Earlier this year, Anberlin announced CURRENCY, the band's highly anticipated ninth studio album and the first full-length release to feature Matty Mullins as lead vocalist. Marking the beginning of a bold new chapter, CURRENCY builds on the momentum of 2024's Vega, where Mullins made his recording debut on two tracks, and signals a renewed creative energy for a band that has continually evolved throughout its nearly 25-year career. Produced by the band alongside Kellen McGregor (Memphis May Fire), the eleven-track album embraces both Anberlin's storied past and an exciting future, proving that growth and reinvention can coexist without sacrificing the band's unmistakable identity.

Vocalist Matty Mullins commented: “'TRENCHES' is a reminder that no one has to fight their darkest battles alone. It’s written from the perspective of someone who’s survived their own pain and is reaching back to say, ‘I’ve been where you are, and I’ll stand beside you until you make it through."

'TRENCHES' follows the release of rock bangers 'GRAVITY' and 'NEVERAFTER'.

Rather than looking back with hesitation, CURRENCY finds Anberlin moving forward with confidence. Drawing from a collection of previously unfinished songs while giving Mullins the space to leave his own creative mark, the album balances soaring rock anthems with deeply reflective moments, exploring themes of perseverance, vulnerability, and hope. Featuring standout tracks including 'Neverafter,' 'Highstakes,' and the emotionally resonant 'Trenches' featuring Switchfoot, CURRENCY reaffirms Anberlin's commitment to creating music that connects through honesty and resilience. More than simply the next album in the band's catalogue, CURRENCY is a statement of renewal—one that celebrates where Anberlin has been while embracing everything that lies ahead.

On the new record, vocalist Matty Mullins previously shared: “The overall theme of CURRENCY is what happens after everything you built your identity on falls apart. It’s a journey through heartbreak, loss, addiction, shame, and the lies we tell ourselves. Instead of staying in the wreckage, it’s about finding the strength to face the truth, let go of what was killing you, and become someone new. I believe that healing doesn’t begin when the pain ends, it begins when you finally stop running from it.”

Anberlin are currently on the road with longtime friends and alternative rock mainstays Switchfoot for an extensive run of tour dates later this year. The tour brings together two of the genre's most enduring and influential bands, giving fans the opportunity to experience Anberlin's next chapter live while celebrating a catalogue that has resonated for nearly 25 years. As the band ushers in a new era with CURRENCY, the upcoming shows promise a dynamic set that blends beloved fan favourites with the powerful new material, underscoring the renewed energy and excitement driving Anberlin forward.

Kingdom Of Giants share new single '10 Cent Martyr'

"This track for us was a way to branch out from the classic metalcore style riffs and try something that feels fresh once you get deeper into the album," says singer Dana Willax. "I got to experiment with a lot of vocal tones on this song and I really enjoy how big the contrast is between JT and I on this track."

About the album, Willax declares, "The last five years have been full of highs, lows, wins, losses, and roadblocks but at the end of the day we are just so happy and fortunate to continue making music that we love and to share it with anyone who cares to listen. We put our hearts and souls into this album and even though start to finish it only took us eight months, it's feels like it's 15 years in the making. I'm so thankful to the guys for everything they brought to the table in this process. It felt good to all be jammed into one room and hash out all our ideas in person like the good old days."

An intense urge to challenge convention has always driven Kingdom Of Giants. Their progression proved palpable across Every Wave of Sound [2013], Ground Culture [2014], All the Hell You've Got to Spare [2017], and Passenger [2020]. Along the way, the group shared the stage with everyone from Beartooth, Kittie, The Devil Wears Prada, and Fit For A King to Chelsea Grin and Born Of Osiris. They also earned acclaim from Outburn, Parade, New Noise Magazine, and more.  In a sense, all of these moments only laid the foundation for Usurper. Even though the various members live scattered across the West Coast, the collective made a conscious decision to collaborate in-person. The group gathered in Long Beach, Northern California, and Las Vegas. Marking another first, Willax took the reins as producer, mixer, and mastering engineer.  In the process, they managed to level up as a unit.

THE MOSAIC WINDOW unveil new single 'Lightning Be Thy Guide'

Black metal project THE MOSAIC WINDOW have released their second single, 'Lightning Be Thy Guide' taken from their forthcoming album Answered Prayers, due out 13th November via Vesperian.

Following lead single ‘What Sage Could Not Cleanse’, ‘Lightning Be Thy Guide’ reveals another side of the record. Trading sheer velocity for a more measured, mid-tempo approach, the track builds its weight through dynamic shifts and a brooding atmosphere, retaining the uncompromising edge at the heart of the project.

Stream ‘Lightning Be Thy Guide’ and pre-order Answered Prayers here:
https://tr.ee/vesperian_themosaicwindow

The solo project of Andrew Steven 'Skeletonhammer' Brown, also known for his work in Bone Abduction, THE MOSAIC WINDOW are taking a deliberate step back towards their roots on Answered Prayers. Where 2024’s Hemasanctum explored a more polished, progressive blend of death and black metal, the new album draws on the cold, fast and melodic traditions of first- and second-wave black metal.

Across its ten tracks, Answered Prayers explores a bleak, nihilistic vision of a poisoned world in which humanity’s only cure is its own erasure, enacted retroactively, centuries before the Industrial Revolution could ever begin.

Answered Prayers was mixed and mastered by Alex Sedin of Ghostalgy Productions, with Dmitry Kim (JINJER and others) contributing session drums. The album artwork was created by Luciana Nedelea, whose previous work includes Mare Cognitum and Sepulchral Curse.

German metalcore masters Rising Insane return with new single 'ESCALATION'

Following their highly praised album DEATHRACE, Rising Insane waste no time in delivering a brand-new single celebrating the beauty of the metal community. 'ESCALATION' is a high-energy, fast-paced metalcore track receiving a standalone release, despite originating from the DEATHRACE sessions.

Rising Insane on the new song:
“‘Escalation’ is an ode to the metal scene—to every fan, promoter, festival, and band that keeps this community alive. The song captures the powerful emotions that rise within us when we come together at concerts and become part of something bigger—a community built on mutual respect, tolerance, and togetherness, where, for a moment, we are one big family.

"It celebrates that moment when we lose ourselves and go wild together. When anger transforms into energy, loneliness turns into connection, and we surrender to the unstoppable current that carries us all forward. 'Escalation' is about that shared release—the raw energy, the unity, and the feeling of belonging that makes the metal scene so unique.”

Since their debut, RISING INSANE have evolved from a fierce independent quintet into a global heavy-hitter, amassing millions of streams across their previous catalogue. Their journey to the top has been defined by elite company, having shared stages with genre icons like Papa Roach, Of Mice & Men, and Stray From the Path, transforming them into an unstoppable live force.

This momentum has now reached a fever pitch with their newest album, DEATHRACE, released August 2026. The record includes the standout track 'Good Enough' (feat. CASKETS), alongside the dark and mature 'Error' (feat. Steven Jones of Bleed From Within). Fans can also look forward to explosive new collaborations on the album with ACCVSED and David Schneider (The Butcher Sisters).

DEATHRACE marks the band’s most radical chapter yet, stripping away polished refinement in favour of raw power and primal riffs. It is a limit-breaking statement that finally pushes their sound to the absolute limit - RISING INSANE have never stood still, but now they are finally flooring it.

Charlotte Wessels' The Obsession announces new album Mute Swan Empire

Photo Credit: Tim Tronckoe / Collage: Nina Mathijsen

Dutch artist CHARLOTTE WESSELS and her band, now dubbed The Obsession, will release their second full-length, full-band studio album, Mute Swan Empire, on 5th February 2027, via Napalm Records. It’s a character-driven concept album in which each of its 15 tracks inhabits an archetype that emerges at the end of the Anthropocene, exploring how different people respond to climate breakdown, social injustice, and the collapse of familiar futures.

Pre-order Mute Swan Empire here: http://lnk.to/CharlotteWessels-MuteSwanEmpire/napalmrecords

Through these different characters, the former DELAIN vocalist forms a fractured portrait of humanity, revealing the many ways we confront collapse – with denial, rage, faith, withdrawal, hope, vengeance, and everything in between – all woven into a sonic multiverse that defies genre-categorization.

The album arrives just in time for CHARLOTTE WESSELS’ first-ever headlining tour across Europe and the UK, kicking off on 4th February 2027, in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium, one day prior to the album release.

CHARLOTTE WESSELS commented on the album: “I didn't set out to write a concept record from the start, but somewhere along the way, I began to realise that all the latest songs I’d written were connected. Each of them seemed to embody a different response to the world we're living in: denial, complicity, withdrawal, blind obedience, selective empathy, but also hope and connection, and so on. I started to recognise these recurring themes and archetypes, and eventually realised they were all part of a much bigger story. I found myself wanting to follow this thread as far as it would take me, exploring the concept through the music first, and eventually through the artwork and imagery too.

"That discovery became the foundation for Mute Swan Empire. What fascinates me is how easy it is to recognise these responses in others, and how much harder it can be to recognise them in ourselves. I didn't want an album that simply points fingers or offers easy answers. I wanted to explore the contradictions, the uncomfortable grey areas, and the possibility that we can change.

"Musically, the same freedom to follow wherever a song leads has resulted in a record that moves between some of the heaviest music we've made and moments of vulnerability. Despite how varied the record is, I think we've never sounded more together like a band. Everyone brings something distinct to the music, and I'm really proud of what happens when all those elements come together."

Mute Swan Empire is driven not only by the current state of the world but also by human responses to it and by how deeply entrenched some people can become in those. In addition, Charlotte drew inspiration from books, poetry, film, and literature, and the record incorporates words by two medieval mystics, Hildegard von Bingen ('In Leta Via') and Julian of Norwich (“The Hermit Song”), as well as text from the Dutch “Denk Vooruit” campaign on 'Emergency Kit.' 'One Day They Will Come For You' is inspired by Martin Niemöller’s post-war confessional prose piece 'First They Came For The Communists,' while 'Bells Of Lynn' was inspired by and incorporates fragments of the poem of the same name by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow.

Charlotte’s work on Mute Swan Empire had already begun before she finished her previous record, The Obsession (2024). Since 2020, she has released a new song every month through her Patreon page, and her favorite tracks eventually make it onto her public albums. The earliest song to appear on Mute Swan Empire in a rearranged form is 'Incantations,' which was originally released on Patreon in March 2024. Compared to CHARLOTTE WESSELS’ previous release, Mute Swan Empire features a more band-focused sound. The album was produced by Charlotte and Joost van den Broek at Sandlane Recording Facilities, where it was also mixed. In addition to Charlotte and The Obsession, the album also features Elianne Anemaat on cello on several tracks, as well as orchestral and additional keyboard arrangements by Vikram Shankar.

Mute Swan Empire is a work of art that serves as both a wake-up call and a dreamlike experience. With her truly unique artistic vision, CHARLOTTE WESSELS has created the most remarkable music of her career to date, proving why she deserves to be recognised as one of the most outstanding artists in today’s heavier music scene.

In February 2027, CHARLOTTE WESSELS will take The Obsession on their very first headline tour, spanning major cities across Europe and the United Kingdom, with Melissa Bonny, vocalist of modern metal outfit AD INFINITUM, joining as support. The tour will kick off on February 4, 2027, in Sint-Niklaas, Belgium, and conclude on February 27, 2027, in CHARLOTTE WESSELS’ hometown of Utrecht, the Netherlands. Before that, CHARLOTTE WESSELS and The Obsession will head to Brazil and Argentina in December.

Blackened thrashers Wraith release new single 'Over The Top'

Indiana-based blackened thrash/speed metallers Wraith have released their new track 'Over The Top'. The second single to be taken from the band’s forthcoming World War I-themed album Descent Into Darkness arrives ahead of the record’s release on 13th November via Prosthetic Records.

An ominous bass line crawls beneath a creeping guitar groove before vocalist/guitarist Matt Sokol sneers, “Go,” and the track erupts into high gear. Capturing the fear and tension of soldiers poised to leave the relative safety of their foxhole, 'Over The Top' builds from a slow, foreboding crawl into a frantic charge, driven by menacingly melodic lead guitar.

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/INWZiF7VI60

Find physical preorders here and digital preorders here.

On the new single and video, vocalist Matt comments: “It’s my interpretation of what it would be like to go ‘Over The Top,’ which is the military expression for entering the battlefield from the trenches. This character isn’t sure what’s going to happen, the whistle blows, and it’s time. The momentum of the track is similar. It goes from slow and plodding to fast.”

With Wraith, what you see is what you get. Favouring focus and fire over frills and flash, the Indiana quartet, Matt Sokol (vocals, guitar), Jason Schultz (guitar), Chris Petkus (bass) and Mike Szymendera (drums), summon the speed of old-school thrash through a prism of 21st century extreme metal accelerated at a breakneck pace. The Midwest-bred outfit allows the riffs, solos, furious beats, and haunting lyrics to speak on their behalf, conjuring imagery with the high-octane action of a big-screen historical epic.

“It’s relentless,” says Sokol. “It’s fast, but it’s simultaneously crushing and heavy. We always say, ‘We’re a no-gimmicks thrash metal band’. We try to make the live show as intense as listening to the record in your car really loudly. When we play, it’s lean and mean. We definitely let the music do the talking.”

Recorded during 2026 with co-producer CJ Rayson, Descent Into Darkness sees Sokol draw more directly than ever on his background as a historian and history teacher. Much of the album is rooted in WWI, with individual songs drawing from different battles, periods and perspectives from the conflict.

“I majored in history, and now I’m a tenth-grade history teacher,” he notes. “I find a lot of inspiration from certain eras, so Descent Into Darkness is heavily themed around WWI. Most of the songs pull from some battle or phase of conflict. Even the artwork depicts a battlefield with a reaper in the clouds. We’re telling stories from various perspectives. I’m interested in what these events were like for the people you don’t necessarily read about: the folks working in the mills or the soldiers who didn’t want to be there. I try my best to envision the experience within the music.”

In an early review of the record, The Song Review echoes the sentiment, “Digging in their heels, they've entrenched themselves in the perfect middle ground between Seasons In The Abyss-era Slayer and Behemoth at their fastest. At the same time, these Midwest marauders wield history like a weapon, mining subject matter like WWI as inspirational fodder thanks to frontman, vocalist, and guitarist Matt Sokol’s job as a high school history teacher.”

With Descent Into Darkness, Wraith take everything that has defined them, speed, aggression, stripped-back songwriting and an unapologetic love of thrash and give it a darker purpose. “We’re doing our best to push the boundaries,” Sokol concludes. “I’m immensely proud of this body of work. We’ve matured, but it’s still a Wraith record.”

Matt Sokol – vocals, rhythm guitar, leads
Mike Szymendera – drums, backing vocals
Chris Petkus – bass, backing vocals
Jason Schultz – rhythm guitar, leads, backing vocals

Future Static release heartwrenching new single 'Waterworks'

Australian breakthrough heavy act Future Static return to their post-hardcore roots with their new heartwrenching single 'Waterworks', taken from their new album Ornaments & Memories, out 6th November via Wild Thing Records.

Watch the video for 'Waterworks' here: https://youtu.be/ezwdGRkVbak

Pre-order the new album here: https://orcd.co/ornamentsandmemories

'Waterworks' is a song about experiencing negatively aimed tunnel-vision, self-sabotage, and inescapable meltdowns, expressed through a recognisable yet fresh convergence of lamenting chords, panic-inducing guitar leads and rhythmic chaos. An unexpectedly fun sing-along for those who are so sick of crying into the void alone.

Vocalist Amariah Cook comments: “This song is from a time where I became completely tunnel-visioned, all I could see were the obstacles getting closer every time, and when I tried to steer away I'd just crash into another one. It eventuated into self-hatred, panic attacks, meltdowns, which impacted some of the people closest to me. I was too caught in the cycle to see the bigger picture. I unloaded exactly how I was feeling in ‘Waterworks’, and am grateful to have had somewhere to store all these awful feelings for a little while rather than lugging them around in my own body, and what better place than splayed over some filthy riffs and chugs.”

Future Static’s eagerly awaited second album displays a darker and more philosophical side than their debut LP Liminality, exploring internal and external conflict, growth, change and love. Amongst bouncy riffs and soul crushing breakdowns, passionate guitar solos and leads, dramatically stacked vocal parts and frantic drum fills, this album is musically and thematically inspired by the ebbs and flows of living in a rapidly accelerating world.

Melbourne five-piece phenomenon Future Static are carving their position among the one of the most exciting forces in modern metalcore. Following the success of their #1 Australian AIR-charting debut album Liminality (2023), the band have rapidly risen through Australia’s heavy scene and beyond, earning critical acclaim from Kerrang!, Metal Hammer, and Triple J, whilst touring extensively across Australia; including supporting Babymetal, Electric Callboy, Jinjer, Enter Shikari, Don Broco, Lacuna Coil and TesseracT. International touring has included EU/UK headline shows, supporting Ankor and Humanity’s Last Breath, and multiple prestigious European festival appearances; including Sziget (HU), Radar (UK), Reeperbahn (DE) and Euroblast (DE).

Blending technical precision with melodic chaos, Future Static's sound is both striking and emotionally raw - a reflection of personal struggle, resilience, and self-discovery. Led by their breathtaking lead vocal tandem, a magical chemistry of electrifying front-woman Amariah Cook and bassist Kira Neil, and backed by guitarists Ryan Qualizza and Jack Smith, and drummer Jackson Trudel’s intense musicality and blazing fury, Future Static have taken Australia’s live circuit by storm.

Australian metalcore quartet Reliqa announce new album 'High Risk Thoughts' & stream new single

Australian metalcore quartet Reliqa have today announced their second album High Risk Thoughts, which lands 12th February via Nuclear Blast.

To commemorate the moment, the quartet have also revealed the record's opening track, the titanic 'Serum'.

Watch the video for 'Serum': https://youtu.be/wc3spRYZ5BY
Stream: https://reliqa.bfan.link/serum
Pre-order High Risk Thoughts: https://reliqa.bfan.link/high-risk-thoughts

The band comment: "'Serum'’s sound represents a sort of bridge from where we were to where we are now, so it felt apt to have it not only open the new record but also mark its announcement to the world. It's low and menacing with a mechanical edge (heavily inspired by the Danish prog legends VOLA), but we’ve also loaded it with some fun twists and turns, all part of our long-held goal to condition our listeners to expect the unexpected and be open-minded. This is the only song on the record that we’ve been consistently playing live for some time now and the reception has been full of energy, giving us high hopes for the rest of the album’s verdict."

Reliqa's debut full-length, Secrets of the Future (2024) was a wonderfully compelling and thoughtful look at what may be possible for the Sydney modern metalcore upstarts. Since then, so much of what they hoped would take place, has.

Racking up over four million streams on Secrets of the Future alone, cementing themselves as a mainstay in the Australian heavy scene, touring nationally with Northlane, Periphery, performing at Good Things and Life's A Beach festivals, and, most importantly, finding their feet as a headlining band, the quartet reached a level that had been the aim ever since they were kids.

Now, the band stand on the edge of a precipice, ready to release their incredible second album High Risk Thoughts. An album that is not just a cementing of so many of the factors that have allowed Reliqa to get to this point, but a mature extension and thrilling expansion of who and what they want to be as they move forward.

Musically, it looks to the greats of the modern genre. Shimmering with the ethereal tranquillity and gorgeous melodic control of Spiritbox at their most open; flickering with the pulsating synths and heightened tension underpinning Northlane; engaging with the forward-moving embracing of change of Bring Me The Horizon - High Risk Thoughts is an album that reaches for the stars.

Lyrically, it builds on the idea that we should give ourselves more grace in the life we are living. A sense of love, understanding and patience embedded into every crystalline refrain and soaring chorus. A reminder that by even considering how to make even more of a splash than you already have, you have already won, and that should be noted and celebrated, no matter where it lands you.

Together, it creates a record as inspiring as it is intense, as spine-tingling as it is sincere, as boundless as it is bludgeoning. A significant factor in keeping everything in check is that the band continues to keep things close to home and DIY at heart.

Reliqa will be touring North America for the very first time, in support of Northlane (dates listed below). As they transform from Australia's best-kept secret to one of their most exhilarating, exuberant and electric exports, Reliqa are fast becoming the figurehead to show what doing things your own way can achieve.

Graveyard release highly-anticipated new album 'Fever'

Rock titans GRAVEYARD have officially released their highly anticipated seventh studio album, Fever, out today worldwide via Nuclear Blast Records. Coinciding with the album’s arrival, the band has premiered an official lyric video for the album’s energetic opening track, ‘Back From The Grave’.

Right from the needle drop, the captivating groove of ‘Back From The Grave’ makes it unmistakably clear where the band is headed this time around: a triumphant return to GRAVEYARD’s heavy psych and heavy blues roots. Channelling the electrifying, vintage power of legendary albums like their much-loved classic Hisingen Blues, the track sets an explosive tone for the entire record - drenched in thick fuzz and fueled by a relentless rhythm section while still maintaining their soul-soaked grit.

The accompanying lyric video perfectly mirrors the hypnotic drive of ‘Back From The Grave’, pairing the track's infectious momentum with vintage visual styling that highlights the raw, bluesy swagger of the opening anthem.

Watch here: https://youtu.be/2g-pE4dObc4

Mixed by Pelle Gunnerfeldt - widely renowned for capturing the ferocious live energy of bands like The Hives, Refused, and Viagra Boys - and mastered by Robin Schmidt at 24-96 Mastering, Fever captures the unvarnished, high-voltage power of the Swedish quartet at full tilt.

Complemented by the record's bold visual identity created by Dutch artist Maarten Donders, Fever marks a celebrated return to form for the two-time Swedish chart-toppers. To mark today's release, GRAVEYARD will launch a co-headlining Scandinavian tour alongside BLUES PILLS, ahead of extensive European and UK tours throughout 2027.

As of today you can (and should!) stream Fever in full or purchase a physical copy via the link below.
