Swedish metal quartet ORBIT CULTURE have unveiled new single, 'Mute The Silent', the first new music heard from the band since the release of new album, Nija, which was released summer 2020 via Seek & Strike.

'Mute The Silent' will feature on 'Nija' expanded digital edition, out Friday 15th Jan via all streaming platforms.
In the deep forests of southern Sweden lies the small town of Eksjö where the band ORBIT CULTURE originate. The idea of ORBIT CULTURE came to vocalist / rhythm guitarist Niklas Karlson in 2013 whilst working on bedroom demos; he quickly formed and early version of the band, which included drummer Markus Bladh.
Citing Metallica and Gojira as their main heavy influences, ORBIT CULTURE are band who love to experiment with wide a range of sounds and textures to create something that is fresh but also familiar. Nikas comments: "As much as we love metal, we love other music, too. We love a good hard-hitting song as much as the next guy, but we've always found that blending and mixing genres seems more fun for us at least, rather than deciding on a specific genre to write within the metal scene. It really helps us to be creative and motivated. I'm guessing that is something that we'll always do."
Quickly after forming, ORBIT CULTURE released a self-produced EP and an LP, but it was summer 2016 when two new members joined the band - Richard Hansson on the lead guitar and Fredrik Lennartsson on the bass guitar - and the quartet perfectly honed their distinctive sound.
With the new line-up in place the band set to work on stunning new album Nija and in 2019 caught the attention of the Seek and Strike label, who signed them immediately.
For fans of Trivium, Metallica, Gojira and Architects, ORBIT CULTURE are a band from a small town with big ambitions.

HAIL THE SUN have announced their highly-anticipated fifth full-length album, New Age Filth, set for release on 16th April via Rude Records (UK/EU) Equal Vision (NA). To celebrate the announcement, the band have shared the passionate first single 'Domino', alongside an accompanying video.
Watch the video to 'Domino' here: https://youtu.be/f8XrhjIgswg
New Age Filth marks the band’s most ambitious material to date, recorded over five weeks with producer Kris Crummett. The energy and thought the band put into the release is apparent on 'Domino', astheir technical prowess shines with instruments dancing over one another as vocalist Donovan Melero belts out his signature vocals. Lyrically, the track centres around reflection of self and how past actions can affect others.
On writing 'Domino' Melero stated: “Reflecting is important. What we might discover in reflection can be a hard pill to swallow. I’m only as big as my weakest character flaw. I’m told that I talk a lot in my sleep, and these are the things I think I say.”
When HAIL THE SUN entered the studio to record what would become New Age Filth, they knew they were setting out to make their most collaborative and diverse album yet. The band, consisting of Donovan Melero (vocals/drums), Aric Garcia (guitar), John Stirrat (bass) and Shane Gann (guitar), spent a month living in an apartment attached to producer Kris Crummett’s studio which provided a much different experience from the creation of prior albums. The result is ten songs that find the band pushing their creative boundaries in every way. They’re heavier and poppier at the same time, proving their ability to be extremely technical in instrumentation while also unleashing some of the catchiest hooks they’ve ever created. The influence from genre-melding predecessors like Coheed and Cambria, At The Drive-In, and even Yes is apparent, but the sound is still very much a natural evolution from HAIL THE SUN’s past work.
The shifting musical compositions on New Age Filth perfectly accompany the emotive lyrical outpour found across the album. Continuing along the theme of reflection, Melero weaves through painful and emotional experiences of love, cynicism, and touches on how awful humans can be to one another. Set for release on 16th April, New Age Filth is sure to appease HAIL THE SUN’s powerful fanbase, who have been clamouring for more from the band since the release of 2018’s Mental Knife, and newcomers alike.

Atmospheric rock collective SOM – comprised of current and former members of Constants, Junius, and recent Grammy nominees Caspian – will release their new EP, Awake, on 5th March. The band have also released new single 'Awake // Sedate'.
Premiered via Brooklyn Vegan and Visions, watch the video to 'Awake // Sedate' here: https://youtu.be/RcwyLCipWdc
In an era where a pandemic has forced much of the world into standstill, SOM strive to remain prolific. Following on the acclaim accrued by 2018 debut album The Fall, the quintet originally planned to use 2020 to record their anticipated follow up. However, lockdowns forced the tireless creatives to improvise. “We were slated to enter the studio this spring to track the album,” says guitarist Mike Repasch-Nieves. “We couldn’t do that, so we decided to do some songs entirely remotely.” The result is the luscious new EP, Awake.
Combining two exclusive originals with remixes by beloved collaborators Holy Fawn, Hisself (Johnny Dang of O’Brother), U Dye (Marshall Gallagher of Teenage Wrist), and Giuseppe Capolupo (The Devil Wears Prada), the short collection is a triumph of self-described “heavy dream pop.” Its concise compositions balance the gritty riffs of Deftones with airy, Tame Impala-esque vocal lines, just as primed for rock radio success as they are for shoegaze-loving connoisseurs. “Our past projects were very exploratory,” explains drummer Duncan Rich. “With SOM, it’s a lot more focused. Creating in a pandemic has imposed limits – it’s a test of working within boundaries. How do we make something expansive, yet digestible and impactful?” The tracks are part of SOM’s ongoing mission to “leave this place better than we found it.”
In advance of the EP’s release, SOM has unveiled a striking video accompaniment to opening track, 'Awake // Sedate.' The video was written and directed by Samia Zaidi, a queer Muslim artist and filmmaker based in the East Bay area and Los Angeles. From examining simple meditative moments to complex cross sections within our identities and the worlds we travel through, her work aims to provide a humble and vulnerable perspective that reignites the romance with all that is casual in our daily lives.
Says Repasch-Nieves of the video, “Samia’s a long-time friend, and we’d been looking for a chance to collaborate. Upon hearing the song, she almost immediately came up with this concept for the video. We let her run with it, and couldn’t be happier with the results. It feels like it echoes the emotional journeys of so many over this past year.”
Notes Zaidi, “This song feels like a dream sequence full of raw emotion, the lyrics so anchored within immediate reality. Setting out to create an audio-visual time capsule of this strange year together felt appropriate. Our goal was simple: to create a chromatic tapestry capturing just one of these endless sleepless nights we’ve been experiencing since last spring in a gritty and intimate way. I wanted to intercut our hero’s literal reality with fleeting representations of her subconscious. Color and light would play a huge role in demarcating new corners of the same space but also new corners of the same psyche. The limitations due to the pandemic were a blessing in disguise. Our shoot was beyond stripped down. This simple approach was such a beautiful way to re-experience a medium I’ve always known to be inherently complex. For anybody who's found themselves alone in their homes free from the usual preoccupations; whose one-dimensional spaces turned into multi-verses with wormholes; who's found new ways to experience the same walls, floors, and ceilings, I hope this resonates with you.”
Awake will be available independently as a limited edition cassette release and digitally via Nuclear Blast’s digital subsidiary, Blood Blast Distribution.

More information on SOM:
Duncan Rich co-founded SOM with frontman and former Constants colleague Will Benoit, as well as Adai founder and now-Caspian drummer Justin Forrest. While touring on The Fall in 2019, the band added guitarists Mike Repasch-Nieves and Joel M. Reynolds, both formerly of Junius and Driftoff. “We’ve always been a musical family,” Rich adds.
Repasch-Nieves continues, “Will and I started a label, Radar Recordings, in Boston during the early 2000s, which was an amazing time and place for music. It was very much a collective of like-minded artists, which grew as we all toured around the world together in the years to follow.” The alluring Awake is far from the five longtime friends’ only endeavour to create a better world around them. Despite being recorded in quarantine, the EP was mixed by Benoit at his own Radar Studio in Connecticut – New England’s first solar-powered recording facility. Repasch-Nieves and Reynolds, meanwhile, spent 2020 sustaining an urban farm in New York City, while Forrest distributed vegan food to Black Lives Matter activists in Denver through the Summer. Equally philanthropic is Rich, who now uses his production experience to host emotional fluency events for men. While many musicians lumbered in inactivity, SOM used the darkness of recent times to create and heal. Awake’s bliss is an insight not only into the kind of harmony the quintet seeks to cultivate in all facets of life, but also the exciting second full-length that looms on the horizon.
“SOM play the kind of somber, glimmering music that exudes a heavy fog of emotion and introspection around it.” – Kerrang!
“Perfect for laying in a pile of leaves while quietly pondering everywhere you went wrong in life.” – MetalSucks

BONECARVER, the leading band in the underground brutal death metal / slam scene in Madrid, have signed to Unique Leader and will release their new album Evil on 5th March.
Formerly known as Cannibal Grandpa, the quartet return with their most uncompromisingly brutal record yet, and a new name to represent their reinvention.
Watch the video to 'Revolver', the first single taken from the new album, here: https://youtu.be/aijY6MNotto
On signing with Unique Leader, the band comment: "Signing with Unique Leader Records is an honour for us, since we've been following their work and their roster since the beginning of the band. We are sure that working together, we'll achieve many goals that have been in our minds for so long!"
On the name change, they continue: "We changed the band name from Cannibal Grandpa to BONECARVER as we felt the band had been reinvented. The result was Evil, our most elaborate, mature and powerful album we have ever written."
The name change ties in with the album concept, the band explain: "Evil's album cover represents the death of the Cannibal Grandpa and the birth of BONECARVER. We continue the legacy of Cannibal Grandpa, telling stories about American serial killer Albert Fish, who died in the electric chair. Some of the atrocities he committed are part of the conceptual side of every one of our albums. When Cannibal Grandpa left this world, a darker and more ancient evil woke up to bring balance. Evil that reflects the pain and perdition behind the things we understand and the things we don't. Evil that pursues life and destroys our dreams. Evil living behind a mask. A mask that contains the darkest desires and the most shameful acts of humanity. A cursed object that contains a deity from the deepest abyss. The face of hard look carved in bone."
Formed in 2014, BONECARVER released their first demos on YouTube and started playing live under the name Cannibal Grandpa. In 2015 they released their first album and played with bands as Rise of The Northstar, Here Comes The Kraken and Resurrection Fest, and embarked on their first European tour in 2017 in France, Belgium and The Netherlands. The same year they released their second album Septum Signa Inferno via Slam Worldwide, with Rok from Within Destruction featuring as a guest for a single 'Mandinga'. In 2017 they played more than 50 shows in Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Poland and Czech Republic, Download Festival in Madrid, DeathFeast in Germany and Fall In The Brawl Festival in the UK.
The quartet have always been fascinated by serial killers and their unique combination of innovative extreme metal styles and murder tales quickly took them to the top of the Spanish death metal underground. They represent Madrid’s brutality at its best. They are determined leaders of modern Spanish brutality.
In summer of 2020 they signed a deal with Unique Leader Records and changed their name to BONECARVER. "Sometimes we must destroy standards in order to rebuild. Destroy the ordinary to create extraordinary new start, create a fresh moniker from the ruins."
BONECARVER will appear at Resurrection Festival, Spain, on 4th June 2021, with more dates to be announced.

London trio CHEAP MEAT are back. The band are streaming their new single 'Eddie & Valerie', taken from their debut full-length record People Are The Worst, to be released 29th January via Jerk Store Records.

The group - Ross Drummond (vocals and guitar), Matt Rebeiro (drums) and Peter Hakola (bass and vocals) - formed at a chance meeting at a pub quiz hosted by ex-Coronation Street star Martin Hancock, almost certainly the only band in the world to have this claim to fame.
Cheap Meat had already kicked up a fuss with their hook-filled, guitar-heavy The Parts That Show EP and subsequent single 'Spin-Offs'. Some years on they now return with People Are The Worst, an LP which has been created despite significant setbacks.
The theme of the record is misanthrope; the story, DIY.
People Are The Worst was mostly written during a time of significant sociopolitical unrest – Brexit debates at their peak, Trump being, well, Trump, and culture wars on left and right of increasing hysteria. The band's refrain became the title of the LP.
The specific context and themes of the record are rooted in the day-to-day unpleasantness the band found themselves involved in – which is captured in the album artwork, a series of microaggressions all claustrophobically close together in a high-rise apartment block.
It’s taken a long time for CHEAP MEAT to get their heads around releasing People Are The Worst. In the span between the EP release and now, Matt’s had two kids, Pete was diagnosed with manic depression/bi-polar disorder, and Ross was diagnosed with high-functioning depression and anxiety. Safe to say the group have been through the ringer: emotionally, physically and creatively.
Despite the challenges, People Are The Worst is the record the band wanted to make, on their own terms, and is released on their own label, Jerk Store Records.
Despite too, People being The Worst, some are the best – not least the crew of friends and creative contacts CHEAP MEAT relied on to make their record.
There are plenty of moments of light and love throughout the LP. Musically, as a counterpoint to the bleakest lyrical moments, the album delivers a sonically upbeat palette, delivering poppy hooks and air-guitar-euphoria. Clocking in at only 30 minutes or so, People Are The Worst is here for a good time, not a long time.
CHEAP MEAT have previously received acclaim from Kerrang!, Rock Sound and Upset, and supported Bob Mould, Frank Iero, Tellison, Lonely The Brave, We Are The Ocean, and have performed at 2000 Trees and The Great Escape festivals, among others.

NUCLEAR BLAST has announced the signing of Danish Blackgazers MØL. Adding one of the most-promising extreme metal acts to their roster, the band will release their new album via the label later this year.
Nathan Barley Phillips, European A&R, states: “I am absolutely delighted to welcomeMØLto theNuclear Blastfamily! On a trip to Denmark a couple of years back, I was lucky enough to see the band play live and was instantly taken aback by a band that manages to combine some of the blackest vocals and heaviest riffs with visceral moments of pure melodic beauty. I am over the moon that they have chosen NB as their new home, entrusting us with their previous records and laying plans for new music in the very near future!”
The band adds: "We are excited and humbled to be working withNuclear Blast, after a year of writing the follow up to Jord. We feel that we are in very safe and competent hands, and we can't wait to show our new songs to the world."
Aarhus (DK) based MØL blend swirling guitars and hissing vocals with the dreamy ambience of shoegaze to form a unique composition of soundscapes and crushing passages. Inspired by bands likeMy Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Drop Nineteens, LantlôsandAlcest,MØLreleased their self-titled debut EP back in 2014.
A year later the band perfected their sound with their second EP II, produced by Jacob Bredahl and released in 2015. Both EPs were well received and drove them on to do some emphatic live shows which were praised by press. In 2018, MØL made an international breakthrough signing with Holy Roar Records (UK) who released their debut albumJord to critical acclaim. The record was recorded at Grapehouse Studios and mixed and mastered by Chris Kreutzfeldt. The album was also released as an instrumental version and in 2019, the band re-released their two first EPs, remastered for CD and vinyl. In 2021, MØL will return with their second studio album, their first for Nuclear Blast Records.

Taking lyrical inspiration from personal life experiences and musical influence from a wide variety of alternative genres has allowed TO KILL ACHILLES to create a piece of art which fully encapsulates the band's message: “We only exist when we exist together”. Something To Remember Me By is a heavy and very personal record, and single 'Luna et Altum' concisely expresses its message.
Pre-order Something To Remember Me By here: https://ToKillAchilles.lnk.to/somethingtoremembermeby
The band comment:
“This record is the story of a man who wakes up on his twenty-fifth birthday and the events that happen throughout the course of a year that lead him to take his own life, exactly one year on to the date. Each song represents a month in his life (with the exception of two moments of reflection). In each of the songs we tell a story that a member of the band has been through over the last few years. Every song is real and is a portrayal of how we felt in that moment.
"The message of the record is to highlight that these events can happen, that people can be dealing with things without anyone else being aware. In our lives, we were lucky because we have the support network of our incredible friends and families, but in the case of our character, he does not. The record is a statement which shows that without support, even the strongest of people can be driven to contemplate taking their own lives.
"It’s so important to talk, it’s so important to find the people in life that you can share your lowest moments with, because no one can be expected to go through that alone. Our character deals with alcoholism, a lack of direction or passion in life, the fear of growing older and losing yourself, the isolation felt by following a creative career, the idea that when you die no one will remember you, the onset of anxiety and the shame you feel about trying to tell people you’re not okay. The pressure you put on a partner when you’re not in the right headspace, the fear of showing your emotions as a male incase you’re seen as weak, the fear of death, the moment that suicide enters your mind as an escape and the loss of a parent. A lot of these things will happen in our lifetime and it’s important to know that if they do, there’s people out there who will help you through it.
"Something To Remember Me By is our character's suicide note, explaining why he felt he must walk that path, in a way it’s all of ours too as we all went through these things, we just had the people there to stop it from being our eventuality. The message we try to promote is that these things are normal, these feelings are normal and if you recognise any behaviour we speak of in anyone close to you, then it’s your responsibility to be the first to speak up. A conversation can save a life, don’t let anyone end up the way our character does. In a way this record is also the solution to the problems that we speak about, we poured our emotions into this, and after we’re gone, it’ll still be there, reminding people that we once existed and that we once felt as strongly as we do. It’s just something to leave behind, a memento, a token, or just something to remember me by.”
TO KILL ACHILLES have extensively toured across the UK, the majority of Europe, and Russia with We Came As Romans, Counterparts, While She Sleeps, I Killed The Prom Queen, Betraying The Martyrs and more.

French metalcore stars LANDMVRKS have released a video for their new single 'Paralyzed'. The track is taken from the band's forthcoming album Lost In The Waves, due for release on 26th February 2021 via Arising Empire.
The turbulence of the global COVID-19 pandemic has had a devastating effect on live music. Shows and festivals across the world have faced cancellations or postponements, with much uncertainty as to when they will return. One such festival was Storm The Arena, which was set to take place at the Accor Arena in France on 12th December 2020. LANDMVRKS took to the iconic venue during the pandemic to safely record the video for ‘Paralyzed’, which is dedicated to the musicians and those around the world who remain paralysed during these unprecedented times.

After successfully building their reputation through asserting their own style on 2018 masterpiece Fantasy, LANDMVRKS return with their upcoming third album, Lost In The Waves, their heaviest and most organic album to date with an uncompromising, distinctive style. This is LANDMVRKS in their purest form.
Lost In The Waves will be available as CD, limited vinyl in two different colour variants and a limited special fan box. Pre-order here: https://Landmvrks.lnk.to/lostinthewaves
LANDMVRKS formed in 2014 in Marseille, France, and are now comprised of Florent Salfati on vocals, Rudy Purkart on bass guitar, Nicolas Exposito and Paul C. Wilson on guitars, with Kévin D’Agostino on drums.
The band spent two years writing and recording material and playing local shows, building their reputation within the French metalcore scene with a series of singles. In May 2016, LANDMVRKS self-released their debut album Hollow, which was produced entirely by Salfati and Exposito. Following the release of Hollow the band ventured on tours throughout Europe, enticing new fans with their modern metalcore style, peppered with hardcore riffs and catchy choruses. The record also landed them slots on big festivals, strengthening their reputation even further.
In 2018 LANDMVRKS signed a record deal with Arising Empire, releasing their second studio album Fantasy. Continuing to build their name with their own fresh take on metalcore, LANDMVRKS went on to travel the world, playing in Japan, embarking on several headline tours and supporting While She Sleeps and Stray From The Path on a UK/European tour.
While they were out on the road LANDMVRKS focused on writing brand new material, which showcases a powerful new direction from the French band, one that is more mature, melodic, and deeper than before.
LANDMVRKS' UK/European tour has been postponed to October/November 2021 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and European restrictions. The date in Nuremberg has been moved to Schweinfurt - tickets will be refunded and cannot be transferred to the new show.
