Norna and Legbiter announce split EP and release single

Norna - Credit: Pelagic Records

Legbiter - Credit: Pelagic Records

Swedish noisemakers Norna and Legbiter have announced the release of their self-titled split EP on 20th March via Pelagic Records. They have also unviled a new single, Legbiter's 'Speedball'.

Pre-order the split EP and stream 'Speedball' here: https://orcd.co/legbiter

As the second single from their split EP, Legbiter treat us to this rampaging single ‘Speedball’. Infused with a noise-rock/shoegaze 90s atmosphere and the energy of post-hardcore, this head-banger of a track is all at once fuzzy, catchy and devastatingly precise. There is a sharpness to Legbiter’s writing with no movement wasted. They deliver impact with surgical focus. Anchored by urgent and unfiltered vocals, the track moves from vibrant verses to stomping chorus, exhibiting Legbiter’s ability to blend styles, lean into the hook of melody and subtly tweak the dynamics without losing momentum or intensity.

From the cold North of Sweden, Norna  and Legbiter's split EP is a six-track document of contrast, convergence, and uncompromising heavy music. Bringing together two distinct voices, the release explores the many shapes heaviness can take—stretching from crushing, slow-moving atmospheres to sharp, volatile bursts of aggression.

Formed by musicians with deep roots in the European underground, Norna approach heaviness as a vehicle for emotional gravity. Their sound is expansive and deliberate, built on massive low-end, tectonic rhythms, and an acute sense of restraint.

Legbiter approach heavy music as direct, confrontational, and unrelentingly physical. Rooted in hardcore and metal’s most ferocious intersections, the band thrives on immediacy and impact. Legbiter compress time, delivering short, explosive bursts that hit with the force of a live wire. Their sound is lean, aggressive, and unapologetically raw.

“Even though we sound very different sonically I think we all have a lot of common ground, not only in being parts of the 90’s scenes, but also musically in the somewhat dissonant and harsh guitar parts”, says Legbiter guitarist Rickard Nordström. “Personally, I love splits with bands that don't sound exactly the same, but share some common traits and vibes.”

“Contrast is everything, we have always tried to flow between despair and beauty. Dynamics are important to us. This split will give you that contrast”, comments Norna guitarist and vocalist and former Breach vocalist Tomas Liljedahl.

Norna work with discomfort and resonance until meaning begins to surface. Their sound is dense, immersive and moves with deliberate weight, unfolding gradually and allowing tension to accumulate over time. Guitars loom and resonate, drums seismic, and the overall pacing encourages full absorption. There is an understanding that heaviness is as much about space, patience, and emotional depth as it is about volume or distortion. Vocals in function as another textural layer. When they surface, they do so with intent: raw, human, and confrontational.
“These songs pretty much reflect what we do musically and sonically right now. Create as much destruction with as little means as possible, raw and true”, says Lijedahl.

Tomas Lijedahl - Vocals, Guitar

Winterfylleth join Napalm Records, reveal new album and unveil first single ahead of April tour

“Long at the forefront of UK black metal Winterfylleth have quite rightly become one of the most revered extreme metal bands from these isles.” - Dayal Patterson, Cult Never Dies
“They elicit an aura of naturalistic vastness that’s worthy of Bathory.” Metal Hammer

Napalm Records is proud to announce the signing of the UK’s black metal legends, Winterfylleth. To celebrate this new partnership, the band unveils a new album, The Unyielding Season, set for release on 27th March. Making a stand, Winterfylleth's ninth album is a social commentary wrapped in meticulously crafted poetry and prose. Where the preceding album, The Imperious Horizon (2024), described an ominous, malevolent force, lurking in the distance, The Unyielding Season now explores said threat becoming a reality. The raging wildfire to its predecessor’s calculating, icy cold, Winterfylleth’s first offering for their new record label is a reflection and a rebellion against the turmoils tearing individuals apart. It is a cry against the unsustainable weight of fear and pressure being pushed into the world, by the agents of an unresting, and unyielding force for evil.

The first glimpse into the infernal release is 'Heroes of a Hundred Fields'. Winterfylleth weave an epic story into a raging battle hymndescribing brave minds joining forces against a common oppressor to fight for their freedom.

Pre-order The Unyielding Season here: https://lnk.to/Winterfylleth-TheUnyieldingSeason/napalmrecords

Winterfylleth about 'Heroes of a Hundred Fields': "'Heroes of a Hundred Fields’ is framed in a wartime, battlefield setting and uses the premise of soldiers coming together, united as brothers, to fight against a foe who are powerful, oppressive, and domineering. It talks about how people should come together and fight for the freedoms they have and not succumb to those who would attack them and try to weaken them (or take them away entirely). There have been so many ideas and schemes pushed into the world over the last few years that only serve to erode people’s personal freedoms, slowly, little-by-little, until they are gone. This song talks about ‘lighting the beacons of rebellion’ against those who would seek to undermine the way of life and freedom that we all – hopefully – hold dear.”

Where our surroundings grow more challenging every day, Winterfylleth offers a pause for respite and resistance. The world is on fire, and The Unyielding Season is a warning.

Winterfylleth about The Unyielding Season:
“2026 marks a year of big changes for Winterfylleth! A new label, a new member, a new album, and the landmark of 20 years making music together. We are enthused by what this new chapter will bring, and as a result, we are now able to share our ninth album, The Unyielding Season, with the world. It is also a powerful and virulent first output, through which we seal our new collaboration with Napalm Records.

"In many ways, the new album is a reflection on – and a rebellion against – the turmoil’s and fears that are tearing the lives of many individuals apart. It is a cry against the unsustainable & constant weight of malevolence and pressure being pushed into the world by agents of an un-resting and unyielding force for evil. We hope the album resonates with you, stirs your soul, and gives you a source for hope. But, we also hope it makes you ask questions of your own circumstances and gives you pause to consider the unnerving state of the world we all share.”

'Heroes of a Hundred Fields' is the first revolt on their ten-song manifesto, describing brave minds joining forces against a common oppressor to fight for their freedom. The song unfolds in marvellous grandeur as chants of “Rebellions beacons now alight”, ring out against a tide of evil. With 'Echoes In The After', Winterfylleth deliver a striking epic: adapted from a poem by Sir Philip Sidney’s late 16th-century romance “The Countess Of Pembroke’s Arcadia”, the track was written as a reaction to the felling of the famous 'Robin Hood' tree at Sycamore Gap on Hadrian’s Wall, in the North East of the UK. The following track, 'A Hollow Existence', opens up with galloping drums and explodes into equally aggressive and atmospheric black metal fireworks.

The band’s trademark sound continues throughout 'Perdition’s Flame' into the album’s title track, a powerful observation of our world’s current situation and a voice for those silenced by its hostility. Atmospheric masters Winterfylleth then pause their rage, making room for 'Unspoken Elegy', an acoustic guitar-driven instrumental enriched by equally hopeful and menacing cello melodies, a hauntingly beautiful illustration of the dichotomy within The Unyielding Season. 'In Ashen Wake' takes up the perilous undertone, taking its time before unveiling itself as another highly melodic black metal saga. 'Toward Elysium' expands on that with a strong, old-school-inspired guitar riff, thrilling and catchy. Following another instrumental, the beautifully structured 'Where Dreams Once Grew'Winterfylleth end the album running order with a bonus track, a cover of fellow Brits Paradise Lost’s 'Enchantment', originally released as the opening track on their 1995 classic Draconian Times.

Winterfylleth will bring The Unyielding Season to the stage this April, touring the UK and Ireland alongside Blackbraid and Noctem.

'1589', originally released on their #1 album Wake Up The Wicked (2024), is one of many highlights of the live album’s captured performance, brought to life by a blazing stage production and spectacular pyrotechnics. The accompanying live video of the characteristically catchy hymn has us all witness the spectacle that transcends beyond a concert. Filmed in Munich during their impressive sold-out show at Olympiahalle as part of the stunning Wolfsnächte Tour in 2024, POWERWOLF prove once more that they are an unmatched force.

POWERWOLF comment on Wildlive (Live at Olympiahalle)“We always knew that no words or short recap videos could truly capture what we experienced together during the Wolfsnächte 2024 tour. Every night was its own kind of magic – still, we wanted to find a way to hold on to those memories and share them in the most powerful way possible. That’s why we decided to record the full, massive, sold-out show at the Olympiahalle in Munich – to preserve just a piece of what we all felt on this tour. Wildlive (Live at Olympiahalle) is more than a live release. It’s a tribute and manifestation to the moments we created together.”

Just one day after the release of their spectacular new live album Wildlive (Live at Olympiahalle), POWERWOLF will raise the banners high once more and conquer Europe during their Wake Up The Wicked Tour, which includes their first show at the legendary OVO Arena Wembley for an exclusive United Kingdom show – a night destined to go down in metal history. The show will be opened by Hammerfall and Wind Rose.

Exclusive United Kingdom show 2026:
07.03.26 UK – London / OVO Arena Wembley

POWERWOLF are already confirmed to return to some of the biggest metal festivals next summer, including headlining the monumental Wacken Open Air.

What began as an unconventional project in 2004 has since evolved into one of the most successful metal phenomena worldwide. Wildlive (Live at Olympiahalle) documents POWERWOLF’s unrelenting rise to the top, showcasing a performance that goes far beyond a metal concert. From a fire-breathing church organ and thunderous pyro spectacles to dark, operetta-like storytelling and rousing crowd interaction, this show is pure heavy metal theater at its finest. Wildlive (Live at Olympiahalle) is an absolute must-have for every music lover. It will be available in multiple formats including Blu-Ray, DVD, CD and Vinyl as well as a Deluxe Boxset, Earbook, Mediabook, and several other Collector's Editions, featuring exclusive bonus content.

On Wildlive (Live at Olympiahalle), each song is visually reimagined with a changing digital stage set, timed effects, and theatrical elements: monks with torches, falling snow on a burning piano, and a fiery execution scene that rivals shock rock’s greatest icons. Classics like 'Army Of The Night', 'Amen & Attack', 'Armata Strigoi', and 'Demons Are a Girl’s Best Friend' come alive in larger-than-life arrangements, while emotional highlights like 'Alive or Undead' bring the audience to tears. The interplay between frontman Attila Dorn and organist Falk Maria Schlegel turns every moment into an unforgettable ritual.

Wildlive (Live at Olympiahalle) is more than just a celebration of past triumphs – it marks the beginning of a powerful new chapter in the band’s unstoppable journey. POWERWOLF have long transcended genre boundaries – their shows are cult-like celebrations of metal, emotion, and art. The band will then bring the heat to the Chaos & Carnage 2026 tour across North America alongside Thy Art Is Murder, Carnifex, 200 Stab Wounds, Ingested, Gates To Hell, and Bodybox.

There are many clichés about battling adversity. That if you fall down, you get back up again. That what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. That it’s the journey that’s important, not the end result. That the struggle is worth it, that you need to suffer to make great art. It’s not always true, of course, but Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home certainly makes a strong case for that argument. The fourth full-length from Melbourne, FL deathcore outfit Bodysnatcher, it follows 2024’s brutal Will Putney-produced EP, Vile Conduct and serves up another powerful barrage of uncompromising deathcore across 10 incredible tracks that see the four piece - Kyle Medina (vocals), Kyle Carter (guitar), Kyle Shope (bass) and Chris Whited (drums) - turn the catharsis up as loud and as visceral as it will go.

Of course, that’s nothing new for the band. If you’ve heard Vile Conduct, or any of the three albums that preceded it - 2017’s Death of Me, 2020’s The Heavy Void or 2022’s Bleed-Abide - you’ll know this is a band who have always pitted themselves against personal tragedy, who have fought on individual levels against the dark depths of a despair (often inspired by their own experiences of death). Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home is no less harrowing.

"The band has always had roots lyrically in themes of betrayal, overcoming hardship, and moving on from things that happen in life and how to cope with them,” explains Medina. “Ever since the inception of Bodysnatcher, that was the theme. I do think, though, as the band has matured and we as people have grown, so have the ways to dig into the themes more. With more life experience there are more things to draw from.” Yet while this is still a viciously personal record, Hell Is Here, Hell Is Home is also a dark reflection of the world at large, and its current dystopia. It doesn’t just dwell on what’s happening, though. It lashes out at the way things are with a terrible, violent rage.

That manifests itself from the very beginning of this record, from opener 'The Maker' on. A sheer assault of rage, noise and skullcrushing riffs, it multiplies Bodysnatcher’s intensity to a degree that, even by their already intense standards, is off the charts.

That direct darkness continues throughout the entirety of the next nine songs, from the unforgiving vengeance of 'Writhe And Coil' and 'Violent Obsession' through to the blistering defiance of 'Blade Between The Teeth' and 'Survive Or Die'. The latter features vocals from Scott Vogel, the frontman of hardcore legends Terror, a band very close to Bodysnatcher’s blackened heart. It follows the previous impressive cameo on Vile Conduct by Hatebreed’s Jamey Jasta

Vogel’s appearance shows just how much of a mark Bodysnatcher have made on the scene. But it’s not distracting them from their intent and purpose. In fact, that only seems to have been refined as time has passed. The band are full of rage with a purpose, rage full of intention, rage with hope still attached to it. Because even though it was born out of incredibly difficult circumstances, both personal and universal, Bodysnatcher’s hope is that people listening to it can find some kind of solace in it alongside all the anger and the rage.

Thrashers NERVOSA announce new album and stream title track

Metal heroines NERVOSA have announced their new album, Slave Machine, which will be unleashed on 3rd April 2026 via Napalm Records. Their sixth full-length shows the Brazil-based modern thrash metal band releasing their inner beasts at staggering speed and with formidable emphasis. Having performed at the biggest metal festivals worldwide, from Wacken to Hellfest, and making a lasting impression on fans and critics alike, NERVOSA aims to consolidate their standing as genre frontrunners. With founding guitarist Prika Amaral established as their new singer with their previous record, Jailbreak (2023), they tear through the scene with the force of a sledgehammer. Along with the announcement, NERVOSA release the title track of the upcoming record.

'Slave Machine' serves as a perfect first harbinger of the fury the Brazilian group is about to unleash on the world: instantly turning up the speed and showing a slightly different side of the thrash band with a catchy alternative bridge, the crushing track kicks off a new era for NERVOSA.

NERVOSA comment on new single 'Slave Machine': “This song is everything that we want to say and play, many different vocal layers and guitar melodies like a scream to say that we are all part of the ‘Slave Machine’.”

Once again working with producer Martin Furia of German legends DESTRUCTION, the women bridge the gap between old-school power and critical modernity. Slave Machine adds twelve fiery songs to NERVOSA’s repertoire.

Twelve new songs show the five-piece exploring their crushing style in an enhanced way. Opening 'Impending Doom' builds up menacingly, using thunderous riffs and jagged drums to establish NERVOSA’s dominance in the scene.

The title track, 'Slave Machine', instantly turns up the speed and adds a surprising alternative bridge to the already catchy chorus, showing a slightly different side of the metal powerhouses. The following 'Ghost Notes' unleashes a storm of heavy, yet easily recognisable riffs, driven by impelling drums and the ever-so-furious vocals of Prika Amaral, crowned by an astounding guitar solo.

Through 'Beast Of Burden', NERVOSA shows their harshest side, while 'You Are Not A Hero' offers a grand chorus, gifting Slave Machine a true anthem. 'Hate' unfolds with raw brutality, and 'The New Empire' looks for destruction with melodic precision.'30 Seconds' rises up to new heights, while 'Crawl For Your Pride' combines NERVOSA’s trademark social criticism with gut-punching songwriting.

Throughout 'Learn Or Repeat' and 'The Call', the band once again sprinkles in some pieces of modern groove with old-school vibes before Slave Machine rears up one final time on the threateningly sinister 'Speak In Fire'.

The band comment: "With 'Parallel Tracks' we wanted to take sounds that might feel discarded or rough and give them new life. The title reflects how there are always multiple ways for sounds and grooves to come together, finding unexpected harmony. The video manifests this spirit, inspired by early motion graphics experiments, where the focus was on exploring possibilities and seeing what kinds of images would emerge from the sounds.

With its playful metallic clatter and sharp percussive hooks, 'Parallel Tracks' is a celebration of sonic detritus: discarded textures reassembled into something unexpectedly danceable, with darker grooves and sinewy rhythms. Here JeGong lean into a shadowy, post-punk-tinged energy, conjuring a sense of nocturnal movement. It’s a track that exemplifies JeGong’s ability to turn experimental instincts into something irresistibly physical.

Known for their immersive, rhythm-driven explorations of krautrock and experimental sound design, JeGong now take an exhilarating leap into brighter, nostalgically stranger territory.

Gomi Kuzu Can is an electrifying journey through kraut, post- and experimental rock, delivered with the analogue warmth of the ’70s.

Across eleven meticulously crafted tracks, JeGong embrace their roots while fearlessly expanding into neon-lit, beat-driven worlds where kinetic rhythms meet playful sonic futurism. It is music built for movement, contemplation, and the ecstatic strangeness of possibility. Their approach borrows the endurance and patience of minimalism, but they subvert minimalism’s austerity with grit, distortion, and physicality. The result is music that feels alive in motion: constantly shifting, tightening, unfurling, and mutating even when its core pulse remains unbroken.

At the centre is the duo’s uncanny rhythmic intuition: drums that pulse with krautrock steadiness, bass lines that swing between monolithic foundation and crude melodic insistence. Together, these elements create a sonic environment that feels both mechanical and deeply human, ritualistic yet instinctual.

One of the album’s most striking achievements is its analogue warmth. In an era dominated by pristine digital surfaces, JeGong embrace imperfection: human element in every beat and modulation. Gomi Kuzu Can, is hand-built, lovingly assembled from circuitry, intuition, and raw creative impulse. This tactile quality is precisely what makes the album’s danceability so impactful. In blending organic rhythm with retro-electronic brightness, they’ve created a sound that is both familiar and refreshingly new.
