Modern metal stars TETRARCH stream new single 'Best Of Luck' ahead of album release

Ahead of tomorrow's release of their blistering third album, The Ugly Side Of Me, modern metal stars TETRARCH have dropped their fourth and final single, entitled 'Best Of Luck'. The standout track showcases the stellar riff artistry of Jackson Guitars’ first ever female signature artist Diamond Rowe.

Diamond Rowe offers an inside look at the lyricism behind 'Best Of Luck': “'Best Of Luck' was such a fun song to write. I think Josh [vocals, guitar] and I got together and wrote this song in only a few hours and it has ended up being a favorite of those who have heard the album already.

"The title of this song has kind of a funny story. I remember when we were younger and just starting out we would get rejection emails left and right from several different people within the industry. A lot of them used to sign their emails 'Best of Luck' or 'Best of Luck in the future' and it was always funny because clearly they
didn't wish us well at all, haha! Fast forward to now, when we have accomplished so much of what a lot of those people said we never would already, so this is kind of our 'Best of Luck' back to them. No hard feelings, just a funny tongue in cheek kind of thing. Maybe it’s us just being the smart asses that we always are."

TETRARCH recently announced their first ever European tour. Catch them on the following dates:

Among its perfectly crafted 10 tracks, new album The Ugly Side Of Me cuts like 90s industrial-injected single 'Live Not Fantasize' – which premiered via SiriusXM Liquid Metal upon its release alongside Diamond Rowe’s Jackson Guitars signature launch – thrill with intense electronic flourishes, quick riffage and dynamic, spine-tingling guitar solos. Tracks like album opener 'Anything Like Myself' showcase the hypnotising, crushing metallic brilliance of the band while flirting with Josh Fore’s intense screams and Ruben Limas’ punching drums, while the likes of “Best Of' Luck' stand tall with the rhythmic basslines of Ryan “Dooms” Lerner and Rowe’s inventive riff artistry. Profound melodic bangers like 'Erase' and 'Cold' are injected with intricate guitar solos, while 'Headspace' and 'The Only Thing I’ve Got' thrust the vital, brooding elements of TETRARCH into the forefront. Each track succeeds with lyrical themes of facing our own darkest criticisms – embracing the healing notion that what we feel others may see as our worst traits actually define the greatest aspects of our individuality.

Metal is practically begging for its next wave of genre frontrunners, and with one listen it’s clear – TETRARCH lead the charge.

Kaonashi’s music is difficult to define. It combines death metal growling, unexpected time changes and technical flourishes that bring to mind nineties metalcore legends like Coalesce and The Dillinger Escape Plan. However, there isn’t anything dated about the band’s sound — and in fact, there’s something inherently progressive about the Philadelphia trio’s unique brand of music. Although the act was started by vocalist Peter Rono and guitarist/vocalist Alex Hallquist in 2012, things really solidified for Kaonashi in 2016 when drummer Pao joined the band and they started touring all over the country, eventually gaining the interest of Equal Vision Records who released the band’s sophomore full-length Dear Lemon House, You Ruined Me: Senior Year in 2021.

“[Conceptually], this album answers any questions anyone has ever had about the story,” Rono says, adding that the band’s 2024 EP collection - The 3 Faces Of Beauty: A Violent Misinterpretation Of Morgan Montgomery/A Second Chance At Forever: The Brilliant Lies From Casey Diamond - helps further expand on this compelling narrative. “It was written to be heavy, chaotic and overwhelming,” he summarises.

Since 2021, Kaonashi have toured relentlessly with everyone from The Fall Of Troy to Protest The Hero, a fact that has made the band sound tighter and more ferocious on I Want To Go Home.. “I think [touring] has influenced the record because we’ve been playing further out than we ever have to the most people we ever have and [getting] the craziest reactions we ever had this far from this band,” Rono explains. “I can’t help but take that into consideration when I’m writing because it's really inspired. Before I was just trying to prove to people that we were worth listening to and now we have a dedicated audience, so I want to provide the best music that I can.”

That said, it hasn’t always been easy for Kaonashi to be a band that exists on the outskirts of so many genres — and at times they weren’t even sure if their message would find an audience. “I’ve been saying this a lot on this tour to summarise the band, but people hate what they don’t understand and I think that’s been extremely polarizing,” Rono explains. “It hasn’t been this simple, easy trajectory, it’s been love and hate. It’s been one or the other and I wouldn’t have it any other way. The people who do understand it genuinely support us and the people who don’t actively dislike us,” he adds with a laugh. “So I embrace it and I love it and I’m glad it’s been that way… it’s been equally easier and harder.”

While it would be easier for Kaonashi to lean into an established subgenre, I Want To Go Home. sees them further pushing their musical boundaries and expanding their sound in the face of this admiration and criticism. So what keeps them inspired to continue working toward their unified sonic vision? “I don’t just go in and write a song, I go into it with aim and intention and try to emulate these things that I love,” Rono responds. “It just so happens that a lot of the things I love are polarizing artists that are creative and expressive for no other reason than just to make music that they like.”

Whether it’s guttural screaming or fingerpicked guitars, there isn’t any musical idea that’s off limits to Kaonashi, and that phenomenon is ultimately baked into the DNA of the band. “It really just comes from chasing the same thing I’ve always loved and what got me here in the first place,” Rono continues. “That hasn’t changed and it’s been like a through line of this band from 2012 until now: Extreme art, extreme aggression and originality. I’ve seen the easy way — and that’s just not the way I want to go.”

Orbit Culture release debut single on new label Century Media: 'The Tales Of War'

Today Sweden’s Orbit Culture mark a new beginning with 'The Tales of War', their first single with new label Century Media.

Watch the menacing video by Riivata Visuals that shows the band braving a raging storm here: https://youtu.be/Y5SpGQMoaUU (5pm BST premiere)

The band comment: "'The Tales Of War’ marks the beginning of a new chapter for Orbit Culture. While other songs evolved and shifted during the writing process, this one stayed exactly as it was from the very start. It captures everything that defines Orbit Culture - the cinematic elements, the build-up, the verses, and the chorus. From the beginning, we knew this had to be the first song to introduce this new era.

"On almost every show we've ever played, we've used these long, cinematic intros to set the mood - but this time, we figured: why not bake that feeling straight into the song itself? Even as we move forward and leave parts of our past behind, we needed a bridge to the future - and this track became that bridge.”

After supporting Trivium and Bullet For My Valentine earlier this year the band are gearing up for European summer festivals including Download Festival, and supporting In Flames on selected shows:

6 June 25 (SE) Norje - Sweden Rock Festival
15 June 25 (UK) Donington - Download Festival
17 June 25 (FR) Toulouse – w/ In Flames
18 June 25 (FR) Lyon – w/ In Flames
19 June 25 (BE) Dessel - Graspop Metal Meeting
20 June 25 (DE) Leipzig – w/ In Flames
26 June 25 (NO) Oslo - Tons Of Rock
28 June 25 (FIN) Helsinki - Tuska
13 October 25 (J) Loud Park Japan

Hailing from the small town of Eksjö, Sweden (located between the revered metal cities of Gothenburg and Stockholm), the quartet (guitarist and vocalist Niklas Karlsson, guitarist Richard Hansson, bassist Fredrik Lennartsson and drummer Christopher Wallerstedt) have grown into a global force, melding together riffs that are equal parts thrash, death metal and industrial with arresting hooks and a layered atmosphere that invites comparison to Gojira, Metallica and Static-X while carving out something that is uniquely their own.

Orbit Culture’s 2023 album Descent and their subsequent EP release The Forgotten topped many year-end lists in 2023, including Metal Hammer who described the album as: “a formidable entwining of modern metal’s most effective and exciting strands into an impressive milestone.” Exhaustive worldwide touring and a steady stream of crowd-pummeling festival slots across the globe, have set the stage for something much larger.

Tallah reveal heaviest song yet 'A primeval detachment'

One of modern metal’s most unpredictable forces, Tallah, have dropped their latest single, 'A primeval detachment', from the forthcoming album Primeval: Obsession // Detachment, out 5th September via Earache Records.

A sonic gut punch that heralds the start of the album’s second act, the track barrels into the darker depths of the record with no warning and absolutely no mercy.

Listen to 'A primeval detachment' here: https://earache.lnk.to/APrimevalDetachment

The accompanying music video captures Tallah’s live insanity in all its sweat-drenched, limb-flailing glory. Shot in an underpass packed with fans, the video showcases the band in their natural habitat - raw, unhinged, and erupting with volatile energy like Mt. Vesuvius on steroids. At one point, frontman Justin Bonitz is seen hanging upside down from the ceiling mid-scream.

Watch the music video here: https://youtu.be/i_a5Hnhowr8

Pre-order Primeval: Obsession // Detachment here: earache.com/tallah

Simultaneously maximalist, raw and unfiltered, 'What We Know' sets the tone for what’s to come - an album unshackled by rules or expectations. Blending acoustic guitars, trap-metal 808s, string quartets, talkbox solos and more into one furiously cohesive piece, the track is a mission statement for the chaos ahead.

“This is not only the heaviest entry on the record, but potentially the heaviest in our entire discography,” the band state. “It’s relentless, top to bottom. Acting as the opening track of Act 2, the intro to the song really sets the tone. The pretty string quartet from Act 1 is falling apart, and the album takes a much darker turn. The final breakdown of this track is going to be a highlight at live shows, guaranteed.”

Elaborating on the music video, Max Portnoy states: “Shooting this video affirmed one thing for me… We have the best fans. So many people rolled up to this random underpass on short notice. We had our friend pull up with a truck full of scaffolding, and we weren’t sure if the shoot would be shut down after 15 minutes of setting up, but our fans jumped in to help set up and tear down everything as fast as possible. Legitimately could not have done this video without them.”

In true Tallah fashion, the band have also launched The Primeval Game, a playable extension of the album’s concept designed in collaboration with Enzo Interactive. The immersive web-based experience drops players into the alien world that Primeval: Obsession // Detachment takes place in, and is updated monthly with new story content, song teasers, and hidden easter eggs.

Play: https://primevalgame.com

The band comment: “The ‘Primeval’ Game is a way to fully immerse yourself into this album. You get to interact with the world we’ve created and follow the story first hand. We’re updating the game every month, with new content that furthers the story, along with tons of album and song teasers and easter eggs scattered around. It’s a really fun and unique way of promoting an album that I’m surprised more bands aren’t doing.”

Primeval: Obsession // Detachment is Tallah’s third full-length—an uninhibited, ferocious concept record tracked entirely live with no click and no edits, just pure, unadulterated sonic chaos. Pre-order bundles are available now here: https://earache.com/collections/tallah

Primeval: Obsession // Detachment is a concept album rooted in narrative and boundless in scope. Set on an alien planet, it follows Ana, a nurse, and Sheelah, an assassin—two strangers pushed to the brink of their morality by the same mysterious group of beings. Their journeys spiral through tests of belief, identity, and loyalty, building toward a finale laced with twists, dualities, and mirrored consequences.

Architect of the exceptional and intricate world-building Tallah have become known for on each of their albums, vocalist Justin Bonitz shares: Primeval: Obsession // Detachment is a concept album taking place on an alien planet. The story follows two characters, Ana (a nurse) and Sheelah (an assassin). Both are approached by the same group of beings, who ask the main characters to each perform a task that will test their values and push their morals to the limit before ending with twist after twist. The album explores morality, duty, personal beliefs, duality, and understanding one's place in society.”

Tracked live in Michigan with longtime producer Josh Schroeder, the record captures Tallah in their purest, most unhinged form. No click. No edits. No polish. Just instinct and execution. It also sees founding member, Max Portnoy, making a major creative shift from drums to bass and Justin recording the vocals for the whole album in one, continuous take.

Providing further context, Max shares: “For me, this album is Tallah finding our voice. During the writing process, no boxes were in place. No rules were set. Whatever felt uniquely us, that was what made the cut. I'm not sure how to even label this record's sound beyond 'Tallah'. It's weird. It's experimental. It's driving, and energetic. It's raw. We recorded live, every instrument at the same time, with no click. That's how we play shows, so why would we record differently? This album also marks my first recording dedicated to bass. I translated my drum knowledge to a new instrument and it was a huge creative breath of fresh air for me.”

For vocalist Justin Bonitz, the experience was equally intense. "I practiced for months and was able to record the entire album in one huge, continuous take with no edits or redos or anything! And I was recovering from pneumonia! Nobody is gonna believe me! It was honestly the highlight of my entire vocal career. I was unsure if I could pull it off, but I went into the booth, grabbed an SM57, turned off the lights, and whatever happened happened. I think it feels more intimate and naked with all the flaws and imperfections, which is perfect for the raw, organic sound of this album."

From mirrored track titles to reversed riffs, Primeval: Obsession // Detachment is Tallah at their most deliberate and deranged. It’s a labyrinthine listen made for close listening and repeat immersion. As with everything they do, the chaos is crafted, and the madness is methodical.

Primeval: Obsession // Detachment arrives 5th September via Earache Records.

Emerging from Pennsylvania in 2018, Tallah fuse the percussive force of second-generation drummer-turned-bassist Max Portnoy with the unpredictable dexterity of vocalist and viral phenom Justin Bonitz and the phenomenal guitarist duo of Derrick Schneider and Alex Snowden to form a sound that’s part brutalist nu-metal, part theatrical meltdown, and entirely their own. What began as a raw homage to the early-2000s metal they were raised on—Slipknot, Korn, Linkin Park—has since evolved into something far stranger and far more singular.

After making waves with their 2020 debut Matriphagy, a twisted concept album soaked in trauma and noise, the band were hailed by Knotfest as delivering “one of the best metal releases of the year” and by Metal Hammer as “leading the charge on the new wave of nu-metal.” The follow-up, The Generation Of Danger (2022), saw them push their hybrid sound further into chaos—earning millions of streams, high-profile festival slots, and nominations at both the Heavy Music Awards and AIM Independent Music Awards.

But it’s on album three, Primeval: Obsession // Detachment (out 5th September 2025 via Earache Records), that Tallah truly shatter what’s left of the mould. Decamping to Michigan to record the entire project live with longtime producer Josh Schroeder, the band abandoned edits, clicks, backing tracks, and rules. What remains is pure instinct—feral, volatile, and unrelentingly human.

To date, Tallah have clocked up 29.7 million Spotify streams and 6 million YouTube views.

Hiroe (Pelagic Records) reveal new single 'Dancing at the End of the World'

Hiroe, the new darlings of the American post-rock underground, have revealed their new single 'Dancing at the End of the World', taken from their forthcoming debut album, Wield, due 20th June via Pelagic Records.

Watch the new video here: https://youtu.be/_Fe5lnpjXXI
Pre-order Wield here: https://orcd.co/hiroe

Both powerfully melodic and heavy, Wield shows the Philadelphia-based quintet mastering their craft, of creating compelling melodies that sound larger than life.

On 'Dancing at the End of the World', the group comment: "Though seemingly contrasting, "dancing" and "the end of the world" are brought together to symbolize our shared human capacity to transform pain and vulnerability into something profound and meaningful when facing overwhelming adversity. 'Dancing at the End of the World' represents an act of defiant optimism to find hope in the face of hopelessness. It's a conscious choice to find light in darkness and not be consumed by despair, even when all hope seems lost, even when it feels like the end of the world."

2022 saw Hiroe burst onto the scene with an explosive debut EP full of soaring anthems and sublime soundscapes. Combining the sonic expansiveness of Deftones with the dynamic heaviness of bands like Isis and Caspian, Hiroe immediately already figured out how to make the most majestic sounding post-rock early in their career. "Our first album, Wrought was a statement of creation," explains principal songwriter Eric Kusanagi (guitars).

For the recording of Wield, Jill Paslier moved from bass to guitars, with Brian Kong (guitars), Jon Seiler (bass) and Dan Sagherian (drums) joining to complete the lineup. Produced once more by Mario Quintero (Spotlights) Wield capitalises on everything the band learned in the creation of its predecessor, adding to it a new focus on textural intricacies and compositional detail.

“We wanted to show a larger range of musical themes on this record,” continues Eric. “You’ll hear us dive into some synth work, some piano work, some really interesting effects that Mario helped us dial up.” Wield as a result packs in a huge range of details, which reveal themselves over repeated listens.

Nevertheless, Wield is still an affair of instant gratification for fans of guitar driven post-rock. From the soaring leads of 'Tides' to the epic finale of 'I’ve Been Waiting For You All My Life', Hiroe show they’ve upped their game in every department, but especially that which tugs at your heartstrings.

Wield presents the brave new future we all need in these confusing times. A new American frontier on which we can build our wildest dreams and our most daring ambitions.

JINJER drop video for fan-favourite 'Fast Draw'

Ukrainian modern metal powerhouse JINJER have dropped a crushing new music video for 'Fast Draw', a standout track from their critically acclaimed latest album, Duél. Featuring explosive live footage from their recent European tours alongside metal legends Sepultura, as well as highlights from last summer’s festival circuit, the video offers a front-row seat to JINJER’s blistering live energy and commanding stage presence.

Watch the official video for 'Fast Draw' and experience the unrelenting power of JINJER - live and unleashed - here: https://youtu.be/coHXjuT9Fu0

Purchase Duél here: https://lnk.to/Jinjer-Duel

Renowned for their genre-defying sound and electrifying performances, JINJER continue to rise as one of the most dynamic forces in today’s metal landscape. The band spent 2024 on the road with Sepultura as part of the iconic group's farewell world tour, and 2025 has already seen them bring their ferocity to stages across Asia and Australia. This summer, JINJER will storm North America as direct support for Babymetal, with additional high-profile festival appearances set for Download UKGraspop Metal Meeting, and more.

For latest album Duél – which features multiple music videos with multi-millions of combined views to date and broke into the charts at #2 US Hard Music Albums, #6 US Current Rock Albums, #2 CAN Hard Music Albums, #3 France Metal, #7 UK Rock & Metal and beyond – the band once again collaborated with accomplished producer Max Morton, who co-produced, mixed and mastered the album. This new masterwork lives up to JINJER’s reputation as metal visionaries, proving that they defy barriers of influence while charging a path entirely of their own making. This is proven with songs like 'Rogue', 'Green Serpent' and 'Dark Bile', conjuring astonishing heaviness unlike ever before. Followers of world-class screamer and multifaceted singer Tatiana Shmayluk will revel in her display of unrelenting power and gripping emotional delivery as early as album opener 'Tantrum' , while cruel stunners like 'Fast Draw' and 'Duél' showcase the acclaimed technical craftwork of drummer Vlad Ulasevich, guitarist Roman Ibramkhalilov and bassist Eugene Abdukhanov.

Eugene Abdukhanov, JINJER bassist commented on the new album: “This album was the longest songwriting process we’ve ever had and it took almost two years to complete. We worked very hard with every free minute we weren’t on tour, recording demos over and over again and always searching for the perfect sound for guitars, bass and drums. It was also the first time that Tatiana did vocal pre-productions, so it’s safe to say that none of our releases were so well thought out and calculated as this one. It pulverises the boundaries of the modern progressive metal genre but still remains sophisticated, exciting and extreme all at the same time. We took up the challenge to expand our musical horizons even wider than before in order to cement Duél to be the next step in JINJER‘s musical growth and hopefully the evolution of metal music in general.”

Gaupa release new single 'Ten Of Twelve' and announce new mini-album FYR

Acclaimed progressive stoner rock powerhouse GAUPA have released their brand new single 'Ten Of Twelve', an appetiser for the group's upcoming 4-track mini-album FYR, due out digitally on 4th July via Nuclear Blast Records

FYR includes the band's previous single, 'Heavy Lord', which was unveiled in December 2024 and met with high praise, while Vinyl and CD editions (via Magnetic Eye Records) also feature the physical-formats-only track 'Sömnen / Febersvan (Live at Monkey Moon Studios, 2023)'.

Since the release of their self-titled EP in 2018, Sweden’s GAUPA - which translates as ‘lynx’ in English - have continued to pave new ground within the stoner and psychedelic scene, building their own unique cosmos defined by enchanting lyrical surrealism and mind-altering sound.

In 2020, their debut album Feberdröm pushed them into the international spotlight with its outstanding blend of progressive metal, doom, stoner and folk, steered by the entrancing vocal of frontwoman Emma Näslund. Just one year later, they found their label home at Nuclear Blast Records.

Following the arrival of 2022’s Myriad, with the track 'Exoskeleton' reaching over a million streams on Spotify (the EP’s Febersvan now has over 4 million), GAUPA went on to deliver countless unforgettable performances with appearances at festivals including Sweden Rock, Hellfest, Wacken, Mystic and Desertfest, as well as tours with heavyweights such as Uncle Acid And The Deadbeats, Blood Ceremony and Graveyard.

Now, they’ve reached a turning point in their journey. After former co- guitarist Daniel Nygren left in 2024 to focus on family life, GAUPA found themselves at a standstill, having to relearn how to orchestrate the band without one of its core members. In the summer, they began writing their first full offering in three years, a four-track mini album titled FYR, a play on words with multiple translations meaning “lighthouse”, “to set something on fire” as well as the number “four” in Swedish.

The four-track mini album marks GAUPA’s fourth release, as well as the start of their next chapter as a four-piece band. However, despite their newly slimmed-down line-up, FYR is anything but slight; with the help of new mixing engineer Karl Daniel Lidén, it serves as their heaviest material to date. Recorded in the autumn of 2024 in Svenska Grammofonstudion, Göteborg and Estethuset studios, Falun, FYR is a genre-bending journey through enthralling psychedelia, groove-laden stoner rock and heavy prog metal.

Showcasing more of Näslund’s playfully perplexing and surreal lyricism, FYR loosely explores the concept of time, “what is real, what is not, and what is a dream”, additionally inspired by science fiction novels, nature and animals.

Later this year, GAUPA will continue to cement themselves as live extraordinaires, playing festivals such as Stoomfest in the UK, Krach Am Bach in Germany and Motocultor in France.

'Death of Me' revolves around the themes of betrayal, feeling trapped and inner conflict. Lyrically it depicts a struggle between wanting to break free and knowing you probably wouldn’t, even if you could. There is a clear, almost desperate, plea and need for salvation but also a push and pull between giving in to the destruction and hoping for a release.

The band comment: "It was one of the later songs we wrote for the EP, and we played around with lots of ideas for the melody in the verse as we wanted something quite rhythmic but still melodic and catchy. Once we had this melody, albeit with very different words, we all couldn’t stop singing it days, even weeks, later so we knew it was the one.

"This is the first new song Häxan fans will hear since our debut album release in 2020, so we hope they will see and love the band’s and our sound's evolution. It’s still Häxan. Still big riffs, big choruses, but bolder, heavier, and bigger than ever."

Produced by Grammy nominated Romesh DodangodaHäxan's new EP showcases the band’s evolution, blending rock and metal influences - bigger, bolder and more intense. From the uncompromising title track and first single 'Death of Me', Häxan delivers big riffs, big vocals and driving energy, setting the stage for what’s to come.

Recorded at Longwave Studios with the same passion and fire that fuels their high-energy live shows, Death of Me captures the essence of a band that has made waves on major festivals such as Download, Bloodstock, and Planet Rockstock, international stages such as the Monsters of Rock Cruise Miami and Malmo Rock Festival, as well as sharing the stage with the likes of Foreigner, Phil Campbell and the Bastard Sons, and Florence Black.

You can also see Häxan live at the following:

06/09 - Just Push Play Festival, Bury St Edmunds
03/10 - Y Muni Pontypridd (supporting Phil Campbell)
