Tallah drop creature feature-inspired music video for new single 'as fate undoes'

As part of the ever-growing alien world concept of their upcoming album Primeval: Obsession // Detachment (5th September, Earache Records), Tallah have carved out space for some pure, unapologetic fun with the music video for their new single 'as fate undoes'.

The new clip from the American nu-core unit sees them channelling classic monster movies and 1970s television into their most deliberately playful visual treatment yet. Complete with custom puppets and epic monster battles, the new video exhibits the kind of B-movie charm that would make Vincent Price proud.

The new video transforms Tallah's alien world concept into something part horror homage, part Saturday morning fever dream. While the band's previous videos captured their feral live energy and conceptual darkness, 'as fate undoes' reveals a different, cosmic horror side of their creative DNA.

Bassist Max Portnoy, who directed the video, shares: "'as fate undoes' is heavily inspired by old monster movies and 1970s TV shows like Land Of The Lost. We haven't done a tongue in cheek, humorous video before, but always joked about it, and decided to send it for this single, since it felt right for this song. After making the video, it was probably the most fun we've had at a video shoot. And now we have puppets of ourselves, so that's cool."

Speaking about the track itself, Max continues: "The live strings we recorded for this record are on display prominently with this track. The song was mainly written around this violin melody I wrote one night. Once that idea was cemented, it turned into what I feel is a hit song. It's got one of the most replayable choruses that makes you want to bounce. It's fun. It's dark. It's very much Tallah at our core, all wrapped into 3 minutes."

The track itself maintains the raw, unedited approach that defines Primeval: Obsession // Detachment. The album was recorded live in Michigan with producer Josh Schroeder using no clicks, no edits, and no safety nets. Like its three predecessors 'What we know', 'A primeval detachment', and 'augmented', 'as fate undoes' also ties directly into the album’s layered sci-fi narrative. The concept follows two characters, Ana and Sheelah, on a morally destructive journey across an alien world. Fans can dive deeper into the lore through The Primeval Game, a playable story-world that’s updated monthly with new clues, song teasers, and narrative expansions. Explore the game, built in collaboration with Enzo Interactive at primevalgame.com

Primeval: Obsession // Detachment arrives 5th September via Earache Records. The album stands as Tallah's most ambitious and uncompromising work to date. Weaving sci-fi storytelling together with deliberately imperfect performances, Tallah prove that human instinct still has power in an increasingly artificial landscape.

Emerging from Pennsylvania in 2018, Tallah fuse the percussive force of second-generation drummer-turned-bassist Max Portnoy with the unpredictable dexterity of vocalist and viral phenom Justin Bonitz and the phenomenal guitarist duo of Derrick Schneider and Alex Snowden to form a sound that’s part brutalist nu-metal, part theatrical meltdown, and entirely their own. What began as a raw homage to the early-2000s metal they were raised on—Slipknot, Korn, Linkin Park—has since evolved into something far stranger and far more singular.

After making waves with their 2020 debut Matriphagy, a twisted concept album soaked in trauma and noise, the band were hailed by Knotfest as delivering “one of the best metal releases of the year” and by Metal Hammer as “leading the charge on the new wave of nu-metal.” The follow-up, The Generation Of Danger (2022), saw them push their hybrid sound further into chaos—earning millions of streams, high-profile festival slots, and nominations at both the Heavy Music Awards and AIM Independent Music Awards.

But it’s on album three, Primeval: Obsession // Detachment (out 5th September 2025 via Earache Records), that Tallah truly shatter what’s left of the mould. Decamping to Michigan to record the entire project live with longtime producer Josh Schroeder, the band abandoned edits, clicks, backing tracks, and rules. What remains is pure instinct—feral, volatile, and unrelentingly human.

To date, Tallah have clocked up 29.7 million Spotify streams and 6 million YouTube views.

INTERCOURSE announce new album and stream new single

Connecticut’s self-deprecating noise rock entity INTERCOURSE will unleash their crushing new full-length, How I Fell In Love With The Void, on 12th September via Brutal Panda Records.

Today, the quartet also share the official video for the album’s opening track 'The Ballad Of Max Wright',  directed by Nathaniel Shannon. Watch the full video here: https://youtu.be/Ju6mNg9IZIA

INTERCOURSE vocalist Tarek Ahmed comments on 'The Ballad Of Max Wright' video:

“I fell into a heavy Alf binge on tubi and ended up googling the cast where I learned Max Wright hated being on the show, mostly due to his being resentful over being a Broadway-calibre thespian who was now most famously known for playing the straight man to a muppet. To me it was prime Intercourse song material. Around this time we also made a shirt with him on it and when I posted it my friend, Nathaniel Shannon, replied to a post of said shirt saying he owns an Alf costume and we should do a video. Fast forward two years later and the song's written / recorded so I just hit him up and told him to run with whatever he wanted. His treatment was Surviving The Game with Alf which was cool with us. He nailed the vibe 100% and we couldn’t be happier with the video. The dude who plays Max Wright kills it, total immersion!!”

Additionally, INTERCOURSE will tour the US in September alongside Nerver. All dates can be found here: https://linktr.ee/IntercourseCT

“I have no life. I don't fucking do anything else. I don't have any hobbies. I don't play video games. I don't do fantasy football. I'm just obsessed with making music and writing.”

That’s INTERCOURSE vocalist Tarek Ahmed explaining how the acclaimed Connecticut noise rock band has averaged a release per year since forming in 2013. From their self-titled debut and 2018’s Everything’s Pornography When You’ve Got an Imagination to 2023’s Halo Castration Institute and last year’s Egyptian Democracy EP, INTERCOURSE have kicked against the pricks, power brokers and pissants who make America “great” while tempering their outlook with a self-deprecating look inward.

Which brings us to How I Fell in Love with the Void. Ahmed and his bandmates - guitarist Sean Prior, drummer Caleb Porter and bassist Pete Stroczkowski - spent more time and money on their fourth full-length than any of their previous releases. “Usually we record in a basement home studio, or they’re done super quickly,” Ahmed says. “This time, we figured it was a really good investment to book a full week of studio time and challenge ourselves to write better songs.”

In fact, Ahmed ended up rewriting his lyrics three times. “I f*cking wrote my ass off, and then I do this thing about two months out where I'm like, ‘Everything I wrote sucks, so I'm going to rewrite all the lyrics.’ Then a month before recording, my wife and I decided to split, so I tried to punch up the lyrics and make them funnier by throwing some divorce stuff in there. But I think I made it more depressing.”

Marital bliss aside, the lyrical themes on How I Fell in Love with the Void aren’t dissimilar from those on INTERCOURSE’s 2016 EP, Pissing Into the Abyss, which features a cover illustration of a woman fucking a giant insect while an alien watches. “On the new record, there’s definitely a lot of talking about the void and that emptiness that a lot of us try to fill with food, booze or sex,” Ahmed explains. Pissing Into the Abyss was about being so comfortable with the void that you’ll just piss there. Unfortunately, I’m super acquainted with it. But once you realize that nothing will ever fill the void, it will no longer rule over you.”

How I Fell in Love with the Void was recorded by Chris Teti (The World Is A Beautiful Place And I Am No Longer Afraid To Die) at Silver Bullet Studios in Harwinton, CT. It was mastered by George Richter (Thy Will Be Done). The photograph on the album cover was shot by Sherilyn Furneaux (Portrayal Of Guilt) and features exotic dancer Clementine

Ultimately, How I Fell in Love with the Void is about being on the outside looking in. “We’re music for weirdos and freaks,” Ahmed says. “I grew up as the only Egyptian kid in a little white town. I’m an outsider, and we make music for outsiders. Every time we play a faraway place that we haven’t been to before, there’s always one person there that has followed us for years and is there specifically for us. They are always the weirdest person in the room, and I love that. Those are my people.”

INTERCOURSE formed in 2013 and have been annoying ever since. With the lofty (or pointless, depending on who you ask) goal of ditching the pretension of noise rock and fusing it with the immediacy of hardcore, they’ve managed a release a year since 2014. 2023’s Halo Castration Institute helped the band reach a new level of notoriety with positive reviews across the board. With the release of a last year’s EP Egyptian Democracy, and now How I Fell In Love With The Void the band is sure to become the high watermark for annoying adults who dress like they’re 17 and simply will not quit.

INTERCOURSE have played sold-out shows with the likes of Chat Pile, Deadguy, The Red Chord and The World is a Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid to Die. The quartet have been featured on notable websites Decibel, Lambgoat, New Noise Magazine and were recently featured on The Needle Drop’s top 15 EPs of 2024.

Swedish metalcore powerhouse ADEPT rise again, ushering in a fierce new era with their long-awaited fifth studio album, Blood Covenant, out 24th October 2025 via Napalm Records. Marking a bold new era after nearly a decade of silence Blood Covenant captures the band at their most intense, dynamic, and emotionally resonant to date across 11 tightly crafted tracks.

Following 'Heaven' and 'You', ADEPT have also unleashed their explosive new single 'Ignore The Sun'.

'Ignore The Sun' provides a blistering master class in Gothenburg-style, melodic death metal riffing set against pummeling breakdowns. A mixture of oppressive growls and captivating cleans enhances the catchiness, reminiscent of ADEPT’s early years. 'Ignore The Sun' is accompanied by a mesmerizing visualiser, giving fans a taste of the electrifying energy they will let loose all over their upcoming anniversary European tour.

ADEPT comment on 'Ignore The Sun': "With ‘Ignore the Sun’, we really wanted to capture the full spectrum of what drives us — from relentless, riff-driven speed and that raw Scandinavian metal intensity, to heavy metalcore breakdowns that are made to fuel the pit. But it’s not just about power; there’s also this epic sense of grandeur and a lot of raw emotion behind it. The lyrics are deeply personal and hit hard, designed to connect with listeners on a real level, just like the music."

Formed in the early 2000s in Trosa, Sweden, ADEPT helped shape the early European metalcore landscape, rising to prominence through passionate songwriting, high-octane shows, and raw emotional energy. Following their fiery comeback at Core Fest 2024 and numerous explosive festival performances, the band now unveils Blood Covenant, redefining their sound with sharpened aggression, cinematic scope, and lyrical depth.

The album announcement arrives on the heels of ADEPT’s recent announcement of their 20 Year Anniversary Tour, marking two decades of explosive live shows and heavy-hitting anthems. The tour features an extensive run across major cities in Europe and the UK, kicking off in Berlin, Germany on 27th November.

UK dates:

LOWDOWN release riff-laden new single ahead of debut album release and Bloodstock performance

Vocalist and guitarist Dave Runham comments on the single: "The third single, 'SLEEP' serves as a philosophical conduit, examining the notion that we are the architects of both our dreams and nightmares. It delves into the idea that our dream experiences can extend beyond mere imagination, materialising into a tangible and attainable reality."

Drawing inspiration from the crushing grooves of Black Label Society, the soaring melodies of Alter Bridge, the raw aggression of Pantera, and the ominous weight of Sabbath, LOWDOWN fuse doom-laced chords with searing, down-tuned riffs with pinch harmonics ricocheting through the air like battle cries. Their arrival wasn't just noticed; it was felt.

Debut album ALPHA OMEGA is built on the idea that everything - beginnings and ends - come back to us. As Runham explains:"The album ALPHA OMEGA was crafted from the understanding that everything starts and ends with us (you). You are your beginning and end."

24/10 - Rock City - Nottingham, UK

About the new single, Glenn commented: “'Voice In My Head' tells the story of what’s goin’ on in my subconscious mind. It’s a song that most definitely needed to be written. Very therapeutic. We all have “this voice”. Observe, recognize and be a witness, & let go…”

Vocalist/bass guitarist/songwriter Glenn Hughes is a true original. No other rock musician has carved such a distinctive style blending the finest elements of hard rock, soul and funk. That astonishing voice is his calling card. He's known as a singer's singer. Stevie Wonder once called Glenn Hughes his favorite white singer.

After a nine years hiatus as a solo artist, Glenn Hughes is back with Chosen, his brand-new solo record: an album which presents Glenn in his most hard rockin’ fashion. An explosive record that offers Glenn Hughes at its absolute best with a state-of-the-art album, both from a songwriting and production standpoint. A truly captivating return.

Glenn Hughes, a native of Cannock, England, absorbed all kinds of influences, including early British hard rock, The Beatles and, most importantly, American soul and R&B. The sleek Motown sound from Detroit and the gritty Stax/Volt sound from Memphis left their mark on him.

Glenn Hughes first found success in the early '70s with the band Trapeze, before joining Deep Purple in 1973 during a pivotal lineup change that introduced him and David Coverdale to the group. Despite initial scepticism, the revamped band silenced critics with the release of Burn (1974), a powerful album that revitalized Purple’s sound and remains a classic.

During this era, the band headlined the iconic California Jam in front of over 300,000 fans, toured the world aboard their private jet The Starship, and released two more studio albums, Stormbringer and Come Taste The Band, before disbanding in 1976.

Glenn's first solo album Play Me Out was released in 1977. He joined former Pat Travers guitarist Pat Thrall to form Hughes/Thrall, which released an acclaimed self-titled album in 1982. Throughout the '80s and '90s, Glenn Hughes made countless guest appearances (both credited and un-credited) as a vocalist, bass guitarist or songwriter on other artists' albums. The endless list includes - among others - Gary Moore, John Norum, and Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath.

Since 1992, Glenn has started a prolific solo career with a dozen studio albums where he explored all the different sides of his songwriting and influences: from hard rock to funk and more contemporary sounds. He collaborated - among others - with such musicians as Chad Smith (RHCP), Dave Navarro, and John Frusciante.

He also founded or took part in some amazing musical alliances such as California Breed (with Jason Bonham and Andrew Watt), Black Country Communion (with Joe Bonamassa) and The Dead Daisies.

Glenn has collaborated with Robbie Williams on his new single 'Rocket', which was released on 22nd May 2025. The track also features a collaboration from Tony Iommi and will be the first time Glenn has been featured on a record with Tony since 2005, when they released 'Fused' together.

Glenn Hughes has also recently joined forces with Satch Vai, a new collaboration by legendary guitar icons Joe Satriani and Steve Vai, by writing and singing on their new single 'I Wanna Play My Guitar'.

A Killer's Confession release new single and announce new album

Hot off the heels of the Machines Vs Monsters tour with Static-X, Gwar & Dope, A Killer's Confession have unveiled their new single 'FACTS', and announced the release of their new album Victim 2, out September 19th via MNRK Heavy.

Watch the lyric video for 'FACTS' here: https://youtu.be/RVGhuUKxexg

Pre-order Victim 2 here: https://akillersconfession.myshopify.com

To kick off the release of the new single, the band will be performing at three US festivals this month:

July 16 - Cadott, WI @ Rock Fest
July 19 - Grand Rapids, MI @ Upheaval Fest
July 20 - Mansfield, OH @ Inkcarceration

As the frontman and mastermind for A Killer's Confession, Waylon Reavis has delved into the light and dark sides of mankind on albums like The Indifference of Good Men and Unbroken. But it is his current Victim trilogy where he delves deeper into that concept and which truly lives up to the band’s name. The new Victim 2 (MNRK Heavy), the group’s fifth album, continues the story of a serial killer who wants to bring horrific criminals to justice. But, as he's learning, there are consequences for his misguided deeds, even if he thinks they are the right thing to do.

“I write this stuff for people to understand that we all have these thoughts,” Reavis says. “Like the devil's advocate – you’ve always got that devil on your shoulder, or that impulse, that little scratch on the side of your head that says, I want to do that. I've always been intrigued with that.”

After his booking agent Andrew Goodfriend planted the seed of the album’s concept in his mind, Reavis found further inspiration in the 2001 horror movie Frailty, in which the “God’s Hand” serial killer murders people that he believes to be demons and that he is doing God’s will. The antagonist of the Victim trilogy follows a similar path. In Victim 1, he went after people who had committed one of the Seven Deadly Sins, particularly those preying on young, innocent victims. In this sequel, he is reveling in his murder spree too much and faces a crisis of conscience.

Like the psyche of this album’s antagonist, the sonic realm of A Killer’s Confession is also split into two different worlds, but for artistic reasons. Guitarist/drummer Dusten “Dusty” Boles and vocal producer Evan McKeever are Reavis’ studio songwriting partners, while his touring band features different members. The frontman likes to oversee everything in the creative process of the band from the studio to the stage, and he works with the people he think will thrive in each environment and deliver the best work to the musical project.

“I don't like doing the same thing over and over,” Reavis admits. “I like to experiment. I like to try to invent something new, take something that you know and mix it with modern metal. I'm not trying to create a new genre, but I like to be challenged and hear new things. If it rings in the ears and it makes you bob your head, it's good. It don't matter what style it is. I think a true artist should be interested in expanding themselves and where they can do anything they want. That's where AKC really excels.”

The Ocean release farewell Audiotree session for current line-up, new album recorded soon

Leaning on their paleontological concept album series Phanerozoic, Berlin-based The Ocean (Collective) have announced the "end of an eon… and the beginning of a new", following the departure notes of long-term vocalist Loïc Rossetti and guitarist David Ahfeldt.

Founding member and primary songwriter Robin Staps comments:

"Needless to say, 2024 was a tumultuous year. While playing the best shows of our career, we had reached a dead end. Loïc has been in the band since 2009, Paul since 2014, Mattias since 2015, and David since 2017.

"Touring takes a heavy toll on body & mind. It can be the best thing in life, but it can also be draining. It’s a huge commitment.  We have played over 120 shows per year since the end of the pandemic, and counting studio time & travel days, that’s far more than half of our lives.  From that angle, the fact that we’ve been able to do this together, with a firm group of committed people for more or less a decade against the odds of life, is pretty incredible."

Vocalist Loïc Rossetti comments:

"Over time, our visions and creative paths naturally drifted. Without diving too deep into it, I've realised I’m no longer meant to be part of this particular dynamic. No drama, just heading in different directions.

"The Ocean will carry on, and I wish them well. I’m proud of what we’ve built. Big thanks to Robin, my bandmates, every crew member, my wife and family and everyone who helped make this journey possible."

To celebrate this recent incarnation of The Ocean’s lineup, an Audiotree session is being released today, recorded in Chicago last summer as part of their From Nothing series.

Video: https://youtu.be/eBbBRomMDQc
Stream: https://lnk.to/ATFN-TheOcean

Four songs from four different albums from the past 15 years, it is a homage to the individuals that were the faces behind the live silhouettes of The Ocean Collective for the past decade, and to be seen as a proper send-off to close this recent chapter of the band’s (much longer) history.

Freak Valley Festival and Hellfest at the end of June were the final shows with the current lineup - and also the first shows with new drummer Jordi Farré.

The Ocean continue to work on new material - the writing process of the collective's upcoming 11th studio album is now complete, and the band will enter the studio later this year to record.

The band confirm:

"Rest assured: this band is far from dead.
The Ocean Collective will begin a new chapter in 2026.
We would like to thank you all for being a part of our journey throughout all these years, it means the world to us. We are looking forward to this next chapter, and can’t wait to share new music with you."

LIV SIN release new single 'Run'

Swedish modern metal force LIV SIN have released their second single, 'Run', from forthcoming album, Close Your Eyes, due out 8th August via Seek & Strike. Inspired by the chilling true story of a Mexican cult, ‘Run’ channels its dark narrative into a fierce, adrenaline fuelled metal assault.

Fronted by the formidable Liv Jagrell (ex-Sister Sin), LIV SIN fuse aggressive riff-heavy intensity with soaring melodies, steadily forging their path on the global metal scene.

Watch the video for 'Run' here: https://youtu.be/winavDE0lhM

Pre-save here: https://orcd.co/livsincye

LIV SIN comments: “For this song, the word run kept popping back into my head, so I immediately started to write around that word. At that time, I (Liv) listened a lot to a podcast about different cults and I got inspired by a Mexican cult led by Silvia Meraz. She got arrested in 2012 for killing three people in her neighborhood, some of them only kids, as a human sacrifice to Santa Muerte. It is so hard to imagine how anyone can do such a horrible thing, but it does make a good story for a song. The riff and drum ideas started out from inspiration of a stompy and solid Rammstein groove, making it sound massive and groovy, so people want to jump around to it.

"The video for this song is a stylish performance clip with quick editing that hopefully induces a stressful feeling invoking a need to get up and RUN! We hope you enjoy it."

A dynamic five-piece born from the ashes of Sister Sin, LIV SIN deliver a sound steeped in modern metal, melodic hooks and uncompromising intensity. Since their formation, the band has built a reputation for soul-stirring live shows and an authentic connection with fans.

Alongside Liv Jagrell (vocals) are Per Bjevoluk (drums), Daniel Skoglund (bass), Sonny Larsson (lead guitar) and Ante Mäkelä (rhythm guitar), each bringing unique musical influences and personal passions to the table, from painting and folk music to animal rescue, yoga and music education. Their collective energy is channeled into creating cathartic anthems for a global audience.

Rooted deeply in Swedish culture, several members of LIV SIN are dedicated to preserving the nation’s rich tradition of folk music, community art and craftsmanship. Sonny is an accomplished folk guitarist and painter, while Ante works in cultural education, championing the music and arts institutions that have helped define “the Swedish music wonder". Their love for traditional sounds and storytelling often seeps into their songwriting and creative aesthetic.

The upcoming album began to reveal its dark heart last month with the release of the powerful title track, 'Close Your Eyes'.  Confronting the grim realities of human trafficking, the track features a striking guest vocal performance from Lars Palmqvist of Scar Symmetry. Mixed by acclaimed producer Tue Madsen (Babymetal, Meshuggah), the album promises a heavy, unflinching sonic journey. Watch the video for ‘Close Your Eyes’ here

Driven by purpose and powered by riffs, LIV SIN are not only forging new paths in heavy music, they’re carrying pieces of Sweden’s cultural soul with them along the way.
