Established in 2013, Last Hounds have been grinding away sculpting an individual catalogue of material and a live show to match the energy and raw passion of the music. February 2016 saw the release of Last Hounds debut Self Titled E.P which included the singles 'Burnt Up', Full and Incinerate which has been blessed with an equally dark and raw music video. This release saw the band rapidly build a loyal fan base from around the country which was built upon off the back of a successful UK tour in May 2016.
A year after their debut E.P, Last Hounds crafted their latest four track E.P Old Dreams that defined the bands career to date with singles to include 'DOA' and 'Lay Me Down' both of which have seen the accompaniment of music videos and radio support from Alex Baker of Kerrang!
Following the release of the Old Dreams E.P, Last Hounds have toured the UK playing cities to new and loyal fans in prestigious venues including The Exchange in Bristol, Bodega in Nottingham, The Asylum in Birmingham and The Zephyr Lounge seeing them play to a 200 strong home town crowd. A note-worthy point, Last Hounds endeavoured to book and self-promote the 2017 Headline UK tour which went to show the strength of the fan base and grit and determination to take their music to their fans! 2017 was an explosive year for Last Hounds seeing them develop a larger fan base country wide and sharing the stage with the likes of Strange Bones, TRC and Shai Hulud seeing them bigger and better than ever before. Last Hounds have gone from strength to strength throughout their career to date and show no signs of stopping only to move onto bigger and better things.

Forever Marching Backwards is the follow up to the band's 2017 release Moonburn and brings to the table a tighter, punchier, dirtier sound with bigger riffs and extra swagger. The whole album is littered with Phil Wilkinson’s trademark bile encrusted vocals which envelope the absolute crushing, corroding heaviness of the music. Across eight tracks the band exorcise a wide array of sorrow and raw human emotions. But then there’s also a song (Tyskie Vampire) about being on tour with their label mates Pist, dropping cans of strong Polish lager on the floor and having to suck them dry when they split open. So it’s swings and round-abouts - heavy human emotions versus songs about touring and sucking your beer off the floor. Typically BATTALIONS.
Recorded and mixed by Chris Fielding at Skyhammer Studios in the UK, the resulting album is a danger-fuelled 30 minutes of BATTALIONS own brand of bleak, swaggering, riff-infused groove metal-meets-harsh-punk sound. To quote the band, this is ‘pure Humber sludge’.
This is their third album in three years and they show no sign of slowing down, with each album becoming a little more BATTALIONS in style and flavour but more than that, showing a band working on a formidable musical output.
Forever Marching Backwards is out now via APF Records and available to buy here.

CHAPTER AND VERSE released their single 'Ink' in October. Check out the official video here: https://youtu.be/LpGlpjcx0Ys
The four-piece also released a live stripped-back video for the single earlier this month. The performance was filmed ahead of the quartet's sold-out show at The Black Heart in London in front of select fans who form part of the band's following, known as 'The New Breed'.
Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/eKt3GppLlQw
Purchase/stream 'Ink': https://chapterandverse.info/ink
CHAPTER AND VERSE will conclude a successful 2018 with additional live dates:
01.12.2018 - Bristol, Bopfest (w/ Palm Reader & ACODA)
13.12.2018 - Frome, Cheese & Grain (w/ Skindred)
18.12.2018 - London, Boston Music Room (w/ Bad Sign)
Becoming the best version of yourself can be a long and complicated road, but CHAPTER AND VERSE have been patiently taking their time. Their reputation has seen them quickly reach the dizzying heights of the 2000trees Main Stage, garner much coveted tour supports for Dream State, Courage My Love and Hellions, turn heads at the Radio 1 Rock Show and Kerrang! Radio, and even gainMetallica’s Lars Ulrich as a member of what CHAPTER AND VERSE call 'The New Breed'.
Having released two songs in two years, this band’s abilities are far from being fully understood. 'Magazines' is an honest reflection on the emotional aftermath of the near-loss of a friend and ‘A Devil in Blue’ is an open apology to a loved one, but it’s their new single ‘Ink' that now has everybody talking.

Metallic hardcore's finest newcomers ITHACA have released their new single 'Slow Negative Order', from their forthcoming debut full-length record, The Language of Injury, to be released 1st February 2019 via Holy Roar Records.
Premiered on Decibel, you can listen to the track here: https://soundcloud.com/holyroarrecords/ithaca-slow-negative-order/s-5IZjr

Formed out of a mutual love of metallic hardcore but despair at its lack of ambition, ITHACA draw influence from everything from Southern doom to 90's math rock, as well as the untethered savagery of early Poison The Well and melodious battery of Oathbreaker.
The result is crushing grooves and shrieking guitar squalls that give way to haunting melodic passages and desolate reprieves. The debut album will be the band's most ambitious and emotionally raw material to date, following from their 2015 Trespassers EP (COF Records/Soaked in Torment).
ITHACA have previously toured with Employed to Serve, Venom Prison, Renouncedand more.

The Stratosphere Beneath Our Feet to be released December 07
'It's All In The Reflexes' single out now
Scottish alt-prog rock trio Atlas : Empire have streamed their new single 'It's All In The Reflexes' ahead of their debut LP The Stratosphere Beneath Our Feet, due for release 7th December.
First premiered via Substream Magazine, you can now check out the video for 'It's All In The Reflexes' here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ueSp6DFIJ4Q
Pre-order the album at: https://atlasempire.bandcamp.com/
The Stratosphere Beneath Our Feet follows Atlas : Empire's succession of three EPs, the last of which is 2015's The Stratosphere Beneath Our Feet Pt. 1 (For The Satellites). Since forming in 2011, the band have toured extensively throughout the UK, EU and through Eastern Canada, including supporting Tiny Moving Parts, The Pineapple Thief, Closure in Moscow, and Good Tiger.
The Stratosphere Beneath Our Feet is a concept record, centralised around humanity’s growing reliance on technology, and how this impacts our ability to have organic interaction & genuine communication. It explores how a society - dehumanised & disconnected - falls into disarray when this reliance is suddenly removed.
Each song is written from a new perspective, and the experiences each new person goes through, both before and after this mass technological collapse.
For fans of Arcane Roots, Black Peaks, The Twilight Sad, Press To Meco and more, Atlas : Empire are ready to stake their claim in the next wave of intelligent Scottish alt-rock. Soaring highs meet the lows of melancholia, complemented by figurative guitarwork and highly compelling atmospheric production, creating a highly impressive LP worthy of repeat listens.

Abject Bodies to be released 22nd Feb 2019 (Holy Roar Records/Deathwish)
'Flesh Prison' single streaming now
It's been a little over a year since Canadian band MINORS' label debut, the critically acclaimed Atrophy (2017, Holy Roar Records). A self-described “endless pit of despair”, the release tore its way through an unprepared underground music community with its uncompromising and hypnotic bend of sludge and hardcore.
MINORS are now back, with new record Abject Bodies, to be released 22nd February (Holy Roar Records/Deathwish).
The quartet have streamed their first single from the record. Premiered via Metal Injection, you can now watch the video for 'Flesh Prison' here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ds6ri2qnOWc
Pre-order the record:
http://smarturl.it/MINORS
https://deathwishinc.com/products/minors-abject-bodies
Full intent on taking their listeners as far as they can, the quartet take you into the most oppressing and dismal place the mind can conjure: Abject Bodies is a caustic sea of feedback and grinding noise, reminiscent of the best experimental noise, sludge, and hardcore.
Since Atrophy’s release MINORS have spent their time touring their native Canada, finding themselves sharing stages with the most familiar names in modern sludge and hardcore, including Primitive Man, Spectral Voice and Homewrecker.
In Spring 2018 the band crossed the pond to tour the UK with labelmates Watchcries before crafting this latest LP. For fans of Converge, Employed To Serve, Will Haven, the bleak and bitter, MINORS' Abject Bodies demands your attention.
Astronoid to be released 1st Feb 2019
ASTRONOID, the Boston USA-based outfit who cemented themselves as one of heavy music’s most promising new bands with the 2016 album AIR, release their sophomore full-length, Astronoid, on 1st Feb via Blood Music.
The band give an early glimpse into the music on Astronoid with new single/video 'I Dream In Lines'. Watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngpd38ruqxo
Pre-order: https://www.districtlines.com/Astronoid and http://www.blood-music.com/store
“After the completion of our sophomore album, we feel we have ventured further out of our comfort zone and created something special,” explains singer/guitar player Brett Boland. “The album encapsulates all the changes in our lives over the past couple of years. Astronoid is a testament to who we are as people, the music that consumes us, and the love in our lives. These songs hold a special place in our hearts and we hope that others can find the same solace in them that we have.”
ASTRONOID’s debut full-length, AIR, was one of the most talked about, and unexpected, releases of 2016 in the USA. Consequence of Sound, in their year-end best of coverage, said the band “have taken post-metal to stratospheric new heights.” Noisey said AIR is “the happiest dream thrash record you’ll ever hear” while numerous outlets including Loudwire, Stereogum, Metal Injection, and Invisible Oranges, championed the young Northeastern four-piece by placing the album on their year-end best of lists. MetalSucks declared the nine-song album “an instant classic.” In the months that followed, the band joined Tesseract, Periphery, Animals As Leaders, Ghost, and Zeal & Ardor for multiple North American tours.
The band will join Between The Buried and Me and Tesseract for a U.S. tour upon release of Astronoid and will tour Europe later in 2019.
ASTRONOID pre-orders, which include an instant download of 'I Dream In Lines' as well as multiple coloured vinyl packages, are available now via: https://www.districtlines.com/Astronoid and http://www.blood-music.com/store.

Since their formation in 2008, Single Mothers’ only constant is change. With a perpetually revolving line-up that has even seen Thomson banished from the band, they have now settled into a Mark E. Smith and The Fall inspired formula where any collaborator is welcome to join him for the ride. “The door is always open,” says Thomson. “We just have a few guidelines: if the songs are good and you’re a friend, you can play with the band any time. Once a Mother, always a Mother.”
Through A Wall is available to stream and buy via Big Scary Monsters here.
