Black coast NEW 2018.jpg

BLACK COAST have signed to Primordial Records and to celebrate the hardcore/metal quintet have released a video for their brand new single 'Break The Routine'. The video was originally premiered via Metal Hammer, where the band also shared their Top 10 favourite Wetherspoons pubs.

Watch the video for 'Break The Routine' here: https://youtu.be/NTzOjug3dfc

The five-piece have also announced a free entry show at Old Blue Last in London on 14th August, joined by special guests COPE.

Formed in January of 2016, BLACK COAST wasted no time in making their voice heard within a very over saturated UK metal scene. With the release of their debut EP Crows Of The North and a plethora of tours that took them to every corner of the country, BLACK COAST have made a name for themselves as one of the most hardworking and exciting bands to emerge in the last few years.

2017 bought the band an unforgettable year: summer saw the band support the likes of Stray From The Path before setting out on a full Japanese tour, hitting some of the biggest cities in the country including Tokyo and Nagoya. The band followed this up with performances alongside Gideon, In Hearts Wakeand Silent Screams.

Progressive instrumentalists TOSKA announce debut album, headline tour and unveil new video

Debut album Fire By The Silos released 2 November

Toska.jpg

Brighton UK progressive trio TOSKA have announced the release of their highly anticipated debut album Fire By The Silos on 2 November and have unveiled new video ‘Congress’.

Check out 'Congress' here: https://youtu.be/ttVCQKdz56M

The band have also announced their first ever headline tour across the UK and Europe in November, see below for dates.

Formed in Brighton in 2015 by three musicians who set out to write music without boundaries, TOSKA have been making huge waves in progressive and muso circles since their inception. Together they bring an impressive range of skill, experience and knowledge to create music that’s both intellectually stimulating, but also highly accessible.

Taking influence from a huge span of music including Karnivool, SikTh, Hans Zimmer, Thomas Newmann and Gustav HolstTOSKA use vast dynamics and obscure chord voicing to convey a very emotional and cinematic tonality. It’s almost impossible to pin a genre tag on them, but words such as prog, metal, post-rock and math-rock could be used to describe their sonic elements.

The success of 2016's EP Ode To The Author launched the band onto the live circuit earning them tours in the UK & Europe with the likes of Black Peaks and Arcane Roots and slots at ArcTanGent and UK Tech Fest. The band are now ready to step their game up another notch with debut album Fire By The Silos, a concept album with many twists, turns; a stunning musical journey packed with depth and colour, with a slightly sinister undertone.

The band explain: “Fire By The Silos is a concept album. An idea grown from social observation; looking at humans, aspects of the world, and the direction we’re going in. It’s set in the near future and focuses specifically on a person affected by great political and economic change, forced to lose everything. Fire By The Silos attempts to describe the psychological and emotional torment that takes”.

The members of TOSKA have a strong presence in the music scene in their own right and have amassed huge YouTube followings. Combining their collective fanbases, guitarist Rabea Massaad (192k subscribers), drummer Ben Minal (32K subscribers), drummer Dave Hollingworth (13K subscribers), plus the many fans they’ve picked up on  the road, TOSKA are rapidly becoming the UK’s most talked about instrumental act.

HIGH ON FIRE announce new LP Electric Messiah and stream title track
pic 1.jpg

HIGH ON FIRE release a new single today titled Electric Messiah, exclusively via NPR Music. The new song serves as the title track from the band's new LP, which will be released on October 5, 2018 via Entertainment One (eOne Music).

Check out 'Electric Messiah' here

“I had a dream about Lemmy,” says Matt Pike, explaining the inspiration behind the title of HIGH ON FIRE’s triumphant new Electric Messiah“When Lemmy was still alive I always got compared to Lemmy,” the gravelly-voiced guitarist elaborates, “so I had this dream where he got pissed at me."

"He gave me a bunch of sh*t, basically, and was hazing me. Not that he didn’t approve of me, but like I was being hazed. The song is me telling the world that I could never fill Lemmy’s shoes because Lemmy’s Lemmy. I wanted to pay homage to him in a great way. And it turned out to be such a good title that the guys said we should call the album
Electric Messiah."

Electric Messiah will serve as the follow-up to Luminiferous released in 2015, which went on to be one of the band's most critically acclaimed albums. NPR said about Luminiferous"For HIGH ON FIRE to exude this much vigor 17 years into its existence only reaffirms the band's mastery of the form." Pitchfork called the collection of songs "among the most enthusiastic and bracing of the Oakland metal band's career." Finally, Rolling Stone said it was "a ferocious blast of charging guitars, blasting drums and Pike's inimitable hoarse roar" in their feature outlining the 20 Best Metal Albums of 2015.

Electric Messiah reunites the band once again with producer Kurt Ballou (Converge, Torche, Kvelertak) for the third time. “Kurt just has a knack for us, man,” Matt Pike says. “We all work really well with him. Even if we have differences about how we want to record something, he works with us and understands what we do. We’ve been sticking with him because we haven’t made a bad record with him yet.”

It feels absurd to think that this late into their career HIGH ON FIRE have hit a new career peak, but that’s what happens when you have a trio that works this well together. For all of Ballou’s sonic wizardry, Electric Messiah is all about the evolution of PikeMatz, and Kensel. They simply cannot be denied a permanent spot among American royalty.

“This band keeps evolving,” Pike enthuses. “This is by far the best record I’ve ever made with the HIGH ON FIRE stamp. It just keeps getting better and better. We just try to outdo ourselves. I’m not saying the old work is progressively worse, it’s just that we get better every time instead of burning out, which is a common finality for a lot of bands. This album is f*cking excellent, I just love everything on it, I’m not bummed about anything. It’s great when you think that about your record.”

Frontman Henning Begemann explains No Truth's inspiration and lyrical content: “During the time when I was writing the lyrics for the new album, I was thinking a lot about our behaviour towards others. Why do we act like everything’s great while we know that this is a lie and everyone else is doing the exact same thing. But despite these facts, no one is ever starting to question all this. The thought finally lead me to question the concept of truth in general, which is usually an irrevocable term. This hiding and twisting of the truth was a leitmotif for all the lyrics.

Whether playing as headliners, openers or on festival bills, THE PARIAH always put on an incredible show. This summer THE PARIAH have supported the likes of COUNTERPARTSBEING AS AN OCEAN and AGNOSTIC FRONT picking up many new fans along the way.

THE PARIAH are set to take on and conquer the European scene with their phenomenal live show and the release of No Truth, an album packed with gripping rawness, honesty and boldness.

No Truth is released via Silent Cult in the UK, and Redfleld Records elsewhere.

Twelve tracks that build on the band's signature anthemic sound, White Flag marks the next chapter in NORMANDIE's whirlwind journey, reaffirming that they are one of the hottest up-and-coming bands to have surfaced in recent years.

UKTM pioneers THE ARUSHA ACCORD return with first new EP in seven years

Juracan out 28 September

The Arusha Accord.jpg

Reading UK tech-metal pioneers THE ARUSHA ACCORD are officially back with the release of new EP, Juracan, on 28 September, their first record in seven years.

The band started work on new material late 2016 and have released two singles from the EP, 'Blackened Heart' and 'Vultures'.

THE ARUSHA ACCORD made a triumphant return to the stage as Thursday headliners at UK Tech Fest 2017, but their comeback was cut unexpectedly short when Alex Green (vocals) parted ways with the group shortly after, and later that year Tom Hollings (guitar) moved on to concentrate on other projects. The remaining members took a step back to work out their next move, and the decision was made to finish Juracan as a quartet.

The first of four planned EPs, Juracan is five tracks of furiously complex yet masterfully organised riffs and rhythms, with vocalist Paul Green stepping up to impressively handle solo vocal duties. Recorded at Middle Farm Studioswith Adam ‘Nolly’ Getgood and mastered by Prash Mistry, the band’s performance and composition is presented with profound sonic impact. It’s the sound of a band who have been through many highs, lows, with their commitment and determination fully tested, resulting in them sounding stronger and more impressive than ever.

Vocalist Paul Green explains: “We decided to title the record Juracan due to the turbulent time we had with this record, I think chaos & disorder sums that phase up perfectly. Despite the knock backs we have had and there have been a whole bunch this past year, we’re the strongest we’ve ever been, more unified and passionate about this project and excited to finish the next three EPs!”

Technical metal has evolved over the past seven years, however THE ARUSHA ACCORD’s unique approach to creating music is still hugely relevant and unmatched by their modern contemporaries. And with the likes The Dillinger Escape Plan and HECK calling it a day, the band look set to step up to fill the void of controlled chaos left behind.

Pre-order Juracan, including limited vinyl packages, here:

Track list:

1.    Blackened Heart
2.    Vultures
3.    The Road (Amor Vincit Omnia – Part 1)
4.    Beneath The Dule Tree
5.    The Dark Pane

THE ARUSHA ACCORD are:

Paul Green / Vocals
Luke Williams / Bass Guitar
James Clayton / Guitars
Mark Vincent / Drums
