Vocalist Amy Montgomery comments: "‘Into The Blue’ is empathy, anger, passion and an observation of senseless loss of life."

PREYRS are the brainchild of Belfast rock artist Amy Montgomery and drummer/producer Michael Mormecha. Fusing raw alternative rock energy with the weight of metal, the quartet's music is an electrifying clash of aggression and euphoria, darkness and uplift, chaos and control. Elements of artists as disparate as Nine Inch Nails, Chelsea Wolfe, Sonic Youth, and Julie Christmas combine to delirious and heady effect.

Busking on the streets of Belfast from the age of 15, Amy Montgomery met multi-instrumentalist Michael Mormecha a few years later and they’ve been working together ever since. Both songwriters in their own right, Michael fronted renowned Irish post-hardcore outfit Mojo Fury and worked as a producer for artists including The BonnevillesMojo Fury and Joshua Burnside. They're joined as PREYRS by longtime guitarist Nolan Donelly and new bass player Ciarán McGreevy.

Known for electrifying live performances, PREYRS made their UK festival debut at Bloodstock Open Air this August, as well as appearing at Stendhal Festival in Ireland. Nominated as 'Best Live Act' and 'Best Artist' at the Northern Ireland Music Prize, Amy’s undeniably fierce and captivating frontperson energy has been her secret weapon often described as ‘otherworldly’ or ‘a force of nature’. For those seeking the epic, the healing, the aggressive and the unrelenting pulse of alternative rock and metal, PREYRS are it.

PREYRS will be supporting punk legends New Model Army across Europe this winter.

Venues release new single 'Duality'

The wait is over: German modern metal force Venues have unleashed 'Duality', the very first taste of their upcoming album cycle and the beginning of an audacious new era. Set against the backdrop of a dystopian world where the last living tree becomes a symbol of survival, 'Duality' introduces the narrative, sound, and aesthetic vision that will define the band’s most ambitious chapter yet.

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/wA2jtTQvz7Y

Stream here: https://arisingempire.com/duality

Fusing pulsating synths, cinematic soundscapes, and crushing riffs, 'Duality' is the blueprint of Venues 2026 – futuristic, emotional, and unapologetically unique. Vocalist Lela Gruber delivers a breathtaking performance, shifting seamlessly between vulnerability and ferocity, while Robin Baumann’s visceral shouts slice through the chaos with surgical precision. Together, they embody the dual nature of the record: hope and despair, beauty and destruction, fragility and power.

“This time, we wanted to connect everything – sound, story, look, emotion,” says Lela. “'Duality' is the first step into that world.”

'Duality' marks the start of a carefully crafted rollout where each new single unveils another chapter of the story – a cinematic universe told through music videos, visuals, and sound that blend seamlessly into one immersive experience. With their upcoming album due in summer 2026, Venues are not only reinventing themselves but pushing the boundaries of what heavy music can be.

Venues are not just a band. They are a movement. And 'Duality' is where it all begins

The Veer Union announce new album and release 'Sunk Your Teeth In' single

Vancouver’s alt-metal titans The Veer Union return stronger than ever with their brand-new single 'Sunk Your Teeth In', kicking off the pre-order campaign for their upcoming full-length Reinvention (20th February via Arising Empire).

Known for blending punishing riffs with soaring, emotionally charged hooks, the band once again delivers a track that feels both massive and unforgettable — a storm of melody, aggression, and raw intensity. Following a string of successful singles including 'My Empire', 'Sea of Fear', and 'Caught in the Crossfire', the new track sets the tone for what promises to be the band’s most powerful chapter yet.

The band made an instant impact with their breakout hit 'Seasons', which cracked the Top 10 on Active Rock Radio in both the U.S. and Canada. From there, they built an impressive career defined by perseverance, creativity, and constant evolution, selling over 150,000 albums, amassing more than 200 million streams worldwide, and landing 12 singles in the Billboard Rock Top 40. Their 2018 album Decade II delivered four Billboard-charting singles, including the standout 'Living Not Alive', which peaked at #21 and surpassed 20 million streams. Viral success followed in 2019 with their reimagining of Halsey’s 'Nightmare' on Covers Collection Vol. 1, which hit #25 on Billboard and racked up more than 10 million streams, while the Quarantine Collaborations project in 2021 continued their momentum with three Billboard-charting singles and over 9 million streams in its first three weeks. 2022’s Manifestations solidified their staying power with over 16 million streams and a successful North American tour, while Covers Collection Vol. 2 (2023) and Welcome to Dystopia (2024) reinforced their creative range and critical acclaim.

The Veer Union are preparing to unleash Reinvention, a record that not only reflects their journey but pushes their sound into bold new territory.

GAEREA announce new album Loss and stream new single 'Hellbound'

After plunging into aquatic darkness with their August single 'Submerged', Portugal’s masked GAEREA are today 'Hellbound', with their new single.

Watch them burn like fire in another video from Tre Film here: https://youtu.be/9N5Ge0-9xQM

GAEREA are nothing short of a beautiful enigma rooted in musical extremity and utter passion. In under a decade, the masked collective, born in the Portuguese town of Porto, have navigated countless darkened shades of metal to arrive at their fifth album and Century Media debut, Loss.

Loss will be released 20th March 2026, and you can pre-order here: https://gaerea.lnk.to/Loss-Album

'Hellbound' is a vision of GAEREA at their most uncompromising - a song that resonates with listeners drawn to dark, emotional, and confrontational music.

The band comment: “’Hellbound’ is an intense and cathartic track, diving deep into themes of guilt, heartbreak, and self-destruction. With searing riffs and visceral vocals, it captures the tension between vulnerability and aggression, love and betrayal. Vivid imagery of fire, thorns, and restless ghosts amplifies its raw emotional weight, making it both haunting and empowering.”

Loss is the sound of GAEREA continuing to define and redefine itself, incorporating elements of the band’s post-black metal past with the sharpened sonics and haunting melodies. It finds GAEREA emerging from creative chrysalis and bursting into something as engaging as it is unexpected: There’s singing. There are choruses as catchy and passionate as the best rock and metal songs. Yet, through the emotionally charged din, it’s unmistakably GAEREA.

Recent months have seen GAEREA bringing their energised and expressionistic live show to stages all over Europe, headlining to sold out crowds as well as festivals including Czech’s Brutal Assault, Belgium’s Alcatraz and Germany's Summer Breeze. In October and November, GAEREA will join labelmates Orbit Culture on the Swedish upstarts' headline tour of the UK and Europe for their upcoming Century Media debut, Death Above Life.

The Devil's Trade stream new single 'Your Pieces Scattered'

Acclaimed post-doom artist The Devil's Trade has unveiled 'Your Pieces Scattered', the powerful new single taken from his new album Nincs Szennyezetlen Szép, out 7th November via Pelagic Records.

The Devil's Trade mastermind Dávid Makó comments: "This song tries to close what the first song 'The Sleep That Dragged You away' started. It tries to close the unclosable. Almost daily, the amount I can or want to shar about what is behind Nincs Szennyezetlen Szép changes. If this song had been released a week ago, I might have spoken about the stages of grief. Today, I can only add that there are days when it seems like we have taken steps back months or years in processing our traumas, and often it brings a pleasant, familiar feeling from our childhood, alongside the shame caused by weakening. There is no linear progress, and because of this, perhaps no complete healing either, but these days are important too. Tomorrow will be a little easier again."

Catch The Devil's Trade live:
22.10.26 - Album Release Show Budapest Hu

Dávid Makó began The Devil’s Trade in 2014. His early solo work, often performed with only an acoustic guitar or banjo, quickly garnered attention for its emotional depth and stark beauty. Drawing on Appalachian folk, dark Americana, and Hungarian folk traditions, Makó's music has been praised for its haunting vocals, minimalist arrangements, and profound emotional honesty. Recently, and especially in this new release, elements of post-metal and doom have taken Makó's sound into new, exciting territory, whilst retaining his unique intimacy.

Nincs Szennyezetlen Szép, translated as “there is no uncontaminated beauty”, is a record forged in grief and the unflinching confession. Fans of The Devil’s Trade will immediately recognise Makó’s signature elements: the deep, rugged baritone, the uncanny ability to transmit raw emotion and melodies drenched in melancholia. With his fifth studio album however, Makó reclaims the heaviness of his early years, pushing his sound into new, atmospheric territory.Nincs Szennyezetlen Szép is much darker and heavier and more complex than anything I have done”, says Makó.

Working within a larger, more dynamic canvas, Makó's confessional power is met with metal-wrought anguish, reborn as an intimate, haunting journey toward authenticity. Nincs Szennyezetlen Szép is an elegy to his late mother. “Between the death of my mother and the birth of my son we only had two weeks" explains Makó, and this complexity of emotion is felt in every beat and breath of the album. Survival, suffering, isolation, the endless human turmoil that hangs over our shared and personal grief. All this is expressed defiantly, through a voice that is devastatingly vulnerable and resilient.

While The Devil’s Trade remains a deeply personal, largely self-driven project, Nincs Szennyezetlen Szép also reflects the input of key collaborators. "Just like with (previous album) Vidékek vannak idebenn, my old friend Gaspar Binder helped me write and record the drums and I wrote and played everything else. Szabolcs Szűcs, our local legend engineered the album and my best friend Márton Szabó helped us as a producer, or I love to use the term: musical conscience. This time I dared to ask another friend of mine, Nikita Kampard (Der Weg Einer Freiheit) to be the mastering engineer and it makes me so grateful that he said yes", states Makó.

Nincs Szennyezetlen Szép is not an easy listen, nor was it meant to be. It is a sincerely painful document of mourning and the myriad of emotions that grip us, from bitter rage to catatonic sadness. It is a testament to the resilience found in surviving and continuing through all, a reminder that "there is no uncontaminated beauty".

German prog metal trio The Hirsch Effekt announce new album, Der Brauch, and stream title track

Since their formation The Hirsch Effekt have carved out a unique niche in heavy music, embracing limitless possibilities. Yet, despite - or perhaps because of - their elusiveness, the band has captivated a devoted audience.

Today, the trio from Hanover, Germany, announced their seventh studio album, Der Brauch, due 30th January 2026, via Long Branch Records. In conjunction with the album news, the band are giving fans a taste of the new work with the release of the title track.

While earlier works, despite their diversity, were still labelled “metal albums,” this new record explores paths first hinted at on the multi-layered second album, Holon : Anamnesis - the same album regarded as one of the best German-language records of all time. Der Brauch can be seen as a return to that pivotal point - and simultaneously as a bold step forward. Drummer Moritz Schmidt doesn’t entirely forgo blast beats, but the record demands a new heading. In the end, though, there is only one truth: it unmistakably sounds like The Hirsch Effekt.

MØL announce third album DREAMCRUSH with haunting new single and upcoming headline tour

MØL have announced their forthcoming album, DREAMCRUSH, set for release on 30th January 2026 via Nuclear Blast Records. On their third studio record, the Danish alt-metal visionaries push the boundaries of creative expression even further. DREAMCRUSH tempers the band’s sharpest, most jagged edges with soaring alt-rock hooks, while exploring the tension between dreams and reality, the ways aspiration can sustain or overwhelm. By steeping even their most aggressive moments in melody, MØL deliver their most explosive and affecting work to date.

Ahead of the album, MØL have unveiled their first single ‘Garland’, accompanied by a cinematic video directed by longtime collaborator John Bradburn and filmed on location in Denmark. Starring acclaimed actor Kim Sønderholm alongside the band, the video unfolds as a stark and haunting reflection of the album’s central themes.

Check out the video for ‘Garland’ here: https://youtu.be/Jq94LUIUJws

Listen to 'Garland' here: https://moel.bfan.link/garland

Pre-order and listen to DREAMCRUSH here: https://moel.bfan.link/dreamcrush

Drummer Ken Lund Klejs comments on the new single, "’Garland’ emerges as the first single from DREAMCRUSH. The song represents the broader scope of the album, yet only hints at the full journey, its shape and texture revealing fragments of the evolving sound and lyrical depth that define the record.

“With each release, MØL are seeking to weave powerful imagery into both sound and vision, forging a sense of coherence across the singles while expanding the themes of DREAMCRUSH. To bring this vision into focus, MØL once again worked with filmmaker John Bradburn, whose eye and creative spirit we fully trust to illuminate the album’s core ideas.”

Following on from the critically acclaimed Jord (2019) and Diorama (2021), MØL’s latest opus sees their sound continue to evolve as they embrace new horizons - as a band and as individuals. Drawing on influences including My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau Twins and Smashing Pumpkins the album explores recurring themes of belonging, resilience and finding home within oneself. DREAMCRUSH arrives with a renewed sense of confidence, acceptance and vigour.

Guitarist Nicolai Busse adds: DREAMCRUSH is an album about our hopes and aspirations being both a source of comfort and dismay. It’s about finding home within yourself and coming to terms with reality when the pillars of our lives are shook. The album is deeply personal to us and inspired by events from our lives that we are certain also resonates with other people."

Recording took place over several months in Frederik Uglebjerg’s Aarhus studio, allowing the band to shape the album gradually. Vocalist Kim Song Sternkopf explores his baritone register, delivering lyrics in Danish and English that reflect personal introspection and a revisitation of past events. Guitar solos by Nicolai Busse elevate the emotional journey, while abstract, Emil Nolde-inspired artwork by Daniel Owen at Nemesis Design (Sleep Token, Architects, BFMV, TesseracT) and photography by Rolf Meldgaard visually complement the album’s exploration of dreams, reality and emotional reconciliation.

Amid clouds of loss, grief and existential reflection, DREAMCRUSH offers moments of hope, a reminder that the capacity to keep dreaming endures.

Fans can experience the album live as MØL embark on a headline tour across Europe and the UK throughout February 2026 with support from Tayne and Cold Night For Alligators, promising shows that translate the album’s intensity into a visceral, unforgettable performance.
