Australian metalcore quartet Reliqa have today announced their second album High Risk Thoughts, which lands 12th February via Nuclear Blast.

To commemorate the moment, the quartet have also revealed the record's opening track, the titanic 'Serum'.

The band comment: "'Serum'’s sound represents a sort of bridge from where we were to where we are now, so it felt apt to have it not only open the new record but also mark its announcement to the world. It's low and menacing with a mechanical edge (heavily inspired by the Danish prog legends VOLA), but we’ve also loaded it with some fun twists and turns, all part of our long-held goal to condition our listeners to expect the unexpected and be open-minded. This is the only song on the record that we’ve been consistently playing live for some time now and the reception has been full of energy, giving us high hopes for the rest of the album’s verdict."

Reliqa's debut full-length, Secrets of the Future (2024) was a wonderfully compelling and thoughtful look at what may be possible for the Sydney modern metalcore upstarts. Since then, so much of what they hoped would take place, has.

Racking up over four million streams on Secrets of the Future alone, cementing themselves as a mainstay in the Australian heavy scene, touring nationally with Northlane, Periphery, performing at Good Things and Life's A Beach festivals, and, most importantly, finding their feet as a headlining band, the quartet reached a level that had been the aim ever since they were kids.

Now, the band stand on the edge of a precipice, ready to release their incredible second album High Risk Thoughts. An album that is not just a cementing of so many of the factors that have allowed Reliqa to get to this point, but a mature extension and thrilling expansion of who and what they want to be as they move forward.

Musically, it looks to the greats of the modern genre. Shimmering with the ethereal tranquillity and gorgeous melodic control of Spiritbox at their most open; flickering with the pulsating synths and heightened tension underpinning Northlane; engaging with the forward-moving embracing of change of Bring Me The Horizon - High Risk Thoughts is an album that reaches for the stars.

Lyrically, it builds on the idea that we should give ourselves more grace in the life we are living. A sense of love, understanding and patience embedded into every crystalline refrain and soaring chorus. A reminder that by even considering how to make even more of a splash than you already have, you have already won, and that should be noted and celebrated, no matter where it lands you.

Together, it creates a record as inspiring as it is intense, as spine-tingling as it is sincere, as boundless as it is bludgeoning. A significant factor in keeping everything in check is that the band continues to keep things close to home and DIY at heart.

Reliqa will be touring North America for the very first time, in support of Northlane (dates listed below). As they transform from Australia's best-kept secret to one of their most exhilarating, exuberant and electric exports, Reliqa are fast becoming the figurehead to show what doing things your own way can achieve.

Graveyard release highly-anticipated new album 'Fever'

Rock titans GRAVEYARD have officially released their highly anticipated seventh studio album, Fever, out today worldwide via Nuclear Blast Records. Coinciding with the album’s arrival, the band has premiered an official lyric video for the album’s energetic opening track, ‘Back From The Grave’.

Right from the needle drop, the captivating groove of ‘Back From The Grave’ makes it unmistakably clear where the band is headed this time around: a triumphant return to GRAVEYARD’s heavy psych and heavy blues roots. Channelling the electrifying, vintage power of legendary albums like their much-loved classic Hisingen Blues, the track sets an explosive tone for the entire record - drenched in thick fuzz and fueled by a relentless rhythm section while still maintaining their soul-soaked grit.

The accompanying lyric video perfectly mirrors the hypnotic drive of ‘Back From The Grave’, pairing the track's infectious momentum with vintage visual styling that highlights the raw, bluesy swagger of the opening anthem.

Watch here: https://youtu.be/2g-pE4dObc4

Mixed by Pelle Gunnerfeldt - widely renowned for capturing the ferocious live energy of bands like The Hives, Refused, and Viagra Boys - and mastered by Robin Schmidt at 24-96 Mastering, Fever captures the unvarnished, high-voltage power of the Swedish quartet at full tilt.

Complemented by the record's bold visual identity created by Dutch artist Maarten Donders, Fever marks a celebrated return to form for the two-time Swedish chart-toppers. To mark today's release, GRAVEYARD will launch a co-headlining Scandinavian tour alongside BLUES PILLS, ahead of extensive European and UK tours throughout 2027.

Lost in Hollywood release new single 'way too close' featuring Archers

Hamburg’s rising modern metal force Lost in Hollywood return with their brand-new single ‘way too close’, featuring Nathaniel Pulley of Archers. Blurring the lines between modern metalcore, alternative pop and urban influences, the track sees the band push their distinctive sound into an even more emotional and dynamic direction.

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/tqd7Vsf2970

Stream 'way too close' here: https://arisingempire.com/lostinhollywood

Built around the fear of letting someone get too close after experiencing heartbreak, ‘way too close’ captures the tension between craving intimacy and instinctively pulling away from it. Vulnerable melodies and an instantly memorable chorus collide with atmospheric electronic textures and crushing breakdowns, creating the sharp contrasts that have become an essential part of Lost in Hollywood’s identity.

Nathaniel Pulley adds another dimension to the track, with his unmistakable voice complementing vocalist Amon Garrasi and amplifying the song’s emotional weight. Having already shared stages across Europe with Archers earlier this year, the collaboration feels like a natural meeting point between two exciting voices in the new generation of heavy music.

For ‘way too close’, Lost in Hollywood once again surrounded themselves with some of the scene’s most exciting creative minds. The single was co-produced alongside Timo Bonner of Our Mirage and Manuel Kohlert of Future Palace, while Max Ivory handled mixing and mastering. The result is a polished yet hard-hitting production that gives equal space to the track’s vulnerability, infectious pop sensibility and explosive heaviness.

TOK release defiant new single 'BURNOUT'

German modern metal force TOK (The Oklahoma Kid) continue their uncompromising new chapter with the release of their crushing new single ‘BURNOUT’, out now via Arising Empire.

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/NmVQNv5sD6I

Stream 'BURNOUT' here: https://arisingempire.com/tok

Following the explosive arrival of ‘SPIT’, ‘BURNOUT’ pushes TOK even further into the raw, confrontational territory that defines this new era of the band. Built around punishing riffs, relentless grooves and an undeniable sense of urgency, the track channels frustration with a world designed to keep people moving, producing and obeying until there is nothing left to give.

At its core, ‘BURNOUT’ is a refusal to play along. Taking aim at empty promises, forced conformity and the pressure to stay in line, the song captures the moment when exhaustion turns into resistance. Rather than accepting a system that demands people sacrifice their individuality in pursuit of an increasingly hollow idea of success, TOK push back with a simple message: break away before someone else gets the chance to define who you are.

Hopsydian bring their A Graceful Sin EP to life in physical format

Following its digital arrival earlier this year, Italian rising metalcore force Hopsydian are giving their striking debut EP A Graceful Sin a physical form. Set for release on 9th October via Arising Empire, the EP will be available on gold vinyl and CD, accompanied by exclusive new merchandise. In celebration, Hopsydian are now releasing a new video for the track 'Heavenly'.

Watch 'Heavenly' here: https://youtu.be/pDpfduTaErs
Stream/order A Graceful Sin here: https://arisingempire.com/hopsydian

Already surpassing one million streams, A Graceful Sin introduced Hopsydian as one of the most intriguing new names emerging from the European heavy scene. Across five tracks, the Milan-based band create a world that feels as much like a ceremony as a conventional metalcore record.

Epic, dark and deeply atmospheric, A Graceful Sin exists in the space between worship and transgression. Its songs explore devotion, love, obsession, sin and the seductive desire to transcend human limitations, constantly playing with opposing forces: holiness and corruption, light and shadow, beauty and brutality. The gold that dominates the record’s visual identity becomes a symbol of the divine, while something darker continually lurks beneath its surface.

Down reveal new single 'The Myth' from upcoming album 'Volume V'

'The Myth' is the latest single from American heavy metal icons Down. The track comes off the band’s long-awaited new studio album, Volume V, set for release on 20th November via Nuclear Blast Records.

Down were never just a band. It’s a brotherhood rooted in childhood friendships that have endured for decades. It’s an homage to the city of New Orleans, Louisiana. It’s music meant for anybody who has ever headbanged, played air guitar, or worn a weathered tour t-shirt like armour. For over three decades, the quintet – Philip H. Anselmo, Pepper Keenan, Kirk Windstein, Jimmy Bower, and Pat Bruders – have quietly built a legacy like no other. When these individuals congregate, magic ensues, conjured by earthquaking grooves, bellowing straight from the soul, and riffing loud enough to awaken an ancient deity. This autumn, Down begin another chapter with Volume V.

Volume V opens with the blistering barnburner, 'The Myth'. It sets the tone with a powerhouse vocal, pummelling rhythms, and precise down-picking. “‘The Myth’ has some epic moments,” comments Anselmo. “It’s a jammer. It’s got a big nod to Trouble, but vocally I’m thinking of James Dewar, Ronnie James Dio, Ozzy Osbourne, Glenn Hughes, and many of the other greats… The track and video are both straightforward and hammering.”

“It’s a perfect example of a classic Down collaboration,” says Windstein. “Amazing vocals, great riffs, and it comes together in a great Down song!”

Keenan agrees, “‘The Myth’ is classic Down in all its hammer fisted glory leading into a ‘70s jam trip that’s damn well worthy of the ride. Deliberate decisions of all the things we love… Quoting my main man. ‘When times are tough, they count on us!’”

Notes Bruders, “This is one of those songs that almost wrote itself. Especially when we all got in the same room together to work it out. It stands alone like all the other songs on this album.”

“It’s one of my favourite tracks off the new record,” adds Bower. “It’s heavy hitting and has all the right moves. It’s no Myth…. This song rules!”

Down’s bond runs deep. The guys initially crossed paths as teens in various local bands throughout New Orleans. Over the years, each musician went off and made a name for himself with Anselmo notably fronting Pantera, Keenan holding down guitar and vocals for Corrosion Of Conformity, Windstein leading Crowbar, and Bower slinging guitar in Eyehategod.

Two writing sessions yielded the bulk of material on Volume V. Upholding a tradition dating back to Down II, the members retreated to Anselmo’s home studio and their de facto clubhouse, Nodferatu’s Lair. Songs originated on the spot as they jammed face-to-face. Throughout 2025, the music naturally took shape. Keenan and Windstein chose to simultaneously record guitar together, giving the album a timeless punch.

“These days, there’s no pressure,” Anselmo notes. “We each showed up with what we had, and everybody added their input. It was a true band effort. Pat was coming up with incredible riffs, and he’s such a great bass player. With Down, I can look across from me, and I know these motherfuckers. I know their shortcomings, and I know their strengths. I also know they’re all blessed. When I see them, they bring a level of comfort. There’s zero weight on my shoulders. I just have to do what I do, and those guys make it easy.”

Down’s Volume V was produced by Eddie Mapp and Down, mixed by Dave Fortman, and mastered by Maor Appelbaum at Maor Appelbaum Mastering in California.

The record will be released on CD and digital formats as well as 2xLP in the following colour variants:

More on Down:

In 1991, Down’s first impromptu jam session yielded a now-legendary demo that made its way around the world. From there, the three-song tape effectively laid the foundation for 1995’s Platinum-certified NOLA. Metal Hammer cited the latter as, “a rock classic, period,” and Stereogum professed, “Our modern understanding of what metal in the Deep South sounds like and means starts with NOLA, and we should pay our respects.” The band delivered fan favorites such as Down II: A Bustle In Your Hedgerow (2002), Down III: Over The Under (2007), Down IV – Part One (2012), and Down IV – Part Two (2014). Each tour proved to be special in its own right. Beyond packing houses on global headline jaunts, the group shared the stage with the likes of Metallica, Heaven & Hell, Danzig, and Melvins in addition to igniting festivals such as Aftershock, Louder Than Life, Hellfest, and Sick New World. It's no wonder Revolver christened the collective one of the “12 Greatest Supergroups in Hard Rock and Heavy Metal History.”

Metal titans Darkest Hour reveal new single 'Warrior'

Metalcore pioneers Darkest Hour have today released their new single and video, 'Warrior', today. This is the second single from the band’s forthcoming album, Suffer Divine, out on 30th October via MNRK Heavy.

Watch: https://youtu.be/8DnPfZiQrzY

Pre-order Suffer Divine here: https://darkesthour.ffm.to/sufferdivine

Guitarist Mike Schleibaum comments, “This song showcases our melodic death metal tendencies with a bit of a modern twist. It draws you deep into a fresh yet familiar DH sound. I love the progressiveness of Nico’s solo, the intricacy of Travis’ drum work, Deal’s devastating low end, John’s vocal delivery, and lyrical density. This album is full of both rage and technicality. It’s furious with focused intent, and this song is a perfect example of that in action.”

Vocalist John Henry adds, “Lyrically, this song is meant to reach out to the intrapersonal warrior. The internal struggle is often the most important battle we ever fight. This song touches on the idea of gaining control of your thoughts, actions, and purpose. It's meant to be fuel for action.”

Acclaimed filmmaker Thomas Mignone directed the accompanying video for 'Warrior' for DOOM Inc.

Schleibaum says, "The video for ‘Warrior’ is heavily inspired by one of our favorite movies, Raging Bull AND one of our favorite music videos, ‘Mama Said Knock You Out.’ This video is both fun and tough at the same time.”

A bastard child born from the mid-'90s punk, metal, and hardcore movement, Darkest Hour emerged from Washington, D.C. with a sound that fused the passion, energy, and soul of punk and hardcore with the speed, vengeance, and fury of melodic speed, thrash, and death metal. Widely regarded as pioneers of modern metalcore, the band played a key role in defining the sound that would become known as the New Wave of American Metal.

After three decades of defining the intersection of melodic death metal and hardcore, Darkest Hour continue to deliver music as vital as it is visceral. Throughout the ensuing years, the band have tallied tens of millions of streams and quietly built a diehard fan base. Circling the globe, they packed hundreds of shows and touched down on every continent, save Antarctica. Along the way, they notably notched five Top 3 debuts on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums Chart. 2017’s Godless Prophets & the Migrant Flora marked the group’s third #1 bow on the latter in addition to crashing the Top 10 of the Top Vinyl Albums Chart.

Throughout their career, Darkest Hour have continually evolved without abandoning the intensity that has defined them from the beginning. Their blend of melodic death metal and metalcore has earned them a devoted following and critical acclaim. In 2024, the band released its tenth full-length album, Perpetual I Terminal.

That relentless approach remains central to the band's identity. New Noise Magazine has praised Darkest Hour for manoeuvring "with an unrivaled level of dedication" as they continue developing their distinctive melodic fusion of heavy metal and hardcore. The publication also noted that, while remaining true to their punk-rock mentality, the band continues to embrace new methods of expression with each album.

For vocalist John Henry, that longevity is rooted in something deeper than simply making music.

"This has been such a constant in my life that I can't live without," Henry told New Noise. "Any time we ever felt dragged down, something would happen where we would write a song, or we would do a tour, and it'd be, like, okay, we can't stop. This is what we know. This is what we love, and we love doing it too much."

With 'Warrior,' Darkest Hour continue that decades-long journey, delivering another chapter in a career built on intensity, perseverance, and an unwillingness to stand still.

Hardcore legends WALLS OF JERICHO release new single 'True Til' Death'

Detroit hardcore legends WALLS OF JERICHO are set to make their long-awaited return with System Error: Humanity, their first new album in a decade, due 13th November 2026 via Napalm Records. Following the explosive comeback single 'The Ascent' and righteous follow-up 'Agency', the band now offer 'True Til’ Death', a thrash-laden pit bomb that confronts the corrosive nature of rage and the difficult shift from using anger as fuel to feeling its power give way to apathy. Kicking off with menacing cymbal crashes and pummelling kicks, vocalist Candace Buckingham delivers a visceral rallying cry about finding the strength to keep fighting when the very emotions that once drove you forward begin to lose their force.

Watch the video for 'True Til' Death' here: https://youtu.be/E3zAo0M6yjQ

Pre-order the album here: http://lnk.to/WallsOfJericho-SystemErrorHumanity/napalmrecords

Candace Buckingham comments: “‘True Til Death’ is about facing the inner turmoil that once served you as a way to survive, and learning to turn it into fuel. It’s choosing positive aggression over hopelessness, using that pain to keep fighting. Musically, it hits with heavy breakdowns and straightforward, driving hardcore riffs that carry that fight forward.”

Clobbering listeners out of the gate with 'True Til’ Death', the band affirms the triumph of their comeback with rabid aggression: iconic vocalist Candace Buckingham immediately commands listeners with her gargantuan growls. The discordant violence of tracks like 'The Ascent' and 'Untouchable', tap into something truly primal and kick you back a reading level with their claustrophobic chord work, while more thrash driven tracks like 'The Flame' and 'Agency', take off at 100 miles per hour, plowing through a plethora of protein packed riffage and solos. Lyrically the band is stoking the flames of discontent, with tracks like 'Agency', 'Borrowed Ground', and 'Last Judgement', delivering empowering messages of reclamation, self determination, and human rights, encouraging listeners to fight for a better world.

The record also features a premier slew of guests including Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe on 'Broken Mouths Can't Speak', his beckoning howl joining Candace on a ferocious duel attack; and Guy Kozowyk of The Red Chord on 'Humanity', propelling the groove laden pit starter into cataclysmic levels of chaos. After some more delicious violence, and a transcendent slow burn in the form of 'A Brighter Fire', 'The Reckoning' finishes things off with an epic, catastrophic energy that is bookended with one of the album’s most punishing breakdowns, bound to send some unlucky concertgoers to the dentist.

Legendary producer and Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou (NAILS, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Code Orange, and Every Time I Die) is behind the boards, capturing the band’s ferocious live energy while maintaining a pristine presentation. Powerful, fierce, and stirring, WALLS OF JERICHO re-emerge with righteous purpose and brutal dedication, humanity may be the source of the system error, but we are the system, and we are the solution.

RADAR's Catherine Jackson-Smith comments: "RADAR ‘27 is already shaping up to be an unforgettable year.  We couldn’t let Mick Gordon play on his own, and since day one of RADAR we’ve lamented not being able to book Arcane Roots - so as soon as they came back from hiatus, we knew that was a match made in heaven.  Welcoming back old friends such as Unprocessed and Volumes, plus hosting returns from The Algorithm (live) and Textures, and introducing the RADAR community to some new bands we’ve discovered is exactly what we do best - and housing it at our new home is Magna is the perfect start to our next chapter.

We’re adding a new space: a
RADAR pub! We don’t have time to run it ourselves - so we’ve outsourced that to a landlord collective calling themselves Pintglass.  The pub will be a separate unit, called The Geezer’s Arms, and we’ve been assured that they know what they’re doing. Bring on 2027; see you in Sheffield."

RADAR will be moving to the very exciting new location of Magna, Sheffield. A former steelworks and now science adventure centre, the unique venue is the perfect new location for one of the UK's favourite forward-thinking festivals.

RADAR - the UK's most exciting progressive music festival - will move to Sheffield's Magna for its 2027 edition, the seventh iteration of the festival.

RADAR pride themselves on providing a first home for the best international artists - previous years have seen Dirty Loops' (2022) and The Callous Daoboys' (2023) first UK shows; it was also the first festival to provide a headline slot for Sleep Token (2023).

RADAR was headlined by Welsh ragga metal legends Skindred, deathcore heavyweights Thy Art Is Murder, and technical metal titans Animals As Leaders, alongside a host of the world's best weird and wonderful heavy artists.

RADAR 2025 saw a stellar headline set from darkwave heavyweight Carpenter Brut and metalcore legends UNDERØATH, alongside some of the hottest talent from the UK and further afield.

RADAR 2024's Friday headliners - synth royalty The Midnight - made their UK festival debut in Manchester. Accompanying them were Saturday headliners TesseracT, as the UK prog metal titans delivered a special War Of Being album set. Finally, closing the festival on Sunday, modern progressive titans Leprous performed a world-first live, by request fan set.

RADAR 2023 had Friday headliners Sleep Token joining Periphery (Sunday) and Igorrr (Saturday) among a host of the best from the UK and global progressive underground.

RADAR capped their intensely impressive 2022 by winning the Best New Festival Award at the UK Festival Awards on 6th December in Manchester, and were shortlisted for Best Small Festival and Best Metropolitan Festival at 2023 and 2024's UK Festival Awards.

With their mixture of international talent and confirmed homegrown success, RADAR Festival has already positioned themselves as a champion of forward-thinking, guitar-led progressive music. No genre boundaries, welcome to all, RADAR Festival was launched in 2019 to acclaim, with performances from Animals As Leaders, Agent Fresco, Rolo Tomassi, among others. Following the COVID hiatus, RADAR Festival 2022 expanded to three days with triumphant appearances from Leprous, Haken, Dirty Loops, Plini, Conjurer, Soen and more.

Hold Tight!
