Melbourne progressive instrumental trio The Omnific - featuring the unique line-up of two bass players and a drummer - have streamed their exhilarating new single 'Antecedent', featuring Clay Gober, bassist of Polyphia.

Watch 'Antecedent' here: https://youtu.be/co2vlSu2Gow

Stream: https://smarturl.it/theomnific

Bassist Matthew Fackrell comments: "True to the definition of 'Antecedent', we looked to create a vintage style of music video, taking inspiration from the story of Sherlock Holmes. With the addition of paintings and artist utensils, coupled with the easel used, it allowed for Clay to be featured in a unique and appropriate manner. To the eagle-eyed viewer, an Easter egg is hidden within the music video too."

Clay Gober says: "I had such a wicked good time working on this. It’s the first guest part I’ve ever done so I had to run it through about 100 refinement steps, just out of the desire to make it kick as much ass as possible. But on the other hand, some of the more key parts of it came pretty quick (which to me is the mark of a good song). Grateful to have been given such a fun project during quarantine, and by such a talented group of guys."

After releasing three stunning EPs the band have attracted interest and fans from all corners of the globe clocking in over 5 million Spotify streams and 2 million views on their Youtube channel. The Omnific’s accessible style is for all music lovers; from those seeking to be challenged to those who wish to be blanketed by atmosphere, creating an identifiable sound and diverse international fan base. With swirling textures, syncopation, euphoric highs and melancholic lows;, The Omnific are truly captivating.

The band have established working relationships with reputable companies Darkglass Electronics, Neural DSP and Dingwall Guitars, seeing them represent the brands with performances at the Melbourne Guitar Show, bringing attention amongst the ‘Gear-Nerd’ community. Coupled with their online play-through, gear demo and music videos, the band’s reach is beyond what many would expect from this impressive Melbourne trio so early in their career.

They are also no stranger to the live circuit with a stack of domestic and international touring under their belt, having toured with Between the Buried and Me (Australian Tour) Cog (Sold Out Australian Tour), Intervals & Sithu Aye (European Tour), several of their own headline Australian tours as well as supporting Ne Obliviscaris, Galactic Empire, Circles and others.

Conjurer re-release video for 'Choke'
unnamed (29).jpg

Following a spectacular and long overdue return to the live stage at the Download Pilot last weekend, UK metal heavyweights Conjurer have re-released their video for 'Choke', the relentless opening track of their debut LP Mire (2018). Effortlessly switching from sludge to metallic hardcore, and from progressive post-metal to post-black metal, this song not only demonstrates the musical proficiency of this young band, it also proves that they can't be pigeonholed no matter how hard you try.

Conjurer - 'Choke': https://youtu.be/u_KCxp5CSvg

Conjurer's Conor Marshall (bass) comments:
“'Choke' has become a bit of a fan-favourite over the past few years since Mire was released and it’s one of ours too. I think the general consensus within the band is still that 'Choke' is the “best" Conjurer song that’s been released so far and showcases a lot of what we do. The video loosely follows the lyrical theme of the song, which looks at the way things like “fame” and pressure from society, the industry and the gutter press can affect artists and celebrities. The idea being that the shots of the band in a white room, dressed in suits represents someone being dressed up and pushed out to perform despite them clearly not being in the best state, and them then starting to deteriorate, and the dark, more aggressive shots representing the inner turmoil and struggle.

Conjurer's still untitled second full-length and follow-up to their critically acclaimed 2018 debut album Mire is set to be released in the not too distant future. Stay tuned for more information.

In the meantime you can watch a video for the song 'The Mire' and stream the band's two previous releases here: http://nblast.de/Conjurer-Catalogue

The future of British metal lies in safe hands with Conjurer, who continue their journey as the country’s most exciting young metal band with their signing to Nuclear Blast worldwide.

Conjurer’s debut full-length Mire (2018) was released to a storm of attention from across the metal world, garnering significant acclaim from Metal Hammer UK, Kerrang!, BBC R1, Visions Mag (DE), Metal Obs (FR), MetalSucks, Metal Injection, Loudwire and many more. Recipients of award nominations (Kerrang!, Heavy Music Awards, Metal Hammer’s Golden Gods) and countless albums of the year lists, Mire is a stunning listen, capturing the attitude of a young band who already know exactly who they are.

Hailed as one of the metal world’s most devastating, thrilling experiences, Conjurer are a band never content to rest. Following Mire’s release in 2018 the quartet soon toured Europe for the first time, appeared at multiple UK festivals, and support of doom titans Conan and Will Haven.

In the following years the band have toured the US twice, supporting Rivers of Nihil (stopping to record an Audiotree session along the way), and then Voivod, with Revocation. 2019 also saw Conjurer’s debut Download Festival appearance, thrilling a packed-out Dogtooth stage, and the release of the joyous collaborative project with Pijn, titled Curse These Metal Hands. Later in the year a split EP with Palm Reader was released, containing two cover songs by each band.

It was only at the end of 2019 that Conjurer closed out their triumphant Mire cycle, with a sold-out UK run – their debut headline tour. Despite Covid-19 preventing live appearances for the majority of 2020 the band have unsurprisingly been busy, writing and recording their highly-anticipated second LP.

The second single from the upcoming album is entitled 'Dancing With The Dead', and underlines POWERWOLF's indispensable skill for pure, bloody heavy metal and hooks that will stay in your head forever. The hit-filled four-minute track just screams for big stages and will not only captivate loyal followers but also new fans immediately.

Featuring Attila's gripping vocals and irresistible riffs, the accompanying cinematic music video takes the viewer back to the past and once again showcases POWERWOLF's visual strength. The video comes as a cinematic short film and stages a wild dance with the dead.

Once again created in cooperation with the honorable producer duo of Jens Bogren and Joost van den Broek, the masterpiece will open a new chapter in the band's history on 16th July 2021. The eighth studio album will serve both old and newly recruited POWERWOLF devotees with well-known classic trademarks, and equally surprise and delight them at every stage of this wild 11-track ride.

Matthew Greywolf comments on Call Of The Wild: "With Call Of The Wild, we are opening a new, exciting chapter in the history of POWERWOLF. The album sounds unmistakably like POWERWOLF and is so much more at the same time: Besides new territory like the Celtic instrumentation in 'Blood for Blood (Faoladh)' or the ballad like 'Alive or Undead' we have raised all our trademarks to a new level. Until now, we never sounded so powerful and wild - in the truest sense of the word. We can't wait to finally share this beast of an album with you all!"

The first music video from the new album for 'Beast Of Gévaudan' has already gained more than 1.3 million views on YouTube. Watch the outstanding video again here: https://youtu.be/po-u-V6GiEk

ABOUT POWERWOLF:

The story of POWERWOLF, beginning in 2004, reads like a true fairytale, but is the result of the most hard-working and entertaining live band on the heavy metal planet. POWERWOLF has not only received plenty of Gold and Platinum awards to date, but numerous releases have entered the official German album charts at the top position of #1. With Blessed & Possessed (2015), POWERWOLF achieved Gold status (in the Czech Republic) for the first time, while its predecessor, Preachers Of The Night (2013), hit the official German album charts at #1, and the incredible DVD, The Metal Mass (2016), came in at #1 of the German DVD-Charts. POWERWOLF's holy mass in the name of heavy metal is unstoppable – their latest magnum opus, The Sacrament of Sin (2018), again entered the album charts at #1. The accompanying, almost completely sold out Wolfsnächte headline tour – in which POWERWOLF headlined large venues with their phenomenal stage performances – became a single major triumph, as well as the numerous summer festival shows in which crowds were thrilled and completely captivated by the wolves and their unique, (un)holy metal mass. With the new studio album, Call Of The Wild, and the Wolfsnächte 2021 tour charging through the largest halls in Europe, 2021 will again be a year completely under the sign of the wolf pack!

Ingested launch new single 'This Disgusting Revelation'
unnamed (23).jpg

British death metal titans Ingested have released 'This Disgusting Revelation', the second killer single to be taken from their forthcoming release of The Surreption II - a reimagined recording of their vital second album, The Surreption. The reimagined version will celebrate the album's 10 year anniversary and is set for release on 30th July 2021 via Unique Leader.

Vocalist Jason Evans comments: "We're very excited to present to you our reimagined version of 'This Disgusting Revelation', this was always one of our favourite tracks from the original release of The Surreption and we're super happy we've finally been able to give it the love and attention it deserves. We decided to take a no-frills approach to this video, editing together footage captured during the lockdown recording sessions for the album. This is us, raw and unfiltered, no bells and whistles, coming out swinging. This song is brutal and not for the faint of heart! But what else were you expecting? Watch the video, blast it fucking LOUD, but most of all, ENJOY THAT SHIT! We love you all, thank you so much for the love and support during what has been a difficult year for everyone, our fans are our family and we've got so much more in store for you. Big love."

Comprised of ten tracks, The Surreption II has been reimagined, rerecorded and modernised to reflect present-day Ingested, over 44 minutes of some of the finest death metal the UK has ever produced, played with intensity and breathless precision. Over the course of the past decade Ingested have continued to rise, perfecting their sound to wield not only a recognisable brutality but also to demonstrate considerable technical prowess, to become one of the most dynamic forces in contemporary death metal.

Production, drum tracking, mixing and mastering were handled by Nico Beninato of Kimera Recordings in Palma de Mallorca, Spain. Nico has also worked with Ingested on their past three releases Stinking Cesspool of Liquefied Human Remnants [2021], Where Only Gods May Tread [2020] and Call of the Void [2019]. Guitars and vocals were tracked at home with Nico overseeing via Zoom call. The band had never recorded an album over Zoom before and comment that it was 'a really odd but awesome experience.'

Commenting on why they chose to re-record the album the band said: "We always felt that the songs on The Surreption were great but there was just something not right about the sound, it just kind of sounded small and there were some performances on songs we weren't happy with. So we needed to make everything bigger and better, and we feel that we've really achieved something special here."

The original artwork has also had a make-over, initially created by Colin Marks the band asked him to reimagine his original piece to fit their reimagined version of the album. The original The Surreption album cover was also the only artwork in Ingested's discography that wasn't tied into every other album cover via Easter eggs, something which the band has now rectified.

Ingested will support for Bleed From Within on their forthcoming 'The Fracture Tour', commencing 2nd November 2021 in Cologne, Germany. Kill The Lights have been announced as openers.

wornoc releases live video for debut single 'Signs' featuring drummers Andrew Marshall (Billie Eilish) and Justin Nace (ex-PVRIS)
unnamed (18).jpg

Dublin based alt-electronic composer wornoc has released a performance video for his debut single, 'Signs', featuring drummers Andrew Marshall (Billie Eilish) and Justin Nace (ex-PVRIS).

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/ZnX7AmT5niA

Stream here: https://ffm.to/wornocmusic

wornoc (Conor Walsh)'s personal attraction towards minimalist instrumental music encompasses his fascinations with static harmony, gradual additive textures, repetition, phase shifts and static instrumentation. His music allows the listener to become mesmerised by the meta-musical properties revealed within his intoxicating fusion of cinematic, intense, emotional and at times, aggressive styles of compositions, driven by infectious grooves, melodic guitar riffs and electronic music.

Far from the typical sounds of the Irish music scene, wornoc provides a spectacular sonic environment for introspections.

'Signs' is full of these subtle layers of textural timbres, taking the listener on an unexpected journey into the unknown.

As wornoc comments: wornoc has been in the works for a while now, but I often found myself busy or distracted with life and my alt-punk band, Versive. When Covid hit, I suddenly had a bit more free time on my hands so I had no excuse but to finally lift this project off the ground. Last summer I built a small cosy recording studio in my back garden which pushed me to start writing music that was different to what I usual did. wornoc was born out of my inspiration for film music, electronic music and sound design. 'Signs' was the first track I wrote, which came together quite quickly, probably because I was acting on a gut instinct and didn’t feel any pressure to write anything in a certain genre.”

British metal outfit INSURGENT announce debut EP; release new single 'Colours Bleed'
insurgent-47.jpg

One of the UK's most thrilling new metal prospects, Insurgent, have announced the release of their debut EP Sentient, on 6th August. The band have also issued a new single 'Colours Bleed'.

Finely-crafted and fully mature songwriting belies the quartet’s youth – a foursome who met in music college and who in their short time together have already toured as far afield as Ukraine. Elements of prog metal in the vein of TesseracT and The Agonist meld with stadium-filling anthems not far removed from Alter BridgeTrivium, and Jinjer.

Comments guitarist Joe Rowley: "We always chase that perfect blend between heavy rhythms and memorable, powerfully delivered vocal melodies and we feel that Sentient is the perfect collection of songs with which to present our sound to the world. Lyrically, we like to challenge the status quo and tackle the various problems associated with modern society whilst encouraging people to reflect on their behaviour and how they could change it for the better. There is always a tricky balance to be struck between sounding new and exciting whilst still remaining identifiable, and without alienating your audience. We feel like this is the musical space in which we thrive and we will always promise to deliver music that exceeds the expectations of the rock and metal world."

Insurgent deliver beyond musical excellence – the songs on offer across Sentient are all written from the perspective of a God-like figure. Through this figure the band analyse negative behaviour of humans (track one, ‘Zero Sum’) and spiritual reflection and criticism of our creator (track six ‘My Sentence Awaits’). Ultimately Insurgent look to inspire, with the overriding message of the EP being that each individual has the power to improve the world, by improving themselves.

Led by Kate Teitge’s brilliantly powerful, emotive vocals, and backed by the technical skill and intensity of Joe Rowley (guitar), Jake Brettle (bass) and Mike Tebone (drums), Insurgent are a new group ready to take your notice.

Vulvodynia release new single/video 'Eternal Wasteland of Galaxies'
unnamed - 2021-06-22T112236.028.jpg

South African death metal six-piece Vulvodynia have released new single / video 'Eternal Wasteland of Galaxies' ahead of their new album Praenuntius Infiniti, which is out 17th September via Unique Leader Records.

Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/yypdPjtc4To

Pre-order Praenuntius Infiniti here: https://orcd.co/praenuntiusinfiniti

The band commented: "This single is definitely one we've really been looking forward to releasing. It showcases a very different side of Vulvodynia that we are very proud to finally be unveiling! Praenuntius Infiniti is a concept album and 'The Eternal Wasteland Of Galaxies' is a small chapter where our main character has swallowed the world and all events henceforth are taking place in his belly! We hope critics and fans alike will accept this new sound and concept and fall in love with it as much as we have!"

An unending sea of carnage, a God-turned-beast devouring everything within its path, an epic, sprawling tale of the consumption of galaxies and their inhabitants - and the duality of battling deities that takes place to bring the reign of Praenuntius to an end. What does this all mean? Simply put, it means Vulvodynia - South Africa’s premium death metal export - are back with Praenuntius Infiniti, their fourth full-length release and a label signing to boot. Completing the tale established in their critically acclaimed 2015 EP Finis Omnium Ignorantiam, Praenuntius Infiniti is one hour of flesh-melting, bone-busting death metal, infused with slamming elements and spine-shrinking breakdowns that capture the very crux of heavy, intense music. Produced by Christian Donaldson (Cryptopsy), the band’s Unique Leader Records debut displays Vulvodynia’s continued maturation and incorporation of melodic, technical and hyper aggressive elements into their backbone of brutal slamming death metal, to achieve what stands as their most diverse, engaging and immolating offer to date.

On the concept, the band conclude: "Praenuntius Infiniti tells the story of an interdimensional godlike being and his quest for ultimate power. After being cast out into the abyss by the elder Gods, Praenuntius begins devouring all of the known Multiverse on his journey to divine omnipotence. At the end of our 2015 release Finis Omnium Ignorantiam the earth gets eaten and travels through centuries of darkness down his gullet into the eternal wasteland of galaxies. The heavens are slowly torn asunder as the Gods scramble for a plan to defeat him. Battles rage and drama unfolds as the earth and other planets within his belly try to fight off the ruthless invasion of his spawn. Shall the Gods prevail or shall Praenuntius devour all!?"

Forgetting The Memories comment on 'Mask Ov Lies': "This song is about a journey through the life of a person who has a very distant relationship with his dad and the effect it has to the beholder. The song takes a dark dive into what goes through the head of the son who sees nothing but the wrong doings of his father. When it comes to becoming a parent of his own, he is eager to be the better parent to give a better life to his child."

Forgetting the Memories combine intricate, headbangable rhythms with melodic choruses that will have you singing along in no time, constructing a unique blend of deathcore and metalcore that is unparalleled in complexity and intensity.

Monophobia, their first self-released full-length in 2016, was a sprawling labyrinth of ferocious, hard-pounding breakdowns and catchy choruses, peppered with meaningful lyrics detailing deeply personal journeys through issues like battling cancer, losing a friend, and heartbreak. The band continued on this path on their first release with their new label Long Branch Records. The EP Known Darkness was released in 2019 and featured six songs, further confirming the band's rapid growth and potential.

Now Vemod, the second LP from the five Swedes, is a clear further development of the already known trademarks of the band and thus comes across even more intense than its predecessors. The 10 tracks on the new album, which was mixed and mastered by Buster Odeholm (Vildhjarta, Humanity's Last Breath), are lyrically haunting and deal with personal setbacks, world-weariness, anger and melancholy or wistfulness (= "Vemod" in Swedish).

Over the years, Forgetting The Memories have remained true to their particular style, yet have constantly evolved and defined themselves as a truly essential force within the genre.

Forgetting the Memories are:

Bastian Kempe - Vocals
Gustav Holst - Guitars
Adrian Lyxell - Guitars
Lukas Löken Olsson - Bass & Vocals
