CONJURER release new video ahead of Conan tour

"UK's most exciting new metal band" - 5K, Kerrang!
"Pushing the boundaries of extreme music" - Upset
"Breathtaking debut album" - 9/10, Metal Hammer

Conjurer Promo-15.jpg

CONJURER have released their striking new video for 'Choke' ahead of their tour support with Conan, capping off their breakout year.

Premiered via Metal Hammer, you can now watch 'Choke' here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDK56BamkxM

The band comment:

"'Choke' is about the gutter press and the toll it takes on people in the public eye," the band tell Metal Hammer. "It's commonplace now for people of a high profile to be swarmed and harassed by cameras and microphones at every turn, invading their everyday lives, and such occurrences often have long-lasting and damaging effects.

"After watching the documentary, Amy, it became very clear that media pressure and intrusion among other things became a major contributor in the death of a very fragile and gifted human being. Seeing how cruelly the media capitalise on people's struggles for their own gain was sickening; how the press soon turned to quiet solemnity after years of exploitation and ridicule on their part struck an angry and resonant chord with us.

"With the video, we wanted to confront the notion of this slick, lifeless, staged 'product' that the media can turn musicians into, and put it in stark contrast to the raw reality that bands like us actually thrive in. The camera keeps rolling regardless of the wellbeing of the people it focuses on."

Dates with Conan are as follows:

23/11 - The Loft, Nottingham, UK
24/11 - Temple of Boom, Leeds, UK
25/11 - Byker Grave Festival XI, Newcastle, UK
26/11 - Audio, Glasgow, UK
27/11 - Rebellion, Manchester, UK
28/11 - The Arches, Coventry, UK
29/11 - Clwb Ifor Bach, Cardiff, UK
30/11 - The Craufurd Arms, Milton Keynes, UK
01/12 - Boston Music Rooms, London, UK

The news continues CONJURER's rise in 2018 after releasing highly acclaimed debut Mire (Holy Roar Records, 09th March 2018); mini-tour with Employed to Serve, first ever EU run, and subsequent EU dates with Will Haven. The band also appeared at UK Tech-Fest2000trees,Bloodstock Open AirArcTanGent Festival (two sets), and Euroblast Festival.

Championed by Kerrang!, Metal Hammer, BBC R1, The Independent, Upset, MetalSucks and across Europe, CONJURER are fast becoming the most talked-about young metal band from the UK. Nominated for multiple awards and critically acclaimed, CONJURER have burst on to the scene with debut LP Mire.

A stunning listen, combining Opeth at their heaviest and most dynamic, Mastodon at their earliest, and Gojira at their most venomous, Mire is a step up from a band who were already impressing.

Equal turns bleak, dark, stark, and beautiful, Mire is an album which makes true the cliché “a journey of a listen”. From the apocalyptic opener ‘Choke’ to the haunting soundscapes within the eponymous track, this LP is as impressive in its power as in its multi-layered dynamism.

DEADLY CIRCUS FIRE reunite with vocalist Adam Grant

Band start work for their forthcoming 3rd record

Deadly Circus Fire (old singer).jpg

DEADLY CIRCUS FIRE have announced the return of their original vocalist Adam Grant. Former vocalist David Pear has left the band due to creative differences.

DEADLY CIRCUS FIRE have released a video announcing the news, watch it HERE

On returning, Adam commented:
'Even it's been a couple years since I departed from DCF, each of us have grown into healthier people both physically and mentally which is a vital thing for any venture to survive. I don't speak for the guys but back then I wasn't strong enough to carry on playing the music game in the state I was in and the state the industry was in. It just wasn't working and I didn't want to drag everything down to this lowest point I was at but after speaking to Save and the boys recently I noticed a big improvement in our quality of life. We grabbed a drink and hashed it all out one night and after finding out that David had parted ways with DCF I had to seriously consider the outcomes of a return. To wrap up the rant... I'm back and it feels good to be back!'

Now back in original formation, the band are all set to start work on their third record.

A Pale Horse Named Death share their new single 'Love The Ones You Hate'

New record released 18th January 2019

UK/EU tour in March 2019

APHND - When The World Becomes Undone 1500.jpg

A Pale Horse Named Death share their new single "Love The Ones You Hate". It's the first track taken from the 3rd studio album When The World Becomes Undone which will be released on January 18th, 2019 via Long Branch Records / SPV.

Singer & Guitarist Sal Abruscato about "Love The Ones You Hate":
"'Love Ones You Hate' is one of my favorite songs. Brings back the early 90’s alternative goth metal that inspired us back then. The song is about moving on from friends that have intentionally hurt or betray you and it’s time to forget them, let go of the grudge and the hate towards them. I wrote this song at my home in Upstate NY and finally had the fuel to finish the lyrics this past year."

Listen to it HERE.

Beauty often blossoms at the root of darkness. A PALE HORSE NAMED DEATH siphon strangely blissful melodies from apocalyptic heavy metal awash in swells of cavernous gothic keys and grunge song-craft  The band continue to excavate vulnerability from venom on their anxiously awaited third full-length album, When The World Becomes Undone. A delicate dichotomy drives the avowed and acclaimed “Brooklyn Lords of Doom.”

“It’s our signature combination of seemingly depressing and dark musical tones with unexpectedly pretty melodies,” affirms Sal Abruscato“There’s a hypnotic phenomenon that happens when you take super heavy riffs and add a harmonic sensibility. It allows you to drift off and zone out.”

The new album was mastered by Maor Appelbaum (Faith No MoreMeat LoafYesSepulturaHalford etc.) at Maor Appelbaum Mastering while the artwork was once again created by Sam Shearon (Rob ZombieFear FactoryCradle of Filth etc.).

Alt-rock quartet CHAPTER AND VERSE release live stripped-back video of 'Ink'
Chapter and Verse Resize Credit Jennifer McCord.jpg

CHAPTER AND VERSE have released a live stripped-back video for their latest single 'Ink'. The performance was filmed ahead of the quartet's sold-out show at The Black Heart in London last month, in front of select fans who form part of the band's following, known as 'The New Breed'.

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/eKt3GppLlQw

“Ink is about feeling disillusioned with adulthood and the dangers that lie in obsessing over self-improvement,” says frontman Josh Carter.“The song is unlike anything we’ve done before and we've been really embracing the evolution of what we do. CHAPTER AND VERSE has become a vessel for us to properly embrace life and for us this song serves as a reminder that focusing only on how to be happy can actually give you the opposite outcome."

Check out the official video for 'Ink' here: https://youtu.be/LpGlpjcx0Ys

Purchase/stream 'Ink': https://chapterandverse.info/ink

CHAPTER AND VERSE will conclude a successful 2018 with some live dates:

01.12.2018 - Bristol, Bopfest (w/ Palm Reader & ACODA)
13.12.2018 - Frome, Cheese & Grain (w/ Skindred)
18.12.2018 - London, Boston Music Room (w/ Bad Sign)

Becoming the best version of yourself can be a long and complicated road, but CHAPTER AND VERSE have been patiently taking their time. Their reputation has seen them quickly reach the dizzying heights of the 2000trees Main Stage, garner much coveted tour supports for Dream StateCourage My Love and Hellions, turn heads at the Radio 1 Rock Show and Kerrang! Radio, and even gainMetallica’s Lars Ulrich as a member of what CHAPTER AND VERSE call 'The New Breed'.

Having released two songs in two years, this band’s abilities are far from being fully understood. 'Magazines' is an honest reflection on the emotional aftermath of the near-loss of a friend and ‘A Devil in Blue’ is an open apology to a loved one, but it’s their new single ‘Ink' that now has everybody talking.

22 release new single 'Chroma Key'

You Are Creating released 23rd November via Long Branch Records

22.jpg

Norwegian Progressive Rock Band 22 released their new single 'Chroma Key'. It's the second song taken from the double album You Are Creating, which will be released on 23rd November via Long Branch Records and Indie Recordings (Nordics).

Watch the video for 'Chroma Key' here:
https://youtu.be/xYkYAs5Gjbw

Guitarist Magnus Børmark about "Chroma Key":

'Chroma Key is a song about our physical reality being in a reciprocal reflecting relationship with our inner world. Where to start if you want to make a change? It is lyrically somewhat inspired by Michael Jackson's "Man in the mirror", though our song encourages crushing the looking glass, and see what happens then. I also thought of this song as a good song to drive to, and the guitar riff was based on some tom-pattern that andreas (the drummer) made. The title of the song alludes to a rainbow, and how all the colours combined can unlock something bigger than the individual parts. Since light is basically sound at a much higher frequency, we have used specific colours for the respective instruments in "22", so as to visually match what is going on aurally.

Our colour indexing, or chroma key if you like, - has been like this:
Bass = Red = Root, Earth
Guitar = Green = Heart, Hub
Voice = Blue = Throat, Expression
Drums = Purple = Kosmos, Beat of the universe'

You Are Creating is an assertion made by 22 that the listener is the one creating the effects of the music they are hearing. Pitch and rhythm in different arrangements (songs) are just tools provided by the artist, which the listener utilises and thus creates the experience of music.

The band claims that it is not the artist’s stories and emotions that is “given” to the listener. The listener uses music actively to explore their own emotional, mental and spiritual realms. Therefore, music is able to create experiences on such an intimate and personal level, having millions of different people from different cultures thinking: “they are singing about my life!” or “that’s exactly how i feel” in response to hearing the exact same recording of the exact song. Consciously or not, humans use music to explore their own life, world and being.

Every song on You Are Creating is made with the above-mentioned mechanism as an all-permeating creative principle.
