Rising titans of Australian hard rock and pure heavy metal, Battlesnake have ascended from the underground to global domination with ferocity, flair, and unrelenting ambition. Channeling the grandiosity of Queen, the steel of Judas Priest, and the doom-laden power of Black Sabbath, Battlesnake forge a sound that feels both gloriously familiar and strikingly original. Defined by towering riffs, soaring vocals, and dynamic, theatrical songwriting, the band has cemented their reputation as one of the most electrifying acts in contemporary metal.

Formed in 2019, Battlesnake wasted no time making their presence known. Their debut EP Myths and Legends from Gorbag’s Domain (2020) introduced a band unafraid of spectacle, storytelling, and sheer volume. This momentum carried into their self-titled debut album in 2023, which expanded their sonic arsenal and marked their transition from cult favourites to serious contenders.

Their international breakthrough came in 2024 with The Rise and Demise of the Motorsteeple, a high-octane concept album that blended thunderous metal with intricate narrative ambition. The record struck a powerful chord across the UK and Europe, earning critical acclaim and propelling Battlesnake onto global radars as one of the most exciting and unpredictable bands in the genre.

That rise was amplified by high-profile tours alongside legendary acts including KISS on their End of the World Tour, as well as The Smashing Pumpkins and Jane’s Addiction on the World Is a Vampire Tour. Night after night, Battlesnake’s explosive live shows converted new fans, selling out venues and solidifying their reputation as a must-see live force.

In 2025, Battlesnake delivered their third studio album, Dawn Of The Exultants And The Hunt For The Shepherd, unveiling a darker, more refined edge to their sound. The release coincided with their biggest touring year to date, including appearances at major international festivals such as Download (UK), Copenhell (Denmark), Rock for People (Czech Republic), Mad Cool (Spain), and more, further proving their dominance on the world stage.

Now in 2026, Battlesnake stand at the peak of their powers as they prepare to unleash their fourth studio album. Backed by multiple international tours and an ever-expanding global fanbase, the band continue to push their sound to new extremes, bigger, bolder, and more uncompromising than ever before. With their trademark blend of epic theatricality, crushing heaviness, and relentless energy, Battlesnake show no signs of slowing down.

With critical acclaim, worldwide momentum, and an unshakable commitment to their craft, Battlesnake are establishing themselves as a formidable force in modern metal.

All hail Battlesnake

Alt-punks PLAIINS return with new anthem 'LOOK MA, I'M A DON' and announce UK tour

British/German alt-punks PLAIINS are back with a venomous and vibrantly catchy new anthem that targets the hollow bravado of modern pick-up culture. Building on the massive momentum of over 3 million streams and rave reviews from Visions and Kerrang! describing them as "cartoonishly gobby," the band’s latest single, 'LOOK MA, I'M A DON' is a masterclass in satirical songwriting.

Stream 'Look Ma, I'm a Don' here: https://plaiins.lnk.to/lookmaimadon

The song combines a catchy Britpop-leaning chorus with the raw, unedited feel of The Libertines through its dual-guitar interplay, anchored by a melodic bass line that Paul McCartney would be proud of. One of the track's most brilliant moments is a cheeky Beyoncé reference - "Say my name, say my name" - which perfectly highlights the irony of a character who demands to be known while treating others like disposable products.

Coming off the back of their highly praised debut album Happy Faces (2025) and a collab with Italian producer Mazare on the song 'DIGAF', PLAIINS present their latest song just in time for the upcoming festival summer with several shows all over Europe, before heading to the UK in autumn and a Germany tour in winter with Smile and Burn and The Pill in all major cities.

PLAIINS comment on the new single: “‘Look Ma I’m a Don’ is a song poking fun at pick-up culture and the consumerist mindset driving it. The character sees himself as some kind of big-shot 'Don', while in reality he’s just a hurt little boy trying to fill a void and earn recognition from his mum. It’s a critique of treating relationships like a numbers game - keeping the body count high and consuming people like products.”

PLAIINS have announced the UK leg of their No Monkey's On My Back tour. Dates:

UK Tour 2026
30.09. Leeds, UK
01.10. Birmingham, UK
02.10. London, UK

Celebrated Australian guitarist, composer and producer Plini has announced a North American headline tour in support of his new album An Unnameable Desire, released in April 2026. Plini commented on the video: "After making a series of whimsical narrative videos for the album launch, we thought it would be fun to make something more "traditional" - a simple playthrough in a magical setting. It was extra fun to use a couple of rarer guitars and explore a different part of the epic Dovecote property (where we made the video for "Ember")."

On the tour, he continues: "Very excited to return to the US and Canada to play the new album material - we just finished in Europe and the reception was better than I could have dreamed of! And super excited to get to bring my friends Night Verses and Portraits along for the ride!"

Mixed by Simon Grove and mastered by Adam "Nolly" GetgoodAn Unnameable Desire finds Plini joining forces with a horde of creative talent, with magic woven alongside Simon Grove (bass, auxiliary guitar, mixing, engineering and co-production), Chris Allison (drums percussion, additional drum engineering and co-production), Dave Mckay (piano, keyboards and synthesizers), A.J. Minette (string arrangement and production), Misha Vayman (violin) and Yoshi Masuda (cello), with additional production on 'Ciel' courtesy of Devesh Dayal, a guitar solo on 'Ciel' by Jakub Zytecki and harp on 'After Everything' by Emily Hopkins. Album artwork is designed by Patti Bai.

"Something I'm very happy about, after many years of making music and the "career" aspect of it becoming a whole lot more serious, is that the process hasn't changed - still just me sitting in a room, tinkering on a guitar until I come across an interesting idea, and then following it down various rabbit holes until it starts feeling like a song," shares Plini of his new album.

"The intention with this album," adds Plini"was to let that side of the process be as playful as possible, and then when it came to executing these ideas as finished songs, trying to expand the music in every direction possible: the heavier parts should be heavier, the pretty parts should be prettier, the hard-to-play stuff should be harder to play... and also in being as thoughtful and intricate as possible in relating the songs to each other through various themes and references. I hope it's as enjoyable to listen to as it was to make!"

Renowned for delivering mind-bending musicality from all angles, Plini has previously released two full-length albums, 2016's Handmade Cities and 2020's Impulse Voices, alongside several EPs, singles and contributing credits along the way.

Nominated for Live Guitarist of the Year in 2018 at the National Live Music Awards, Plini has also previously toured alongside Sleep TokenPeriphery and Tesseract, and is currently on a huge world tour.

Plague of Angels unveil new single / video featuring Josh Middleton (Sylosis)

Groundbreaking dark alt-metal visionaries Plague of Angels explore the fragmentation of human connection in the modern world on new single 'Pangea'. The band's fifth single is a dark and immersive journey, elevated by a guest solo from metal guitar virtuoso Josh Middleton of Sylosis and accompanied by a powerful, cinematic music video.

Watch the video to 'Pangea' here: https://youtu.be/qdkxGU27MRw

The band comment: "'Pangea' represents everything we love about Plague of Angels: atmosphere and emotion blended with aggression and heaviness - but for this release, with a much slower and more brooding focus. At its core, the song explores humanity's increasing disconnection from one another despite living in a more connected world than ever before. Musically, we wanted to capture the tragedy of this theme through dark, haunting melodies, cinematic orchestration, and moments of explosive intensity, constantly shifting between intimacy and power.

"Rather than simply performance-based, we approached the video as an artistic extension of the music, creating something evocative and darkly immersive. We're also honoured to feature an incredible guest guitar solo from
Josh Middleton of Sylosis, whose dynamics and phrasing adds another dimension to the track as it moves towards its emotional climax."

Plague of Angels first turned heads in 2024 with their debut single, 'What Lies Beneath', and becoming the first metal band ever to perform on BBC’s The One Show. Their breathtaking live performance inside a church, complete with pipe organ accompaniment, earned critical acclaim from The Guardian and The Daily Telegraph, whilst solidifying their reputation as pioneers of “organic metal,” blending classical grandeur with contemporary heaviness.

Their follow-up singles Beyond Salvation’ and 'Lazarene' deepened that vision, showcasing a remarkable range of musical and emotional dynamics.

The band made history once again with a sold-out performance at York Minster, one of the UK’s most iconic cathedrals. The monumental show saw their sound rise through the vast gothic arches of the Minster, merging the sacred and the extreme in a spellbinding display of light, sound and emotion. The event drew widespread national media attention, with coverage across BBC Look North, ITV News and BBC Radio 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6, underscoring Plague of Angels’ reputation as one of the most ambitious and visionary forces in contemporary metal.

The concept of Organic Metal was born from guitarist Mark Mynett’s collaboration with Leeds Cathedral organist David Pipe, an experiment that bridged the sacred and the extreme. The project’s success, covered by local, national and international media, laid the foundations for Plague of Angels, a band devoted to exploring beauty, darkness and transcendence in sound.

Disfiguring The Goddess release new single/video 'AWOL'

Disfiguring the Goddess unveil their powerful new single 'AWOL', the second track to be released from the forthcoming album Bloom, due out 31st July via Seek & Strike. Arriving as one of the album's most unexpected moments, 'AWOL' showcases a more melodic and emotionally charged side of Cameron Argon's (aka Big Chocolate) long-running project, balancing crushing heaviness with memorable hooks, soaring dynamics and an almost rock-like sensibility. Shifting seamlessly between punishing riffs, unplanned yet compelling clean vocals and an uplifting lyrical core, the track demonstrates the expanded creative range that defines Bloom while remaining unmistakably rooted in the Disfiguring the Goddess sound.

Watch the video for 'AWOL' here: https://youtu.be/2TeESHUDW7I

Pre-save Bloom here: https://orcd.co/dtgbloom

Commenting on the single, Argon states: “'AWOL' came together late in the writing process, when most of the record was already finished. I originally set out to recreate the energy of one of the album’s more punishing tracks and thought I was writing something brutal, intense, and mosh-ready, but what came out was almost the complete opposite. The song ended up revealing a more melodic and emotionally direct side of the record. Vocally, this is one of my favorite performances on the album. I think the vocals across the record are some of the strongest I have ever done, but 'AWOL' stands out because of how naturally it balances heaviness with tonal catchiness. There is almost a rock quality to parts of it, but it still feels fully rooted in Disfiguring the Goddess. The clean singing was never planned. I was just mapping out the melody and structure in a clean voice, and when I listened back, I realized the part already had the right character. I kept it exactly like that. I am not a traditional singer, but that unpolished instinct ended up serving the song really well. Structurally, it shifts between 4/4 and 6/8, which gives certain sections a strong sense of movement and lift without changing tempo or key. Lyrically and emotionally, it has an uplifting, push-forward energy, with a touch of that wounded romanticism that has always been part of DTG.”

Disfiguring the Goddess has always operated on its own terms. Driven by Argon’s singular vision across vocals, production and programming, the project has built a global following outside traditional industry structures, blending deathcore with electronic textures and experimental elements. The partnership with Seek & Strike expands that reach while keeping full creative control intact.

This year also sees Disfiguring the Goddess perform live for the first time, with a run of Canadian dates alongside Angelmaker and Ingested. Long a studio-focused project, the move into a live setting marks a significant shift. Argon comments: Disfiguring the Goddess hasn’t developed in the traditional sense of a touring band. It has existed as an experimental entity. Bringing DTG into the live sphere must reflect that history. It will be experimental, alternative and immersive.”

Despite the shift, the core ethos remains untouched. Disfiguring the Goddess is still driven by Argon’s meticulous approach to songwriting and production, dense, punishing compositions layered with atmosphere and precision. The difference now is scope: a larger stage for a project that has always deserved one, representing a new, exciting beginning for DTG. Argon remarks, Bloom is an album about accumulation, cultivation, and execution. There are a lot of themes running through it, both personal and sonic, but when I step back and look at the bigger picture, it symbolizes nurturing the seed of DTG until it finally blossoms. It is the beginning of a new chapter and the closing of an old one.”

With Bloom, Disfiguring the Goddess continue to refine their identity with a clear focus. No compromises, no dilution, just a more direct and fully realised version of the project on a larger scale.

Half Me unleash devastating new anthem 'Weather Eye'

With 'Weather Eye,' Half Me return with one of their most crushing and confrontational tracks to date. The long-awaited new single is a suffocating descent into manipulation, blind obedience, and the devastating consequences of placing faith in false idols.

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/hqppDYqF_9E

Stream here: https://arisingempire.com/halfme

Blending relentless aggression with an atmosphere of looming dread, the Hamburg-based metalcore outfit once again prove why they have become one of Europe's most exciting heavy acts. Lyrically, 'Weather Eye' is a direct attack on systems of control and the figures who exploit fear, loyalty, and suffering for their own gain. Lines such as “These saints hold smoking guns” and “No one’s watching over you” dismantle the illusion of protection and expose the hypocrisy hidden behind authority, belief, and power.

Throughout the song, feelings of apathy, hopelessness, and inner collapse collide with a growing sense of resistance, ultimately culminating in a violent rejection of those who seek to control others. Musically, Half Me deliver exactly what fans have come to expect: punishing breakdowns, razor-sharp riffs, oppressive atmosphere, and explosive vocal performances that shift seamlessly between seething tension and outright fury. Every section of 'Weather Eye' feels designed to ignite chaos, combining modern metalcore precision with the raw intensity that has become the band's trademark.

Since emerging as one of Germany’s fastest-rising heavy exports, Half Me have built a reputation through relentless touring, acclaimed festival appearances, and a string of hard-hitting releases that have resonated far beyond their home country. Sharing stages with some of the biggest names in modern heavy music and steadily expanding their international audience, the band have established themselves as a formidable force within the new wave of European metalcore.

French alt.metal band Sunborn reveal new single 'Infinity Pool' and sign with Solid State Records

Hotly-tipped French alt.metal band Sunborn today share their new single 'Infinity Pool' and announce their signing with Solid State Records (The Devil Wears Prada, Miss May I, and more).

Watch the video for the glitchy yet moody battering ram of a track here: https://youtu.be/_3FiSB3uN0g

Be forewarned - the video may haunt your dreams and replay in your mind when you close your eyes.

"The song is a haunting take on emotional isolation, disconnection, and the quiet paralysis of watching life move forward without you," the band's vocalist Lino Chesnel says. "This track captures the surreal feeling of existing inside your own enclosed world: Suspended between reflection and reality, unable to fully connect with the lives unfolding around you. 'Infinity Pool' explores what it means to remain emotionally stranded. There's a constant tension between longing and surrender, a desire to break free colliding with the fear that nothing will ever truly shift."

Chesnel continues, "At its core, it is about my own experience of dissociation in a hyperconnected world, but also searching for meaning inside the echo chamber of your own thoughts. I think that's something a lot of people experience but struggle to put into words."

Sunborn hail from Montpellier, in the south of France. This group of adventurous musicians aims to blend unconventional influences by bridging the gap between digital and analogue art while embracing modern sounds.

Thus, Sunborn shine a new light on what is sonically possible.

At the heart of Sunborn's songwriting is melody. Whether drawing from the crushing intensity of Knocked Loose or the infectious global rhythms of Bad Bunny, the band approaches music without boundaries, blending influences from every corner of the musical spectrum into something uniquely their own. Their vision is simple yet ambitious: To bridge the gap between violence and harmony in the most innovative way possible.

Over the past year, Sunborn have continued to build momentum through powerful live performances, with standout moments including their successful headline tour in January and a nationwide support run across France alongside Resolve.

'Infinity Pool' marks the breakout success of the band's previous two singles, 'Glacier' and 'Nebula', garnering nearly one million streams and views.

The road ahead marks a new chapter for the band. Following a summer packed with festival appearances, Sunborn will join acclaimed Nordic outfit Atlas for an extensive UK and European tour this September. At the same time, the band is preparing to unveil the most expansive and ambitious version of their sound to date - pushing its artistic vision further than ever before while remaining true to the emotional core that defines their music.

For Sunborn, the past is a source of inspiration, but the future is where their story truly begins.
