Hamburg's metalcore powerhouse half me have released their highly anticipated sophomore album DOGMA, out today via Arising Empire. At its core, DOGMA is a reflection on a society willingly participating in its own collapse. The album explores how fear, manipulation and manufactured division have become powerful instruments of control, shaping a world in which people are increasingly distracted from questioning the systems surrounding them. As truth and lies become indistinguishable, humanity finds itself trapped in a cycle of ignorance, obedience and self-destruction.

Guitarist Russell Marsden described the single by saying: “'Bitter Dream' is a song about being haunted by our dreams. A persistent longing and melancholy, that can only be quelled with the strength of a new love. Featuring Iona Alven on vocals, this song has one foot firmly in darkness and one stepping towards the light. It’s direct, heavy where it needs to be, and unmistakably Band of Skulls. It feels like where the band is right now - and where we want to go.”
About signing to FLG, he added: “I’m thrilled to be working with Frontiers Label Group as we move into an exciting new chapter for the band. We’re focused on what’s ahead – creating new music, building on the connection we have with our fans, and continuing to evolve while staying true to the sound they love. Their support continues to drive us forward, and we can’t wait for them to hear what’s next.”
Band of Skulls will next perform on 6th November, headlining the Rock n Roll Freakshow Experience at Brixton Electric. Tickets available here: https://dice.fm/event/yoql3p-rock-n-roll-freak-show-wband-of-skulls-vylan-dj-6th-nov-electric-brixton-london-tickets

Their debut album, Baby Darling Doll Face Honey, arrived in 2009, introducing the band's signature combination of gritty guitar riffs, dual vocal harmonies and raw energy through songs including 'I Know What I Am' and 'Death By Diamonds And Pearls.'
The band followed with Sweet Sour in 2012 and Himalayan in 2014, the latter produced by acclaimed producer Nick Launay. Along the way, Band of Skulls toured with some of the biggest names in rock, including Muse, Queens of the Stone Age, Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Black Keys, while appearances at Coachella, Glastonbury, on Late Show with David Letterman and Later… with Jools Holland further cemented their international reputation.
In recent years, Band of Skulls have continued to evolve while maintaining a strong presence both live and through the continued use of their music across film and television, including the popular series of movies, The Twilight Saga. At a recent homecoming show in Southampton, Marsden introduced a new line-up and gave fans an early indication of new material to come, alongside plans for a deluxe box set celebrating the band's first three records.
With their new partnership with FLG, Band of Skulls are ready to build on their remarkable history while looking firmly ahead to the next phase of their career.

Irish metal troupe SINK have released their third single, 'The Fear'.
'The Fear' delivers a fluid mash-up of catchy hip-hop inspired flows, thrashy neck-breaking riffs and unapologetic passion. Following the positive reception of the five-piece's debut 'One Mind' and their experimental drama-drenched follow-up 'Shells', 'The Fear' is a heady combination of sounds that once again prove the band defy genre specifications.
Stream here: https://youtu.be/hG2D3Y5UqZA
The lyrics hone in on the importance of change, and the terror that comes hand-in-hand with it. As the band comment: "As the first song SINK wrote, we really wanted to portray the intensity we feel playing this live. It's one of those songs we feel in our bones. The video is definitely a good reflection of that. The flows and grooves are very hip-hop inspired. We always aim for a fresh approach to our genre-bending. Morgan Beausang (glasseyed) who mixed the song has history in both hip-hop and metal, so the match was perfect. 'The Fear' touches on anxiety that comes hand in hand with change and attempting to over-come that. The relentless repetition in the verses mimics the anxiety one feels overthinking and dwelling on their worries however we wanted the call and response chorus to feel uplifting and hopeful for the listener."
The video for 'The Fear' was directed and edited by the band's vocalist Roy Geary, and filmed by Denis Cretu of VESPERS, with additional filming and visual design by Marta Okulicz of OhCoolDesign. Filmed in SINK's home country in County Kildare and Dublin City, the video captures the intensity of a SINK performance, where every whack of the snare holds a purpose, where the band always give in completely.
With distinctive riffs and catchy vocal hooks, matched with intense live performances, SINK formed in Dublin, Ireland in late 2025, forming from the ashes of local bands - each respectively making waves within the alternative scene.
SINK's philosophy is refreshingly no-limits - and their passion shows in every note, lyric, and live show. SINK is a project from the heart, born purely from the desire to reach people, moving their primal instincts with powerful songs and energetic performance.
The band's inspirations are broad, and shine through. Each of the five members bring unique influences to the table from classic hip-hop (Nas, MF DOOM) to a wide range of alternative (Twenty-One Pilots, Turnstile, Bring Me The Horizon) - never boxing themselves into one specific sound.

Finnish industrial metal pioneers TURMION KÄTILÖT proudly announce the release of their highly anticipated twelfth studio album, Resodance, out today 22nd October via Nuclear Blast Records. The new record marks another milestone in the band's evolution, seamlessly blending their signature electronic-infused metal chaos with deep, conceptual artistry.
To celebrate the global release, the band has also dropped an epic, visually stunning music video for the new focus track, ‘Näe Minut’.
Watch the video for 'Näe Minut' here: https://youtu.be/WgM2lXSwapw
Produced by Mikko Tegelman alongside the band, Resodance masterfully captures the raw intensity and immediacy of TURMION KÄTILÖT's legendary live performances. At the same time, it introduces a carefully constructed conceptual framework that sets it apart from traditional releases.
As vocalist and co-founder MC Raaka Pee describes it:
"Resodance completes a circle while continuing an endless cycle, much like the Ouroboros – the eternal serpent devouring its own tail. Every song represents an hour, every note its own colour and character. Across twelve tracks unfolds a continuous dance of resonance, where every moment finds its own distinct tone."
This overarching philosophy runs deep throughout the record. Rather than simply delivering another collection of individual songs, Resodance presents a dynamic, 12-track journey where tension, melody, and heavy industrial rhythms constantly interact. The result is a sonic experience that feels both grandly cinematic and aggressively immediate.

The strategic release of Resodance serves as the perfect fuel for the band's most massive headlining milestone to date.
On 24th October, tomorrow, TURMION KÄTILÖT will host their monumental "Colossal Disco" event at the legendary Helsinki Ice Hall (Helsingin Jäähalli).
Several thousand fans are set to pack the arena, ready to bring the ice-ring to a definitive boil.
To further support the new release, the band will take their legendary, high-octane live show across Europe in February 2027. The tour promises to bring the industrial dance floor to life, featuring a mix of brand-new tracks from Resodance alongside fan-favourite anthems.

St. Louis quartet dead7 — Jason Kozik [vocals], Dexter Greer [guitar], Tim Quinn [guitar], Stephen Salyer [bass], and Zach Guinn [drums] — returned last month with the video for new single 'Cannibal.'

'Feels Like' is an anthem of self-empowerment and accountability. It opens with a starkly impactful, militaristic beat alongside spoken word-like vocals before erupting like a long-festering volcano.
"'Feels Like' goes along with the theme of navigating happiness," explains Kozik. "It's a song that defines the struggle a person may face when trying to accept who they are and how to be happy with themselves. It sometimes feels impossible when you've been in a negative headspace for so long. When it comes to being happy, the one person that may be holding you back is yourself."
dead7 temper thick guitar-driven grooves with entrancing electronics, ethereal keys, and evocative vocals. After amassing millions of streams and building buzz independently, the band's immersive vision underscored their full-length debut LP, LOVE WHAT YOU CAN WHILE YOU GOT SOMETHING LEFT TO LOVE (SharpTone Records).

Following their spectacular collaboration with Skindred’s Benji Webbe on 'More Of Us (Than There Are Of Them)', British alt-metal outfit Defences returns with their striking new single 'Death Of A Dream.' The track explores the bittersweet grief of relinquishing an old vision for the future, celebrating the liberation that comes with stepping fully into your own power.
Watch the video for 'Death Of A Dream' here: https://youtu.be/HXlGnC2lUCk
Stream the single here: https://defences.lnk.to/deathofadream
“Sometimes you have to allow an old dream to die to make space for a life that actually feels like yours,” explains vocalist Cherry Duesbury.
Blending the band’s signature melodic catchiness with nu metal and EDM influences, 'Death Of A Dream' lands squarely in the realm of Spiritbox, The Plot In You, and Bad Omens. The single perfectly sets the stage for Defences as they prepare for their upcoming UK tour alongside Future Palace this autumn, with a European run already in the works for 2027.
Catch the band on tour this autumn:
04.11. UK, London - The Garage /w Future Palace
05.11. UK, Manchester - Academy 3 /w Future Palace
06.11. UK, Glasgow - Slay /w Future Palace
07.11. UK, Leeds - Key Club /w Future Palace
Singer Cherry Duesbury comments the theme of the song: "‘Death of a Dream’ is the product of laying some of my deepest desires and wishes to rest. It’s all about the difference between subconsciously leaving a dream behind and fully accepting that the path has closed, which is made exponentially harder when what you’re leaving behind is a future you once believed you wanted above all else. While there is real grief in that realisation, the whole point of this song is that self-actualisation is a violent, destructive act that is necessary to allow the creation of a new life from the ashes of an old one.
"The writing process for ‘Death of a Dream’ almost felt supernatural in how quickly and clearly the lyrics came to me, which is fitting given it was written on the summer solstice! “I get to decide how I wanna show up” was the first line I wrote and it wasn't just a hook, it was the thought the entire song grew from. It was almost as if my future self was telling me what I needed to hear in that moment following a total upheaval in my life and the birth of a new chapter. It was a refreshing change to stop thinking about how I reach self-acceptance and instead to start enjoying the fact that I had already achieved it. This whole song feels like a future version of myself telling me to stop searching for absolution, to choose myself, take up space and step into who I am. I can hear that voice telling me: “You’re already here, so start acting like it!”
Known for their eclectic blend of synth-heavy melodies and crushing riffs, fronted by the distinctive tones of singer Cherry Duesbury, Defences have taken modern metalcore to the next level. Across a decade, two EPs, and three LPs, themes of introspection, self-reflection, and inner strength remain front and centre - delivering self-acceptance-core at its finest.
The British group has built a formidable live reputation across the UK and Europe, sharing stages with RØRY, Future Palace, Trash Boat, and Redhook alongside selling out their own headline shows and landing major festival slots. With over 15 million streams to date and features across flagship streaming playlists, Defences continue their steady rise.
