THE AMSTERDAM RED LIGHT DISTRICT (TARLD) have announced new album Sapere Aude, set for release on March 1st 2018 via Red Light Records.
To celebrate the band have released new single 'Need'. Premiered on Metal Injection, check it out here: https://youtu.be/gscVADAE7XY
The band have also made the track available free for download from today: https://tarldtheband.bandcamp.com/track/need-2
A song and video influenced by philosopher Immanuel Kant’s work encompassing the concept of enlightenment, 'Need' combines post-hardcore instrumentation with strong, thought-provoking lyrics.
By highlighting the consequences of consumerism, TARLD combine video clips from today's and previous generations to emphasise the similarities of different behaviours to materialism, and how dangerous it can be to human intuition and reasoning. ‘Need’ presents a rebellious yet creative outlook on today's social landscape.
Guitarist Maxxx explains:
“We are surrounded by brands and their marketing strategy and it is just impossible to avoid it. Our computers are made to be dead after 6 or 7 years of using, 3 or 4 years for our cell phones. Ultimately, it is sad to see that people obsessively buy things that are of little value to them. They just want the brand new thing, to be "in-vogue".
Having firmly established themselves with their highly acclaimed debut 'Gone For a While', THE AMSTERDAM RED LIGHT DISTRICT are set to further raise the bar with sophomore album Sapere Aude. With a notable touring record having performed across Europe with the likes of Refused, Anti-Flag and Slayer, TARLD show no sign of slowing in 2018 with many dates to be announced soon.
Irish sludge powerhouse zhOra have released a live video for their track 'Turmoil' shot at this year's Bloodstock Festival. The track is taken from their sophomore album Ethos, Pathos, Logos which was released on 27 October.
Vocalist Colin Bolger comments: "Turmoil does exactly what it says on the tin. It takes you and your precious feelings and drags them through the mud and blood until you can't take no more. We love playing this tune live and we had the opportunity to storm through it at the absolutely amazing Bloodstock Festival this year. If you haven't been you must mark it down on the bucket list!
Come see us storm through it in the flesh on December 10th at Facebarmagedden in Reading. It has a serious line up featuring our Irish brethren Dead Label along with solid bands like Raging Speedhorn, Evil Scarecrow and tonnes more. This will be our last show of 2017 and we have a real pant wetting set planned so make sure you bring some spare knickers. The Winter months will see us eating lots of mushrooms, trying not to ruin our lives with whiskey and writing riffs, riffs and more riffs for our next full length. The tracks are already spilling out of all of our collective orifices and they taste better than ever. The future is bright, the future is zhOra."
Over the span of six years zhOra have quickly become one of the most recognisable names in the burgeoning Irish metal scene. In this time the band has released one EP Feet Nailed to the Ground (2011) and their debut LP Almaz (2013), both releases garnering huge praise within the scene. Now in 2017, the band is set to undertake the next stage in their journey, Ethos, Pathos, Logos.
In the only predictable aspect of the band's sonic trajectory, Ethos, Pathos, Logos finds the band once again putting themselves under their own microscope and refining their approach. With a lush cover designed by acclaimed Visionary Artist Jake Kobrin, the record is zhOra's first back-to-back concept album, an hour long journey through past lives and cannibalism.
Pick up the new album Ethos, Pathos, Logos now via Big Cartel, Bandcamp, iTunes and all other digital outlets.

Listen to the lead single from the album here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUaJNjAc4HU
Formed in 1979, the underground legends are releasing their first new album in thirteen years with Mein Trumpf, a musical call to equality and a wake-up call to intolerance and hatred. In the band's own words, "We are a Punk Bar Mitzvah band that goes political when times make us".
Famed for their Rock Against Reagan involvement, MDC are back reflecting on the current state of the world, leading with their chant "No Trump, no KKK, no fascist USA", repeated now at protests through the States, including by Green Day at the American Music Awards. Initially created by the band with their 1982 song 'Born To Die' as "No war, no KKK, no fascist USA", the chant has resonated with protestors throughout the years and proves the level of underground influence MDC have had on the history of American punk.

SikTh have released the video for their new single 'The Aura', taken from their latest album The Future In Whose Eyes? which is out now via Snapper Music imprint Millennium Night.
The new video, already confirmed as Scuzz TV’s Spankin’ New Video Of The Week, was directed by SikTh’s own Mikee W Goodman.
"The Aura was initially lyrically inspired by a day I spent with a magical being," he explains. "It then spiralled into dreamscape memories and reflections. I tried to bring this out in the music video. The shadows of dancers appear now and then which is a direct link to the chorus lyrics. The rest of the story is told through one actress playing the flower being role. All this is intercut with band footage."

The future of British extreme progressive metal lies in safe hands with the debut LP from Conjurer – Mire (23 Feb 2018, Holy Roar Records).
Celebrating the announcement the band streamed the self-titled video via Metal Hammer.
Watch 'The Mire' here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgYK2DsL_4o
Pre-order the record here: http://www.holyroarrecords.com/products/search?q=conjurer
A stunning listen, combining Opeth at their heaviest and most dynamic, Mastodon at their earliest, and Gojira at their most venomous, Mire is a step up from a young band who are already being championed as ones to watch.
Equal turns bleak, dark, stark, and beautiful, Mire is an album which makes true the cliché “a journey of a listen”. From the apocalyptic opener ‘Choke’ to the haunting soundscapes within the eponymous track, this LP is as impressive in its power as in its multi-layered dynamism.
Led by the dual vocal/guitar attack of Dan Nightingale and Brady Deeprose, Conjurer are a band who are already attracting attention from the metal press and industry. The band have an impressive touring history, despite still being at the very beginning of their journey. Tours with Weedeater, OHHMS, shows with Employed To Serve, Venom Prison, Oathbreaker, and festival appearances at Bloodstock Open Air, Damnation Fest, UK Tech Fest, Doom Over London and more besides place Conjurer in rarefied but highly deserved company.
Another sparkling release in Holy Roar’s glittering catalogue, Mire will set 2018 alight for Conjurer. Watch this space.

Highly regarded blackened hardcore band CALLIGRAM have streamed their debut LP Askesis one day early.
Listen to Askesis, first premiered via Noisey, here:
https://soundcloud.com/calligrammusic/sets/askesis/s-7w42U
Pre-order:
http://music.basickrecords.com/album/askesis
Set to be released on November 24 Askesis a viciously dark and atmospheric ride through bleakened lands of sonic destruction, a sound that has already seen the band championed by Metal Hammer, Terrorizer, and more.
As the band state:
"For the ancient Stoics, the Askesis was a totality of rituals, behaviors, and rules that they used to follow and repeat obsessively like a mantra in order to set their mind and prepare it to cope with the nonsense and suffering of life. Similarly, Askesis is Calligram's personal mantra to face the fact that nothing we do in this life, no matter what, has meaning or purpose. There's nothing above or beyond any of this. Nothing to stand for. Everything is just floating in an sea of emptiness."
Askesis is certainly a record that’s suitably deserving of such a grandiose introduction. Led by the Italian Matteo Rizzardo’s tortured shrieking vocals, Calligram are a band not for the faint of heart. However, like all good musicians, Calligram know when to hold back as much as push forward.
The London-based band are true testament to modern music’s global outlook: Italian, Brazilian, and French nationals creating an album of impressive heft. For fans of Impaled Nazarene, Belphegor, Behemoth, and more Askesis is not an album worth missing out on.
Forming in 2011, Calligram's first release under their current moniker was 2016's Demimonde, mastered by Alan Douches (The Dillinger Escape Plan, Every Time I Die, Darkest Hour). Calligram quickly caught the attention of Metal Hammer, Terrorizer, Punktastic & Kerrang! Radio's Alex Baker, amongst others, supporting Downfall of Gaia, Wolfbrigade, and toured around the UK and Europe.
Askesis was recorded in February 2017 at the Ranch Production House with Lewis Johns (Rolo Tomassi, Svalbard, Employed To Serve) & mastered by Audiosiege's Brad Boatright (Trap Them, Mutoid Man, NAILS).
