Dutch metalcore quintet ANOTHER NOW have released a video for their new single 'Outflow'. Whilst drawing influence from Northlane, Bad Omens and Crystal Lake, ANOTHER NOW add their own style and flair through their captivating blend of alternative metal and metalcore.
Premiered via Dreambound, watch the video for 'Outflow' here: https://youtu.be/e-2-LsHce4E
Stream 'Outflow' here: https://linktr.ee/anothernow/
Produced and mixed by the band's own Rik Bosmans (bass, vocals, production) and mastered by Christof Kempe (Time, The Valuator, Alazka & Breath Atlantis), 'Outflow' came to light during the first lockdown of the COVID-19 pandemic, when the band members were separated and had to move the process forward through online communication.
The band explain: “The lockdown hasn’t had that much of an impact on our writing process. We’re pretty much used to work independently of each other, with the first ideas and demos for songs usually starting out with everyone recording their parts in the comfort of their own home studios and then sending them around. Finishing the last 20% of the songs is usually where the real challenge begins and when you start getting really critical. Not being able to see each other in real life was definitely the biggest challenge. You really find out how hard it actually is to inspire and motivate each other and to communicate creative ideas through digital means alone.’’
Discussing the lyrical themes of 'Outflow', the band add: ‘’The lyrics describe the psychological struggles of dealing with uncontrollable peaks and lows in which someone can find themselves. A seemingly unending battle in your head, that you’re just wishing to wake up from in reassurance. Through this suffering there’s the search for hope, or at least a stable middle ground.’’
ANOTHER NOW released their debut single, 'Lotus/Echoes', in Spring 2019, closely followed by second single 'Shijima'. The attention they gained from these tracks landed them slots at Jera On Air, Popronde and Submit Fest, as well as a sold-out show supporting Ice Nine Kills at Melkweg in Amsterdam.
The quintet released their triple single 'Distance', which consisted of tracks 'Breach', 'Myriad' and 'Program', earlier this year, showcasing the diversity of their sound and firmly putting their stamp on The Netherlands' metalcore scene.
ANOTHER NOW are:
Stef Rikken - lead vocals
Rik Bosmans - bass, vocals, production
Miquell Kleuters - guitar, backing vocals
Guyon Kleuters - drums
Max van Esch - guitar

Marisa Rodriguez, vocalist and band leader of grunge rockers MARISA AND THE MOTHS, has today launched "Time To Talk", a campaign raising awareness and supporting victims of physical, mental and financial domestic abuse.
Marisa has also announced the release of new video ‘How Did You Get So Weak?’, portraying her personal experiences with the issue, set for release on 1st December 2020. This video will be used to promote a special merch bundle, from which 50% of the proceeds will be donated to DASH (https://thedashcharity.org.uk), a charity with a mission to end domestic abuse and support victims.
"Time To Talk" will feature an interview series, where Marisa talks to fans who have been victims of abuse, sharing their stories on social media via videos, releasing them daily from today up until the release of the video. Her first interview is with DASH about the work they do, and goes live at 6pm today on the band's Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/marisaandthemoths
The DASH merch bundle can be pre-ordered here: https://www.marisaandthemoths.com/merch
The campaign has launched on White Ribbon Day (https://www.whiteribbon.org.uk/day), an internationally recognised day that urges people to stand up, speak out and say no to violence against women. This year is more important than ever with a significant increase in violence, harassment, and abuse during the coronavirus pandemic.
As a survivor, Marisa knows first-hand how damaging an abusive experience can be. She comments: “'How Did You Get So Weak?' is the question that I asked myself at the start of what ended up being an extremely traumatic relationship. I knew that there was something wrong at the time, but because of various reasons I felt too scared to leave. Now I’m on the other side of this situation, I’d really like to use the release of this song to help others.”
Not only did her experience inspire new music, it gave her the idea to set up "Time To Talk". She continues: “I’m running the “Time To Talk” campaign to help raise awareness and understanding for the issue of domestic abuse (which includes mental, physical and financial abuse). There is a lot of negative stigma around discussing the topic, but we seriously need to start talking about it. Due to the isolation effects caused by the pandemic, this year has seen a significant increase in domestic violence, harassment, and abuse during the coronavirus pandemic.
“Abuse can happen to anyone. Men, women, and children. I want to let the victims know that they can get out, they are not alone, and they will be stronger for it in the end. But most importantly, that they are NOT weak, they are a victim and there is help for them out there.
“The “Time To Talk” campaign will involve live interviews with me and various victims of abuse who have come forward to share their stories to raise awareness, with intent to hopefully inspire others in abusive situations to reach out and get the help that they need. These stories will be shared as video interviews, letter readings and phone calls on our social media platforms every day, on the run up to our music video release for our single ‘How Did You Get So Weak?’"
Commenting on the charity, Marisa concludes: “DASH is an incredible charity working to help victims of domestic abuse, including women, men and children of all backgrounds.”

Chicago quartet THE UNTOLD have released a video for their new single 'The Abandoned'. The standalone track comes ahead of the band's self-recorded debut full-length, which is set for release in 2021.
Drawing influence from Dream Theater, Killswitch Engage, Devin Townsend and Gojira, THE UNTOLD blend technical hard rock and metal to deliver blistering riffs and leads, alongside memorable pop choruses with cinematic enormity and grandeur.
Watch the video for 'The Abandoned' here: https://youtu.be/2eEzd2EzH7M
Stream/purchase 'The Abandoned' here: https://linktr.ee/theuntoldband
THE UNTOLD was formed in Chicago, Illinois in 2017 by vocalist/guitarist Luke Dupuis and drummer Alex Kennedy. The duo met in college and were a perfect fit, which led to the release of their first single 'The Lowly Beggar Man' later that year. In 2018, guitarist Cole Dillow and bassist Rob Runnels joined the group just in time to hit the studio to record the band’s first EP, Stories of Life and Death.
THE UNTOLD began to play regularly in Chicago and the surrounding areas. They took this time to focus on developing their energetic and immersive live show, whilst honing their sound and style for their coming releases. This culminated in an extremely successful headline show at the famed Reggie’s Rock Club in Chicago at the beginning of 2020. The four-piece then shifted their focus to writing for the remainder of the year.
Time and development brought a surge of creativity and collaboration, the outcome their latest single 'The Abandoned'. A natural progression of their sound, 'The Abandoned' is a far more polished product as THE UNTOLD became more hands-on with their production and more precise in their execution. The band knew this track deserved a thrilling and fascinating visual to match. They began production of their first official music video, which carries a riveting narrative and expertly executed cinematography.
The aspiration of THE UNTOLD is to tell stories in their own dramatised way to reflect the uniqueness of humanity, while also giving a voice to those that deserve to be heard. Life is crazy, chaotic, beautiful, sad and full of anger, loneliness, happiness, joy and love. The band strives to convey that entire emotional array through characters that embody the human condition and the world that surrounds it.
Onto their next phase with 'The Abandoned', THE UNTOLD's upcoming debut full-length is set to enthral and capture the mind of those who have a taste for dramatic and powerful music.

Crushing down-tempo, slam-infused deathcore masters DISTANT have released a menacing video for 'Dawn Of Corruption', the title-track from their new EP out now via Unique Leader.
Featuring guest vocals from Jason Evans of Ingested, watch the video to 'Dawn Of Corruption' here: https://youtu.be/NQu1nxUacA0
Hailing from Rotterdam, The Netherlands and Bratislava, Slovakia, DISTANT have produced some of their most brutal work with the announcement of their second release for Unique Leader, featuring guest appearances from members of INGESTED and ABORTED.
Dawn of Corruption, the follow up to last summer's Tyrannotophia, is a dark descent into the depths of the kingdom of Tyrannotophia - the realm of the doomed and the sound of the world's damnation. The kingdom is on the brink of falling and a new era is about to begin. Escaping from the darkness, all of the wretched creatures are on a hunt for its crown.
Featuring stunning cover artwork by Calean Stokkermans (The Acacia Strain, Lorna Shore, Misery Index), DISTANT perform the dark hymns of the fallen kingdom for listeners to experience the atmospheric despair and the grotesque void to come. Emotional, evil and ruthless songs of the fallen.
Joined by two new members Jan Mato on drums (ex-Shrill Whispers) and Eise Smit (ex-Rising Conflict) DISTANT is now a fully armed six-piece band for this battle and ready to take the crown for themselves. Honourable guests on this release are Jason “Slam King” Evans of INGESTED and Mendel bij de Leij formerly known as guitarist of ABORTED.
Since 2014 the band have bludgeoned their way across Europe, with the release of their first two EPs Slither (2015) and Tsukuyomi (2017). Recently joining forces with Unique Leader to release their debut full-length album Tyrannotophia (June 2019) and making a name for themselves by playing renowned festivals and tours across Europe and UK.

ARCAEON are proud to present their debut full-length release, further staking their claim as a new band to watch within the UK’s promising progressive metalcore scene.
Cascadence is released 12th February 2021 and follows the band’s acclaimed debut EP Balance, released January 2018.
Packing a punch with their find blend of technical metal and progressive metalcore, ARCAEON are a group entirely unafraid to bring all their hooks and riffs to the fore. Elements of Periphery, Intervals’ vocal album A Voice Within, and Architects combine to exhilarating effect.
ARCAEON are already a mainstay of the progressive circuit, having performed at notable events Radar Festival and Tech-Fest, as well as supporting Devil Sold His Soul and The Arusha Accord.
As suggested by their names, tracks six and seven mark the turning point in Cascadence, which is loosely a concept album of colour, from 'Infernum Demergeris' (the Hell at the beginning of Blade Runner – sepia, orange, dark tones) through to 'An Endless Sky' (blue). ‘Zenith I: The Reflection’ is "A mantra for when we think too much about the mistakes we’ve made or what we could’ve been if we had lived differently. We cannot change history, only learn from it"; ‘Zenith II: Arcadia’ is a depiction of Utopia, "about elevating ourselves beyond our social, racial, political and other differences into a new collective togetherness".
The colour change is reflected in the band’s artwork and portraits – fully bringing together all aspects of this highly intriguing multidimensional project.

"With the release of 'Shadows' we're branching out into new and unexplored territory for FSTS, as we look inward and reflect upon ourselves - no longer looking out into the world for inspiration," says guitarist Steven Jones.
Steven adds: "'Shadows' is the most 'straight to the point' we've ever been, both musically and lyrically, as we explore our own battles with mental health. The original inspiration for the song was our bassist's struggle with PTSD, though during the writing process it became apparent that we all relate to the song in our own individual ways, and that the words contained cover a much broader spectrum.
It's important to us that our music is an honest representation of who we are as people - and 'Shadows' marks the first step further into the minds of our members.
2020 has been a year to remember, or forget for some, where tackling mental health is at the forefront of society, and we take pride in sharing with complete transparency our own, very personal, take on the matter.
It's important to speak your mind about your thoughts and understand yourself as best you can. If you or anyone you know is suffering from depression and/or suicidal thoughts - please reach out to someone. There are links below to people who can help you:

MAXI CURNOW comments:
"'Chased By Wolves' is about dealing with mental health by opening up, reaching out and getting through life's challenges together. It's about how we learn to recover and become stronger from hardship, in a cycle of transformation and compassion.
"My alter ego/character ‘Kiln' represents a primal force that reminds me of a human nature that’s being forgotten in this age of technological advancement and convenience. In 'Chased By Wolves', he represents a future self in times of hardship, who helps to guide the protagonist through recovery. Over time they merge and the cycle repeats, representing how we must reinvent and learn to become compassionate towards ourselves over and over again in life.
"Now more than ever, we need to check in on our mates, and feel able reach out for support if we need it. I know that for me, music and the kindness of friends and strangers helped me through the toughest of times. I hope this music video can encourage people to look out for one another, and seek help if they need it."
Crafted with the help of producer George Lever (Loathe, Sleep Token), his new material delivers a consistent string of melodic earworms, nailgun riffs, and impassioned vocals that beckon the listener into a state of total immersion.
MAXI CURNOW has previously composed music that is published by the BBC and Universal Production Music, and his work has been used across a wealth of shows, channels, and services, including Louis Theroux, Sky Sports, Jay Z V Kanye, Netflix and Channel 4. He's also collaborated with a wide range of prolific musicians and producers on his music, from Rabea Massaad (Toska, Dorje), Forrester Savell (Karnivool, SikTh, Animals As Leaders, Twelve Foot Ninja) to Mike Malyan (Monuments, Disperse, The Algorithm), Dave Hollingworth (Toska, Dorje) Toby Peterson-Stewart (The Omnific), Doug Harper (Rick Astley, Gary Barlow, Book of Mormon), Acle Kahney (TesseracT), Luke Martin (Plini) and many more.
With a long list of first-hand experiences alongside so many musical greats, MAXI CURNOW's diverse background inspired him to embark on a raw and visceral dive into storytelling, focused on the process of recovery from traumatic events. Each honest, heavy, and heartfelt song draws upon his most formative experiences – including his work as a firefighter and the events he witnessed in the line of duty. MAXI CURNOW's compositional, technical, emotional, and in-studio skills have combined to create an all-encompassing experience, a synergy between intelligent messages, precisely chosen tones, and impactful visuals.

Australian metal trio GROWTH have released their video for new single 'Soul Rot', taken from their stunning debut LP, The Smothering Arms of Mercy, which will be released 4th December via Australia’s progressive music specialists Wild Thing Records.

Front man Luke Frizon explains; “Despair will reach a point where you no longer identify with any positive solution. Ideals of safety and opportunity feel beyond alien, they’re mocking you as they dance out of grasp. It feels like closure only exists in the space where life doesn’t. Images of a hopeless end, once flickering and nightmarish, coalesce and call invitingly to your mind’s eye.
Our character in this story has heard such a call and is falling in love with the promise of release it brings. The sense of control over their fate is back, horribly within reach. Paralysed with fear, trapped, embittered and alone, they look fondly towards the end even as it stretches hungrily towards them..."
Luke says of the video: “'Soul Rot' is such a pivotal point in the album, sound and theme-wise, that we really wanted you to see how this can appear and feel. The video almost wasn’t made due to the heavier lockdowns in Victoria we were under.
Enter Adrian Goleby to save the day. We tasked Adrian with this video up in Brisbane, and he and his team smashed it! Psychosis, Mark Rothko colour schemes, Kubrick, kabuki theatre (look at the eyes); we jammed a chaotic mix of influences in there. There are also several hidden references to the' Cigarette Burns' video. Ed did a fantastic job as our lead man too. While I’m sad he didn’t drink the motor oil I recommended, the waterboarding more than made up for it. Seeing that last sentence typed out on the screen gets me thinking that people should really stop asking for my artistic recommendations."
GROWTH will release a trilogy of albums that explore the very human aspects of connection, trauma, despair, and the fragility of hope.
Even the strongest pillar caves. Even the iron heart shatters. GROWTH's debut release, The Smothering Arms of Mercy, is the first in their narrative trilogy that details in honesty the extremity of recovery from mental illness. Mercy delivers a ferocious depiction of suffering, designed to draw the listener in with the Barnes brothers' paralysing and traumatic vision, suffocating and vulnerable all at once.
Self-recorded, produced and engineered in Australia, with drums engineered by Troy McCosker (Ne Obliviscaris),and mixed & mastered by Fredrik Nordstrom (Opeth) in Gothenburg, Sweden, the landscape presented in Mercy is nightmarish-dense with jarring time signatures, grinding abrasiveness, and wistful post-metal passages, and led by the visceral howling of vocalist Luke Frizon detailing a vivid story of hope and loss drawn directly from lived experience.
GROWTH began as a reflective space for brothers Tristan (guitars/bass) and Nelson Barnes (drums) who were united after returning to Australia after a decade apart pursuing music overseas. Tristan returned to come to terms with his personal demons and after receiving a mental health diagnosis that hit with closure and terror all at once, he became a recluse. Isolated and debilitated, he expressed his pain through writing. Meanwhile, vocalist Luke Frizon (ex Jack The Stripper) had withdrawn from life to enter a period of recovery after reaching rock bottom, seeking to reconnect with himself and make meaning of hopelessness, trauma and loss.
A chance meeting on a mutual first outing from respective isolation sparked a discussion about the empathetic aspects of music and quickly led to a partnership and GROWTH were formed.
The result is The Smothering Arms Of Mercy, a claustrophobic narrative of total spiritual collapse written while in psychiatric care and thrown over nine suffocating acts.
Luke Frizon delves deep in to 'Something Follows'' meaning:
"There's a crucial moment in this album I wanted to get across here. Our figure in this has realised they are losing in a pursuit they don't understand-some force seeks to devour them. When in a state of despair, we find ourselves snared by the ideas it brings forward-punitive, brutal, painful. Quietly enraged by that pain, awash in the injustice of it all-the most awful outcome is when we fuse that rage with that suffering. The force lurking around the corner in this case is the end. Now, that's not where you want to be. Something Follows shows us what our figure will be faced with when forced to reach that decision either to collapse, or make one last push to break through."
The Smothering Arms of Mercy will be released on 4th December via Wild Thing Records
