The Kings of Sin, DAEMON GREY, have released a video for their new single 'Isolated'. The single celebrates the release of the band's debut full-length Follow Your Nightmares, out today via Out Of Line Music. 'Isolated' follows a series of singles over the last twelve months, including 'King Of Sin' which has surpassed 200,000 streams on Spotify.

Stream/purchase Follow Your Nightmares here: https://daemongrey.lnk.to/FollowYourNightmares

'Isolated' is a song about the fight for truth and embracing one’s vulnerability and how this can often lead to a sense of separateness from the world. The song celebrates thriving by our own volition, independent choices, and soul power. It embraces individual defiance and inner strength. Having conviction in oneself often means abolishing mainstream thinking and walking one's own path.

The music video for 'Isolated' sets an ominous mood, as vocalist Daemon Grey explains:

"We wanted to treat it more like an abstract short film. Our vision was a more mature, slick video with horror movie influences and raw emotion. Being a huge fan of horror movies, I brought the horror concept to the table. Rich (video director) found the perfect house, set the mood, and brought it to life. The storyline itself follows the meaning and tone of the track. Overall, it was really exciting to make a video, unlike anything I’ve ever done. I think the whole team was thrilled how it came out."

In a world bred to obey, DAEMON GREY serves to unite the fearless in unrestrained passion, rebellion, and glory. DAEMON GREY is your passage into the land of all things delightfully evil, bloody, and infinite. The group deliver a much-needed fix of horror-inspired, drug-induced, sex-fuelled rock-metal anthems filled to the energetic brim.

As a band, DAEMON GREY lives by the mantra Follow Your Nightmares, which is the central theme and title for the band's album, out today. The album was forged alongside Grammy-nominated producer Gavin Brown (Three Days Grace, Billy Talent), Mike Riley (Marilyn Manson), and Kevin Thrasher (Escape the Fate). DAEMON GREY have carved out a distinct corner of the metal genre, with hard-hitting songs that appeal to the most discerning fans as well as the metalhead that lives inside us all.

Grey explains: "I think our true passions are hidden underneath our deepest fears, not our dreams. To unleash our true potential, we need to tear down layers of insecurity with courage and strength. The process isn’t always comfortable or cushy… it’s hard work! To grow and advance our soul, we dive head f***ing first into our fears, transcending the darkness and finding our deepest self. Fear is such a great teacher when we know how to use it."

Tech-metalcore quintet ARCAEON release new single with playable gameboy game

UK tech-metalcore quintet ARCAEON have unveiled their new single 'Zenith II: Arcadia', taken from their debut full-length Cascadence, to be released 12th February 2021.

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/BT28w1hXhIY

In a world-first, the single is released alongside a self-made Gameboy game. Crafted over seven months by ARCAEON's bassist, Eifion, the game is available to play online, downloadable for use on Gameboy Color emulators and will be available in a limited run of Gameboy cartridges to be played on the Gameboy console itself.

Play the game via this link: https://arcaeon.itch.io/arcadia

A striking example of Covid-19 ingenuity, each level on the game corresponds to a colour in the album (the whole record is a concept about the colour/light spectrum); each hero in the game is a band member - and each band member has to find their source of power (alternatively known as their instrument).

As vocalist Stuart comments: "The track itself is about breaking free from the systems and philosophies that divide us and from the constraints of our situation. It’s about elevating ourselves beyond social, racial, political and other differences into a new togetherness. The video, and the game, is our way of saying that if we overcome our individual and collective challenges then we can break free from ignorance and reach a better, more perfect world that we call, Arcadia."

As Eifion comments: "The intention was for the different ‘levels’ the characters move through in the video to resemble the colours on our album front cover. The concept for the album and the artwork is a transition from sepia to blue. The red colours represent the heavier sections of music that predominantly feature in the first half of the album. The greens/blues represent the increased melody towards the end of the album."

Pre-order Cascadence LP here: https://arcaeon.bandcamp.com/album/cascadence

Cascadence is released 12th February 2021 and follows the band’s acclaimed debut EP Balance, released January 2018.

Packing a punch with their fine blend of technical metal and progressive metalcore, ARCAEON are a group entirely unafraid to bring all their hooks and riffs to the fore. Elements of Periphery, Intervals’ vocal album A Voice Within, and Architects combine to exhilarating effect.

ARCAEON are already a mainstay of the progressive circuit, having performed at notable events Radar Festival and Tech-Fest, as well as supporting The Dali Thundering Concept and The Arusha Accord.

As suggested by their names, tracks six and seven mark the turning point in Cascadence, which is loosely a concept album of colour, from 'Infernum Demergeris' (the Hell at the beginning of Blade Runner – sepia, orange, dark tones) through to 'An Endless Sky' (blue). ‘Zenith I: The Reflection’ is "A mantra for when we think too much about the mistakes we’ve made or what we could’ve been if we had lived differently. We cannot change history, only learn from it"; ‘Zenith II: Arcadia’ is a depiction of Utopia, "about elevating ourselves beyond our social, racial, political and other differences into a new collective togetherness".

The colour change is reflected in the band’s artwork and portraits – fully bringing together all aspects of this highly intriguing multidimensional project.

Mongolian Folk Metal Pioneers NINE TREASURES to Release 'Best Of' Record
宣传照 ROTO.jpg

Few bands can claim to have an identity and sound as remarkable as NINE TREASURES. Forming in 2010, one of the original Mongolian Folk Metal bands have one simple goal: to take Mongolian heavy metal worldwide.

Now, a decade on; three albums, millions of streams and several European tours and festival shows (Wacken Open Air, Woodstock Poland) later, NINE TREASURES are well on their way, having led a Mongolian metal revolution.

The band are celebrating their journey so far with their new ‘Best Of’ record, Awakening From Dukkha, to be released 19th March. Collecting songs from their 3-LP oeuvre, Awakening From Dukkha is both a stellar introduction to a seminal band for the new listener, and a significant recognition of the group’s achievements so far.

Pre-order the LP here: https://ninetreasures.bandcamp.com/album/awakening-from-dukkha

A celebration of the past it may be, but for vocalist/guitarist Askhan and his bandmates, this decade-spanning collection is also a rebirth for NINE TREASURES:

“Our fans deserve to hear us at our best, which is why we were so motivated to make this album. Now we’ve done that, we just want to keep NINE TREASURES going as long as possible, make music that we’re proud of and spread a little positivity… and tour the world again!”

“It’s always been about the music with us,” he says. “When I started this band I had no idea how things worked, and I thought it was all about marketing, promotion and fancy videos, but after 10 years of doing this, I’ve realised that everything revolves around the music itself. That’s why our focus is on making our music as great as it can be – we’re constantly progressing.”

The music Askhan speaks of is a unique combination of old school heavy metal and traditional Mongolian folk, which sees NINE TREASURES utilise both conventional vocals and Mongolian throat singing. Likewise, guitars, bass and drums collide with traditional string instruments such as the balalaika and the morin khuur, resulting in a sonic kaleidoscope that follows no set template. Unlike much of contemporary rock and metal, there are no rules when it comes to NINE TREASURES, and that makes the quality of the band’s output all the more impressive.

“It’s not as simple as just putting a guitar chord behind some Mongolian melodies,” Askhan explains. “Our music is so much deeper than that. We don’t follow a model, and we work to ensure the two distinct facets of our sound complement one another. I’ve changed the way I play the guitar in order to accommodate the Mongolian elements, and vice-versa. To do this takes a lot of analysis and experimentation.”

Named after a group of objects referenced in ancient Mongolian poems, NINE TREASURES’ music touches on the mythology and fairy tales of their homeland, but the band’s songs contain more universal references, too. Having recently begun practicing Buddhism – “It changed my life,” Askhan says – NINE TREASURES’ frontman is now intent on using their music to bring comfort and ease the suffering of others. “I want to share the teachings I’ve learned with others like me who have experienced anxiety,” Askhan continues. “We want NINE TREASURES to bring some positive energy into the world – the greatest thing we can do with this is to help people.”

Norwegian sextet HEAVE BLOOD & DIE stream new single 'Post People'
Heave Blood & Die 2020 Credit Brage Pedersen.jpg

Norwegian anti-capitalist experimentalists HEAVE BLOOD & DIE have released their new single 'Post People', the title track of their forthcoming LP to be released 5th February via Fysisk Format.

The video was premiered on New Noise Magazine, and you can watch the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0iQxI_dwVxU

A searing anti-capitalist critique, laying waste to non-justified authority, Post People will be released on recycled vinyl.

Pre-order the record and stream the new single, video here: https://smarturl.it/HBAD

Watch the first single 'Radio Silence' here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTbxGUOU61c

HEAVE BLOOD & DIE are a group from Tromsø, Norway, the far northern reaches of Europe - a land under the aurora borealis, with midnight sun and never-ending winters.

The group's early memories and close affinity to nature have informed their worldview - a staunchly environmentalist, progressive outlook which runs deeply throughout Post People. We are standing on the verge of a junction with two options: ruin, or the chance of redemption. In the words of the band: "The have had is more dangerous than the never had. A new dawn is rising, and the possible outcome is terrifying".

HEAVE BLOOD & DIE's anti-capitalist ethos is leading them toward their most expressive album yet - a fine combination of experimental rock, post-metal, post-punk and raw expression. Elements of Jesu, Solstafir, Årabrot and Killing Joke meld together to create a truly satisfying assertion of self. Fiercely proud and opinionated, the group stand for a better future, one which we can all hope for.

HEAVE BLOOD & DIE have already caught the attention of many in their home country, and have played at Roskilde Festival and Tons of Rock, among others. Post People is mixed by Graham Walsh (Holy F*ck, METZ, Viet Cong) and mastered by Paul Gold (Angel Olsen, Preoccupations, Beach House).

Tech-metalcore quintet PROSPECTIVE release new single / video, 'Liar'

Italian progressive metalcore quintet PROSPECTIVE have shared new single / video 'Liar', taken from their latest album All We Have, out now via Long Branch Records. The digital two-track release also features an instrumental version of 'Liar' and is available to stream and download now.

Drummer Flavio Cacciari about 'Liar':

“'Liar' is one of those songs that made us say "holy sh*t this is good". I remember composing it at 4am in the morning with my body requesting some sleep but it was such a moment of inspiration that I couldn't stop.” He adds, “it all started with that synth thing at the beginning of the track, all the rest came naturally.”

Of the lyrics, frontman and vocalist Pietro Serratore says, “the song is about a person that is not good for you, completely toxic. We're all about that concept of letting go people that are not suited for your life, just let them go.”

All We Have is the result of countless nights spent shaping their unique sound, trying to achieve the perfect combination of melody, tones, attitude and feel. The songs are straightforward and hard-hitting with no remorse, combining abrasive guitar tones, heavy riffs, gnarly breakdowns, catchy choruses and unexpected melodies. The album is completed with a mix finished to perfection by Buster Odeholm and mastering engineer Ermin Hamidovic.

Following on from the more technical and less emotionally driven sophomore album Unreal, All We Have is new chapter for PROSPECTIVE, and a chance to explore the deepest and strongest experiences and traumas that have inspired the album. There is a clear evolution in heaviness, with more thoughtful choruses but with more attention to song structures. This is a band packed with passion and a lot to say, and all the riffs and breakdowns to back it up.

PROSPECTIVE are:

Pietro Serratore - Vocals
Luca Zini - Guitar & Vocals
Davide Ruggeri - Guitar
Stefano Baldanza - Bass
Flavio Cacciari - Drums

GHOST IRIS release new single 'paper tiger'
Ghost Iris PROMO PIC 2020.jpg

Danish technical metalcore quartet GHOST IRIS have released 'paper tiger', the first single from their new album coming Spring 2021 via Long Branch Records.

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/e8ZkOcG36bc
Stream 'paper tiger' here: https://GhostIris.lnk.to/papertiger

Technical yet melodic guitars, fast-paced groovy drums, and vocals ranging from angry growls to striking cleans combine to form band's well established signature sound. Aiming to provide an experience that is as catchy and varied as it is hard hitting, GHOST IRIS impressively explore diverse moods and atmosphere with satisfying metallic power.

Having toured with the likes of After The Burial, Dream Theater and Soen, GHOST IRIS recently hit the road in Germany together with Ukrainian beasts Jinjer on their social distancing mini-tour, making them one of the first and only bands to cross borders during the COVID-19 pandemic.

GHOST IRIS comment on 'paper tiger': "Life is a rollercoaster. A rollercoaster where the hunters become the hunted and the weak become the strong. In the end no one cares and our world will dwindle, for time sheds no tear. It's a song that centers around nihilism, misanthropy and the inevitable end. Paper tigers are plenty, but the real tigers are few. Who are you?"

GHOST IRIS recently announced a European tour as special guests for post-hardcore band SKYWALKER. The tour was originally planned for 2020 but was postponed due to the ongoing pandemic. Check social media for dates.

Jesper Vicencio Gün - Vocals
Nicklas Grønlund Thomsen - Guitar

The band comment on the new album:

“This album is about telling stories that are presented through the lens of hindsight, regret and looking back. There are songs that celebrate life when faced with death, and others that speak to the choices we make about how we live our lives. The fear of love, newfound respect for life and the covering up of depression are all subjects that rear their head. The Greatest Mistake Of My Life exercises emotion in many ways, and that was an important thing for us to do, because emotion isn’t rigid – it’s not just love or joy or sadness – it’s a lot of things.”

Finnish metalcore eccentrics ONE MORNING LEFT release new single 'Ruby Dragon'
One Morning Left press shot.jpg

Finnish metalcore act ONE MORNING LEFT have released their new single 'Ruby Dragon'. The track is taken from the band's forthcoming album Hyperactive, set for release on 21st May 2021 via Arising Empire.

Check out 'Ruby Dragon' here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyZmNtO4QP0

Stream/purchase 'Ruby Dragon' here: https://OneMorningLeft.lnk.to/rubydragon

The band's second single 'Ruby Dragon' is a song about self-improvement, overcoming depression and becoming the best version of yourself, opening their upcoming album with a bang.

"Mika wanted a song about the board game Labyrinth, so I adapted that to the themes above and had a great time writing this, even though the inspirations are.. heavy," explains singer/guitarist Leevi Luoto.

Keyboardist Touko Keippilä continues: "'Ruby Dragon' was the culmination point in the album writing process, as it perfectly encapsulates what we aspire our new musical style to be like. Groovy, heavy riffs and clean, glistening synth work providing a platform for the two vocalists to deliver their lines with a raw and wild energy."

Pre-order Hyperactive now: https://OneMorningLeft.lnk.to/hyperactive

ONE MORNING LEFT’s fourth album marks their first new material in five years. On Hyperactive the group begin a whole new chapter in their story, drawing inspiration from retro electronic and video game music, as well as 80's hard rock, while staying true to their heavier roots.

Changes are happening not only in the musical style, but also in their line-up. Returning from the cast of 2016’s Metalcore Superstars are frontman Mika Lahti, singer/guitarist Leevi Luoto and drummer Niko Hyttinen. Additional firepower is provided by new faces Tuukka Ojansivu on guitar and Miska Sipiläinen on bass guitar, as well as the return-to-form of keyboard player Touko Keippilä from the band’s original Panda <3 Penguin line-up.

The album shapes up to be the artistic peak of ONE MORNING LEFT's musical "blood mountain": epic lyrics carried by Luoto’s soaring vocal melodies, contrasted by the distinctive, gritty sound of Lahti, all accompanied by breathtaking keyboard leads, blisteringly fast guitars, masterful bass riffs and feverish drum parts.

With the release of Hyperactive, ONE MORNING LEFT look to add to their growing global fanbase. Having gathered extensive live performance experience playing countless shows in Finland, touring mainland Europe, Russia, and the Baltics, as well as Iceland and Japan, the group are planning to take their entertaining and energetic live show on the road in the near future.

The band conclude: "Join us on our quest to make the world a bit more epic!"

Founded in 2008 in Vaasa, Finland, ONE MORNING LEFT are well known for their unique blend of electro, hardcore and metalcore influences as well as their entertaining and energetic live shows where absolutely anything can happen.

ONE MORNING LEFT have played shows with bands including Amaranthe, Machinae Supremacy, Adept, Protest The Hero, Fear Of Domination, Turmion Kätilöt and We Butter The Bread With Butter. The band have also graced the Finnish festival season, playing renowned festivals like Tuska Open Air and Rockfest.

ONE MORNING LEFT's debut albumThe Bree-Teenz (2011) reached #30 on Finland's official album charts, and was followed by their sophomore album Our Sceneration at #45 in 2013.
