The trio have also announced their 2026 headline tour. Catch Exploring Birdsong at the following dates:

Sep 23 Glasgow Classic Grand
Sep 24 London Islington Assembly Hall
Sep 25 Bristol Strange Brew
Sep 26 Manchester Gorilla

Exploring Birdsong are also headlining London's St Pancras Old Church tonight, 5th November, and 6th November. After the first date sold out in two minutes, the band added a second. This also sold out in minutes - underlining the breathless excitement building around the group.

The band comment: "'Romanticise' is centred around a relationship plagued by toxicity. Written from the perspective of the perpetrator, lyrically it depicts the needless and unnecessary frustration & anger shown towards their partner.

"The chorus had to be catchy. This was written first, and as the writing process developed and lyrical content was formed, we wanted the breakdown section to match the chaotic and aggressive nature of the lyrics.

"The opening line to the chorus is a sarcastic jab at the protagonist’s partner; ‘You could romanticise a car wreck at eighty’ - it illustrates their frustration at a tenaciously positive outlook, and is followed by ‘would you anatomise the way I’m behaving?’, shifting the blame from themselves as if their behaviour is being overly scrutinised when questioned.

"The song is written - unfortunately - from personal experience."

The alt-pop trio, centred on Lynsey Ward’s stunning vocals, showcase a richer and more expansive element with their newest effort – a mature evolution from the organic rawness of their piano-led roots. Despite the shift in sound first signalled with the acclaimed 2024 singles 'The Collapse', 'Weight in Gold', 'All I Lack', and 'Stitch', the three-piece haven’t sacrificed any of the emotional intimacy or genre-blending beauty that sets them apart.

The voice of Lynsey Ward (also of Espera), mixed with the talents of Jonny Knight (bass & keyboards) and Matt Harrison (drums) help forge a truly unique approach to songwriting and modern heavy music. Catching the ears of fans worldwide, Exploring Birdsong will perform two headline shows at London’s famed St Pancras Old Church on November 5th and 6th – gigs which sold out in a matter of minutes.

The dates follow the trio’s two 2024 headline showcases in Manchester and London, also both sold out. Previously the band have supported Katatonia and Sleep Token as well as a main stage appearance at RADAR and Euroblast festival. Straddling pop, progressive rock and uncategorisable genre-blending beauty, the band are mostly unplaceable, but 'Romanticise' suggests flashes of Everything Everything’s inventiveness, the dramatic flair of Kate Bush, and the synth-heavy intensity of Enter Shikari – whilst remaining uniquely Exploring Birdsong.

Exploring Birdsong are:
Lynsey Ward - vocals, piano
Jonny Knight - bass, synthesisers
Matt Harrison - drums, percussion

Future Static return with huge new single 'There's Nowhere Else To Go'

Australian breakthrough heavy act Future Static return with their highly anticipated new single / video 'There's Nowhere Else To Go' via Wild Thing Records, the first new music from the band since their highly acclaimed Liminality album.

Watch the video to 'There's Nowhere Else To Go' here: https://youtu.be/ZStViphi_gw

Stream / purchase here: https://orcd.co/theresnowhereelsetogo

After a two years of international touring, including a headline EU/UK tour, festival appearances and supporting the likes of Babymetal and Electric Callboy in Australia, Future Static mark a new era with their latest single ‘There’s Nowhere Else To Go’. Building on the foundations of their #1 Australian AIR-charting 2023 debut album Liminality, the band have crafted a refined sound and renewed purpose. An expansive mix of heavy, melodic, technical and chaotic, ‘There’s Nowhere Else To Go’ strikes a new depth musically and lyrically for a band that’s ready to push the extremes whilst staying true to their flow.

The band comment on the single: “‘There’s Nowhere Else To Go’ is an analysis on the duality of criticism from inspiring motivation and personal growth to the destructive inducement of self-hatred and insecurity.  Whilst we’ve all experienced the feeling of not being good enough it’s important to believe in yourself despite the constant judgmental commentary especially from the worst critic: your own self."

‘There’s Nowhere Else To Go’ was produced, mixed, and mastered by Christopher Vernon (Windwaker, The Beautiful Monument), accompanied by the music video of fabled director Colin Jeffs (Make Them Suffer, Alpha Wolf).

Melbourne five-piece phenomenon Future Static are carving their position among the one of the most exciting forces in modern metalcore. Following the success of their #1 Australian AIR-charting debut album Liminality (2023), the band have rapidly risen through Australia’s heavy scene and beyond, earning critical acclaim from Kerrang!, Metal Hammer, and Triple J, whilst touring extensively across Australia; including supporting Babymetal, Electric Callboy, Jinjer, Enter Shikari, Don Broco and TesseracT. International touring has included EU/UK headline shows, supporting Ankor and Humanity’s Last Breath, and multiple prestigious European festival appearances; including Sziget (HU), Radar (UK), Reeperbahn (DE) and Euroblast (DE).

Blending technical precision with melodic chaos, Future Static's sound is both striking and emotionally raw - a reflection of personal struggle, resilience, and self-discovery. Led by their breathtaking lead vocal tandem, a magical chemistry of electrifying frontwoman Amariah Cook and bassist Kira Neil, and backed by the band’s swagger and blazing fury, Future Static have taken Australia’s live circuit by storm.

Their latest single 'There’s Nowhere Else To Go' marks a bold new era revealing a refined, mature, and fearless evolution. Fierce and sonically ambitious, Future Static are ready to take their unique brand of emotive heaviness to the world.

Future Starting are:
Amariah Cook - Lead Vocals
Kira Neil - Bass / Vocals
Ryan Qualizza - Guitar
Jack Smith - Guitar
Jackson Trudel - Drums

Lord Of The Lost collab with Infected Rain on new single 'Would You Walk With Me Through Hell?'

LORD OF THE LOST have revealed the third single cut from the upcoming new full-length, OPVS NOIR Vol. 2, out 12th December 2025 via Napalm Records. On 'Would You Walk With Me Through Hell?', LORD OF THE LOST team up with Infected Rain, adding an extra edge to the genre-fluid masters’ opulence. With Lena Scissorhands and Chris Harms, two of the most recognisable singers in the genre meet to create multi-layered soundscapes out of gentle clean vocals, powerful growls, and melancholic moods.

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/pGw3G3HCtaQ

Pre-order OPVS NOIR Vol. 2 here: https://lnk.to/LOTL-OPVSNOIR

Following the recent success of last month’s co-headline tour with FEUERSCHWANZ, LORD OF THE LOST are currently in the middle of a tour of the UK and Ireland. Next year, the band will tour across the USA, Canada and Australia, before returning to Europe for the recently announced ‘TOVR NOIR 2026’, with shows in 19 countries.

Chris Harms commented on 'Would You Walk With Me Through Hell?': “It was a great challenge to create a love song with such a powerful and positive message, yet with such a dark title and an even more sinister instrumental. And working with Lena, her versatile voice and her intense charisma, from the first idea to the final result, was a great journey both musically and personally!”

Lena Scissorhands adds: “I’m incredibly honored and excited to have been invited to feature on this song with LORD OF THE LOST. I loved every minute of working on it, and I think the collaboration turned out very unique and its darkness is just so beautiful. I can’t wait for the world to hear it!”

Catch LORD OF THE LOST with support from UK metal outfit Skarlett Riot and the synth-rock pioneers JULIEN-K (featuring Ryan Shuck and Amir Derakh of ORGY) on the following dates:

04.11.25 UK - Belfast / Limelight 1
05.11.25 UK - Dublin / Academy
07.11.25 UK - Bristol / The Prospect Building - Crane
08.11.25 UK - London / Electric Ballroom
09.11.25 UK - Southampton / Engine Rooms

With OPVS NOIR Vol. 2, the genre-fluid six-piece delves deeper into their melancholic take on unraveling their innermost selves and adds a hopeful new layer to the wonderfully dark panorama that was opened up by OPVS NOIR Vol. 1.

Following their enchantingly colourful 'Blood & Glitter', which earned them participation in the final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 and a #1 chart entry in their native Germany, Lord of the Lost reinvent themselves yet again. With OPVS NOIR Vol. 2, another 11 heartfelt songs join the three-part cycle, tying seamlessly into Vol. 1

Once again produced by frontman Chris Harms in the historic Chameleon Studios, it is yet another stirring example of the Hamburg-based band’s unparalleled versatility.

Opening with dark yet catchy 'The Fall From Grace', Lord of the Lost immediately showcases their way with grand ballroom choruses weaved into grave melodies that will continue to sit enthroned on all the varied tracks until the last note of the ballad 'Sharp Edges'. Joining in are guests ranging from scene favourites to top-tier musicians outside the metal genre. First up is Infected Rain’s Lena Scissorhands, who refines the pitch-black 'Would You Walk With Me Through Hell?' with the full range of her fierce, yet fragile vocals. Similarly, Anna Brunner of rising melodic metal stars League Of Distortion and symphonic metal band Exit Eden lends her energetic voice to 'Please Break The Silence', inducing goosebumps - every talent is an important scene in OPVS NOIR’s grimly colorful movie for the ears. The most moving collaboration is the opulent 'What Have We Become', in which experimental artist IAMX meets Chris Harms for a cathartic duet.

Completely fearless, Lord of the Lost have long since playfully risen above genre conventions and expectations. OPVS NOIR Vol. 2 mercilessly opens new doors in the band’s musical palace, yet still feels 100% at home for fans from the very beginning.

Swedish alt-metal heavyweights Smash Into Pieces celebrate album release with new video, 'Villain'

Swedish rock heavyweights Smash Into Pieces celebrate the release of their most ambitious album today, ARMAHEAVEN (31st October) with the reveal of their new video, 'Villain'.

Watch: https://youtu.be/m2RysWGqVvc

Get the album here: https://www.smashintopieces.com/armaheaven

With over half a billion streams and views, Smash Into Pieces have risen to become one of modern rock’s most dominant forces. From supporting Evanescence and Within Temptation on the Worlds Collide Tour (2022), reaching the Swedish Eurovision final twice, and delivering 1000+ shows worldwide, the band has cemented its global presence. 2024 was a milestone year with multiple headline tours across Scandinavia, North America, and Europe, followed by a packed festival summer. In 2025, the band’s expansion continues with tours in Thailand, Australia, Europe, and the Nordics.

On ARMAHEAVEN, Smash Into Pieces push their cinematic storytelling further than ever. Picking up where their previous album Ghost Code left off, the new chapter throws listeners into a dystopian future where Ghostis, now unstoppable, seizes control of the world. As the resistance falls, a new force emerges: an AI-driven entity that sparks an all-out digital war for dominance. The clash escalates into global catastrophe, exploring themes of power, survival, and rebirth. Will humanity find salvation, or will the machines consume themselves in a final great reset?

The album also features high-profile collaborations with Elize Ryd (Amaranthe), LIAMOO, and Swedish/Japanese media icon LiLiCo. Together with Smash Into Pieces, LiLiCo delivers the powerful duet 'First Time', bridging continents and cultures - a collaboration introduced to the public on Swedish national television in August 2025.

With an ever-growing international fanbase, countless sold-out shows, and their boldest musical and narrative vision yet, Smash Into Pieces close out 2025 at the peak of their career—proving once again why they are one of the leading forces in modern rock.

Dublin-born, London-based Tayne have released a dark industrial cover of Jefferson Airplane's ‘Somebody To Love’, the first new music since the release of their stunning debut album Love via MNRK Heavy. This follows the announcement of their UK & EU tour with Danish alt metal band MØL.

Stream 'Somebody To Love' here: https://tayne.lnk.to/SomebodyToLove

The band commented: “We wanted to do something that felt on brand with our album Love. ‘Somebody To Love’ was the obvious choice, it’s iconic and timeless. That song has existed for almost 60 years & it’s still relevant and as good as any pop song can be.”

Tayne will support MØL with Cold Night For Alligators on the following dates:

Love showcases Tayne at their boldest, blending ferocious energy with genre defying exploration. The album includes 'Fear', anthemic enough for stadiums, featuring a blistering guest appearance from Rolo Tomassi’s James Spence; 'In This Trend', an industrial dancefloor monster that could easily tear through the walls of Berghain; and 'Wasted', a brutal, mechanical explosion channelling the raw power of Ministry and Fear Factory, while struggling to find peace in the chaos.

“'Wasted' is all about lust,” explains Matt. “It’s about getting swept up in those intense feelings, confusing them for something more meaningful, and then stripping it all away to expose the mess it leaves behind.”

Love is co-produced by Tayne & longtime collaborator Wayne Adams (Green Lung, Pet Brick), one of a number of collaborations with artists as diverse as Jesu, Cage Fight, Rolo Tomassi, Mastiff, Katie Kim & Poisonous Birds with Tayne supporting the likes of HEALTH, Author & Punisher and The Dillinger Escape Plan’s Greg Puciato.

Plague of Angels summon 'Black Requiem' this Halloween

This Halloween, groundbreaking dark alt-metal visionaries Plague of Angels return with their most ambitious and emotionally charged single to date, 'Black Requiem'. A haunting exploration of mental health and the darkness within the human psyche, the track signals a new chapter in the band’s evolution.

Watch the video to 'Black Requiem' here: https://youtu.be/RjT5i_IbbKU

Stream here: https://plagueofangels.bfan.link/plague-of-angels-black-requiem

The band comment: "'Black Requiem' captures the sound of internal chaos, the private struggle that no one else can see. The imagery of Emilie performing from within a perspex coffin reflects that sense of being buried by your own mind yet still finding the strength to sing through it. This is the most conceptually ambitious piece we’ve ever created. From Caroline’s haunting piano that opens the track to the blistering guitar solo, every element serves the story of emotional confinement and release. Bringing Emilie Nox into the band has redefined our sound. Her ability to move between ethereal melody and visceral aggression gives 'Black Requiem' a rare emotional depth. It’s a song that bleeds honesty. We wanted to create something beautiful within the darkness. 'Black Requiem' is about confronting despair, not avoiding it, turning pain into art and noise into meaning.”

‘Black Requiem’ marks the first appearance of new vocalist Emilie Nox, whose dynamic range moves seamlessly from ethereal melody to visceral death growls and new bassist/pianist Caroline Campbell, whose expressive piano work and thunderous bass line low end expand the band’s already immersive sound.

Musically, ‘Black Requiem’ propels Plague of Angels further into their signature fusion of epic grandeur and extreme metal intensity. From fragile piano passages and sweeping strings to an explosive chorus and searing guitar solo, the song embodies the collision of vulnerability and rage, echoing the struggle at the heart of its lyrics.

The accompanying video for Black Requiem’ is a dark, cinematic exploration of isolation and inner turmoil. Directed with stark visual precision, it features vocalist Emilie Nox entombed within a perspex coffin, a visceral metaphor for mental confinement and the will to break free.

Plague of Angels first turned heads with their debut single, 'What Lies Beneath', and becoming the first metal band ever to perform on BBC’s The One Show. Their breathtaking live performance inside a church, complete with pipe organ accompaniment, earned critical acclaim from The Guardian and The Daily Telegraph, whilst solidifying their reputation as pioneers of “Organic Metal,” blending classical grandeur with contemporary heaviness.

Their follow-up singles Beyond Salvation’ and 'Lazarene' deepened that vision, showcasing a remarkable range of musical and emotional dynamics.

Earlier this year, the band made history once again with a sold-out performance at York Minster, one of the UK’s most iconic cathedrals. The monumental show saw their sound rise through the vast gothic arches of the Minster, merging the sacred and the extreme in a spellbinding display of light, sound and emotion. The event drew widespread national media attention, with coverage across BBC Look North, ITV News and BBC Radio 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6, underscoring Plague of Angels’ reputation as one of the most ambitious and visionary forces in contemporary metal.

The concept of Organic Metal was born from guitarist Mark Mynett’s collaboration with Leeds Cathedral organist David Pipe, an experiment that bridged the sacred and the extreme. The project’s success, covered by local, national and international media, laid the foundations for Plague of Angels, a band devoted to exploring beauty, darkness and transcendence in sound.
