THE ROYAL announce new album and release first single / video

Single 'Nine for Hell' out now
New record Deathmarch out 8th March 2019

The Royal - New Press Pic.jpg

THE ROYAL have premiered their new single and video for 'Nine For Hell', the first track taken from the 3rd studio album Deathwatch which will be released on March 8th, 2019 viaLong Branch Records.

Dutch metal band THE ROYAL keeps exploring the wide variety of today's metal scene. After the release of their first label release Seven - which was hailed for its catchy riffs and uplifting songs - THE ROYAL played numerous club shows and festivals across 25 European countries during a two month tour. This was followed by a series of intercontinental shows during a four week tour in Japan and China.

Having spend much time on tour writing songs and discussing heavy topics, THE ROYALdecided to explore the darker side of metalcore on their upcoming album Deathwatch. The new record is a mix of catchy riffs with heavy breakdowns and ambient sounds. There is a lot of raw emotion put into this upcoming record, in which the band processes what has been a very emotional past year.

THE ROYAL's DIY work ethic with writing, producing, design and more has resulted in an album true to the band's vision. Whether it’s vocalist Sem Pisarahu writing about life struggles, or the exceptional guitar work of JD and Pim, if you like shadowy, epic sounding, emotional metal music, rest assured, this album is for you.

The band's vocalist Rich comments:

"I think Phil Collins is one of the best British songwriters of all time. I've always loved 'In the Air Tonight' and remember hearing it vividly as a child. Something about the general vibe and ambience of the song always stuck with me.

I love everything about it from a songwriters point of view, it has the structure, the dynamics, the emotion and that incredible drum intro. I've been toying with the idea of doing something with it but was always scared to touch the song as it's loved by so many people. It seemed like the right time so I started work on my take on the song. I wanted to pay homage to it but make sure it had that classic
OA sound and I'm really happy with how its turned out."

The new single kickstarts the independent and unsigned band's new era. Following 3.5 million streams of debut LP, Night Sky (2017), OF ALLIES are back with a bang. Expect news on LP 2 shortly.

OF ALLIES have already caught the eyes and ears of other notable UK press and industry, including Metal Hammer, Kerrang!, and radio play on Huw Stephens’ Radio 1 show, Alex Baker's Kerrang! Radio Fresh Blood show and BBC Introducing. The band have also found success on Spotify Official playlisting with previous singles '17', 'Lost Not Found', and 'Glass House'.

This comes as no surprise as the band boast an undeniably British stamp; a thick, multi-layered sound that is fast becoming OF ALLIES' trademark. For fans of Twin AtlanticBreaking Benjamin, DeftonesLower Than Atlantis and FightstarOF ALLIES tread the lines between alternative rock, melodic rock and UK rock whilst always hinting at something darker.

Watch the band live:

19th Jan - The Monarch Camden, London (Camden Rocks All-Dayer)

THE INTERSPHERE share single & video "Mind Over Matter"

New album The Grand Delusion out November 30th

The_Intersphere_2018-6705.jpg

German alternative rock band THE INTERSPHERE share their new single 'Mind Over Matter' along with an official music video. It's the third track taken from the new studio album The Grand Delusion which will be released this Friday, November 30th, via Long Branch Records.

Watch the new video here

Singer and guitarist Christoph Hessler about 'Mind Over Matter':

'Mind Over Matter is a song that I wrote when I was going through a very difficult time, I was feeling really down and pretty preoccupied with myself. Nevertheless, the song should be understood as a life-affirming declaration of war, a call to reflect on and to face your problems. I didn't want the song to drown in melancholy just because of the theme, actually it’s quite the opposite. That's why the song became so energetic and even danceable in the end.'

SINGLE MOTHERS premiere video for 'Tan Line (Like Passing Through A Wall)'

UK/EU Tour w/ Drug Church starts January 31st
New album Through A Wall is out now via Big Scary Monsters

Single Mothers press pic.jpg

In September, the favorite sons of Southern Ontario hardcore SINGLE MOTHERS surprise released their ferocious 3rd album, Through A Wall, on Dine Alone Records & Big Scary Monsters. The album, which Noisey called 'their most vicious yet,' is a blistering return to the band's hardcore roots, and the band have premiered the animated video for its (almost) title track 'Tan Line (Like Passing Through A Wall)' with Kerrang!

WATCH: SINGLE MOTHERS's 'Tan Line (Like Passing Through A Wall)' here: https://youtu.be/ls4bItw1zo8

Frontman Drew Thomson identifies the track as being representative of the central issues he was working through while writing the songs that became Through A Wall.

"I was reading a lot of Murakami going into this record,"
Thomson tells Kerrang. "Before recording began for Through A Wall I had just come off of a cross Canada solo tour and really threw myself into ‘The Wind Up Bird Chronicles’.

"The solo tour was an amazing experience - I had never driven across the country by myself, or gone on tour alone, but had always wanted to do both. Pairing it with that book…it’s given the experience a very.. layered reflection.

"It was on that trip that I thought about calling this record Through A Wall for the first time. We had started demoing a couple songs but we weren’t far into it. Usually I leave titles to the last possible minute but a lot has changed for me and the band since Our Pleasure came out. Everything has changed since Negative Qualities.

"This band constantly feels like it’s hoping and skipping along with or without me and I’m just floating in and out of sync with it constantly trying to figure out where I am and where it is. This song ‘Tan Line’ is about falling in and out of sync. ‘Spread out folly somewhere in your mind, pieces of who you and I collide’ - how we all grow together, separately but hold onto what we remember we were as truth. “You’ve changed” - obviously. Life is short, and it seems like we’re always trying to catch up, find short cuts into each other - like passing through the walls we all put up".

The band's UK/EU tour with Drug Church starts at the end of January next year. Full details can be found below.

What the press is saying about Single Mothers:

"Combining scab-peeling punk with speak-shout vocals reminiscent of the Hold Steady,
this band of townies from London, Ontario, ruthlessly skewers hypocrites,
McSweeney's snobs, drunk assholes, and God, just to name a few."

 Pitchfork

"[Thomson's] lyrics touch on relationships, poverty, and ambition with a blunt poetry that would seem voyeuristic if it weren't so relatable...a pitch-perfect balance of sincere vulnerability and tongue-in-cheek egotism"
Noisey

"Single Mothers are back, boiling over with rage, and we couldn't be happier."
Revolver

"Single Mothers live and die by post-hardcore, taking influence from forefathers that range from Quicksand to indie-rooted acts like Cursive, creating a version that is singularly theirs and singularly incendiary."
BrooklynVegan

The news continues CONJURER's rise, following their breakout 2018 year. Landing high in many "album of the year" lists around the world, the band's highly acclaimed debut LP Mire was released on 9th March via Holy Roar Records.

Championed by Kerrang!, Metal Hammer, BBC R1, AV Club, Upset, MetalSucks and across Europe, CONJURER are fast becoming the most talked-about young metal band from the UK in 2018. Nominated for multiple awards, CONJURER's 2018 included their first ever EU tour, subsequent dates with Will Haven and Conan; and sets at UK Tech-Fest2000trees,Bloodstock Open AirArcTanGent Festival (two sets), and Euroblast Festival.

A stunning listen, combining Opeth at their heaviest and most dynamic, Mastodon at their earliest, and Gojira at their most venomous, Mire is a step up from a band who had already impressed with debut EP I.

Equal turns bleak, dark, stark, and beautiful, Mire is an album which makes true the cliché “a journey of a listen”. From the apocalyptic opener ‘Choke’ to the haunting soundscapes within the eponymous track, this LP is as impressive in its power as in its multi-layered dynamism.

It takes an intimate look into the idea of self-improvement and how working on being the best ‘you’ can have both positive and negative effects, whilst also affecting those around you. In honesty, some of the lyrics were difficult to put down on paper. It talks of close family, friends and relationships in a really intimate way and I often felt I had to ask their permission to speak so candidly about them."

After a huge response following the release of their debut album Inguz, NORMANDIE inked a deal with Easy Life Records earlier this year. Inguz, a Viking rune, symbolised the band's new direction after the departure of their heavier co-vocalist, where they honed-in on a groundbreaking rock sound and have since seen support from the Radio 1 Rock ShowKerrang! Radio, Rock SoundKerrang! TV, Scuzz TV and more. The soaring melodies are captivating, the choruses are explosive, and overall NORMANDIE deliver a spine-tingling sound that wouldn't sound out of place in arenas.

The band’s live show has blown away crowds throughout the UK and Europe, with several headline runs including a sold out show at London's Boston Music Room.
