Massachusetts metal powerhouse WITHIN THE RUINS have debuted new single "Death Of The Rockstar," exclusively via Revolver Magazine and will release their new album Halfway on 3 March via Longbranch / SPV.

"Death of the Rockstar stems from our distaste for the current state of the music industry," says guitarist Joe Cocchi. "Death Of The Rockstar" is the first track released off their forthcoming LP. "The song is straight forward and speaks for itself. We live in an era where mindlessness and fads now trump true art and creativity. The music industry is polluted. Please enjoy."

The new track is available on all major streaming services and will be offered as a free download to fans who pre-order the album.

WITHIN THE RUINS will release Halfway Human on Friday, March 3 2017 via Long Branch Records (Europe) and Entertainment One (Rest of the world). The band recorded the new effort from their own studio with producer and guitar player Joe Cocchi at the helm. Vocal production took place at Zing studios in Westfield, MA with Jim Fogarty (Killswitch Engage, The Devil Wears Prada).

"The writing process was a bit different for this album," says Cocchi. "We took a step back and kind of reviewed some of our older material. Typically we'd rush and blast out a group of songs and then hit the studio. At the time it felt right. And It had a more organic feel. Now because of a combination of maturity and honestly just feeling sick of the same old formula, we really focused on creating something different sounding."

Halfway Human will be the band's followup to the critically acclaimed Phenomena LP released in 2014 which Metal Injection called a "well refined album with more surprises than one would expect." Cocchi concludes, "We went back to a more organic style of writing and production. I personally was finally able to abandon a lot of my writing habits or 'rules,' if you will. No more 'oh, that part doesn't really sound like us, have to change that,' type of bullshit. Doing that created a fresher sound. This is the most raw and extreme sounding material we've ever written. Keep an eye out for studio blogs and more updates."

Born and bred in the same heavy metal rich Northeast soil as New Wave Of American Heavy Metal progenitors Killswitch Engage, All That Remains, Unearth and Shadows Fall and weaned on the dark sounds of classic death metal, the technical melodicism of Scandinavia and the precision staccato crunch of Meshuggah, Within The Ruins have busted their collective ass to carve out a unique identity for themselves from those ingredients.

Within The Ruins are refreshingly authentic, feverishly committed and have proven that they will endure. Filled with power, deserving of utter respect, armed with concise compositions and technical might, Within The Ruins will not be stopped.

BLACK MAP announce new album - first single released

"In Droves" will be released on 10.03.2017 via Long Branch Records. New single "Run Rabbit Run" available today.

US rock outfit BLACK MAP have debuted new song 'Run Rabbit Run', taken from their all new LP In Droves coming out next year. “The song is one of my favourites on the record and definitely one of the most intense,” says frontman and bass player Ben Flannagan. “It also really encompasses a lot of what the whole album is about: the damage that’s caused by just blindly following and veering from our individuality; from the elements that make each of us unique.”

'Run Rabbit Run' is available on all major streaming services and will be offered as an iTunes free download for fans who pre-order the album.

Listen to 'Run Rabbit Run' here:

BLACK MAP will release In Droves on Friday 10 March 2017 via Long Branch Records (Europe) and Entertainment One (Rest of world). The band wrapped up production on the effort last month with Aaron Hellam at Oakland’s Hellam Sound (The Trophy Fire) and created an ambitious but no less intense sophomore set, a boundary-smashing, down-tuned heavy rock slab.

The band is the union of three established Northern California rock musicians, driven by a shared dedication to big riffs, big drums and powerful, straight-ahead, all enveloping rock n’ roll. Black Map consists of the versatile voice and walloping bass groove of Ben Flanagan (Trophy Fire), the wall-of-sound big riff histrionics of guitarist Mark Engles (dredg) and the unstoppable driving force and tasteful skill of drummer Chris Robyn (Far)

BLACK MAP combine flourishes of beauty alongside the bombast and a modern sensibility that nevertheless will not sacrifice its raw realness.

Their refreshingly unique psychedelic sound nods to greats such as David BowieThe Doors and Jane's Addiction, but reinvented with modern punk attitude and a dark yet positive energy.

-------------------------

Circle of Dust, the 90s industrial / electronic-rock project created by visionary artist/producer Klayton, marked the beginning of the musical career of the man who later went on to create independent success as Celldweller, as well as forming his own label – FiXT. Along with four full-length Circle of Dust albums in the 90s (Circle of Dust, Brainchild, Metamorphosis, Disengage), Klayton created a side-project under the name Argyle Park, which featured a vast collection of guest collaborators, including Tommy Victor of Prong, J.G. Thirlwell of Foetus and Mark Salomon (Stavesacre/Crucified).

Locked away collecting “dust” for 20+ years, the rights to the Circle of Dust & Argyle Park albums were unavailable to Klayton as the original labels they were signed to shut down in the mid-90s. After 2 decades of pursuing a deal to re-gain ownership of the albums, Klayton was finally able to reclaim the rights in 2015.

As Klayton began planning the remastering and re-release of the original albums, a new idea began to grow. He decided to not only re-release each album, but to fully resurrect the project and create a new full-length Circle of Dust album, to be released December 2016, nearly 20 years after the last release.

Not only are all the re-releases completely remastered, but each includes demos, unreleased bonus tracks, acoustic/alternate versions of tracks as well as some new remixes.

Progressive alternative dark rockers LUCID FLY release debut album - available to stream now!

US progressive dark rockers outfit LUCID FLY are eager to unveil their debut LP Building Castles In Air - released 11th November.

The album, first premiered via Prog, is available to stream here:

Soundcloud embed code available here.

Purchase the album here.

Breathing fresh air into the world of prog, Lucid Fly are an irresistible mixture of prog rock, alternative and dark rock. As suitable for fans of A Perfect Circle as Riverside, TesseracT or Dead Letter Circus, the band's new album was self-produced and mixed by the legendary Forrester Savell (Dead Letter Circus, Karnivool, Twelve Foot Ninja).

Singer Nikki Layne and guitarist, Doug Mecca say,

"Finishing Building Castles In Air is by far the biggest thing that we've ever pulled off as a band. Our goal was to create an full-length album, even though it seems like a trend to release singles and EPs. To us, a full album is that thing that defines a band, that complete package with the artwork and around 10 songs of music that were all created and released as a unit, and belong together and represent a moment in a band's creative path.

"In a way, we've been building up to this moment since we started playing music together. It's like we're meeting the world for the first time and can't wait to introduce ourselves.

Led by frontwoman Nikki Layne’s gorgeous throaty and ethereal vocals, new album Building Castles In Air is an inexorable freefall through their mysterious, anthemic, otherworldly soundscape. An album that ebbs and flows to beautiful effect, propelled by the peak of lead single 'Visions of Grandeur' above, or the militaristic bombast of closer ‘Paperthin’.

Nikki’s vocals are ably supported by Doug Mecca on guitars, whom she first met in Florida 18 years ago. After honing and evolving their sound with the release of three EPs, the band are ready to expand their sound with debut LP Building Castles In Air.

Following a successful crowdfunding campaign (raising $13k to record the LP), Lucid Fly were one of 17 invited by Mike Portnoy to play Progressive Nation at Sea’s 2014 event (New Millennium stage) alongside Periphery, Haken, Riverside and more.

Aphyxion release lyric video for new single 'Dark Stains On Ivory'

Danish modern metal 5-piece Aphyxion have released 'Dark Stains On Ivory', the explosive second single from their forthcoming album Aftermath which is out on the 2nd December via Prime Collective. 'Dark Stains On Ivory' follows the band's previous single 'Destined To Fail', which surpassed 100,000 streams across all digital platforms in a matter of weeks.

Guitarist/songwriter Jonas Haagensen says of the track:

"Dark Stains on Ivory is probably the most representative song for the album. This banger was one of the first songs we wrote after our debut album, all made to mark the new sound of our new album.”

Check out the lyric video here: https://youtu.be/tqsethnlDrA

Aftermath is an 11 track monstrous blend of aural savagery, which is set to make Denmark’s brightest hopes the fastest rising new band in Europe. Having honed in on their strengths: crushing riffs, gargantuan hooks and punchy song structures, their second album sees them step up their game to par with some of the biggest bands in today’s scene. This is all the impressive given that they are barely in their 20s.

Since forming, the band has played over 100 shows with dates on multiple European tours, a performance at Copenhell and one at Wacken, where the then 16-year-old members hold the record for being the youngest band to play the festival.

Aphyxion have been nominated for “Best Live Band” at the Danish Metal Awards, the “Audience Award” at Royal Metal Grand Prix and also have been recognized by Metal Hammer UK, Metal Hammer DE and UK broadsheet The Guardian. Again, this is all the more impressive for such a young band.

Aphyxion were produced by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Aborted, Primal Fear) and guitarist Jonas Haagensen at Hansen Studios in their home town of Ribe, Denmark.

The coming year will see the band tour far and wide in support of Aftermath.
