

Reset features all the hallmarks of TURMION KÄTILÖT: twisted synths, underfoot grooves, pounding beats, and cryptic lyrics, all with a stronger musical vision than ever before. The album is described as a "bastard child" of their previous records, with new spices added. The vocal parts, a mix of fierce screams and melodiousness, add a special twist.

"We have gained more courage to explore drastic musical and lyrical angles," the band state. "Sometimes the lyrics and the musical mood seem to come from completely different worlds, but that's exactly what makes the whole thing fascinating. That's what TURMION KÄTILÖT is all about!"

Key tracks from the album include the singles 'Yksi jumalista', 'Pulssi', and 'Sinä 2.0', though the band emphasises that the entire album is a varied entity. "If we had to decide now which new songs to perform at future shows, we would play the whole new album!"

The production of Reset benefits from the powerful sound engineered by keyboardist and producer RunQ in his brand-new studio. The album's sound palette ranges from completely organic to entirely electronic, creating a hugely powerful combination. Reset also offers an interesting opportunity to compare old and new TURMION KÄTILÖT with the song 'Schlachter,' a new German version of their classic 'Teurastaja.' Originally released on their debut album, this updated version features new arrangements and lyrics. While the band remains committed to singing in Finnish, they remain open to future possibilities. "In the future, we can sing in English, German, Swedish, or we may invent our own language. Let's see." MC Raaka Pee concludes with a confident smile, "Trust us, we know what we are doing. For this band, it took twenty years, but we finally know what we are doing. Now we are just going to enjoy the ride. So, if someone is interested in a wild ride on the twisted side, please reset and jump in!"

"a huge breath of fresh air in the world of metal" Kerrang!

"Expect their stock to skyrocket in 2024" Metal Hammer

Innovative musical mavericks Unprocessed have released their most diverse single to date, a three-part concept song, 'Dark, Silent and Complete'. The single comes ahead of their UK/EU headline tour, with many dates sold out or on low ticket warnings.

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/f0-KFx4-yLM

Stream the single here: https://ffm.to/dark-silent-complete

David Levy(bass & cello) commented on the single:“'Dark, Silent and Complete' is a 3-part concept song that revolves around the idea of finding peace in solitude and utter darkness. An inner monologue that leads one towards a nihilistic state of mind, in which no outside factors can influence oneself.

"In the first part (dark) sheer chaos and anger pump through blast beats and fast, progressive riffing, until the silence arrives and moody synths are disrupted by organic orchestral sounds, opening up a soundscape reminiscent of Radiohead or massive attack, building up to the third part (complete), where the whole band comes in for an excessive outburst of emotions.”

'Dark, Silent and Complete' is the band's second standalone single this year, following the hugely dynamic 'Sacrifice Me'. Listen here: https://youtu.be/ivXDVKwzCIw

Guitarist / vocalistManuel Gardner-Fernandeshas also unveiled his stunning new signature model guitar, theIbanezMGFM10-OBL. Unprocessed’s beautifully melodic, technically proficient and at times brutally heavy sound has catapulted them to the forefront of the modern metal scene, having toured as main support to TesseracT across Europe, Polyphia in the USA and sold out countless shows on their first North American headline tour in 2024.

Their latest album ‘...and everything in between’ has been described by publications such as Kerrang! as “An album so forward-thinking that it’s a huge breath of fresh air in the world of metal” KKKK. This is driven in part by their virtuoso guitarist and vocalist Manuel Gardner Fernandes, whose talent for turning the most complex technique into ultra-modern melodies has made him a world renowned flag-bearer for the next generation of bands in the genre.

The German quartet represents a new evolution of futuristic guitar driven metal. 2024 will see the band take on Europe for their first headline tour with a plethora of new music and collaborations to come.

Italian dwarven power metal army WIND ROSE release party anthem 'The Great Feast Underground'

Dwarven power metal warriors WIND ROSE celebrate their fast-approaching album release and tour kickoff with mugs full of beer, delivering the epic party anthem, 'The Great Feast Underground'. Their new album, Trollslayer, will be released on 4th October 2024 (Napalm Records) – the day they begin their biggest tour to date with label colleagues and genre giants Powerwolf, as well as HammerFall

Watch 'The Great Feast Underground' video here: https://youtu.be/q120ExX1WHk

Pre-order Trollslayer here: https://lnk.to/WindRose-Trollslayer

After releasing the catchy Deep Rock Galactic hymn 'Rock And Stone' and the sing-a-long anthem 'To Be A Dwarf', WIND ROSE celebrate the dwarven party of the year, which can be experienced in yet another outstanding official music video. Dive deep into the world under the mountains with 'The Great Feast Underground'.

WIND ROSE comment on 'The Great Feast Underground': “Our 2019 party anthem 'Drunken Dwarves' needed a heir to the throne, and that's how 'The Great Feast Underground' was born. Prepare to raise your mugs, sing along with us and embrace the spirit of the party! We are looking forward to playing this banger live and to see some massive circle pits to it.”

WIND ROSE commence their huge European arena tour this Friday with Powerwolf and Hammerfall. Check online for dates.

WIND ROSE's ultimate dwarven journey continues on Trollslayer.

Trollslayer follows the success of Warfront (2022), which debuted in the Top 10 on the US Current Hard Music Albums chart. Arriving right before their biggest European tour ever alongside Powerwolf and Hammerfall, this album promises to be the perfect blend of signature party anthems alongside select deeper, more serious tracks. Exploding onto the scene with viral appearances on TikTok and amassing almost half a million followers on the platform, as well as almost a million monthly listeners, WIND ROSE have solidified their reputation as a powerhouse in the modern power metal scene.

WIND ROSE comment on the new album Trollslayer“We spent more than two years working on Trollslayer, a new dwarf metal opera that will entertain you with fast riffs, beer and fun. With Trollslayer we didn’t only keep all the key elements of dwarf metal, we also brought back the fast-paced rhythms typical of our previous albums.

"Both Wintersaga and Warfront have had a great impact on our fans, even if they have many differences in style. With Trollslayer we unified all the best features of both albums and we are delivering what we believe is the best dwarf metal experience so far.

"We can’t wait to play some of these new songs live for you, are you ready?!”

Trollslayer starts-off with the epic instrumental 'Of Ice and Blood', setting the stage for the fiery energy to come. Next up is the electrifying 'Dance of the Axes', a potent mix of catchy refrains and guttural growls. It is directly followed by two party anthems, 'The Great Feast Underground' – which overtakes the listener with crazy dwarven drinking rhythms – as well as throwing the gauntlet with the anthem 'Rock and Stone', a party track inspired by space dwarf first-person shooter video game Deep Rock Galactic. The album continues with three deep and catchy anthems – the fast 'Home of the Twilight', the upbeat 'To Be a Dwarf', and the Warhammer-inspired title track 'Trollslayer'. The album concludes with the gripping 'No More Sorrow', showcasing WIND ROSE's ability to weave moments of emotional depth into their music. This track proves that even the mightiest dwarven warriors carry the weight of loss and hardship.

Trollslayer brings the listener into an unforgettable journey through the caves of metal, capturing the epic, medieval spirit of the dwarves.

High Parasite release new single 'Hate Springs Eternal' on album release day

“Gothic metal perfection”

“a phenomenally good album with stratospheric songwriting, lavish arrangements and sumptuous musicality”
9/10 Powerplay Magazine

High Parasite have unveiled brand new single, ‘Hate Springs Eternal’, taken from their debut album Forever We Burn, out worldwide today via Candlelight / Spinefarm

Stream the single and purchase Forever We Burn here: https://highparasite.lnk.to/ForeverWeBurn

The new UK outfit, spearheaded by Aaron Stainthorpe of My Dying Bride, is set to make an appearance this evening at Dark Earth Records in Merseyside, UK, to celebrate the launch of their debut with an in-store signing event. The band will share insights into the creation of their inaugural work, meet fans and conclude the evening with a unique DJ set featuring their personal favourite tracks. Additionally, each purchase of the new album will come with an exclusive print, personally signed by the band.

“Releasing a new album is always an event, but when that album is also your debut, the start of a whole new chapter, it becomes even more of a moment. We’ve been thrilled with the reaction to our music, and we’re looking forward to the future, to writing the different chapters, and we welcome everyone along for the journey, to be a part of it. As we’ve said before, darker music and darker culture doesn’t need to remain in the shadows, and with the release of ‘Forever We Burn’, our torches are lit”High Parasite

To celebrate the release of their debut album, High Parasite will showcase their distinctive brand of darkness with an exclusive album release show, tomorrow, 28th September, at Nightrain in Bradford, the band’s first ever live performance. Prepare to immerse yourself in the raw energy of High Parasite. Tickets available here.

Forever We Burn features 10 new tracks, produced by Gregor Mackintosh (Paradise Lost), who also adds some signature guitar lines; as a body of work, it both delves into the darker recesses of the human condition and heralds the arrival of a new name and a familiar, formidable voice…

The name (an acknowledgement of mankind as parasite-in-chief) is High Parasite; the voice, that of Aaron Stainthorpe

As a revered and founding pillar of doom metal maestros My Dying Bride, with a legacy spanning over three decades, the spotlight will doubtless focus on Aaron’s distinctive profile, initially at least; pull back the red velvet curtains, however, and another force emerges in the form of bassist / vocalist / songwriter Tombs – a key player in the creation of High Parasite as a livin’, breathin’ entity.

Every song bears the indelible stamp of Stainthorpe and Tombs, their collaboration forming the dark, pulsating core of this five-piece ensemble, fleshed out by Sam Hill (rhythm guitar), Jonny Hunter (lead guitar) and Dan Brown (drums).

High Parasite will take their realm of dark music to major venues across the UK and Ireland in October and November in support of Cradle Of Filth. Don’t miss the special Halloween performance at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town on 31st October. Check out the full list of dates below.

Break free from the ordinary and dive into the extraordinary with Half Me’s new EP Opium. This release redefines metalcore by blending innovation with tradition. The EP channels raw frustration with a disposable society, combining bone-crushing heaviness with anguished, soul-piercing vocals. Opium showcases the band's relentless drive to push genre boundaries and marks a bold new chapter in their musical evolution.

Formed in Hamburg in 2018, Half Me - guitarists Chris and Julius, vocalist Chris, drummer Max and bassist Tobias - are one of the latest additions to the Arising Empire roster. Musically, Half Me blend a modern rendition of metal and hardcore with highlights of 90s nu-metal. Pounding riffs and breakdowns are accompanied by brutal, yet sometimes elegant, vocals that all balance together to formulate the band’s own distinctive sound.

In just a few years, Half Me have made an impact in the music scene by self-producing their music and videos, displaying their intensive and energetic demeanour. Debuting with four singles initially, it was their their single 'Exitwound' (featuring Jack Bergin of Void of Vision) that gave the group a breakthrough and landed the band in the spotlight of Knotfest’s Countdown to Oblivion.

Riding the high of their recent success of their debut album SOMA, Half Me's new EP Opium is very much worth the wait.

Oceans release new album Happy & new music video for title track 'Happy'

German nu metal band Oceans release their new album, HAPPY, today.

In celebration of the news, they also have delivered a brand new music video for the title track 'Happy', which you can witness here: https://youtu.be/3_u60_ZDUsM

The band's third album, HAPPY comprises 11 new songs, including the two previously released singles 'Slaves to the Feed' and 'Spit', and is available now. The album thematically deals with the topics of mental health and the negative phases in life. The album name HAPPY functions more likely as a destination state. The band gives free rein to their emotions and describes in their usual musical rigor everything that goes wrong in this world and needs to be improved in order to finally reach the state of mind 'Happy'.

Bass player Thomas Winkelmann comments:

"WithHAPPYwe go harder and more uncompromising than ever before. In the sometimes very interchangeable mishmash of metal/deathcore bands out there, we tried to create our own sound without imposing limits on ourselves in the process."

Buy/stream the new album HAPPY here: https://oceans.bfan.link/happy

Just in time for their new album release, Oceans are going on tour. As support for labelmates Septicflesh, the nu-metallers will be playing several shows all through Europe.

From October 3rd to November 2nd, catch OCEANS along with SepticfleshEquilibrium and Scar Of The Sun as they blaze through 28 electrifying concerts across 13 countries.

About:
Germany’s Nu Death powerhouse Oceans are back with unprecedented ferocity since their debut EP in 2018. Brace yourself for their third album HAPPY, a colossal juggernaut that once again showcases the band's ability to seamlessly fuse Nu Metal, Death Metal and Post Rock into their own signature sound. The days of subtle introversion seem to be over. As the world faces one crisis after another, Oceans are channelling their frustration at the state of the world into a bold statement against the influence of social media on society, while staying true to their mission of promoting mental health awareness. This band has never sounded as angry as they do now, and these 11 songs are impressive proof of how well that emotion suits them. Surely this is also what convinced Australia's finest, keyboardist MISSTIQ and Josh Collard from Earth Caller, to take part as feature artists on two tracks. OCEANS’ previous album Hell Is Where The Heart Is put the band on the road with international acts like Blind Channel in 2022, as well as supporting Annisokay in 2024. It’s safe to say that HAPPY will ignite massive mosh pits on their upcoming extensive European tour with Septicflesh in October 2024.

Technical metalcore newcomers Eschalon release new single 'Delirium'

Fast emerging tech-metalcore band Eschalon have released their new single / video, 'Delirium', a frenzied exploration of a mind teetering on the edge of psychotic collapse.

Produced by Jake Ten, watch the 'Delirium' video here: https://youtu.be/CJEhaOanmSo

Plunge into the depths of 'Delirium'. This high-intensity track channels the raw, unfiltered chaos of grappling with the brink of sanity. 'Delirium' offers a visceral glimpse into a psyche battered and torn by life's relentless assaults.

The band comment: "Lyrically, the song paints a harrowing picture of desperation and inner turmoil, where the narrator is trapped within a self-imposed prison of madness. Writhing under the weight of his own thoughts, he battles the urge to seek help, paralysed by the fear of social stigma and the terrifying consequences of revealing his inner demons. As the lines between sanity and mania blur, he longs for the release of a final breath to end his torment."

Catch the band on the following dates:

2024
Nov 02: Rabid Fest, Oxford (with Evile & more)
Nov 09: Hometown Fest, Cambridge, The Six Six Bar (with Exist Immortal & more)
Nov 23: Norwich, The Waterfront (with Vast Slug & more)
Nov 29: Luton, The Castle (with Swarm6ix & more)

In celebration, HERIOT have also unveiled their focus track, 'Opaline'. The band comment: "'Opaline’ addresses the need to accept that sometimes you must sit with the truth alone, however isolating it may be, until others are ready to understand it. It emphasises trusting your instincts but forgiving yourself for the times you couldn’t. This is the first song we've released with predominantly clean vocals and is in a direction we've not experimented with before."

Devoured by the Mouth of Hell was recorded produced by HERIOT's Jake Packer with Josh Middleton (Sylosis, Architects) and mixed and mastered by GRAMMY Award-winning Will Putney (END, Fit For An Autopsy, Better Lovers), with additional engineering by Justin Hill (SixTh, Betraying the Martyrs).

HERIOT will perform their only headline show of 2024 tonight at Bristol's Exchange. An intimate album release show, the event sold out in a matter of days.

HERIOT's debut album will continue their ascendancy as the pre-eminent new force in the UK heavy scene. The album follows 'Siege Lord' and late 2023's 'Soul Chasm', the first two glimpses of new material following their signing with Century Media and support shows with Architects in summer of 2023.

HERIOT's debut EP Profound Morality (2022, Church Road Records) catapulted the quartet into the global spotlight, with praise worldwide and a debut, sold-out, headline tour across the UK. The band have since supported Lamb Of God, Thy Art Is MurderRolo Tomassi, and performed to packed tents at Download Festival, 2000trees, Wacken Open Air, Bloodstock, Mystic Festival and many more, gathering a legion of fans in the process. They since followed Profound Morality with the ferocious standalone single 'Demure' (February 2023, Church Road Records).

Fully-focused and with a razor-sharp edge, the awe-inspiring double-vocal attack of Jake Packer and Debbie Gough is all-conquering; the titanic support of Erhan Alman (guitar) and Julian Gage (drums) rock-solid.

HERIOT have deservedly been grabbing attention with all four pairs of hands, weaponising metallic sludge and hardcore, unholy levels of distortion, speed and gut-punching talent. Elements of NailsKnocked LooseCode Orange, and Vein.fm combine and collide to exhilarating effect, creating a sound that is truly groundbreaking, fully worthy of the notice the band are achieving.

In their short recent history HERIOT have caught the attention of NMEPitchfork, The Guardian, Metal Hammer UK, Rock Sound, Brooklyn Vegan, Kerrang!, Revolver, and Knotfest, among many others, heralding the quartet as "one of the most promising young bands in modern metalcore", and "probably the best new metal band in Britain".

HERIOT are:

Jake Packer - Vocals/Bass
Debbie Gough - Vocals/Guitar
Erhan Alman - Guitar
Julian Gage - Drums
