More info on CKY:

2017 will be a massive year for CKY, who have sold north of a million albums over the course of their nearly-20-year career. Fans can expect new music and more tour dates from a band that is re-energised and refreshed, and emerging with a career-defining effort that will prove to be worth the wait.

Chad I Ginsburg, the band’s guitarist and singer, steps into the frontman role with charisma, charm, and bravado, confidently delivering a diverse performance as he claims a position that was clearly rightfully his to own.

He’s joined in enduring partnership and musical and personal chemistry by fellow CKY cofounder, Jess Margera, the drummer whose extracurricular work in projects like The Company Band (with guys from Clutch and Fireball Ministry) expanded CKY’s horizons as much as Ginsburg’s solo work has as well. The duo returned to their primary project refreshed and reenergized, with bassist Matt Deis (ex-All That Remains), who first joined CKY in 2005.

Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, and Deftones have all personally invited CKY on tour, cementing a legacy as a hard-charging live act. CKY built a worldwide fanbase of dedicated acolytes, friends, and supporters, lovingly dubbed the CKY Alliance, with a broader group of musicians, athletes, and other creative types in the CKY family, both literally and figuratively.

“We’re grown adults now with an eagle-eye perspective on who we are, what we do, and how to do it right,” Ginsburg declares, with matter-of-fact certainty. “None of us are out there in the clouds. We’re pretty well-grounded people that have an honest perspective on where we’re at.”

"We have attempted to express the condition of the human mind that is an outcome of being brainwashed by corporate controlled social media, through a modern and classic feeling hardcore album,"explains Ben Cook of the band. "Kind of like the scene in Clockwork Orange, when Alex has the lid locks over his eyes and is being forced to watch horrific footage over and over again. We are trying to manifest that torturous feeling; that in a time like this even if you want to look away you can't escape the propagandized media, especially amidst the thick of an overpopulated garbage pumping world. The evolution we have experienced both mentally and physically, and the day-to-day panic and anxiety that we feel is actually a result of our own species' selfish and repulsive impulses."

On September 8th NO WARNING will set out on a North American tour, playing 20 shows before the tour's conclusion on October 1st.

The Contortionist release new video for 'Return To Earth' ahead of Clairvoyant album release
shot.jpg

CLAIRVOYANT DUE OUT SEPTEMBER 15, 2017

Progressive rockers THE CONTORTIONIST have released a new music video today for their track “Return To Earth” exclusively via PROG MAGAZINE

Watch it here: http://www.teamrock.com/news/2017-08-25/the-contortionist-return-to-earth-video

The video comes ahead of the band's stunning new LP Clairvoyant, released on 15 September via Entertainment One Music / Good Fight Music.

As vocalist Michael Lessard explains: “When making the 'Return to Earth' video we wanted to make sure it was cohesive in concept with 'Reimagined,'" says vocalist Michael Lessard.
“We made sure we took our time with the process. This video picks up where Reimagined left off, and can actually be played in succession with it. We couldn't be more pleased with the continuity and end result!” Directed by Erez Bader and produced by Lessard himself, the video is the band’s second from their forthcoming LP.

The new LP is the highly anticipated follow up to Language, the genre defying LP that continues to garner critical acclaim. Clairvoyant, which reunited the band with producer Jamie King (Between The Buried And MeThrough The Eyes Of The Dead), takes the best elements of The Contortionist’s past and reshapes them as the band follows their individual creative muses toward the future.

The band wrapped up a European tour with PERIPHERY earlier this summer highlighted by their first ever Download Festival performance. This fall the band will support BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME on the “Colors Ten Year Anniversary Tour.”

This comes as no surprise as the band boast an undeniably British stamp; a thick, multi-layered sound that is fast becoming Of Allies' trademark. For fans of Twin AtlanticLower Than Atlantis andFightstarOf Allies tread the lines between alternative rock, melodic rock and UK rock whilst always hinting at something darker.

FACES OF EVE are a band who stand above their peers in the British progressive metal scene. Melding elements of technical post-hardcore, metalcore, and tech metal, the young band are back with their Faces of Eve LP.

Reminiscent of Exit TenEmarosa, and Coheed and CambriaFACES OF EVE are led by Benjamin Black’s expressive clean vocals, and backed by the band's wickedly tight and furiously frenetic rhythm section. Unafraid at times to demonstrate a more pop and soulful sound, the band have a full-range of emotion on display on this fine debut.

Recorded with Timfy from Hacktivist, the band are certainly not slacking. A co-headline run with Lincoln tech-metallers Borders completed in the Spring; FACES OF EVE then went on to a short headline run at the end of June, along with a show supporting Drewsif Stalin in London. A further headline tour is pending for late summer.

A band who’ve previously played alongside Holding AbsenceNapoleonCrazy TownMartyr DefiledSlaughter To Prevail and more, FACES OF EVE could well be a band to watch in future.

ONI cover 'A Place For My Head' by Linkin Park as a tribute to Chester Bennington
IMG_0107.JPG

Canadian progressive metallers ONI have released a cover of 'A Place For My Head' byLinkin Park as a tribute to the late Chester Bennington

Listen here: https://youtu.be/fGiXU-JrIQ8

Chester and the band were a vital influence on ONI, as frontman Jake Oni explains: "Linkin Park were the first band that introduced me to heavier music which led me down my path of metal. Chester Bennington's voice and lyrics affected so many people, especially me. The world will not be the same without him. We decided to record this cover as a tribute to LP & Chester. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and fans."

ONI spent the summer in Europe touring their stunning debut album Ironshore, which included performances a tUK Tech Fest, Bloodstock and select dates with Death Angel.

Purchase Ironshore here: http://www.metalblade.com/europe/releases/oni-ironshore/

More information on ONI:

In Japanese folklore, the Oni is a malevolent shape-shifting demon, able to take on many guises as it spreads pain and misery. The constantly shifting, ever-evolving sound of Ontario, Canada's Oni is no less elusive, though unlike their namesake, amidst the brutality and violence, they weave great beauty, and a breadth of heartfelt emotion.

With their influences rooted in progressive metal, Oni's sound can be compared to the genre's heavy hitters - The Human Abstract, Protest The Hero and Between The Buried And Me - yet they remain truly unique. With Jake Oni handling vocal duties, Martin Andres and Brandon White on guitar, Chase Bryant on bass and Joe Greulich on drums, they are also perhaps the first metal band to feature a Xylo-synth player, in the form of Johnny D, which adds an intriguing dynamic to the nine tracks found on their full-length debut, Ironshore.

Presiding over the Ironshore sessions was producer Josh Wilbur (Lamb Of God, Gojira), who immediately understood what Oni was trying to achieve. Through this connection, the band was able to reach out to Lamb Of God vocalist Randy Blythe, who contributes his inimitable style to 'The Only Cure' - one of Ironshore's heaviest moments, as well as naming the record.

With their debut album release now under their belts, the band has now set their sights on conquering the music world, one show at a time.
