Lebanese-UAE progressive metal frontrunners ANURYZM return with their long-awaited new single and stunning animated video 'Ruby Demon'.

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/y4oaFRPxlvI

The band comment: “2020 has certainly brought its host of demons. But we wanted to end the year by marking our return with a song that would resonate with everyone. 'Ruby Demon' is a labour of love which took months of composition, arrangement, scripting, and designing; and we could not have accomplished this feat without the wonderfully talented people that we call family. We truly hope that you are left in jaw-dropping amazement.”

Formed in 2003, ANURYZM are one of the prominent forces in middle-eastern rock and metal, and the leading progressive metal band. Having gone through various line-up changes, dealt with the tragic death of a founding guitarist and spent time honing their sound, by the 2010s they were a true musical force to be reckoned with.

Following the release of debut album Worm’s Eye View (2011), the band earned supports with many prominent acts such as Avenged Sevenfold, Yngwie Malmsteen, Scorpions, Nightwish, Epica, Dark Tranquillity, Myrath, Orphaned Land as well as Black Sabbath at the iconic Du Arena, in Abu Dhabi.

In 2014 ANURYZM hit the studio to write their next album and sought help from guest musicians Michael Lepond (Symphony X), Uri Dijk, Charlie Zeleny, and composer Christopher Chaplin. 2015 saw the release of second album All Is Not for All via Melodic Revolution Records and in 2016 embarked on their ‘Awakening the Humanoids’ European tour, playing cities in Germany, Holland, and Belgium. 2019 saw the band appear at festivals in Lebanon and Romania, as well as a unique showcase event with Sceptic Flesh in Dubai.

After relocating to Canada in 2018 the band set out write new material for their next album, with new members Simen Sandnes on drums, and Rami Lakkis bass. 2019 saw the departure of long-time vocalist Nadeem Bibby and the introduction of new vocalist Will Patterson.

The long anticipated follow up to All Is Not for All is planned for 2021, more news soon.

DUB TRIO share new single featuring BENJI WEBBE of Skindred

DUB TRIO share a new single via New Damage Records titled 'Them Thing Deh Dub' featuring BENJI WEBBE of Skindred on vocals.

Listen on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/o5GB9JFl5I8
Stream here: https://fanlink.to/DubTrio

'Them Thing Deh Dub' is a cover of 'Them Thing Deh' by legendary reggae artist Ini Zamoze.

"We're putting this song out for the love of it. We knew we wanted to do a track that paid homage to our forefathers of reggae and dub, rhythm section greatness, Sly and Robbie. They have been an endless source of inspiration to us as a band from the beginning,” shares DUB TRIO’s Stu Brooks. “So, as helicopters swarmed over Hollywood during BLM protests, my wife and I felt compelled to finally break quarantine. As we approached Hollywood and Vine to join in solidarity with the protesters, ‘Them Thing Deh’ happened to be the soundtrack in my headphones. The lyric “got to keep your cool” really spoke to me as I could feel the tension in the air. That week, we quickly put the rhythm tracks together, recording from three different states, with the help of Roger Rivas on organ and keys and hit up our old friend, legend Benji Webbe. Benji is the ultimate genre-masher, soulfully clashing metal, reggae, punk, dub, dancehall... all the sh*t we love!”

Among the band members' many production and recording projects, Stu Brooks had the honour to track the bass for Danny Elfman's first solo single in 36 years, 'Happy'. It is available now and can be found here: https://dannyelfman.ffm.to/happy

DUB TRIO released their 5th full-length album The Shape of Dub to Come on New Damage Records in 2019, with praise from Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Consequence of Sound, Revolver, Noisey, Brooklyn Vegan, New Noise Magazine, Submerge Magazine, and more. An homage to titles such as Refused’s The Shape of Punk to Come and Ornette Coleman’s The Shape of Jazz to Come, The Shape of Dub to Come’s groove hinges on slower stoner-inspired sludge riffing. The release was followed by touring across the United States and Europe, including direct support on the Incubus tour. The acclaimed LP was announced with 'World of Inconvenience [feat. King Buzzo]' at Rolling Stone, who called it, “Heavy, trippy… a crafty, atmospheric hybrid." 'Fought The Line [feat. Troy Sanders]' followed via Consequence of Sound, "The creepy, script-flipping video speaks to the song’s heavy lyrical theme." With 'Forget My Name Dub [feat. Meshell Ndegeocello]', they usher dub into new territory like only they can.

Over nearly two decades together, Brooklyn’s DUB TRIO - Stu Brooks [bass], DP Holmes [guitar], and Joe Tomino [drums] - not only delivered a string of albums that forever redefined the term “dub” under cover of metal, punk, alternative, and shoegaze, but also infused its musical prowess into the studio recordings and the shows of genre-bending icons ranging from Mike Patton to Lady Gaga.

DUB TRIO introduced themselves on 2004’s “live-dub experiment” Exploring the Dangers Of followed by successors New Heavy (2006), Another Sound Is Dying (2008), and IV (2011). For nearly two decades, the band have conjured up instrumental music hummable enough to sing, summoning praise from the likes of Pitchfork who predicted “Dub Trio are on to something.” The Brooklyn-based triumvirate served as Matisyahu and Peeping Tom’s live band and toured alongside heavy hitters Clutch, Gogol Bordello and Dillinger Escape Plan. All three members are seasoned session players, having recorded with a plethora of hip-hop artists across the board, including 50 Cent, Wiz Khalifa, The Fugees, Tupac, G-Unit, and Mobb Deep.

"Digesting the tunes of Dub Trio is not unlike sampling every item at a potluck and being intrigued with every flavor, not knowing which route to double back to, but being satisfied with every bite." - Submerge Magazine

“A journey down the psychedelic-sludge rabbit hole takes a dark turn into the anxious and gloomy… a truly harrowing and intriguing ride.” - Revolver

"Dub-metal at its finest. One part Faith No More, one part King Crimson." - New Noise

SIAMESE share new single / video 'Can't Force The Love'
shot.jpg

Denmark's current hottest export SIAMESE have just dropped a video for new single 'Can't Force The Love'. The award-winning post-hardcore outfit blend heavy riffs with soaring melodic vocals in this hook-filled track.

Check out the video here: https://youtu.be/qb1nwhkGNWU
Listen to 'Can't Force The Love' here: https://siamesedk.lnk.to/cantforcethelove

'Can't Force The Love' is the follow up to 'Home' ft Drew York (Stray From The Path) which received an incredible response and amassed over 700,000 streams in eight weeks. Feedback for the track was extremely positive and placed the band firmly on the map, with support from the likes of Rock Sound, Radio 1, Kerrang! Radio and top placements on Spotify's influential 'Kickass Metal' and 'New Core' playlists.

The video for 'Can't Force The Love' is number two of three the band filmed in an abandoned military base in Denmark, that was actually the set for Netflix series 'The Rain'.

"We found it to be very 2020 apocalyptic, but also had to be creative and smart in trying to make an idea work during lockdowns, restrictions etc." explains frontman Mirza Radonjica. "Lyrically the song is dedicated to a person I had to let go last year. Not to diss her, or to point fingers, but to explain what an impossible idiot I am, and why she's better off without me to be honest."

SIAMESE have moved their UK tour to July and August, see below for new dates.

Line-Up:
Mirza Radonjica - Vocals
Andreas Kruger - Guitar
Christian Lauritzen - Guitar, Violin
Marc Nommesen - Bass

Stars of LFDR video game, UK rockers HOLLOW CROWN unveil new video

The band comment on the video:
"Mother Mary Magdolin enchants a pagan deep in the forest! Delivering a fatal dose of punishing ecstasy. The music video is based around the death of Paganism to Christianity using Mother Mary Magdolin’s image to charge the pagan's sexual centre with a fatal dose of nirvana".

Routed in anti-establishment punk and heavy thrash brutality, HOLLOW CROWN deliver punishing riffs, hard-hitting drum patterns, pumping bass and savagely open lyrics.

The Bristol quartet rose to prominence online with their highly unique and clever approach to engagement; their own video game LFDR. First launched in 2018 and rebooted earlier this year, LFDR is fast-paced shooter available on the Google and Apple stores, which boasts over 2500 regular players and rave reviews on The Metro and more. HOLLOW CROWN released their debut EP Seventh Gate via the game, which is currently the only place it can be heard.

The excitement around LFDR and HOLLOW CROWN prompted them to book two home town shows in 2019 - Louisiana The Fleece in Bristol - both of which sold out.

With a proven real-world fanbase, the band felt it was time to unleash their sound via new single ‘Biblical' on the wider world, releasing via conventional platforms.

In a new age where creative and intelligent marketing efforts are not just an advantage but essential to cut through the noise, HOLLOW CROWN promise to be a band that will be hard to miss in 2021.

HOLLOW CROWN will release a brand new record in 2021, more news soon.

DEEDS OF FLESH stream album ahead of release
Deeds-2020-Crop-web.jpg

Technical death metal pioneers DEEDS OF FLESH are streaming new album, Nucleus, ahead of its release this Friday 11th December via Unique Leader.

Their ninth studio album features guest performances from Cannibal Corpse, Dying Fetus, Gorguts and more, paying tribute to the band's late guitarist and founder, Erik Lindmark.

Premiered via Decibel, listen to Nucleus here: https://youtu.be/0INiloN3Erw

Returning after a seven year hiatus with their ninth studio album, Nucleus is set for release via Unique Leader Records on 11th December 2020 (Vinyl release 15th January 2021).

Marking the first DEEDS OF FLESH album release since the tragic passing of guitarist / vocalist and Unique Leader founder Erik Lindmark, who lost a battle with cirrhosis (aka sclerosis) in 2018, Nucleus features guest performances some of the biggest names in extreme metal to celebrate his life and contribution to metal. Vocalist Jacoby Kingston is joined by:

Luc Lemay (Gorguts)
John Gallagher (Dying Fetus)
George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher (Cannibal Corpse)
Frank Mullen (Suffocation)
Matti Way (Submerged, ex Disgorge)
Bill Robinson (Decrepit Birth)
Dusty Boisjolie (Severed Savior, Illuminegra)
Anthony Trapani (Odious Mortem, Severed Savior)
Obie Flett (Pathology)
Robbe Kok (Disavowed)

Jon Zig (Serpentian).

With a mix of the old and new style of DEEDS OF FLESH writing, this album is the completion of a story that began with Of What's to Come (2008) and ran through Portals to Canaan (2013). The music was written by Erik Lindmark (RIP), Craig Peters, Ivan Munguia and Darren Cesca, and had been recorded and partially mixed for almost four years. When Erik Lindmark passed in 2018, vocalist Jacoby Kingston came out of retirement to help finish the album. Alongside long-time drummer Mike Hamilton, they finished the story arc, wrote the lyrics and made the vocal arrangements for Nucleus.

The band members comment on Nucleus:

Craig Peters (guitars, arrangements): "After we started the writing process for Nucleus about 7 years ago, I'm very glad that now fans will be able to hear what we've been working on. This album is special to me because I got to work closely with Erik on the material to really craft a cinematic experience for the listener. With the passing of Erik we were all saddened by the news and not sure where things would go with the album and the band. It only seemed right to have Jacoby and Mike come back into the fold to help finish this album. They're such a huge part of the Deeds of flesh legacy that I couldn't see the album completed any other way. Nucleus completes this amazing story that Erik started with Of What's To Come with a fusion of older and newer musical elements of the band with stuff fans have never heard before. Get ready because this album is an intense journey!"

Jacoby Kingston (vocals): "After losing Erik, it didn’t feel right to have anyone else do the vocals on this album, so I knew coming out of retirement only made sense. Mike Hamilton and I made a plan to tackle the story and lyrics as a team and it came out better than I could have hoped for. Writing and performing on this album brought me back to the early days of recording “Gradually Melted” and “Trading Pieces”, when everything was new and exciting. We put 100% into this album and I think it really shows. The dream team of guest vocalists that laid down tracks on this album is ridiculous and humbling at the same time. We are honored to have them, and I think fans will be excited about it once they learn who is on there. The music is freaking crazy, but it’s definitely a Deeds album. We’ve managed to mix some of the old and new together to come out with a hybrid form for a new era."

Ivan Munguia (bass): "We've been sitting on this music for years. We have riffs dating back to the time Portals was released and possibly even further than that. When we tragically lost our band leader and only original member I didn't know if this album would ever be released, or if it should be released, due to the fact that Darren, Craig, and I are not original members of the band and it just wouldn't feel right to bring in a random vocalist to complete the record. Thankfully Mike and Jacoby reached out and stepped in to help with the lyric writing and vocals. As 2/3rds of the classic deeds lineup, Mike and Jacoby coming back to help honor Erik and bring his last compositions to the fans is the only right way to do justice by Erik and Deeds of Flesh's fans. I honestly feel this is a very special album and I think the fans will have something to be excited about once they get to hear this collaboration."

Mike Hamilton (lyrics, vocal arrangements): “The sudden loss of Erik was unexpected and devastating! Deeds of Flesh had a full album written and recorded at the time of his passing . Sadly, this album would not have Erik’s presence as vocalist to finish it. After attending Erik’s Funeral Jacoby and I knew we had to step up to help finish this record! We made that commitment to Erik , Deeds Of Flesh fans , Jamie and UL to get it done. It was a no brainer and obvious choice that JACOBY, being a founding member and 2nd main vocalist, had to come out of retirement to sing on this record! Erik ,Craig ,Ivan and Darren did an amazing job on this record and although I was not able to record drums due to personal and family related reasons I still wanted to be a part of this album. I was super excited to collaborate with Jacoby on storyline ,lyrics and vocal arrangements just as we did in the good ol’ days to help put the finishing touches on this album .We then decided on the concept of a tribute album and thought inviting other DM singers to collaborate vocally would best serve the vibe of this record. It only made sense to ask vocalists that Erik looked up to and had close personal friendships with . The list of amazing and talented vocalists on this album is the Who’s Who of DM . I’m super excited and proud to be a part of this record and continue the legacy of Deeds Of Flesh in honor of Erik! A message to the fans of Deeds of Flesh...Thank you for your years of support and patience…..Time to Awaken and Arise!!!!!!!"

Dutch death metallers KORPSE announce new album Insufferable Violence
Bandpic 1.1.jpg

Extreme death metallers KORPSE have announced their third full-length album Insufferable Violence which will be released on 26th February via the indomitable Unique Leader Records.

Hailing from The Netherlands, the quartet of death metal destruction have also released their devastating first single 'Insufferable Violence'. The track is based on the story of a Dutch soldier in the Yugoslavian wars that was part of the army clean up crew. As the first person to enter a massacred and abandoned village after ethnic cleansing by the Serbs he found upside down crucified pregnant women, of whom the foetuses were cut out and left dangling from their mothers by their umbilical cords.

Stream 'Insufferable Violence' and add to your playlists here: https://youtu.be/72E_OAa70qw and https://spoti.fi/2IzWgpn

Pre-order Insufferable Violence LP here: https://orcd.co/insufferableviolence

By far the most brutal and dark album KORPSE has produced yet, the band deliver ten tracks of jaw dropping death metal carnage. During Insufferable Violence’s thirty-eight minutes of chaotic punishment and depravity the band seem on a mission to turn their listener to dust beneath a perpetual deluge of immensely heavy slam breakdowns, inhuman vocals, grinding speed and aggression. KORPSE once again bring their no-nonsense approach to the slamming death genre with no compromise or false overstatements in what promises to be one of 2021's heaviest releases. The result is a deeply uncomfortable listen.

KORPSE comments: We are very proud to present to you our third album called Insufferable Violence. The title is an obvious metaphor for what to expect from the new tracks; relentless brutal death metal in our signature style of the genre. Obviously, the songs are fast, brutal, aggressive, slow and groovy, but we didn't shy away from trying new things. We've incorporated a lot of death metal's neighbouring genres to spice up the mix, varying from beatdown to black metal, and from goregrind to tech death. We feel this is the absolute best album we are able to deliver at this point in our career and we sincerely hope you will become as excited about it as we are!”

Founded by drummer Marten van Kruijssen in 2013 together with vocalist Sven van Dijk, guitarist Floor van Kuijk and bassist Robin van Rijswijk, KORPSE are widely regarded for their savage and uncompromising live shows. Previous albums including the self-titled Korpse debut (2014) and Unethical (2016) grabbed the immediate attention of fans and press worldwide, allowing the band to tour throughout Europe and the USA playing many summer festivals including Deathfeast, Neurotic Deathfest, Obscene Extreme, Stonehenge, Berlin Deathfest, Nice To Eat You Deathfest, UK Slamfest, Slamming Brutality, Fall in the Brawl, Chicago Domination Fest, New York Deathfest, Heidelberg Deathfest and touring with bands such as Scordatura, and Extermination Dismemberment.

Black metal quintet ANTRE included on Cyberpunk 2077 soundtrack
Press Release Header - Export (1).jpg

The critically acclaimed UK black metal group ANTRE are included in the soundtrack of Cyberpunk 2077, the most keenly-anticipated game in recent memory.

You will be able to hear their track 'The Accursed' in-game, alongside the previously-announced The Armed, Converge, Tomb Mold, and HEALTH. Under the in-game pseudonym Dread Soul, ANTRE crafted their new track, a terrifying showcase of their ferocity and inventiveness - seamlessly matching Cyberpunk 2077’s bleak view of a dystopian future with their own fears and disillusionment.

Following the release of ANTRE’s critically acclaimed debut album Void, Cyberpunk 2077’s developers CD Projekt Red approached the band to create an exclusive track for the game, to appear on the Ritual FM channel.

The band comment: "CDPR told us they'd heard the album and enjoyed the brutality of the track 'Infinite Abyss' (itself referencing the Dark Soul’s video game series). We were really eager to get working on a track that would encapsulate the grimness of the Cyberpunk world, and even more excited as gaming fans to be immortalised in a piece of gaming history."

The band will also be releasing their new EP Dark Spectrum on 15th January via Withered Hand Records.

Antre (pronounced ant-er) is an old English word for a cave or cavern. Appropriate name, considering ANTRE are a band who manifest as a representation of the innermost darkest places within all of us.

Drawing on a wide range of influences, in particular black metal, but also death, thrash and hardcore, ANTRE succeed in creating an atmosphere at once claustrophobic, savage, and intense.

The world is a grim and unrelenting place currently – and ANTRE are here to pay recognition to that state. The band are born from and exist in the situations we all retreat to in moments of despair. ANTRE challenged themselves to write a more personal document of themselves with their Dark Spectrum EP – channeling their inner emotions, the four tracks on offer respectively personalise Fear, Wrath, Salvation and Sanity.

The band have a long-standing DIY background being in many groups from various scenes over the years; they take this ethos into their new EP, and it’s an attitude that saw them reach recognition on their debut LP Void. Prior to this, ANTRE's split 7'' with Underdark was a bestseller on Bandcamp, landing in their top-selling black metal chart when released in early 2018. Praise from Kerrang!, Decibel, and Metal Hammer, among others, saw ANTRE reach new heights as they performed alongside the likes of Winterfylleth, Wode, The Infernal Sea, The Moth Gatherer and more.

A beautifully vicious and suffocating release, Dark Spectrum is another fine addition in the journey of one of the UK’s most promisingly furious bands.

Avant garde vocalist / composer RÏCÏNN unveils stunning new video 'Psamatäe'

Experimental French vocalist / composer RÏCÏNN (Laure Le Prunenec) has unveiled the stunning video to the single 'Psamatäe', taken from her new album Nereïd, out now via Blood Music.

Filmed by Aurélien Laidebeur and Brice Menou, starring the actor Phöën and directed/edited by RÏCÏNN, watch 'Psamatäe' here: https://youtu.be/9tE8_oQpX4Q

RÏCÏNN explains the meaning behind the song: "Psamatheus was seduced by the Aequi, the king of the Myrmidons, who ambushed her on the beach. She tried to escape his grip by transforming into a seal but he refused to let go until she relented, giving birth to a son who was given the name of Phocos, "The Seal".

"'Psamatäe' is a song about desire. The gaze of a beloved one can have an unbearable power. From a mud of frustration, fear, lack of recognition of the true "self", a black, vulnerable creature emerges, for protection, to survive, to escape from a reality of lies, fleeing, so that the other finally sees. This is one of the darkest songs I have ever written.

"The song was arranged by the talented Antony Miranda, with his analogue sounds. It was an incredible experience to see it come to life, springing from old synths!"

RÏCÏNN commented on the video: "The idea for the video came rather naturally as I live by the sea, a natural element which inspires me a lot. The video was shot at night in Dieppe, Normandy, France. I wanted to visualise the story of this creature coming out of the sea, looming in the dark, consumed with desire and frustration, struggling to survive throughout the night. The choice of black and white imagery and steel elements like the bridge enhance the cold, dark, mysterious aspect of this monstrous creature; a creature that lies within us all, lingering in the depth of our souls."

Listen to previous single 'Doris', which features guest vocals from Travis Ryan of Cattle Decapitation, here.

Purchase Nereïd here: http://www.blood-music.com/store

In a world of appearances, RÏCÏNN was born from the desire to remain true to her instrument, the voice.

As a child, she cooked remedies, formulas, and prayers to serve them to the world. An expression of 'The Now'. Fire & water, whales & birds, sounds emanating from the mist, blown by the windy shore, spitting the scrambling wreckage of a damaged arch, vestige from an ancient and forgotten civilisation, flooded into the oversights of time.

RÏCÏNN appears as the lonely survivor of a pre-post apocalyptic universe, a new world in which she bereaves the loss of her unknown culture.

Nereïd is a concoction of many cultures, assimilated and included with her own language. The experience of an incarnation in the material world, falling into the living, as the nymphs of Poseidon move the ocean, making choices, harmonising the rhythms of nature.

Known for her work as female vocalist for breakcore outfit Igorrr, experimental gothic funeral metal band Öxxö Xööx, and experimental trip-hop unit Corpo-Mente; RÏCÏNN's beautiful, solo work lies in the realm of funeral opera - with nearly all composition, instrumentation, and imagery created by the artist herself.

The result is a celestial dance, moving into unexpected explosions of terror, each sacred in their own right.
