New alt-rock trio WINCHESTER have released 'Line Up', the fourth single from their stunning debut LP Life Begins At These Dead Ends (9th February 2018).
Watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKq1MZdQ1Zo&feature=youtu.be
Listen to or purchase the album here:

As vocalist Adam comments:
"'Line Up' is the spiritual predecessor to our previous single 'Diamond' and seems to come at an apt point in our timeline. We explore how similar the archetypes of the freedom fighter and the terrorist are and how dangerous revolution is when it comes back around. Time and time again we talk about THEM and US, instead of coming together in a loving way towards peace and understanding the reasons we feel the need to act out in violence."
Watch 'Diamond' here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3H5eo9wMvJI
Although young, WINCHESTER are a band with a promising array of sounds. The eclectic alt-rockers tastefully mix elements of technical rock/metal, metalcore, alt-rock and melodic rock. Influenced by the likes of Fightstar, Funeral for a Friend, Nothing More, Deftonesand Biffy Clyro, WINCHESTER utilise powerful riffs, versatile rhythms and emotional lyrics.
Life Begins... establishes the band as a group to keep eyes on. The threepiece’s first effort has been produced by Dan Weller (Dream State, Holding Absence).
Drawing from the intense social climate of today, WINCHESTER have nurtured a sound and a concept that rings true with the twists and turns of tomorrow. With a live show that manages to recreate and somehow elevate their epic sound, this is something fresh that you don’t want to miss.
In the past 6 months alone, Winchester have performed over 40 shows as well as completing completing a UK/EU tours with Time, The Valuator
They've just finished touring the UK with Remenitions and are set to support Dream State, for a sold-out hometown show in Bristol (The Exchange) this Saturday (23rd March).
Maverick electro/math/post-rock duo AIMING FOR ENRIKE have unveiled their new single and video for 'Hard Dance Brainia', released 15th March 2019 via Pekula Records.
The video, premiered via Heavy Blog Is Heavy, is available to watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHKD7hkGNto
Purchase/stream: https://orcd.co/harddancebrainia
It’s safe to say that AIMING FOR ENRIKE’s fame is mostly thanks to their frenetic, wild and engaging live shows – having toured extensively in USA, India, Japan, Czech Republic, Norway, England and Germany for several years.
The duo are known for experimenting with noisy musical transformations and frenetic sonic attacks, but increasingly are shifting their focus towards the club and dancefloor. The result - more futuristic, funky and increasingly communal music.
Imagine a combination of Talking Heads, Jon Hopkins, Three Trapped Tigers, The Algorithm and you'll come close to the sounds created by AIMING FOR ENRIKE.
Energy and explosiveness have always been key musical factors for AIMING FOR ENRIKE, and there’s no doubt that the band live entirely live in their own universe, where everything revolves around insane instrumental chemistry and sparks flying between drummer Simen Følstad Nilsen and Tobias Ørnes Andersen.
The duo are on the road nonstop this year - watch them at one of the following shows:

K rockers OF ALLIES have released their new single/video 'Blossoms' (08.03.19 release), the first taste of new material since their smash 2017 debut full-length.
Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/caPj9IQRpIY
Listen/stream here: http://smarturl.it/blossoms-ofallies
Following 3.5 million streams of debut LP, Night Sky (2017), OF ALLIES are back with a bang.
The new single kickstarts the independent and unsigned band's new era and is the first glimpse of the band's forthcoming second LP, due later this year.
OF ALLIES have already caught the eyes and ears of other notable UK press and industry, including Metal Hammer, Kerrang!, and radio play on Huw Stephens’ Radio 1 show, Alex Baker's Kerrang! Radio Fresh Blood show and BBC Introducing. The band have also found success on Spotify Official playlisting with previous singles '17', 'Lost Not Found', and 'Glass House'.
This comes as no surprise as the band boast an undeniably British stamp; a thick, multi-layered sound that is fast becoming OF ALLIES' trademark. For fans of Twin Atlantic, Breaking Benjamin,Deftones, Lower Than Atlantis and Fightstar, OF ALLIES tread the lines between alternative rock, melodic rock and UK rock whilst always hinting at something darker.
Trippy metal trio KUROKUMA have announced their third EP Sheffield's Best Metal Bands Vol.1 will be released via Off Me Nut Records on May 3rd 2019 ahead of their appearance at Desertfest UK on May 5th.
Check out their teaser here:
After earning acclaimed reviews for their Advorsus EP (2016) and Dope Rider EP (2018), KUROKUMA's cult-like notoriety for producing avant-garde music, heavy yet multidimensional, has continued to grow. Now, the band have teamed up with notorious electronic record label Off Me Nut Records for their latest release, which sees the label's first ever foray into the murky world of metal. Sheffield’s Best Metal Bands Vol. 1 finds the band burrowing deeper into an atmospheric world of their own creation, producing four leviathan tracks that are a consciousness-expanding 24-minute refraction of monumentally unsettled ambient heaviness and blackened sludge. And there's even a Jamiroquai cover thrown in for good measure (Deeper Underground). This is some persuasively weird shit.
The band comments: "It's a product of being on the road a lot more this past year, seeing a lot of metal bands outside of just the stoner/doom circles, and then just bringing in a few influences from outside metal. We listen to things from all across the musical spectrum; lately it's been a lot of electronic music and beats, and that's nothing particularly unique, but we've never drawn lines between genres or been hesitant about bringing what we like to listen to into the band. There's a darkness and an intensity that you might find in unexpected places if you're willing to look. Reality is twisted, you'll never escape it. We're taking the weird shit that flows through our brains and in front of our eyes, cranking the volume and putting it on cassette. And when we took a step back and looked at the lyrics and song titles on this release, we realised that, if you had to describe it, everything related to a theme of weird creatures that are misunderstood by society at large, which, to be honest, is a good way of summing up who we are.“
KUROKUMA recently gained further spotlight after being featured in The Doom Doc, an independent documentary on the doom scene which followed KUROKUMA's drummer, Joe E Allen, and featured interviews with original Black Sabbath drummer Bill Ward, Primitive Man, Conan, Slabdragger, and many others.
Having perfected their engaging sound on stages worldwide from the UK to Japan with bands such as Conan, Crowbar, Trap Them, KEN Mode, Boss Keloid, Primitive Man and Skeletonwitch to name a few, the next few months will see the band playing select dates and festivals including Desertfest in London in support of their EP. Sheffield’s Best Metal Bands Vol. 1 will be released by Off Me Nut Records on May 3rd. Pre-orders will be available soon.
See KUROKUMA live at one of the following dates:
March 24th, Dreadfest, Leeds (UK)

DANIEL TOMPKINS has announced his debut solo album Castles, due for release on 31st May 2019 via Kscope.
To coincide with the announcement, TOMPKINS has revealed new single and video 'Saved'. Directed by Blacktide Productions, the single features Acle Kahney (TesseracT).
Check out 'Saved' here: https://youtu.be/WgNNZoN3eho
Already part of the Kscope family as the vocalist in TesseracT, TOMPKINS comments on signing to Kscope as a solo artist:
“I’m ecstatic to have the backing of Kscope. They believe in what I’m producing and wish to support me as I freely express myself as a solo artist. I cannot thank them enough.”
Within Castles, the listener will explore an album inspired by the arc of relationships – tragic mistakes, misjudgements of character and victorious, passionate love.
TOMPKINS expands on this theme:
“Everyone has experiences that are relatable to one another in their romantic relationships. We make huge investments of trust and care and commitment into one another and sometimes they simply fail. In fact, most fail. That said, some survive, thrive and create incredible lifelong partnerships or at least important, long lasting love. But sometimes, we make massive misjudgements of character and the true nature of someone is always revealed over time. Sometimes tragic mistakes, physical or mental abuse, compulsion or addiction are an issue and create irreparable harm to relationships and lives, no matter how in love two people may be. This is the area where the most tragic outcomes occur. The album is somewhat cathartic lyrically but in other areas it explores amazing, victorious, passionate love. A lot of this story is told from the perspective of someone seeking that perfect partnership and the ultimate fulfilment of finding it.”
Castles will be released on CD, LP (180g black vinyl) and digital (pre-orders receive 'Saved' feat. Acle Kahney as an instant download). Pre-orders are available here: https://danieltompkins.lnk.to/CastlesPR
Castles was written & engineered by TOMPKINS alongside US producer Eddie Head (Haji's Kitchen) and recorded at both the UK’s Celestial Sound Studio (Vocals) & The Color And The Sound Studios(Music) in the US, with mastering by Acle Kahney at 4D Sounds; together they created the dynamic realisation of Tompkins' expansive ability and taste: pulsating synths, beautiful keyboard lines, powerful electric guitars, heavy crash cymbals, and both skittering and forceful beats. The space created by the production allows TOMPKINS' voice to switch skilfully from tender and introspective to soaring emotion in a blend of pop-rock-electronic sounds that engages his eclectic audience. The result is a masterclass in tension and release.
This 13 track album features six alternative versions, which feature special guests Acle Kahney (TesseracT), Grammy-nominated Randy Slaugh (Periphery, Architects, Devin Townsend), Paul Ortiz (Zeta, Chimpspanner) and producer Dmitry Stepanov. With the stunning artwork created by Ani Artworks.
A diverse vocalist, TOMPKINS has established himself as a highly respected artist with a dedicated worldwide fanbase garnered from his work with the global progressive metal sensations TesseracT and Skyharbor, the experimental pop oriented White Moth Black Butterfly, which recently included a collaboration with percussive guitarist Jon Gomm, and the rise of his more accessible solo material.
In creating Castles TOMPKINS found the freedom to truly express his originality and artistry, he explains “I have directed and produced every aspect of the project. It's been an extremely liberating project to have full control and essentially redesign my image and approach to music creation. This feels like a new start as an artist and the most excited I have personally been so far throughout my career.”

UK rock quintet BRIGHTLIGHT CITY have announced their debut album The Harmony & The Chaos, due for release on 17th May 2019 via Undead Collective Records.
To coincide with the announcement, BRIGHTLIGHT CITY have revealed new single 'Statues & Monuments'. A deeply personal lead single from the forthcoming album, vocalist/lyricist Jamie Giarraputo explains:
“This is a song about struggling with depression and anxiety, it can be so overwhelming and
consuming. The verses are an explanation of sorts, into what it feels like to be at your lowest point, which stemmed from the questions always being asked like “why do you feel so down today?” or the classic “what’s wrong?”, sometimes there is no reason. The expectation is that you should just ‘suck it up’ and be strong, but that isn’t always possible and should never be the first expectation of anyone suffering with metal health issues. This song live still gets me quite emotional as it takes me back to a point that I never want to return to, again the therapy of playing this live is great.”
Check out 'Statues & Monuments' here: https://youtu.be/12ZnmbwxXS4
The band have also released a live acoustic version of the single: https://youtu.be/N-BdWK0siLc
Of the debut album BRIGHTLIGHT CITY comment:
"The Harmony & The Chaos has a number of themes in every individual song. The title itself was something that we have been using for a while now. For us it started as a description of us live with someone stating ‘you guys sit in a pocket between harmony and chaos’. The more we thought about it the more it made sense with the themes for songs we were writing as well as how we see live shows. It is also a great description of where we are in society and within ourselves skating the fine line between harmony and chaos."
Pre-order The Harmony & The Chaos here: https://orcd.co/thtc
See BRIGHTLIGHT CITY live at one of the following dates:
16.03.2019 - Canterbury, UCA Bar
29.03.2019 - Kingston, Fighting Cocks (Undead Collective showcase)
11.04.2019 - London, Nambucca (supporting Brigade)
21.04.2019 - Swindon, Level 3
24.04.2019 - London, Tooting Tram & Social
03.05.2019 - London, Notting Hill Arts Club (supporting Mantra)
08.05.2019 - London, New Cross Inn
01.06.2019 - London, Camden Rocks Festival
29.06.2019 - Canterbury, Melofest
The Harmony & The Chaos follows BRIGHTLIGHT CITY's highly-regarded 2017 EP Our Future's Not Dead, which saw support from Kerrang!, Powerplay Magazine, and more. Eleven tracks of polished UK rock which tread the lines between robust British Indie and classic alt-rock, The Harmony & The Chaos is an accomplished record from a band ready to show their full potential. Elements of Hundred Reasons,Thrice, Press To Meco, Reuben and more clash and collide in the LP which is bursting with melody and attitude.
Highly personal, the album covers a variety of viewpoints from a group passionate about homegrown talent (running their own record label), literature, politics and art. From fake news ('Feast On Fear'), to war photography ('Through The Lens') and Italian governmental corruption ('Songs Of Dissent'), The Harmony & The Chaos is a disarmingly deep and multi-faceted release.
In their history BRIGHTLIGHT CITY have supported Rise Against, Millencolin, Dead!, Blood Youth, Press To Meco, Max Raptor, Fizzy Blood, Bad Sign, amongst others, a company of bands which marks the newer UK group as ones to watch.
