New masked hard rock act THE NEW DEATH CULT have released their fourth single 'Moon', out now via Indie Recordings. The track is taken from the band's self-titled debut album The New Death Cult, which is due for release through the label on 6th September 2019.
Premiered via Dead Press, check out 'Moon' here: https://youtu.be/w7671Isk2EA

A new force in rock, the masked group present themselves as otherworldly, a group arriving with fresh music and important messages for humanity. The four members ALPHA (vocals, guitar), BETA (lead guitar), GAMMA (bass), and DELTA (drums) combine with music centred around true love, peaceful activism, and an anti-war and anti-destruction ethos.
Bandleader ALPHA comments on the new single:
"'Moon' is about the power to speak up and let your voice be heard, even if you feel small. It's about the freedom to be yourself and let nobody tell you who or how to be.
The moon may seem small and insignificant compared to the Earth, but without its magnetic pull, the tides would seize and it's axis would be tilted to haywire. It's essential and overlooking the revolving Earth.
'Moon' is also about the failed war on drugs, and the way it's waged on human consciousness, having people imprisoned and impoverished over what would be considered relatively harmless recreational drug use, while the distribution of hard drugs like heroin flourish behind the scenes.
The dinosaurs are fading away. Younger generations are taking over. It's time to re-think. Time to speak up. Time to revolt. Time to howl at the 'Moon'."
A crossover between the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro, and Pink Floyd, the group drive heavy rock in a new direction whilst giving a nod toward the greatest 90s rock acts. Desert rock collides with a tinge of psychedelia and cosmic grandeur, creating a scintillating new sound.
'Moon' follows THE NEW DEATH CULT's previous singles 'Light Spills Over', 'Zeitgeist' and 'True Eyes', which collectively have garnered over 200,000 streams currently, official Spotify and Deezer playlist support, and support from Dan P Carter's BBC Radio 1 Rock Show.

In recent years, KLONE have built their name on making music that’s as deeply introspective as it is sonically powerful. Le Grand Voyage, the band’s first release for UK post-progressive specialists Kscope, is an album brimming with that sense of searching and self-discovery, its ten tracks living up to their name in unabashed, no-stone-unturned, existential exploration.
Much of the inspiration for the album, including 'Hidden Passenger', came from pondering the great philosophies of life, those eternal unanswered questions like who we are, where we are going and, ultimately, what happens next. It was the uncertainty and confusion surrounding mortality, the notion that something or nothing awaits us, which felt like an unlimited creative playground for the French art-rockers.
Guillaume Bernard, KLONE’s guitarist, gives a further insight into the album’s inspiration:
“Me and Yann, our singer and lyricist, were watching documentaries about near death experiences, and what happens after death? What is the spirit? Those kinds of questions. We found it an exciting and a mysterious subject to think about – what really happens? We feel that we create music that is deeply connected to the universe. We used a lot of reverb, almost as if we were to touch everything in space… we want our music to resonate in the cosmos!”
What KLONE have created is bold in sonic ambition, twisting dark guitars and electronic ambience into a modern masterpiece that feels excitingly new, yet in many ways feels like a contemporary take on Pink Floyd’s Dark Side Of The Moon.
The first single & opening track from Le Grand Voyage, 'Yonder', bridges the gap between this latest opus and 2015 studio full-length Here Comes The Sun. Mixed by Francis Castes at the Sainte Marthe studio in Paris, Bernard describes the music as a “natural and logical continuation of the song The Last Experience which concluded our previous album." Watch KLONE performing 'Yonder' live at this summer’s Hellfest here: https://youtu.be/MDw7qqrxJd8
Having racked up a lot of interest on home soil after previous albums Here Comes The Sun and Unplugged, KLONE are now looking to focus on and extend their international operations. They’ve performed in the UK with cult grunge heroes King’s X and French metal titans Gojira, toured with Devin Townsend and landed supports for Helmet, Orphaned Land and Anneke Van Giersbergen.

THE DREW THOMSON FOUNDATION, the project by Single Mothers frontman Drew Thomson, has released their new single 'Barbed Wire'. The track is taken from the band's self-titled debut album,The Drew Thomson Foundation, which is due for release on 6th September 2019 via Dine Alone Records.
Check out 'Barbed Wire' here: https://youtu.be/ixb6kMKfNCA
"'Barbed Wire' is a song I wrote thinking about how weird it is to keep getting older but not feeling like you’re growing up," Thomson explains. "It’s a small bracket of time, those ‘in-between’ years, and I’ve found myself caught in them now wondering how someone is supposed to act whose life has diverted from their peer group, and is finding it hard to relate."
Pre-order The Drew Thomson Foundation here: https://smarturl.it/DrewThomson
THE DREW THOMSON FOUNDATION’s self-titled debut album follows a period of self-reflection and rectification to reveal surprising new sides of its songwriter. Produced by Alex Newport (At the Drive-In, City and Colour, Frank Turner) in his Los Angeles studio, its recording sessions found the Single Mothers frontman joined by bandmates and longtime collaborators to cultivate a collection of vulnerable lyrics into vivid, hook-laden anthems. Laying feelings bare on Thomson’s newfound sobriety, the death of a loved one, and pushing away people who he wants to keep closest, it welcomes listeners on his journey towards inner peace.
The past 12 months have seen THE DREW THOMSON FOUNDATION share stages with Bob Mould,The Dirty Nil, and New Swears, but he’s just getting started. While the 2018 solo EP, Stay, first unveiled his contrasting musical directions, this album cites the influence of songwriters carrying on the tradition of folk storytelling regardless of their genre. From the heart-rending alt-country of Okkervil River to The Streets’ grime hip-hop finding pathos within life’s mundane moments, Thomson also points to Third Eye Blind’s sun-kissed melodies serving as a masquerade for the darkness underneath. There’s even a flicker of Rufus Wainwright’s orchestral torch songs on the violin, brass, and piano-draped reworking of Single Mothers’ ‘People Are Pets’.
The album’s first single ‘Break’ paints a painfully real story of romance turning stale, as Thomson sings,“you need a break to know I’m the one for you.” However, he explains it’s not based on a relationship but instead looking inward, with the effort required to split from his past self to arrive as the person he is today. This theme is echoed on ‘Stay’, a song dedicated to the grandmother who raised him, whose death he tragically learned about moments before stepping onstage at the UK’s Reading and Leeds Festival. On its yearning chorus, he sings, “I wish you’d stayed around for a little while/Seen the changes that I would make/Yeah, I think that I would have made you proud/Of the person I became.”
Thomson credits this experience with snapping him out of a 10-year alcoholic spiral, battling his depression and the crippling anxiety of a life spent in front of crowds by drinking himself into oblivion. During a recording session, he recalls a moment when he was the only one in studio with a glass of wine and realised it had become a dependency. While his earlier songs included lyrics about getting “Bukowski drunk,” Thomson never intended to glorify drinking, instead aiming to satirise his own struggles. If that sarcastic skewering flew over fans’ heads, they can’t miss the point of this album’s ‘Pace Yourself’, a slowly swaying lament about becoming a “diet Coke and lime guy” to avoid “losing everything you’ve ever held dear”.
“By drinking a decade away, I also pushed away a lot of people close to me,” he admits. “People had been telling me to quit for years and I never listened to them. You really have to want to get sober and believe it’s for the best. I don’t ask anyone else in the band to avoid drinking, but if I have one or two I slip back into that other world, so I just avoid it completely. It’s been a huge benefit. I write more, I work better, I’m less reactive, and easier to be around. I just have to handle self-doubt on my own. I don’t want to base everything I do around sobriety, but it’s been the biggest thing in my life lately and made everything with the Foundation possible.”
Never one to shy away from sad songs or flawed characters, where he says he finds “a lot of romance,”Thomson’s lyrics tell the tales of troubled narrators who may or may not be himself. On opener ‘Karma’ he sings in first person, as someone trying so hard to prove they fit in that their cocky overcompensation becomes obvious: “I’ve never been left out/I wouldn’t even know how.” The bouncing bass line of ‘Phone Ring’ traces a conversation between two people stuck in a pattern of behaviour where “trouble feels safe,” while the cowbell-driven ‘Centerfold’ finds him realising he was “just the audience for your scream.”Returning to the theme of sobriety, ‘Barbed Wire’ brings him and an unnamed partner in crime to a place“a long way from wasted,” though he barely wastes a breath before admitting his own fallibility: “growing up’s got you down/well, you and me both.”
“Almost all of these songs started out on acoustic guitar in my bedroom, the same way I’ve been writing music since I was in grade seven,” says Thomson. “They’re more intimate and not something I’ve really shared this way before. Where Single Mothers songs can come from the perspective of a character that I play and put on, this band is more about who I am in my day-to-day life. It’s a lot more revealing of who I am now. I started playing music 10 years ago as a lost early 20s alcoholic. I’m now 33, sober, and still a mess but not quite a disaster.”

BEING AS AN OCEAN are giving fans a deeper look into their upcoming album, Proxy: An A.N.I.M.O. Story, with their second single ‘Find Our Way’. Proxy will be available on all platforms on 13th September 2019.
Check out 'Find Our Way' here: https://open.spotify.com/album/0g9OjUMPur1T2fFupKaAcg
“We have all encountered monsters in life and will all endure pain. I believe there is great comfort and healing to be had in the comprehension of this truth. That even with life’s suffering, there is almost unlimited potential for happiness and gratitude. We have time given to us, we are alive and breathing, we feel deeply, we can sense, we can experience joy and elation. I count these things as blessings.
"The point of carrying on in this world is the living out of joy and purpose (essential elements in a person’s life) for one’s self and the cultivation of them in our communities. I believe that community, another essential element in life, is something that we are all built for and deserving of. We have always held each other so close as friends in this band and understand the importance of leaning into the support of loved ones. This song is a reminder to keep the faith and trust the goodness and strength of those you keep close. The music community became the biggest joy in my life and informed my purpose, so if this song uplifts at least one music-lover, then it’s done its job.” - Joel Quartuccio
‘Find Our Way’ follows the recent release of lead single ‘Play Pretend’, and its cinematic sci-fi companion video/short film, which was directed by BRUME. Hailed by Alternative Press for being “so massive it might just give you whiplash”, the clip can be seen HERE. Loudwire described the video as “sci-fi fueled Armageddon meets the hallucinatory side effects of mushroom tea, aided by airy post-rock elements, futuristic-sounding multi-tracked vocals and electronic-styled drum beats.”
‘Find Our Way’ and ‘Play Pretend’ are both available as instant-grats by pre-ordering Proxy: An A.N.I.M.O.Story here: https://backl.ink/PROXY

Grammy-nominated producer and collaborator Zakk Cervini (Blink-182, Poppy, Halsey) helped the band to build songs from the ground up in the studio (He worked with them on 2018’s “Alone,” which emerged in just 12 hours). This new process carried forward into the making of Proxy: An A.N.I.M.O.Story. Each song sprang from the collective. Nothing was considered “finished” until everyone shared enthusiasm and satisfaction in the results.
In an interview with Alternative Press, Joel Quartuccio talked about raising the bar: “We always keep pushing ourselves,” he says. “It’s important to each and every single one of us to be better and keep incorporating new things that we love that we want to see in all of the art we put out. The very first music video we ever shot was done by Tyler in my living room in my small apartment in San Diego. We want to keep growing in every aspect.”
After arriving on the scene in 2014 with 'How We Both Wondrously Perish', BEING AS AN OCEAN’s unique blend of post-hardcore punch and ambient tones has helped them rack up a staggering 85 million streams globally while playing to a rapidly growing community of diehards around the world.
Proxy: An A.N.I.M.O. Story stands as a monumental, year-long labour of love, sculpted and breathed into reality. Its inaugural single's music video lifts the veil on a vast creative world from which the band has pulled its inspiration and artistic guidance, exposing a narrative, not unlike our own; an existence experienced through the human lens of empathy, suffering, loss, longing, regret, reconciliation, sacrifice, joy, and love.

US metal act SILVERTOMB have signed an international record deal with independent German label Long Branch Records/SPV.
Formed in the wake of Type O Negative and Seventh Void, SILVERTOMB is the latest musical endeavor of Kenny Hickey (Type O Negative, Seventh Void), Johnny Kelly (Type O Negative, Danzig) and Hank Hell (Seventh Void, Inhuman). This time teaming up with New York hardcore veteran Joseph James (Agnostic Front, Inhuman) and Aaron Joos (Awaken The Shadow, Empyreon), the band combine the sounds of Pink Floyd and Black Sabbath to create a bone crushing, mind-blowing sonic journey into the underbelly of human emotion.
"We’re happy to announce that SILVERTOMB has signed with SPV/Long Branch Records. Looking forward to a successful partnership!" says Kenny Hickey.
Long Branch Records label manager Manuel Schönfeld adds: "SILVERTOMB is another great addition to our growing roster. We're super excited to be working with Kenny and the band on the release of their debut album."
SILVERTOMB's new single 'Love You Without No Lies' will be released on 23rd August 2019.
Today (14th August 2019) UK rock duo MYOK release their single 'Kiss', the third taken from their Dagger EP. The final track on the EP, which was released in May 2019, 'Kiss' showcases the band's diverse songwriting abilities, slowing down the pace and taking an anthemic route away from their often frenetic sound.
Check out the video for 'Kiss' here: https://youtu.be/NcCEJefYMhY
Stream/purchase 'Kiss' here: https://awal.ffm.to/kiss
MYOK comment on the meaning behind the song:
"The concept for 'Kiss' came from a friend who can get absolutely messed up and go to bed at 3-4am and be up at 6am bright as a button. We're like, how can you do that?! He answered: "dear boy, sleep is the sister of death." So 'Kiss' is about taking our daily mini death."
Citing influence from a wide range of bands including Jimmy Eat World, Biffy Clyro, Led Zeppelin, Muse and Black Peaks, the rising two-piece are shaping their own brand of alt-rock, with BBC Radio 1 presenter Daniel P. Carter describing them as "like Biffy at their proggy best" in his Kerrang! Magazine column.
2019 has been a busy year for MYOK, who have been honing their thunderous live set and independently writing, producing and recording their Dagger EP, which has turned the heads of Daniel P. Carter, BBC Introducing and more.
In their short career MYOK have also supported Mallory Knox, The Struts, Press To MECO and Allusinlove, and appeared at Y Not Festival, Camden Rocks and Bearded Theory Festival.
See MYOK live at one of the following dates:
29.08.2019 - Derby, The Venue

Modern metalcore quintet ATLAS have released a video for their new single 'Veli' via Long Branch Records. Exploring the relationship between man and nature, 'Veli' takes the listener on a ride through face-melting riffs, mesmerising rhythms and choir-like Finnish ''joiku'' singing.
Check out the video here: https://youtu.be/lwDbun4z-sg

UK grime-metal quintet HACKTIVIST have revealed the video for their brand new single 'Dogs Of War'. The track, out now via UNFD, follows the band's previous single 'Reprogram' which marked their momentous return earlier this year.
Check out the video for 'Dogs Of War' here: https://youtu.be/YWzwEPYIjYM
Stream/purchase 'Dogs Of War' here: https://unfd.lnk.to/DogsOfWar
Not afraid to speak out about world issues, 'Dogs Of War' explores the normalisation of warfare and how it affects us in more ways than we may realise.
"This theme is very important to us especially as we are in an age of seemingly perpetual warfare," the band comment. "Everyone is affected by these continuous wars in some way, even on subtle levels through taxes, fuel prices and economics.
"We wanted to address the fact that war has now become a normalised part of everyday life and how it's increasingly clear that it's being conducted in the name of control and profit. The other factor is that, as much as we're all dogs of war being dragged into one international campaign after another, it's the armed forces on all sides who are being used and exploited to an even higher degree."
'Dogs Of War' was also inspired by anti-war material that co-vocalist J Hurley had been researching during the writing and recording of the song, which included a series of talks by Mark Passioand George Orwell's themes of "double think" and "news speak".
"The concepts all joined together very easily and we hope it's going to start changing the way that this 'War on Terror' is seen by people," he adds. "It's been non-stop since 2001, the war is older than some of the soldiers involved in it! Why does everything keep going on like business as usual while our governments are moving from conflict to new conflict, with seemingly no end? The romanticised view of going solemnly to fight a war in the name of duty and freedom is far from the reality of what is going on here."
A band that have played on Reading & Leeds and Download Festival main stages and toured alongside Korn and Enter Shikari, HACKTIVIST are fired up with a reignited passion as they prepare to record their new album - ready to show the world what they are truly made of.
The quintet recently supported Gojira in Amsterdam and appeared at Submit Fest and Taman Festival, and have additional European live dates set for later this year - more details to be announced soon.
In a world where nobody knows the entire truth about why we’re here, who built the pyramids and what they were for, why we have such a destructive nature towards our planet and ourselves…A world where the only thing we know for sure is that we are living in a well-constructed downward spiral and the technologies that were supposed to make things better are of course making us worse. In a world where any attempt to find the truth or talk about these systematic anomalies got labelled as a “conspiracy theory” – finally the conspiracies are stepping out of the darkness and theories are being proven daily. As Science Fiction is becoming more and more factual and it’s getting very clear that we are on the brink of a revolution of sorts, HACKTIVIST are here to paint a silver lining around our clouded society. With not only a musical revolution of their own, continually blending genres in a way like no others, H also represents a voice that isn’t afraid of saying what needs to be said. They are already living in the future, you have the choice to either be shaped by it or to stand up with them and help shape it together. They're HACKTIVIST, they’re H, are you?
