A combination of post-metal, screamo, sludgy shoegaze and black metal, EARTH MOVES boast an abundance of musical influences, including DeftonesAmenraSlowdive, and Wolves in the Throne Room. It's fair to say that EARTH MOVES are a band with a mountain of experience and interest to draw on - and have received praise from Metal Hammer, Kerrang!, Distorted Sound, and more.

CABAL stream new single ft. Matt Heafy (Trivium) and announce new album
9c5a7ee9-a705-4372-a66c-036f3e7b972d.jpg

Danish heavyweights CABAL will release their second album, Drag Me Down, on 3rd April on Long Branch Records.

Pre-order: https://cabal.lnk.to/DragMeDown

To celebrate the news, the band have streamed their new single 'Bitter Friend' featuring Matt Heafy of metal legends Trivium.

Watch the video for 'Bitter Friend' here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ywoTUIOC2qE

Matt Heafy says about his feature:

"CABAL is one of the most frighteningly heavy bands I've ever had the privilege of being a fan of. Unstoppably powerful on album and live. It's an honor to be asked to guest on a song with them.
You all need their records."

CABAL about the song:

“'Bitter Friend' is a deep dive into the internal conflict between yourself and the side of yourself that you’d rather die than let take over and how if feels when you’re losing that fight. It’s a song on which we’ve experimented a bit with our sound while still staying true to what CABAL have always been about and last but not least it also has none other than the absolute legend Matt Heafy from Trivium doing an awesome feature on it."

Drag Me Down will also contain guest vocals of Jamie Hails (Polaris) and Kim Song Sternkopf (Møl) and will be available as exclusive bundles, LP, CD and digital. Beyond this, the band's acclaimed debut album Mark Of Rot will be released on vinyl for the first time on 3rd April.

CABAL will be touring the USA for the first time with IngestedThe Last Ten Seconds Of Life and others, on the DECADE OF HUMAN SUFFERING III Tour.

CABAL are one of the most brutal and promising heavy acts hailing from Denmark, creating a visceral and doom-laden atmosphere throughout both their music and visual expression. The production is crystal clear, whilst the songs draw inspiration from black and death metal to djent, hardcore and more.

Since the release of their debut LP Mark Of Rot (2018) the band have made a name for themselves in both Denmark and the rest of the world by playing renowned festivals like Copenhell, Roskilde Festival, Euroblast Festival and Complexity Fest as well as touring Europe, Japan and North America.

CABAL are now ready with their second full-length: Drag Me Down is a dark descent into a personal hell brought to life by crushing instrumentals, an oppressive atmosphere and dark personal lyrics delivered with a relentless intensity, while still leaving room for experimentation and expansion of CABAL’s signature sound.

Add to this guest appearances from metal titans Trivium’s Matt Heafy, rising metalcore stars Polaris’ Jamie Hails and Denmark’s Blackgaze darlings Møl’s Kim Song Sternkopf and there is no doubt that this a release worth keeping your eyes and ears peeled for.

KAOTEON stream new single 'Broken'
unnamed - 2020-01-17T140756.266.jpg

Lebanese blackened death metallers KAOTEON are streaming new single 'Broken', taken from their new self-titled album released today, 17th January.

Check out 'Broken' here: https://youtu.be/nVQ-N4wRrJ8

Kaoteon s available to stream and download here: https://kaoteon.bandcamp.com/

Having both fully relocated to the Netherlands, guitarist Anthony Kaoteon and vocalist Walid WolfLust teamed up with bassist Linus Klausenitzer of Obscura and drummer Adrian Erlandsson of At The Gates for the next chapter of KAOTEON.

Kaoteon is the band's heaviest, darkest and most esoteric work to date, and with the world on the brink of societal collapse, there has never been a better time for such a bleak record. With their unique Middle Eastern perspective, it is all the more harrowing.

On the new record Anthony Kaoteon took a different approach to writing. He explains: “On previous albums, every KAOTEON track had over 10 main riffs that could be extended into a song each. With the self-titled upcoming album, the riffs have an identity of their own. Every riff on this album was composed during a state of flow and there are no fillers. I just didn't want to compose riffs that fit between other riffs. I recorded whole tracks as they came to my mind after several hours of meditation.”

The state of the world today and the band’s relocation to the Netherlands have played a big part in inspiring the themes on the album. The band comment: “The themes are about borders, physical, political and mental. They are about pushing forward against all weights, about looking for home, guided by a beacon in the dark, keeping one eye on your destination and another at the shadows of the mind as well as the shadows of power creeping over our world. These themes evolved from fresh out of the Middle East and rediscovering the notion of home and in the hope of settling someday.”

The new self-titled album is the first release since KAOTEON‘s award-winning album Damnatio Memoriae, which received wide critical acclaim, earned the band a Metal Hammer Golden God award, and put them on the global metal map. 2020 will see the band build upon their success and lead the charge for Middle Eastern extreme metal.

SVENGALI announce album details and stream new single
Svengali 2020-1 small.jpg

Dubai-based multinational metal band SVENGALI have announced their stunning new album Sayonara, set for release on 20th March 2020.

To celebrate the announcement, they have released new single 'Freight Train'. A crushing barrage of riffs with a powerful chorus, check it out here: https://youtu.be/qT4xRbvR330

Featuring members from Iraq, Iran, Lebanon and India, the quartet bring together diverse and unique influences – both in music and in life – to create one of the most ferocious and emotively entrancing metal albums of 2020.

The band comment: "This album is a representation of the last five years of our lives - which spans from being homeless and living in a car in one of the most expensive cities in the world, to building our own studio and recording the album independently.
The first single 'Freight Train' talks about just that. Pushing forward, regardless of the struggle and coming out on top with those who stuck around."

With one EP and one full-length under their belts, and having played countless shows in the Middle East, SVENGALI have grown into one of the hottest prospects from the region. Their debut album ‘Theory Of Mind’ reached number #2 in the UAE Virgin Megastore Charts and they are the only metal band who have been nominated in the huge Dubaian Ahlan Awards ‘Best Live Act’ category. Shows with the likes Sepultura, Jinjer, Kreator, Arch Enemy and Septic Flesh across Turkey, Greece, Lebanon, UAE and Dubai have proven that they can compete with the best in the business, and they’re now ready to take their sound to the global stage with new album Sayonara.

Featuring nine tracks of crushing riffs and headbanging grooves, Sayonara wastes no time in pummelling the listener, but it’s also not short on dynamism and melody. From the instant violence of opener ‘Alcatraz’ through to the heartfelt ‘Labyrinth’, SVENGALI’s wide range of influences are clearly apparent, but come together in a unified sound that is distinctly their own.

Inspired by a story of control with a sinister intent, their name SVENGALI is an indication of their lyrical topics of interest and they go deep on Sayonara. Exploring the state of mind during an addiction relapse, uniting and fighting against oppression, losing identity, overcoming obstacles and more, SVENGALI’s thoughts have huge relevance in today’s world, and their multinational Middle Eastern take makes it all the more fascinating.

Recorded and produced in-house, Sayonara paints a stark picture of SVENGALI’s journey and a band and individuals up until now, and promises to pave their way to becoming one of the most important global metal bands in 2020.

German hardcore quintet GIVER release new single Every Age Has Its Dragons (Like An Empire)
GiverShooting2_21_creditMarie_Laforgeresize.jpg

German hardcore quintet GIVER have streamed their new single 'Every Age Has Its Dragons (Like An Empire)', taken from their forthcoming second LP Sculpture Of Violence, to be released 7th February on Holy Roar Records.

Stream 'Every Age Has Its Dragons (Like An Empire)' here: http://bit.ly/GEAHIDLAE

Watch the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6NA_DhUaAjc

The band comment: "Our way of life is based on taking advantage of nature and manpower worldwide without having to pay for it. Where conquerors used to send their armies, there are now free trade agreements and complex value chains that keep the global south down while the north profits. The northern consumption norms can only be maintained through ecological destruction, violence and human suffering and in the face of the impending climate catastrophe deadly - especially for the economically weakest. Such a life is imperial and opposes all morals. However, you do not fundamentally change it in the supermarket but through protest and structural change."

Such a rampantly political and anti-consumerist song and image is typical of GIVER, a band whose forthcoming LP rails against exploitative labour, the dissonance of religious discord and ill-conceived concepts of masculinity in the current climate to catastrophic effect. The ten songs on offer, whilst bleak, maintain a youthful vibrancy that truly aims to deliver change on a personal and much broader level.

GIVER's Sculpture Of Violence leans into fresh and melodious territory, reminiscent of early 00's hardcore birthed with the likes of Bridge Nine Records and Deathwish Inc., including BlacklistedHave Heart and Modern Life Is War.

The German band have expanded upon their foundation of caustic and high tempo metal-tinged hardcore which won them acclaim with debut full-length Where The Cycle Breaks (January 2018). With new record, Sculpture Of Violence, GIVER demonstrate a dogged urgency and a self-assured versatility, a worthy addition to the modern international hardcore scene's bent of great melodic albums.

In the band's own words: "The central question behind Sculpture Of Violence really is whether there can ever be peace. Since men started settling during the neolithic revolution 10,000 years ago, the amount of years of recorded peace is disturbingly negligible. The record explores different ways and structures in which we form each other through the collective We that is society, which is us and not anybody else and which brings us up against one another and constantly focus on our differences... With the climate catastrophe approaching, the far right growing stronger everyday and the market economy reaching into even the furthest corners of our lives, the time to remain silent is simply over."

The Language of Injury received support from Pitchfork, BBC R1, Metal Hammer, Kerrang!, Revolver, Decibel magazines and more, fast becoming the most exciting new band in UK heavy music in 2019.

Champions of diversity, equal representation, anti-fascism and anti-sexism, ITHACA are providing a vital new voice in hardcore, a voice heard globally following The Language of Injury's release, which decimated their sold-out album release show at London's The Old Blue Last.

Order The Language of Injurysmarturl.it/ITHACA

Formed out of a mutual love of metallic hardcore but despair at its lack of ambition, ITHACA draw influence from everything from Southern doom to 90's math rock, as well as the untethered savagery of early Poison The Well and melodious battery of Oathbreaker.

The result is crushing grooves and shrieking guitar squalls that give way to haunting melodic passages and desolate reprieves. The debut album is the band's most ambitious and emotionally raw material to date, following from their 2015 Trespassers EP (COF Records/Soaked in Torment).

ITHACA have previously toured with Employed to ServeVenom Prison, and Renounced
