French metalcore stars Landmvrks have announced a live stream on 2nd June 2021, with rising bands Resolve and Glassbone.

The stream will be at 6pm BST / 19:00 CEST at this location: www.landmvrks.com/stream

Featuring the supports on the upcoming Landmvrks headline tour, the live stream serves as a great taster of what to expect.

Commenting on the event, Resolve bassist Robin Mariat said: "A few months back, during the darkest days of the pandemic, director and longtime collaborator Aurélien Mariat approached us with an idea. What if we took the package from Landmvrks future EU/UK tour, still surrounded by so much uncertainty even at this point, and put together a unique online show that anyone in the world could enjoy? A few weeks and Zoom calls later, Landmvrks, Glassbone and crew joined us at our warehouse in the Lyon suburbs and for a couple days, life almost felt like a regular day on tour. Hopefully the good vibes will translate on screen, cause we sure had the best time putting this together and we couldn’t be more stoked with the outcome!"

UK tour dates:

11.10.21 UK Birmingham Asylum 2
12.10.21 UK Glasgow Garage Attic
13.10.21 UK Manchester Star & Garter

Cognitive release stunning video and announce new album
unnamed - 2021-05-28T090030.932.jpg

New Jersey based brutal death metal act Cognitive return with new single and stunning video ‘ENIAC’, and have announced the release of fourth album Malevolent Thoughts of a Hastened Extinction, out 16th July via Unique Leader.

Watch 'ENIAC' here: https://youtu.be/9T1N5M3oA4A

Stream 'ENIAC' and pre-save Malevolent Thoughts of a Hastened Extinction here: https://orcd.co/Malevolent

Guitarist Rob Wharton commented "'ENIAC' was one of the first songs written for the new album, and when it was completed we instantly were like this has to be a single. The name 'ENIAC' comes from the first computer, and musically this song we felt has a lot of new elements that are showcased on this album, from some more tech-laden grooves, big chord sections, a ripper solo, and some catchy vocal patterns. And Zen-Beast did an amazing job of making this video come to life to put a cherry on top. We hope you enjoy!"

Cognitive formed in 2011 with the intent to create bone shattering death metal while blending in abstract dissonant melodies and time signatures, creating a totally fresh death metal journey.

After releasing an EP and full length, Cognitive signed to Unique Leader Records in 2016 and released second album Deformity, which tells the tale of their home state's own legend about the Jersey Devil.

Ramping up their tour schedule, the band continued to write and push themselves within the genre with technicality, speed, brutality, and songwriting, which came to shine through even more on the 2018 release Matricide, which displayed more focused effort while increasing speed and technicality even more. With an even more increased tour schedule, the band supported with the likes of Fit for an Autopsy, Rivers of Nihil, Through the Eyes of the Dead, Waking the Cadaver, Vulvodynia, Kraanium,Abiotic, Lorna shore, Wormed, Artificial Brain and more, along with appearances at Maryland Deathfest, a European tour including Deathfeast Open Air, Iceland, and Puerto Rico, Cognitive has become a touring machine with one goal in mind, always moving forward.

Now with the release of their new album Malevolent Thoughts of a Hastened Extinction, the band display more diversity and song writing than ever, and prove yet again they are never scared to explore new concepts musically and explore new territory.

Vocals - Shane Jost
Lead guitar - Harry Lannon
Guitar - Rob Whartone
Bass - Tyler Capone-Vitale

DISTANT tyrannise on vicious new single / video 'The Tyrannt’s Covenant' feat. Kyle Anderson (Brand of Sacrifice)
unnamed - 2021-05-26T130054.148.jpg

Distant have released a brand new fan-centric song! 'The Tyrannt's Covenant', taken from their forthcoming album Aeons Of Oblivion, is scheduled for release via Unique Leader Records on 11th June. The track features the vocal brutality of Kyle Anderson from Brand of Sacrifice, as well as voice samples from Distant fans.

Check out the video here: https://youtu.be/Qtis8KxWNtU

Pre-orders: https://orcd.co/aeonsofoblivion

The Dutch slam-hybrid deathcore six-piece that appears to never stand still comments: “'The Tyrannt’s Covenant' is an oath to the army of Tyrannt Taglaroth and to the loyal supporters of Distant. Not only does it praise our fans but also features them in the spotlight, in the middle of the song you can hear the chanting voices of the Covenant. These voice samples were taken straight from fans recording themselves to make a song for them, by them. To add to that, Kyle Anderson from Brand of Sacrifice joined this special project to show us how ruthless his vocal performance can be!"

New album Aeons Of Oblivion wraps up the story of Tyrannotophia, the realm of the doomed and the sound of the world's damnation. This draws to a conclusion the final pieces of the fable which the band's previous releases Dawn Of Corruption (2020) and Dusk Of Anguish (2021) laid out. Distant's full-length album totals over one hour of tormenting hymns that deal with Tyrannt’s conquest and hunger for revenge. Featuring five new songs with guest spots including Adam Warren of Oceano and Kyle Anderson of Brand of Sacrifice, the result is a cacophony of carnage that unfolds throughout the whole record.

The new album is also accompanied by a stunning limited edition hardback novel: 'The Rise of Tyrannotophia' which has been co-written by the band's vocalist, Alan Grnja and bass player, Elmer Maurits.

Hailing from Rotterdam, The Netherlands and Bratislava, Slovakia, Distant have produced some of their most ferocious work to date with the announcement of their fourth release for Unique Leader. Featuring cover artwork by Calean Stokkermans (The Acacia Strain, Lorna Shore, Misery Index), Distant perform the dark hymns of the fallen kingdom for listeners to experience the atmospheric despair and the grotesque void to come. Since 2014 the band have bludgeoned their way across Europe, with the release of their first two EPs Slither (2015) and Tsukuyomi (2017). Recently joining forces with Unique Leader to release their debut full-length album Tyrannotophia (June 2019), Dawn of Corruption EP (2020) and Dusk Of Anguish (2021).

Australian progressive instrumentalists, The Omnific - featuring the unique line up of two bass players and a drummer - have streamed their new single/video 'Wax & Wane', out now via Wild Thing Records.

Stream: smarturl.it/theomnific

Bassist Toby Peterson-Stewart comments: “After 2 years of being hidden away working on our craft, it’s exciting to finally share new music. 'Wax & Wane' explores the natural ebbs & flows of musical inspiration, a concoction of riffs developed during the Covid lockdown. Throughout the song & music video, elements both audible and visible have been reversed and altered, giving meaning to the name. We are incredibly appreciative of the team we have assisting us, creating a coherent visual representation (artwork and music video) that enhances the music we create.”

After releasing three stunning EPs the band have attracted interest and fans from all corners of the globe clocking in over five million Spotify streams and two million views on their Youtube channel. The Omnific’s accessible style is for all music lovers; from those seeking to be challenged to those who wish to be blanketed by atmosphere, creating an identifiable sound and truly global fan base. With swirling textures, syncopation, euphoric highs and melancholic lows, The Omnific are truly captivating.

The band have established working relationships with reputable companies Darkglass Electronics, Neural DSP and Dingwall Guitars, seeing them represent the brands with performances at the Melbourne Guitar Show, bringing attention amongst the ‘Gear-Nerd’ community. Coupled with their online play-through, gear demo and music videos, the band’s reach is beyond what many would expect from this impressive Melbourne trio so early in their career.

They are also no stranger to the live circuit with a stack of domestic and international touring under their belt, having toured with Between the Buried and Me (Australian Tour) Cog (Sold Out Australian Tour), Intervals & Sithu Aye (European Tour), several of their own headline Australian tours as well as supporting Ne Obliviscaris, Galactic Empire, Circles and others.

RADAR Festival postpones to 2022
unnamed - 2021-05-25T101752.640.jpg

RADAR Festival has postponed its 2021 edition to 2022 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The festival will return as a three day event, on 29/30/31 July 2022.

The organisers have released the following statement:

"An Apology

"We are sorry that we have been quiet recently. RADAR Festival 2021 is fast approaching and we have again had to take the decision to postpone the festival another year to 2022. Previously when we were forced to postpone, we had done it with a full line up announcement. We have been working on this behind the scenes, but we are aware that people may start booking flights and paying for accommodation and we were unable to get that over the line this time.

"However, there will be news soon. More of that later in this announcement...

"RADAR 2.0 - July 2021

"Sadly, we are still unable to guarantee that we can hold our event this year.

"This is due to a mixture of international flight uncertainty and the continued situation that UK festivals find themselves in - without event cancellation insurance in the UK.  We had only just started our ambitious journey into the world of festivals and we just can’t afford to take the risk without insurance - it may scupper the future of the whole festival beyond this pandemic.

"Additionally, there is no guarantee at this moment that we can hold a full capacity event. We are big believers in the atmosphere of a packed room, so this is something we cannot compromise.

"Our trade body, the Association for Independent Festivals, has been working hard on our collective industry behalf and fighting our corner, but help from the government, although seemingly on the way, has not yet been forthcoming in time for us to plan safely.

"We also don’t want to hold a festival without our wonderful international visitors and acts being able to guarantee their attendance.

"In a world of Zooms, we recognise their usefulness in keeping us connected but we want to be able to stand next to you and watch the incredible shows that we’re putting together.

"RADAR 2.0 - July 2022 - Three days of progressive music!

"As detailed, we are postponing RADAR 2.0 to 2022. We will be adding an additional day, to become a three-day event and we can announce that our new dates are 29 / 30 / 31 July 2022.

"We are in the process of rebooking and expect to keep a lot of our existing lineup, although there will be some inevitable amendments. Once we know - we’ll let you know"

RADAR Festival is held in Guildford, Surrey. With their mixture of international talent and confirmed homegrown success, RADAR Festival position themselves as champions of forward-thinking guitar-led music. Launched in 2019 to acclaim, with performances from Animals As Leaders, Agent Fresco, Rolo Tomassi and more, the new festival is already making a claim as one of the UK's most exciting progressive music events.

Alt rock solo artist Queen of Uncool releases debut EP and powerful single
unnamed - 2021-05-25T101252.340.jpg

Alt rock solo artist Queen of Uncool has released new single 'Fine' and debut EP Love & War.

Watch the visualiser to 'Fine' here: https://youtu.be/_sfSSibQkKk

Stream / Purchase 'Fine' and Love & War here: https://queenofuncool.bandcamp.com/

The Love & War EP is an alt-rock journal on love, abuse, passion and revenge, written from a place outside of society and delivered with equal parts sentimentality and rage; the latter emotion being spearheaded on new single 'Fine', which shoots itself in the neck of fakers and was conceived during a period of homelessness.

Queen of Uncool explains: "'Fine' is a big F**k You. It’s a calculated stream of rage, exorcised from me and fired back in the face of a world corrupted with endless deceit and fakery. It’s my reaction to those that smile vacuously during the day and sleep soundly at night despite their vanishing moral consciousness. It’s a song for the voiceless and disenfranchised in a society that increasingly values image over substance and takes pride in popularity and seeing what it can get away with. 'Fine' was written during a period of homelessness and reaffirms music as the only safe place I have ever known."

On the new EP, she continues: "Much of Love & War expresses the anger and desperation felt when you are burnt out on life and there is nothing there to catch you. I have known abuse in many forms, and explore the process of dealing with these experiences in this journey of sound. Picking up my guitar in a quiet, dark place and writing has always helped me to process pain and connect me to how I feel. It’s difficult just waking up each day when you live in full knowledge of the horrors of the world, but cynicism is the flip side of romanticism: you can only give up and give in if you believed in the first place. And I still hold a strong, firm belief in love."

Despite the absence of long suffering band members, adoring fans or a supportive significant other, Surrey’s uncoolest solo artist has nevertheless been hailed "queen" by director Cameron Crowe and as a “really important artist” by Simon Raymonde of Bella Union.

Artists such as Alice in Chains, Hole & Smashing Pumpkins provided the alternative music queen with the sonic stamina to spend the past decade performing, producing and writing in the silent, dark recesses of the world, wherever she could find them.

In 2019 the singer-guitarist formed a power trio and spent the year haunting small rock venues such as The Dublin Castle (Camden) in and around London, before recording new EP Love & War. The first single 'Grim' hit the airwaves of BBC Radio 6 in Summer 2020 via Tom Robinson, and a mere pandemic later, Love & War has finally been released.

Queen of Uncool was ranked lucky no.13 in "ones to watch" in 2021 by Louder Than War, and for good reason. The uncool trio are ready - bordering on agitated - to take on the live scene as soon as venues allow, and believe there are many more in the shadows who hold a candle for the type of outsider rock that Queen of Uncool can provide. Whether there is an audience out there or not; there will definitely be a spectacle, out of so much darkness, there must surely come a light.

Finnish metalcore eccentrics One Morning Left release new album and video for 'Downfall'
One Morning Left press shot.jpg

Finnish metalcore eccentrics One Morning Left have revealed a video for their single 'Downfall', taken from their new album Hyperactive, out today (21st May 2021) via Arising Empire.

Watch the video for 'Downfall' here: https://youtu.be/H6Thkb_bPv0

Adding to the wide variety of musical styles heard on Hyperactive, 'Downfall' is a funk and nu-metal-inspired track, full of haunting keyboards, screeching guitars, and Miska Sipiläinen's groovy bass lines. There are also guest appearances from DJ Massimo and underground rapper OG Ulla-Maija. The song, inspired by the graphic novel The Killing Joke, describes a person’s struggle coping with constant stress, depression, and anxiety.

Keyboardist/backing vocalist Touko Keippilä comments:

"The lyrics on this one hit the closest to home for me. Having suffered from anxiety and depression, screaming along to "Will I ever be whole again?" sends a shiver down my spine every time."

Stream/purchase Hyperactive here: https://OneMorningLeft.lnk.to/hyperactive

One Morning Left’s fourth album marks their first new material in five years. On Hyperactive the group begin a whole new chapter in their story, drawing inspiration from retro electronic and video game music, as well as 80's hard rock, while staying true to their heavier roots.

Changes are happening not only in the musical style, but also in their line-up. Returning from the cast of 2016’s Metalcore Superstars are frontman Mika Lahti, singer/guitarist Leevi Luoto and drummer Niko Hyttinen. Additional firepower is provided by new faces Tuukka Ojansivu on guitar and Miska Sipiläinen on bass guitar, as well as the return-to-form of keyboard player Touko Keippilä from the band’s original Panda <3 Penguin line-up.

The album shapes up to be the artistic peak of One Morning Left's musical "blood mountain": epic lyrics carried by Luoto’s soaring vocal melodies, contrasted by the distinctive, gritty sound of Lahti, all accompanied by breathtaking keyboard leads, blisteringly fast guitars, masterful bass riffs and feverish drum parts.

With the release of Hyperactive, One Morning Left look to add to their growing global fanbase. Having gathered extensive live performance experience playing countless shows in Finland, touring mainland Europe, Russia, and the Baltics, as well as Iceland and Japan, the group are planning to take their entertaining and energetic live show on the road in the near future.

The band conclude: "Join us on our quest to make the world a bit more epic!"

Founded in 2008 in Vaasa, Finland, One Morning Left are well known for their unique blend of electro, hardcore and metalcore influences as well as their entertaining and energetic live shows where absolutely anything can happen.

One Morning Left have played shows with bands including Amaranthe, Machinae Supremacy, Adept, Protest The Hero, Fear Of Domination, Turmion Kätilöt and We Butter The Bread With Butter. The band have also graced the Finnish festival season, playing renowned festivals like Tuska Open Air and Rockfest.

One Morning Left's debut albumThe Bree-Teenz (2011) reached #30 on Finland's official album charts, and was followed by their sophomore album Our Sceneration at #45 in 2013.
