THE HIRSCH EFFEKT have released their new single and video 'BERCEUSE' following their charting new album Eskapist which was released 18th August via Long Branch/SPV.

Charting at #21 in the official German charts, Eskapist is socially critical, caustically political and musically overwhelming, a true lesson in progressive metal, prog and core. Following their awe-inspiring Holon album trilogy, The Hirsch Effekt delve deep into the darkest corners of their mind and talent to craft their most extreme and complex chapter in the form of their new album Eskapist

All three band members – drummer Moritz Schmidt, guitarist and singer Nils Wittrock and bassist and singer Ilja John Lappin – shared the writing duties of this staggering record and worked with Tim Tautorat (who has previously worked with In Flames, Manic Street Preachers), Max Trieder and various guest musicians in Hanover, Leipzig and Berlin. The complex compositions, interfused with prog, tech and sludge metal, constantly shift between the different styles, adding depth and volume.

In its many different forms, escapism is the link between different pieces and the force that binds the album together. Once again, the band's lyrics tackle issues that hurt and their music, which demands to be listened to, strikes almost incomparable in its intensity. This album offers fans the chance to escape from society, their "circumstances" and their private life.

With EskapistThe Hirsch Effekt give their final comment on our time. In simple terms - remarkably intense music.

NOIJA announce debut album 'Colorblind' and reveal video for 'Unknown'
Noija bandbild new 3 (1 of 1).jpg

Brand new Swedish alt-rock band NOIJA have confirmed that they'll be releasing their debut album Colorblind on the 20th October.

The quartet have given us a taste of the record with their single 'Unknown', which was premiered via Dreambound. Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/vdoiDxNo5D0

Slick and anthemic, Colorblind is 11 tracks exploring everything from synth rock to tech-metal. You only have to listen to ‘Unknown’ and ‘Find The Sound’ to hear the broad craftmanship of the quartet, the poignant and chilling opener transitions so effortlessly into bouncy, tech-orientated riffs, which can be said for the whole of Colorblind. There’s a real elegance that blankets the album, making it almost impossible to believe that the band have been writing together for a mere 12 months. Lyrically Colorblind is as honest as it gets, the heart-on-sleeve-esque themes are widely relatable and packed with emotion.

The band pride themselves on DIY ethics: everything you hear and see has been created solely by the members who make up Noija; from recording, mixing and mastering Colorblind to directing and filming their music videos. The passion and drive is evident not just throughout the record, but in the band’s mentality and will no doubt pay off for this promising quartet.

Noija are:

Vocals - Nick Serlstedt
Bass - Max Mauritsson
Guitar/vocals - Ludvig Ottosson
Drums - Daniel Lundgren

Winds Of Plague debut 'Never Alone' video and reveal album details
shot lo res.jpg

Los Angeles metal titans WINDS OF PLAGUE have debuted their new music video 'Never Alone' and announced the release of their fifth album, Blood Of My Enemy, on 27 October via eOne/SPV.

Directed by Orie McGinness and premiered exclusively via LOUDWIRE, check out 'Never Alone' here: https://youtu.be/Nt4SU2Uwrgg

'Never Alone' is the first new music released from Winds Of Plague's upcoming LP. "Never Alone was actually one of the first songs written for this record and immediately became the balance point for the remaining songs that were to be written," says vocalist Johnny Plague"It's not the heaviest song of the record and it isn't the most melodic song of the record. I wanted this to be the first taste of the new album because I feel it best represents the new music showcasing both the dark symphonic arrangements and the vast range of vocal styles used on the record."

"I have always used WOP music videos as an opportunity to create cinematic shorts. Never Alone is no different. We partnered with Enlighten Creative Studio's to tell the story of a misunderstood woman who has harnessed her inner demons to her advantage. I design and produce haunted attractions for my career so it's always fun when I can bring my two worlds together to create these videos."

The new effort is the follow up to the widely celebrated Resistance LP released in 2013. Johnny continues, "Over a year ago I started making weekly trips up to a small apartment in North Hollywood on my days off to work on music for WOP with Noah Sebastian from Bad Omens. It was strange at first since past WOP records were worked on in larger recording studio's or rehearsal spaces and now here I am sitting on the floor of this bedroom working on record number six."

'Never Alone' is available as an iTunes instant gratification track for fans who pre order the LP on iTunes and on streaming platforms.

Johnny continues, "Although it was different and humbling it proved to be the unedited creative environment we needed for this record. We had no time limits, no 'suits' giving their input. It was just a few friends sitting in a room together, having a good time creating music. Something I haven't been able to experience in a very long time. Sometimes to move forward you have to take a few steps back. I can confidently say this is the most satisfied I have been with a WOP record. I feel producer's Noah Sebastian and Joakim Karlsson have helped us to further develop our unique approach to symphonic deathcore with distinct epic orchestral backed chorus's walking the fine line of brutal and melodic."

Additionally, the band teamed up with artist Pär Olofsson to create the stunning cover art seen below. "'Blood Of My Enemy' takes us back to the iconic samurai theme. The imagery is inspired by a lyric from the title track 'I will give my life on the battlefield, drowning in the blood of my enemy' Which represents to me a 'I will fight to the end' state of mind. Pär Olofsson brilliantly portrays the aftermath of an epic war showing an almost celestial spark of life amongst the carnage."

WINDS OF PLAGUE will support SUICIDE SILENCE on the "10 Year Anniversary of The Cleansing" tour in the US and plan to announce UK/European dates in 2018.

ARCH ECHO’s initial videos, “Earthshine” and “Hip Dipper”, were an instant hit in the progressive community and have already racked up a combined 100k views on YouTube, prompting the band to write and record their debut full-length.

Word has spread considerably in the muso sphere, with the band already championed by Standberg Guitars, Meinl Cymbals, Revo Straps, Drumdots, 1964 Ears, Mapex Drums, Jamstik and even guitar legend George Benson, who said “Arch Echo will knock your socks off and make you glad at the same time. Trust me!”

TENGGER CAVALRY frontman NATURE G releases new Mongolian electro metal crossover album, Stereotyping
nature 3resize.jpg

Acclaimed Mongolian folk metal composer and frontman of Tengger CavalryNature G, has released new album Stereotyping, a unique cross-genre album. The release’s name is somewhat surprising at first glance, as Nature G is well known in the metal industry by shirking all of the genre’s norms.

The same man who made Mongolian folk metal a viral sensation is taking on a decidedly more personal tone, harnessing the power of heavy metal with a delicate electronic influence, all filtered via Nature G's unique folk-metal take.
