CONTINUUM premiere 'A History Denied' music video

US masters of tech death CONTINUUM have premiered a music video for their song 'A History Denied' via Metalsucks. The track is from the group's highly anticipated forthcoming album Designed Obsolescence which will be released on 22nd February via Unique Leader Records.

The album shows how well the group - which features current and ex-members of Animosity, Decrepit Birth, Allegaeon, Brain Drill, Inanimate Existence, and Rings of Saturn - commands extreme metal songwriting and continues to expand on the sound first brought explored on their stunning 2015 debut The Hypothesis

The band commented on the video, "We knew we wanted to do something other than your typical band performance video and Marshall Wieczorek and Michelle Nisbet did a great job at writing and directing the plot driven video that is loosely based on the concept of our new album Designed Obsolescence. I feel like the vibe of mystery and intrigue go great with the song which has some new songwriting elements we’ve never used in Continuum before. Hopefully you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed shooting it."

CONTINUUM will be touring the US West Coast this March alongside Alterbeast and Aethere

TRUTH CORRODED premiere lyric video and launch album pre-orders

Australian death thrashers TRUTH CORRODED have unleashed the lead single and lyric video for 'To The Carnal Earth' from the band's upcoming new album Bloodlands. The new album will be released 22nd March via iconic extreme music label Unique Leader Records.

Featuring a guest solo from the legendary Terrance Hobbs of Suffocation, check out 'To The Carnal Earth' here: https://youtu.be/xEvLiV7utDM

Commenting on the song, bassist Greg Shaw offers "To The Carnal Earth' is the opening song from our upcoming album, and it is an absolute privilege to feature Terrance for a guest solo. We were very fortunate to have toured alongside Suffocation in Asia and Europe and became good friends with the band. The solo is completely off the hook and is both signature of the Hobbs style and fitting to the era and influences of the song. It also sums up what you can anticipate from the new album."

Terrance stands alongside a host of impressive guest artists on the new album which include Stephen Carpenter of the DeftonesMark Kloeppel of Misery IndexRyan Knight formerly of The Black Dahlia Murder and ex-Suffocation drummer Kevin Talley.

Artwork for the album was created by Gary Ronaldson at Bite Radius Designs (Napalm Death, Misery Index, Benighted) and captures the dark concept underlying the albums title.

"Both the album title and new song regard war and what compels a person to fight. The title refers to lands that have soaked up the blood of the fallen to give growth to later conflict, and the new song relates to what compels conflict and what it preys upon" adds Shaw.

Bloodlands Track-listing:

1. To The Carnal Earth
2. The Leeches Feed
3. Conquest Of Divide
4. Victims Left Lepers
5. Bloodlands
6. The Storm
7. Of Open Eyes And Willing Hands

Sludgecore Leviathans MASTIFF Debut Disgusting New Video 'Brainbleed'
Photo 2.jpg

"Churning pestilence and pervasive darkness." 4K - Kerrang Magazine
"Exhilarating agony." 8/10 - Metal Hammer
"Ungodly amounts of disgust." - Metal Injection
"An onslaught of savage music." - Exlaim.ca
"I’m really happy we can name bands after dogs now." - Metal Sucks
"MASTIFF have delivered the album we need." - Distorted Sound Magazine

Sludgecore leviathans MASTIFF have released their latest single, 'Brainbleed', taken from the critically acclaimed new album, Plague, which was unleashed upon an unsuspecting and quite frankly unprepared public last Friday, 1st February via APF Records.

Brainbleed is a 44 second savage, blink and you'll miss it, sensory assault.

The UK's premier misery spreaders MASTIFF have gained worldwide notoriety,  applause and disgusted confusion from metal outlets for their abrasive blend of churning sludge and formidable hardcore, creating a release dominated by raw, unadorned aggression and volatility.

Plague is the band’s first full-length album on APF Records, and represents the misanthropic quintet at their most intense and unrelenting. Born of their disgust at humanity’s false nature, and the way in which our deceit and lies spread through social media, Plague is the culmination of a lifetime of frustration, hatred and sorrow, filtered through the most brutal and pummelling material MASTIFF have ever concocted.

Across eight tracks of mutable anger, raw power and bitter resignation, MASTIFF manage to capture the sound of a country in its death throes.  From the opening blast of ‘Hellcircle’ to the apocalyptic finality of ‘Black Death’, the album is a work of nail-biting extremity, and finds the band veering wildly from Nails-esque grind into the depths of harrowing doom. The end result, a band that sounds like it’s trying to rip itself apart through music.

Plague is out NOW via APF Records. Ltd edition vinyl orders are available via APF Records here. CD and digital orders available here. Stream on Spotify here

O.R.k. release new single 'Black Blooms' featuring System Of A Down's Serj Tankian
O.R.k resize .jpg

O.R.k. have revealed their new single & video for 'Black Blooms', which features their collaboration with the iconic System Of A Down frontman Serj Tankian. The track is taken from the band's forthcoming album Ramagehead which is due for release on 22nd February 2019 via Kscope

Check out 'Black Blooms' here: https://youtu.be/NEJleqOXiuw

O.R.k. features Italy’s celebrated vocalist, producer and award-winning film score composer Lorenzo Esposito Fornasari a.k.a LEF (lead vocals), King Crimson's Pat Mastelotto (drums), Porcupine Tree's Colin Edwin (bass), Marta Sui Tubi's Carmelo Pipitone (guitars).

Colin Edwin explains how the collaboration with Serj Tankian came about:

The involvement of Serj Tankian came about through legendary producer Bill Laswell, who played bass on Lef's 2018 solo album Hypersomniac. Laswell passed a copy of Hypersomniac to Serj, who was impressed enough to also check out O.R.k. and our previous two albums. This led directly to Lef and Serj connecting and discussing potentially collaborating at some point; it was just at the time we were working on Ramagehead, so of course a suggestion had to be made. Lef sent him the tracks as a ‘work in progress’ and from this, Serj himself chose 'Black Blooms' as the song he wished to sing and work with us on.”

He continues, “the development of 'Black Blooms' took a few unexpected turns as we all contributed along the way, Pat Mastelotto's masterful drumming added an underlying aspect of urgency I hadn't anticipated on the original demo, and Carmelo Pipitone manages to strike a superlative balance between sensitivity and total fireworks as the song progresses. The atmosphere was always going to be a great context for Lef's vocals, but the biggest surprise was Serj Tankian's involvement, which really amazed me when I first heard it, he's added, not simply a great vocal performance, but the exact amount of extra depth to the framework, to turn it into something truly special, and if I didn't know better, I would have thought 'Black Blooms' was made with him in mind."

The forthcoming album Ramagehead, their first for Kscope, was created from the band’s collective vision, unique influences and a multi-layered reflection of their powerful and engaging live experience. The resulting epic contains all the ingredients of a fiery O.R.k. performance with dark and heavy riffing and mesmeric atmospheres.

Recorded during 2018 at LefMusicStudio (Italy), The Wormhole (USA) and Nightspace (UK), the mixing for Ramagehead was handled by Adrian Benavides and three-time Grammy-winning engineer Marc Urselli (U2Foo FightersNick Cave), the mastering by Michael Fossenkemper, engineering by Benavides and Bill Munyon (King Crimson), cover art by Adam Jones (TOOL) and design by Denis Rodier (SupermanBatmanWonder Woman). The recordings, and involvement of SOAD’s Serj Tankian on 'Black Blooms' solidifies the band's serious intent to use their musical chemistry in exploring the hard-edged possibilities within rock.

Pre-orders of Ramagehead are available here: https://ork.lnk.to/RamageheadPR

O.R.k. have an extensive live campaign planned in support of Ramagehead which will begin in February 2019 with a European and UK headline run, as well as being special guests on the continuing Dissolution Tour with new label mates The Pineapple Thief.
