BLACK CROWN INITIATE announce new album and debut new track

Pennsylvania metallers BLACK CROWN INITIATE return with new album Selves We Cannot Forgive, set for release on 22 July via Long Branch / SPV, and unveil new track For Red Cloud:

http://soundcloud.com/longbranchrecords/black-crown-initiate-for-red-cloud

For Red Cloud is the first new music released the band since their highly acclaimed debut album Wreckage of Stars in 2014. Guitarist Andy Thomas calls the song "a statement of the psychological enslavement of the modern world, and a tribute to those who resisted being enslaved. We will never become the storm of change that our world needs. Our children will never know what true freedom feels like, and we surely don't, either."

The single is available to download here: https://BlackCrownInitiate.lnk.to/ForRedCloudPR

Selves We Cannot Forgive’s visually stunning cover art was created by Travis Smith (Opeth, Devin Townsend, Avenged Sevenfold), which can be seen below along with the track-listing. "We've been through a great deal as a band since our last release," says Thomas. "We've grown a great deal as writers, players, and people and put everything we had into this one."

Thomas continues on their new release, "we feel it is a more than fitting next chapter for the band; one that we are truly proud and excited to enter. We hope you all enjoy it too. See you on the road!"

The new record follows The Wreckage of Stars, which together with their self-financed Song of the Crippled Bull EP introduced BCI’s unapologetic exploration of everything from Friedrich Nietzsche and Greek Sophist Gorgias to Hinduism, Buddhism, and indigenous mysticism, with a pragmatic skepticism. The Wreckage of Stars in particular propelled the band into the international touring act it is today, hitting the road with the likes of Behemoth, Deicide, Napalm Death, Voivod and more.

BLACK CROWN INITIATE have worked their way into the heavy music community’s collective consciousness with steady determination. Like-minded supporters who made the thrilling discovery of songs like “A Great Mistake,” “The Fractured One,” and “Withering Waves” are rewarded in kind by the continued evolution on Selves We Can Not Forgive. BLACK CROWN INITIATE continuously prove heavy metal and heavy intelligence don’t have to be mutually exclusive. These men are conjuring an awe inspiring body of work that is as unstoppable as it was inevitable, like existence itself. This is high-minded art delivered with a guttural growl.

Track listing:
1. For Red Cloud
2. Sorrowpsalm
3. Again
4. Belie The Machine
5. Selves We Cannot Forgive
6. Transmit To Disconnect
7. Matriarch
8. Vicious Lives

Chilean prog rockers AISLES unveil details of forthcoming studio album: Two-disc concept LP Hawaii due in July

Chilean prog rockers AISLES are delighted to announce their highly anticipated new album Hawaii, due July 29 via Presagio Records. The two-disc concept LP, the band's fourth studio album, will be available on both CD and digitally, with the vinyl edition due in November.

Hawaii is a two-disc concept album about human colonies in space after the destruction of the Earth. Its twelve tracks explore the dilemmas and challenges that the individual and the human spirit would face in such a scenario. Regarding the concept and sound of the album, guitarist and producer Germán Vergara explains: "Without a doubt it’s our most profound work so far. With Hawaii we dug deep in search of a concept that could really move us. Our objective was to write music that would emotionally and mentally take us to the place where the events in the album occur: Space”.

“All the music on the album was written with our hearts and minds set on the idea of these human colonies, a small group of people who are able to preserve some of the heritage of mankind after the Earth is destroyed. Musically speaking we had never taken so many risks, tried so many different approaches and allowed ourselves this level of freedom to improvise and experiment. I am really proud of what we’ve achieved this time".

A shining example of prog rock's universal reach, the Chilean band, formed 15 years ago, have a long and illustrious history. Previously nominated in the Italian Prog Awards, the band are the only South American band to be invited to France's Crescendo Festival de Rock Progressif.

HACKTIVIST release new video 'Hate' ahead of Issues tour and Slam Dunk

Milton Keynes crossover trailblazers HACKTIVIST have released new video 'Hate' ahead of their tour supporting Issues and Slam Dunk Festival appearances.

Watch the video here:

'Hate' was filmed and edited by Hacktivist bassist Josh Gurner - on a budget of almost £10 - in the band’s lunch-breaks and days off from work, and gives a glimpse into their everyday lives. He had this to say on the subject of the track and video:

"Lyrically, Hate deals with the phenomenon of the simmering jealousy that manifests itself as online bile when people see what they perceive as a glimpse of “success". I wanted to address that in the video, and also add a twist on the idea that we’re living in an age where people seem to get the majority of their entertainment from a stylised version of ‘reality', and even the most low-level 'famous' person exists publicly as a idealised version of themselves."

"The video shows a day-in-the-life of the members of HACKTIVIST, and highlights the duality of our lives as the touring musicians that people see on a stage, in a video or on an album cover, and the more mundane ‘real' lives that make up the majority of most band members' time.

"Hopefully anyone watching the video will see something they relate to, and maybe makes someone think twice before hating on blokes in bands who’re just doing stuff to add colour to their own existences. Also we hope it creates a more personal connection with fans of the band, and maybe instills in them a feeling that they could follow their passion too, as we’re all just regular people at the end of the day”.

HACKTIVIST hit the road from today with Issues:

May-25    Koko, London, United Kingdom
May-26    O2 Ritz, Manchester, United Kingdom
