British Heavy Prog Psych Chiefs BOSS KELOID Announce Further Album Details
Boss Keloid_1.jpg
“Another gargantuan stride forward for the UK’s masters of weed-ravaged schizo-prog-doom, Melted On The Inch is insanely exciting, sounds like nothing else on Earth and confirms that Boss Keloid deserve (a) knighthoods and (b) the adoration of millions.” - Dom Lawson, Metal Hammer

British heavy prog psych chiefs BOSS KELOID have announced their highly anticipated third album Melted On The Inch will be released via Holy Roar Records on April 27th 2018. The news was revealed last night, alongside the world exclusive premiere of their track 'Chronosiam', on the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show with Daniel Carter.

Pre-orders are now available in the UK/EU via Holy Roar Records here and in the USA via Deathwish Inc here

After earning acclaimed reviews for Herb Your Enthusiasm (2016) and The Calming Influence of Teeth (2013), BOSS KELOID’s notoriety for producing heavy and magnificently multilayered music has continued to grow. Having joined Holy Roar’s outstanding roster the quintet is poised to continue the momentum that’s been building since their formation in 2010. Melted On The Inch is six anthemic tracks showcasing a matured, evolved BOSS KELOID, as the Wigan based quintet continue to flirt with new genres.

The band comments: "For us, Melted On The Inch is a strong progression from Herb Your Enthusiasm. It draws from a much wider pond of influence than our previous. It is more progressive, more uplifting, more melancholic, more emotional, more dynamic, there is a greater emphasis on light and shade, it is heavier, it is more delicate, it has more beauty, it has more darkness.“

Melted On The Inch will be released by Holy Roar Records in the UK/EU and Deathwish Inc in the USA on April 27th. UK/EU pre-orders are available here. USA pre-orders are available here

22a08e8e-be6c-4ff1-86ef-89230bf9109d.jpg

UK metalcore band SHIELDS have released their new single 'It's Killing Me' today via Long Branch Records.

Watch the new video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WA5pkbo4cFQ

Purchase: https://shields.lnk.to/ItsKillingMe

For guitarist and clean singer Sam Kubrick the song is already a favourite: “It’s Killing Me as a song came together surprisingly quickly as we usually devote weeks if not months to perfecting our songs. From start to finish the song was finished in about three days and instantly became a band favourite!”

“Shooting the video was incredibly fun but also very tiring, especially for our frontman Joe who spent 12 hours underwater thrashing and thriving about fully dressed in cold water!" Adds Sam. The stunning video is but a small indication of SHIELDS' future potential. Sci-fi visuals combine with the hard-hitting tech-metalcore anthemic sound the band have become well-known for.

The London-based metal band were established in 2012, releasing their first EP in 2013. Since then, SHIELDS have toured the UK relentlessly, gathering a strong following. In April 2015 SHIELDS dropped their second EP Guilt which for the next two years would take them on tours running laps around Mainland Europe and the UK, and land them festivals and shows with the likes of Born Of OsirisChelsea GrinIce Nine Kills and Veil Of Maya to name a few. During their extensive touring schedule the band were writing on and off the road for their next release.

'It's Killing Me' is the band's first new song in nearly three years. With a new album up their sleeves and currently supporting Escape The FateSHIELDS are ready to make 2018 theirs.

Don't miss them on these dates:

PHOENIX CALLING release video for 'Lose This'
Phoenix Calling Promo-5693.jpg

Alt-rockers PHOENIX CALLING have released the video for their latest single 'Lose This', taken from their recently released sophomore album Our Lost Hearts.

Check out the video here: https://youtu.be/_iwq0zgNx-U

Of the single, guitarist/vocalist Dominic Greenwood explains:

"'Lose This' is a song about looking at the world from the outside in, trying to work out how and where you fit in and how you feel when you don’t. There is a sense of irony about the lyrics and the notion of closing your eyes to be able to see, having to hide until life finds you. The lyrics are subjective and relatable, as we all face difficult and challenging situations, confidence issues and trying to fit into society."

Returning with a more mature and eclectic sound, Our Lost Hearts is 11 tracks of huge melodies and wall of sound guitars that range from feel good and energetic to emotive and anthemic. More of a collective effort than its predecessor Forget Your Ghosts, each member brings their own styles and influences to the table.

Combined with their collective experience of touring the UK and Europe numerous times including a run supporting Young Guns, and appearances at Fort FestLynn’s Festival (12000 cap) and Vi Festival in Krakow Poland, the band return as seasoned pros ready to take their music to the masses.

DispersE Guitarist Jakub Zytecki to Release Solo Album
shot 1.jpg

Instrumental Prog artist and guitar virtuoso Jakub Zytecki has announced the release of his two part album Ladder Head / Feather Bed, to come out on the 23rd of February.

Have a listen to ‘Lovetape’ here: https://youtu.be/Am5LEjrgeSc

Over the course of creating this two part record, Jakub has excelled in combining technical aptitude, instrumental finesse and ethereal soundscapes to create not only an impressive release, but a truly remarkable state of awe and ambience. This is perfectly demonstrated by the third track of Feather Bed, ‘Letters’. Such a track strikes a balance between dreamy atmospheres, wondrous melodies and harmonies whilst including 60s/70s aesthetics. Having also been involved in the Prog Rock band DispersE as a guitarist, this double sided album marks the start of an exciting expedition of thrill and astonishment for the young prodigy.

The two sided solo record incorporates the teachings of mystic and lecturer Terence McKenna, offering extra dimensions of ambiguity and allurement to complete an already fascinating release.

Born and raised in Cracow, a renowned city of culture and the arts, Jakub's upbringing and life are one of the many vital components to Ladder Head / Feather BedJakub aims to resume this musical expedition by releasing a full length solo album in Autumn 2018.

Progressive extreme metal band CONJURER release new video ahead of debut LP
Conjurer Hi-Res.jpg

Conjurer's rise continues with the release of their beautifully brutal new video/single 'Retch'.

Premiering on Kerrang!, who nominate the band as one of The Hottest Bands of 2018, you can watch 'Retch' here: https://youtu.be/rLyTcuQYT9I

As the band comment: "Retch is the most straight-up, no-nonsense track on the record and we wanted to reflect that in the video, filming only one take in a place that feels very much entwined with the progression of the band. Throw in the 360 technology and we’ve had a lot of fun with this one."

The single comes ahead of the band's highly anticipated debut LP Mire (23 Feb 2018, Holy Roar Records).

Watch Conjurer's previous single 'The Mire' here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vgYK2DsL_4o

Pre-order the record here: http://www.holyroarrecords.com/products/search?q=conjurer

A stunning listen, combining Opeth at their heaviest and most dynamic, Mastodon at their earliest, and Gojira at their most venomous, Mire is a step up from a young band who are already being championed as ones to watch by Metal Hammer, Kerrang!, BBC Radio 1 Rock Show and more.

Equal turns bleak, dark, stark, and beautiful, Mire is an album which makes true the cliché “a journey of a listen”. From the apocalyptic opener ‘Choke’ to the haunting soundscapes within the eponymous track, this LP is as impressive in its power as in its multi-layered dynamism.

Led by the dual vocal/guitar attack of Dan Nightingale and Brady DeeproseConjurer are a band who are already attracting attention from the metal press and industry. The band have an impressive touring history, despite still being at the very beginning of their journey. Tours with WeedeaterOHHMS, shows with Employed To ServeVenom PrisonOathbreaker, and festival appearances at Bloodstock Open AirDamnation Fest, UK Tech FestDoom Over London and more besides place Conjurer in rarefied but highly deserved company.

Another sparkling release in Holy Roar’s glittering catalogue, Mire will set 2018 alight for Conjurer. Watch this space.

Being 100% DIY makes these achievements all the more impressive.

Having met on the road playing in former bands, lead singer/guitarist Kirsty and drummer/vocalist Sara ran away from their previous lives to become music outlaws on their own terms. Utilising heavy guitars, bouncy grooves and combining Kirsty and Sara’s wide-ranging vocals, THE PEARL HARTS create a unique and innovative barrage of sound. Influences of Black Sabbath, Fleetwood Mac and The Distillers are clearly apparent, but they have also been compared to bands such as Rage Against the Machine and the Beastie Boys for their attitude and grit.

With summer festivals and international touring to be announced this spring, 2018 is set to be a huge year for THE PEARL HARTS.
